This rating is about their practices around sales (handling of acquiring memberships, membership renewal charges and refunds), not the medical exam itself. The cardiovascular/bone density screening (which I got in July 2025) was not bad. I'm happy with that part. But I purchased a Life Line Membership, which I didn't need. Then it automatically renewed this year, and I don't want it. I don't need to redo the screening, and if I did, it doesn't require a membership. I'm currently unemployed and working with my Medi-Cal and my PCP on my primary concerns. Unfortunately, they don't do refunds, even if the renewal is recent and you didn't use it. They said there is a 7-day grace period, but if you don't catch it before then you are out of luck. I'm not happy about it. The fact that they don't do refunds is downplayed and softened into the background. Even on the phone they talk in happy circles instead of getting to the point that there is no refund. I think they should have very clear "NO REFUNDS" bold print reminder emails and a text. I went back to check for an email, and there are multiple emails throughout the year, just like with any email list you're on. I don't read all of them. There are none with a title about renewal or no refunds. Instead, there is a message about your card being charged, buried inside an email titled prepare for your next screening. Why? Because it's about sales and retaining money. They don't want you to be informed in a way that is too clear and at the front of your mind. Perhaps it's the only way they can afford to operate, I'm not sure. But, I think it's wrong. So, I just threw away $200 that I wanted to use for a real DEXA scan (in the event Medi-Cal doesn't cover it). There was also no place on my online account that indicated payment status or auto renew status. No online options for checking or changing it. So, my rating is based on their refund policy and practices around the membership. I will plan on not rejoining or purchasing any of their services at any time in the future and will make sure more people know about the refund and membership practices, as I wish I had been more aware. read more

It is not surprising that the vast majority of customers give them the lowest possible 1/5 rating. There are better ways to get the same results for free. You can get the same measures taken by your general physician for no additional expense in a standard examination, along with the related standard blood tests (PSA, HDL, A1C etc) So if you want to just get the tests they offer, there is nothing wrong with them. It's just not a good financial expense. Just get a through annual exam and highlight your concerns to your physician, and you will get the same information. In fact, your physician will probably do a more thorough exam if you highlight the concerns, especially if you have some family history of an issue. Most physicians do not recommend the service. read more

My husband and I had been members since 2023. Our appointment was scheduled for September 2025....We had to call and cancel due to a horrible family crisis and was not able to return home until 1 month ago. I had called to let them know we would not be able to make the appointment. They said when we returned to call and reschdule. When we arrived back in town I called. Much to our surprise the individual that helped us said we were on a contract and they would not remake our appointment and not refund our $266.00 x 2 times for a new appointment in 2026. I reminded her that things do happen in life. Hopefully at sometime she might experience something like this and start treating people with better customer service. Then they took $197.00 x 2 out of our credit card (they dd finally refund it after much hesitation). I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time and they said that they were let into the building an hour and a half late. There were about 15 people waiting in chairs. They were short staffed and the woman greeting people was also doing the blood draws. I changed my mind so I called them to see if I could get a refund of $178 and the representative hung up on me. I called back and was transferred three more times before I got a . It's really hard to get your money back if you cancel. They were supposed to call all the patrons and let them know they're running about 45 minutes behind, but they didn't do that. If you show up that late, they take a $50 cancellation fee from you. I'm not sure how good the screening is, but it was not what I was expecting. I don't think I'll reschedule. read more

I was given a cost of $159 for five different screenings, including an Osteoporosis Risk Assessment. when I went to my appointment (which I had previously rescheduled, I was told an Osteoporosis screening was not included. When I contacted the company I was told when I rescheduled my appointment on line I was given a different "Priority Code" which automatically removed the osteoporosis screening. They also charge an additional $19+ fee to have your results reviewed which, of course is not mentioned when you initially sign up or in the brochure. I have called and emailed the company. The rep refused to adjust my price due to no osteoporosis screening, and I did not receive a reply to my email. read more

