My friend made appt weeks later on my recommendation and said more appts opened up online and she took an 11:10 The day prior to testing. I have an email and VM that due to staffing issues my appt changed to 3:40 on a Friday evening. I contacted my friend and she still has her original appt time. Customer service had no reason other than "staffing" and only thing she suggested was to make new appt at desired time in another town/location. What? And be bumped again without notice? I find it unacceptable that people who schedule early for specific time slots do not take priority over later scheduled appts. Not a way to do business. read more

I find it pretty amazing that people are giving this service bad reviews because they didn't like how long they had to wait. Yes. It's annoying. But I have to wait frequently at my regular doctors office. Anyway. I've been going there every couple of years for 15 years. My sister-in-law had a 90% blockage of the carotid artery in her neck, she would've been dead. She didn't know about , Also my brother had an aortic artery aneurysm on a golf course and almost died...And many people don't know what that runs in the family.My Internist told me to go there that it was a big bargain because many of these tests are not covered. By my insurance. So, I continue to go. I took off a star because they don't make a big enough deal about the osteoporosis test. Most of the people in the waiting room with senior citizens, and they really need to have a bone density test. And this is not enough. Be mindful of the hidden fees they don't tell you about! If they do find something, you have to pay extra for the actual scans to take to your doctor ! I'm not sure why they aren't posted on the "website " with the report they supply. And they send it in the mail even after they said it would be emailed. I feel like I was dupped! Won't fall for the " Just $169 for all these tests" again. Not to mention one if the offers was $149 for 5 tests and $169 for 4, on another. Needed a picture of the lesser offer for them to honor. So, I ended up paying the higher price for one less test on top of the additional fee for the ultra sound scan, which, by the way, my doctor couldn't even read! read more

My suggestion is: That it is a service that is better than not going to a doctor at all. Though the concept, is very inexpensive and the service can alert you to a major health issue. It's far from a deep dive into any issue. I would not use them again. They reported mild to moderate carotid artery blockage. When asked they would not provide copies of scans. That was a red flag to me. So I had my arteries checked by a certified Vascular Specialist doctor and team. The result was a 100% clean arteries! So I would not go back twice nor would I rely on their results, if you have health insurance see your doctor. I felt like they just reported something to get me back and sell services. March2023: 3 star. I arrived early at this center and was not checked-in until over an hour later. The staff here were short on workers. The lady doing my neck examination had an assistant checking my ankles with a pressure cuff. The assistant, instead of lowering my ankles down after picking them up, just dropped them back to the table. The first time, I thought it was a mistake until she did the second one and then dropped it as well to the table. RUDE! It was not appropriate and hurt my legs and ankles. The medical staff working were mostly professional in completion of their job. This visit left me irritated with the whole thing. January2022: 4 star. I received a call from this business last year and decided to book an appointment because I wanted to pay for a second opinion on my health care status. The location was a local community service center adjacent to a church. I arrived early, but I was not seen in a timely fashion, but was in communication with the workers the whole time. After not seeing a Dr. or going in person for an onsite meeting?! Payment on phone without knowing who they are, other than a flyer in the mail? I hung up! my husband & I did lifeline screening today. This is the fourth time in the past eight years I have used their services. The technicians are friendly and efficient. my husband, a retired physician, was favorably impressed with the whole procedure... wait time, competence of staff, ease of getting four tests done at one time. we live in a small community and it's nice to have the service come to you as opposed to driving to a larger city. Although the tests aren't covered by Medicare, we found the charges reasonable. and if we do need follow up with a physician, we have test results to bring & not just vague complaints that can be easily dismissed. I think the doctors who started this company had a clever and useful idea. read more

This screening could be important for certain people, but I wasn't too impressed with the results. One of them was the opposite of what a CT scan six months earlier had found. Life Line said 'no,' and my prior CT said 'yes' on the condition. That was suspect for me and a very important condition. Apparently they changed the bone scan reporting methods and there isn't really a way to know the details in their method. Based on my screening results and what I have been told by my treating physicians after more extensive testing, makes me wonder what they miss. I wouldn't put my life on the line with their screening and test results. read more

NOT USE AGAIN: I went in for my appointment today at the Davis, CA temporary location. My appt. was the second for the day. But when two people were called up before me, when my wife was told she wasn't the third appt. as told when making the appt. but number 5, when they did not open the windows to provide better ventilation, when they rudely responded to my wife's concerns, we walked out. Be prepared to wait anywhere from 1 hour to three hours Appointments mean nothing. If you try to reschedule or cancel your appointment and get a refund they will charge you $50. read more

