Bought a bike from an East coast company that has an agreement with Lifecycle to assemble bikes for them for customers in Eugene. The bikes at Lifecycle seem pretty high end, whereas the bike they assembled for me would be mid to low, and honestly, I do have trepidation walking into high end bike shops as workers can be really snobbish. In fact, customer service in general at the moment is not the best anywhere, so my plan was just to get in and get out. And let's not forget, I wasn't paying for the service. Anyway, these guys were great, real friendly, real down to earth, and they treated me no differently than if I had been picking up a 5000 dollar bike. It is such a relief and a bright spot nowadays to be dealing with people in stores that really want to have your business, and these guys know how to make a customer feel welcome. Got the bike home and noticed a clicking in the rear wheel that I couldn't figure out, so called them and they said bring it down and they'd take care of it. That is exactly what they did. On the spot. The problem wasn't obvious and they had two or three guys looking at it, test riding it, trouble shooting it. Instead of treating it as a burden, work that wouldn't be charged for, they seemed to treat it as a challenge. So I hung out in a local cafe for a bit, they called me, I came back and picked it up, no problems since. I just can't tell you how rare it is to find people who take pride in their work, enjoy the challenge of it, and know how to make their customers feel welcome and appreciated, even, in this case, ones who are not paying a dime. Thanks guys. I would recommend you to anyone, and I will be sending a letter saying the same to the company I bought the bike from. They chose a good partner for this service in Eugene. read more

The owner of the shop convinced me to spend 30.00 more for Sram brakes instead of Shimano. Charged me 40.00 per brake for bleeding each brake then didn't cut the front brake and bleed it. When I went back to have him cut back the excessive amount of brake line he simply zip tied it to appear shorter. Major Asshole. He knew I was not a novice. I will never go back or recommend then to anyone. read more

Quick turnaround for a tune-up: they got me on the schedule a week in advance and did the tune-up during business hours so I could commute there and back after my workday. Bike feels great to ride, squeaky brakes fixed, and they were aware that I was a little uneasy about the cost so they did a couple fixes at a reduced rate, which was generous of them. While I was paying I mentioned wanting to install a bell, and they put on on there for free, just to be kind (they had one lying around, I think). Overall, a professional and friendly experience without a long wait for service, and reasonable cost for tune-up (around $80). Highly recommend. read more

Sure enough, fifteen minutes later they called back and said they had the part. I dropped by and grabbed the part and chatted for a bit. This place is a class act. Gilad and crew are experts at finding the perfect fit - whether it's a bike, shoes or just a helmet. My husband, an serious cyclist, bought a bike from them and all of the shoulder pain he'd had on previous rides was eliminated. I think his feet also permanently grew a half size after being fit with better shoes - apparently he'd been cramming himself into the wrong size for years. My mother, also a hard core cyclist, comes to visit from the Midwest and on at least one occassion, they hooked her up with a stunning, top of the line loaner. I'm not a serious cyclist at all. In fact, I'm just getting used to biking my commute everyday. When I had a flat I looked up a nearby bike shop and ended up here. The guys there were very friendly and fixed my flat on the spot for $12. The mechanic explained to me that I should fill the air in my tires more regularly to prevent flats. He also did a safety check of the entire bike before turning me loose. Next day..another flat! This time it wasn't my fault as I ran over a nail. Another quick and friendly flat fix. A week or so later I took my bike in again for a tune-up. They didn't call me to tell me it was ready like they said they would, so instead I called them. It was something like $50 for the tune up they gave me, and the mechanic came over and explained what he did and explained what kind of shape he thought the bike was in. After being in so frequently over the past few weeks I can confidently say that I have no complaints! read more

So I got a new bike and while setting it up and adjusting the brakes, I heard a small pop noise, and from that point on, I had no luck in setting the widths on my brake clamps. I'm a bike novice so I just couldn't figure out what was wrong and I was too afraid too try and fix anything myself. So began my search of a shop to fix my bike. I found Life Cycle on google, looked them up on yelp, and checked out the website. They had a 'services' tab that explains prices for different services they provide. All there brake repair services were around $20 to $40 range so I went in there expecting to pay something. After a brief, vague description to one of the employees, he went "Yeah let me fix that real quick." I would say no more than 5 minutes later, and without treating me like a noob, it was all fixed up and ready to go. The charge? Nothing. Free. I wasn't suprised because of how willing he was to 'fix that real quick', but still, not even a penny. I figured the best thing I could do was leave a solid review for them.