I signed up for a program that was not clearly explained, as I found out it was a membership that I would be billed for annually, even if I didn't enroll for the testing each year. I specifically asked for test results to be (snail) mailed to me. I got an email with a code to be entered on website that would not let me view results. Calling did not help and I swore off of using their services. But was billed to my credit card the following year when I DIDN'T sign up for testing and they wouldn't refund the charges even though I was not using their services. When originally enrolling I said I would not use the testing every year and didn't want to be charged automatically and was assured that would be the case. I was lied to and stolen from. I am a male and my reports came back saying I was a female so they told me to throw everything away and they send me new paperwork two months later I got the new paperwork and it still said I was a female. The actual screening was great. Staff was very nice and everything went smoothly. But getting the results has been a nightmare. You set up a user name and password but then it doesn't work to log in. You go through the usual "forgot password" steps, etc., and it still doesn't work. So you call them, but they're only available Monday- Friday. This happened to both me and my husband. I suspect that when we call on Monday, they will try to get me to pay the extra $15 to have the results hard copied and mailed to me. We'll see what happens. read more

This test saved my life! In January 2024, I received testing and was notified shortly thereafter that there was some evidence of blockage and that I should follow up with a cardiologist. In February I did just that and was put through a variety or tests. My calcium score was extremely high, resulting in a heart catheterization and three additional medications. I would most likely been a victim of the heart attack called the "widow maker". Had I not gone for this testing, I would have never known my risk of a life threatening heart attack. I am very appreciative that there is a low cost testing that can very easily save your life. read more

Two major complaints about LifeLine Screening ensure I will not be using them again. After buying the package with four scans, I received my results which showed everything was "normal." However, I later received duplicate results in the mail, with a copy for my physician, which now showed an incidental finding of "suspected abnormality in thyroid" and instruction to see my doctor. 1. First, I called multiple times to get clarification on what they saw that was different; I'm not asking for a diagnosis as to the cause, only for a simple observation, e.g., "enlarged" or "reduced" thyroid. (I have a diminutive thyroid, which is typical after decades of thyroid supplements. I don't want to waste time and hundreds of dollars for additional doctor appts. and scans to tell me what I already know.) Either no one got back to me or the "results processing team" simply repeated "see your doctor." That's the equivalent of hiring a pest inspector for your house who simply says "You have pests" without identifying what they saw: was it a few wasps going into the attic, or a foundation completely consumed by termites? Why not simply state WHAT THEY SAW that was abnormal (which is NOT a diagnosis)? To refuse to do so is ridiculous. 2. Second, it's concerning that my online results, which include a section "For your doctor: All the results your doctor wants to see" shows only "normal" for each test. The abnormal finding is NOT mentioned. Why are the two sets of results contradictory and incorrect? The complete, accurate results should be shown so I can track them; inaccurate info isn't helpful. To resolve this, I even tried calling the number on the letter, signed by the CMO, saying to call if any questions. There was no such option (extension) available! The screen I did a few years ago was an okay experience, and the results were reassuring. However, I received a mailing today with information from someone else in the envelope. It said their results were okay last time, as were mine, Thankfully. My concern is, what if they weren't, and now someone else gets the letter? Isn't that some sort of Privacy Breach? Life Line Screening tests are fine. However, they put me on an annual membership plan that automatically charges $197. I never do annual renewals so I know that they either put something in fine print or hid the fact that there was an annual renewal fee. I was unable to get them to reverse the charge even though I called them on the exact day they made the charges. As a result of their poor customer service, they have lost a 10-year customer. They said I would be there about 2 hours. There was a make shift testing set up at a church and I was in and out in 10 minutes. I should've known then. The worst part is when I showed the test to my doctor, he said the results did not make sense and were not real tests. There was also an "abnormal" finding according to Life Line. I know someone whose life was saved by ultrasound that most insurance companies will not cover, I have been a member for over 10 years and they caught a thyroid problem and I was able to myself. I would give them 5 stars however, I could not get a refund for my spouse's membership paid for a year that goes towards the screenings So while pleased with the great service, I do not recommend the monthly membership. read more