This is a joke - no respect for people's time - 45 minutes until the first test. At this rate it will be HOURS to complete all 4 tests. Material online and phone reps state clients are in and out in about an hour. Don't believe it. It seems they misrepresent how long their testing takes as a ploy to attract business. Clearly they schedule too many people knowing it isn't logistically possible to get them through the testing processes in about an hour - no consideration or respect for clients. COMPLETE SCAM. PAID $342 FOR MYSELF AND HUSBAND. THEN HEAR IF I REFER A FRIEND, THEY GET 2 FOR 1 FOR $99! That's not the worst part. The tests literally took SECONDS. They can't tell anything in 5 seconds. I've had the same tests in a doc office and while they don't take long, they at least spent 5-10 minutes on each test. Just order the tests from your doctor. The test takers barely paid attention to what they were doing and if you can detect A Fib or any of the other things they tested for in 2 seconds, they must be much more skilled than I give them credit for. Service is fine. However expect long waits. They assume everyone is retired and don't have anywhere to be. Biggest issue is the follow up sales calls with scare tactics masquerading as health professionals. I am smart enough to challenge them and the person didn't like that. They assume no one goes to their own doctor to verify things. I signed up for 5 tests from Lifeline. I took off work and got there to find out one machine was broken. They acted like it was no big deal and ushered me out the door. I had also submitted a question on their website on if i need to fast before the test. They indicated 48 hour response and i didn't get any response the entire week before my test. I wrote a complaint email for the 2 issues and Rob K at customer service wrote back basically saying "sometimes a machine is broken, you have to call our number and reschedule to come in again and sorry we sometimes get behind on email responses". No accountability and no offer of anything to make it right. So i got bad service and have to take off work twice. mm husband and I were sent letters to recing us to have screenings done by lifeline we figured that it would be a good chance to compare with the tests that we were about to take with our Kaiser professional doctor. The results we got back from the lifeline screenings were so completely opposite to what our actual medical doctors tests revealed. So much so that we had them retested. Our blood/hemoglobin, glucose levels, lipid panels even my husband's testosterone levels were tested to the tune of over $600. Many of the results were completely different and inaccurate. My Life Line finger-prick bloodwork readings bear little to no resemblance to doctor readings from a full blood draw. Further, several reported results are simply untrue; as if they were not tested, but made-up for purposes of delivering a complete report. The lead staffer on my testing day was utterly rude. The Life Line operation gives every impression of being high-priced and unauthoritative. These tests can routinely be provided by your medical doctor and should be covered by insurance. read more

It was Life Life Line Screening who proactively sent me the information about their ultrasound tests. My doctor, or hospital never did. Life Line's tests showed a 85% plaque blockage in my left carotid artery. This is a major cause of strokes. Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the US and is a leading cause of disability in adults. My mother had one and for the rest of her life could not walk, talk, or speak. I had the carotid artery surgery. It was basically pain free. I went home from the hospital the next day. Because Life Line was the first to contact me and then gave me their ultrasound test independent from my doctor there is now a better chance I may live stroke free for the rest of my life. read more

Years ago when I started doing those medical tests, the company acted much more professionally, nicely and friendly but recently I noticed a lack of attention provided to the customers. On January 31st, 2019 I had some 4 tests performed and still did not receive the results. Multiple times I called and spoke to Benete, Matthew on 4/14/19 and today 4/23/19 spoke to Dave, Supervisor, who promised that some one from a certain dept. would call me back. I did not get that phone call and I do not plan to perform those tests again. I will try to do them through my health insurance and if not I would survive without them. I wish I had looked at Yelp first. Lifeline is definitely a scam. I had a voucher for a discount on some tests. Figured I'd try it. When I called to schedule the appointment it was $149. I had a voucher for $69. The woman on the phone said I could have the upgraded tests, a $220 value for the same amount. I said "really? Ok." Then I get there and they try to charge me $220! And don't want to accept the voucher! And this is after fasting and I was shaky. I'm glad I left without paying or doing tests. I'll see a real doctor for a proper exam. By the way, they made everyone wait a half hour because they weren't set up. Moving the table, etc. The lady next to me said she was running from the Bart station, afraid she would be late, then had to wait when she got there. There was a big sign that said "Medicare Part B no copay" so this could be a way they work the system for money. read more