Life Line experience is after the first test, they contacted me six months later asking me to come back because they missed a few test. I arrived at another location and there was a man going in and out, calling out names. He noticed me sitting there but didn't even ask me if I had an appointment. It turned out they claimed they called my name earlier and how could that be, I was scheduled for the afternoon not the morning. I contacted Life Line about this and told them I don't need their services anymore but then the following year they hit my card. Contacted their billing to fix this and they stalled so I contacted my credit card and disputed charges. They to date keep sending me flyers to come back even after contacting them. I really wish I had done some digging before I signed up to do this. If I had I would not have used this service, first off, based on so many poor reviews. Secondly, my main goal was for the carotid artery scan which does not include the arteries around your heart, only in your neck. I'd say ALL of those arteries are key information for prevention. My other complaint is I missed my first appointment so needed to pay 50 dollars to rebook. My fault but at the end of the day, after adding on a blood test all of this cost over 250 dollars for information I feel could fall short and potentially lead me to a false sense of security. This week I'm paying 150 for a carotid artery scan at a medical center. This is where my dad found he had 97 percent blockage in an artery to his heart. I wish I had asked my mom where they had been screened rather than go with Life Line. The people were nice and professional enough but it just makes sense to go to a medical facility with equipment that can be more complete, especially when considering the pricing is competitive. I will update this review when I get this next scan done. Bottom line is, explore your options and see what you may have covered by insurance. read more

Waste of time and money. The results provided were completely inaccurate. I truly believe they gave me someone else's results. They sold me a test assuring me that my doctor would never order it. When it was completed it was only a lipid panel, and not even a complete result. Any doctor worth their salt orders one at least bi-annually. Also they told me I have high blood pressure.... if anything mine is low normal. They also told me high cholesterol... when I said I am vegetarian they told me I must have eaten bacon for breakfast and that affected the results. Seriously bacon? I repeated I'm vegetarian. Obviously they are just trying to cover their questionable practices and scamming clients by scaring them. Look at their clientele, mostly seniors. They should be ashamed of themselves. The Brandon, MS (4/25/25) location for Lifeline screening demonstrated just how unsafe it is to use this service. I won't be going back ever. The guy doing the neck ultrasound was not cleaning the equipment between use on each patient. Also, he was rough and hurt my neck. My husband and I both did the Life Line screening. Both our results came back good. No problems. We were relieved. A few months later my husband's doctor had him do a heart test. Turns out he had severe artery blockage. He underwent two heart procedures in the hospital and had 6 ( yes, 6!) stents put in. If you have these procedures done anually by your health care provider. And you are looking to save some money having these procedures done through Life Line Screening. Expecting the raw recorded pictures of the ultra sounds will be forwarded to your health care provider, for comparison to previous scans, even after requesting Life Line Screening provide those records you paid for. They will not send anything to your Doctor. FOR SUCH REASON, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE AND PROCEDURE FROM LIFE LINE SCREENING. I WILL NOT HAVE THIS SERVICE DONE AGAIN FROM LIFE LINE SCREENING. If you have never had these procedures done before. It can be beneficial to have this done. The set up is extremely sketch. The ultrasound tech was very rough and caused me a lot of discomfort during the abdominal screening and ultimately did not complete it when I stated for the second time that she was really hurting me. Just like the abdominal ultrasound they did not complete the peripheral circulation testing on me either (only did three limbs) and did not correct the mistake. I want to add that the workers (staff would be too descriptive of a professional set up - which this is NOT) were extremely unprofessional and down right rude. I am contacting my state's attorney general's office today since their customer service deferred my call and said to call them again tomorrow but blocked further calls from my number. read more