I was scheduled and had to take off work for their tests. I got an email reminder the day before @ 8:01am to confirm my appointment. They called me at 3:47pm the day before and claim they left me a vII email! I did have a missed call that lasted 31 seconds (which would not even get them through my pre-voicemail messag) and no voicemai was left. They evidently changed my appointment to 12:15pm instead of 1:50pm on 8/7/24! I got to the facility the were doing it at 20 minutes earlier to find out they had already packed up and left! The people at the facility said they started packing up @ 12:00 noon and we're gone by 12:15pm! How could they do that knowing "they" rescheduled me for 23:15pm! They lied about the voicemaUL and left before I got there! Bad business practic! I called and the sai they were going to charge me a $50 sir charge for missing my appointment! Lot's of cheesy upselling going on with the seniors....It makes me sick listening to them...This took place in a church hall, evidently they get some fee for their facility and its good cover being held at a church. I confronted the clerk about the woman's test and asked for a refund but to no avail...She gave me a number to call and guess what? Leave a message. Two weeks ago I was in an accident and sustained a head injury, concussion stitches to my forehead, dislocated shoulder and sprained wrist. While I am healing, my head pain has become unbearable and I am returning to the hospital today (the day of my Life Line screening). I called to reschedule and asked that the 50 dollar cancellation fee be waived. I offered to provide ER and medical documentation and photos of the accident. The reply was, "You should have cancelled 48 hours ago." I explained that 48 hours ago I was planning on keeping the appointment and that the acute pain and headache only presented within the past 12 hours. The supervisor who can make the decision to waive the cancellation fee would not speak to me. Her name is Mildred I feel like my circumstances are extenuating, to say the least. Obviously, my rating is ZERO. This is supposed to be a health and wellness provider. This is a SCAM. Be very careful. I am trying to contact their corporate headquarters, so far with no success. My screening was scheduled for 10:30am. Got there at 10:15 and checked in right away. After an hour wait, they called me in to check blood flow in my leg, it took 30 seconds. Then they sent me back out into the waiting area. Waited another 15 minutes, then got called in for the rest of my test. 15 minutes later I was done. It's ridiculous how they schedule you a certain time but make you wait an hour or more for your screening. And you can't walk out because they already have your money. I will say that everyone was nice and professional, but they should have had more than two people doing the testing. I highly recommend NOT doing this. read more

I have used lifeline screening for 15 years. The price was reasonable and the staff was friendly and professional. However last year the sales person talked me into monthly payments and additional tests. Well my fault I was not clear on the fact I would be paying a monthly payment every month ongoing and my tests last year cost twice as much. Trying together hold of someone to cans has been a pain. The lines are always busy. DO NOT SIGN UP for a membership you are just paying more for nothing. read more

We have used Life Line Screening for many years but will NO longer be using them due to a "Gold Membership Plan" that I was scammed into signing up for last year that has now magically gone away. I called in this year to schedule screenings for my wife & I and was told that our "Gold membership had lapsed for non-payment due to my credit card being bad". First of all my credit is impeccable so I know my card was not bad - secondly I received no notice from Life Line about a payment not going thru (has that Ever happened...to Anyone on the planet if their payment does Not process?? NO!). So then without taking a breath she goes into Sales mode on what the gold plan was replaced with - called something like OnePlan maybe? But I say "Wait a minute! I was told that I would receive $100 (x's 2 for my wife) to go towards this years blood work!" and she tells me again that the Gold Plan is no longer available and that I "got everything I paid for last year". At that point I ask to speak with a mgr or supervisor and after awhile comes back and no mgr avail but will call back within 48 hours. I wait a WEEK and no call - so today I call and finally get mgr who first tells me "No, they told you wrong - you Are a Gold member!". So I think all is well and schedule appts for us. After scheduling us she says she's transferring me "to the Gold dept to apply my credits to these appointments". Great! Gold dept comes on the line and tells me that my membership lapsed and that I have no credits for anything?!? I again ask for a manager and again after a while she comes back and says none avail so I tell her I guess this long-term customer will be parting ways with them because I am not waiting another week for no one to call me again! Also told her she could read about it in my Better Business Bureau complaint - so here you go! What a scam! Can anyone say Class Action Lawsuit?? read more

Got a letter from my long term insurance company, Prudential that stated that I could get a FREE Life Line Screening package valued at $149. Well, I called Lifeline that day to make the appointment. The lady said they were not set up yet and she would call me back the next day. The next day came and she never called. Then later, I call Life Line Screening again. This time I was able to set up an appointment though the lady tried to get me to sign up for more test not covered by Prudential. I said I only want the tests covered by Prudential. Then I gave her my priority code. She said it didn't go thru, have to talk to management. Finally said that when I show up for the appointment it would be covered. Later, I received an email about the cost which I ignored because the cost was to be covered by Prudential. Later, I discovered I made the appointment for the same time I have a Zoom meeting with my church so I decided to change it. So I did, again the person on the phone tried to get me to do more tests, told her I only wanted ones covered by Prudential. When I showed up the receptionist couldn't find that it was covered. I had bought the letter with me that said it was no cost to me. Told me that maybe when I changed the appointment that this information about no-cost was not carried over. Told me I could call the number. Decided I should not have to do this, after all I had brought the letter with the priority code. So I said I will just leave and did! After reading other reviews, wonder if the letter was really from Prudential or if they were trying to trick me. read more

Life Line Screening - avoid this service. I do NOT recommend Life Line Screening. All of my test results were normal. Once I used this service, their marketing department hounded me for new sales for years afterward even when I was on the National Do Not Call List. They sent postal mails on a regular basis and worse, they used a computer to call me nearly every week. I refused to pickup due to Caller ID. Eventually, I answered the phone and asked them not to call ever again. The sales guy was rude, condescending, unpleasant, and insulting. My family doctor told me that he could order the same tests as Life Line Screening and those tests would be covered by my medical insurance.
