I booked them again in early March to store their things for this summer of 2020, but we were faced with Covid-19. This place has been aging and needs some maintenance…read more Your belongings are secure from theft here, but you see dead bugs around the unit hallways and they don't seem to care about how having plants growing in the doorway cracks look. These units have been known on occasion to have a ceiling leak. They need to secure the maintenance of an aging set of buildings with the occasional hole in the roof from the solar panels, instead of focusing only on renting out units. They can get it looking nice (and secure the roofs to restore confidence of those who remember leaks) without much problem. Then I'll up the rating. But they don't seem to be in much hurry so my rating is moderate.

Renter beware. They can reassess your rental agreement and raise the price whenever they choose to. In addition, this time our contents got wet due to flooding and many things were damaged. Last year, when I…read morefirst started using this location, I would have given it four stars, but things have drastically changed. The property is fine and relatively well-kept even. It is, however, difficult to get trucks in and out due to the layout. If there's too many people already at the facility accessing their units, you'll have a really difficult, if not impossible, time getting around with your car or truck. The office staff does rounds pretty frequently to check on things. Security is standard and I've had no issues. Some of the buildings have structural cracks in the flooring that look concerning but I don't know if it's a big issue or not. The bigger problem is that Devon Self-storage is private equity. If you're unfamiliar with that, in my experience so far, it means that the owner(s) can do what they want when they want. An example is their rates. Their rates seem great on the website. That's what got me to rent with Devon in the first place. They seem cheaper than a lot of places around town. But I've had my rates raised every six months since I moved in. My most recent rate increase was $42. That was on a unit that I just moved into in June 2026. I was paying $182. The rent will increase October 1st to $224 (with insurance it will be $242). They also owe me $146.47 as a refund when I moved out of one of their other units back in June. I've attempted to address the issue repeatedly with Chris the manager. He continues to refuse to address it. Initially Chris was great. Not sure what happened. There is a new person in the office now in addition to Chris and she's very nice but wasn't thoroughly trained and unable to help directly with a lot of issues. She just passes it along to Chris. So I cannot in good faith recommend this particular Devon Self Storage. Maybe the other ones are better but I have heard that they raise their rates often just like this one. I've waited months for my issues to be addressed. Renter beware!

Their customer service is directed to a call center in another state. What kind of storage unit restricts access like this? How is a working person or student going to access their belongings when you can't go after work or on the weekends? They give you a "gate code" to trick you into thinking you can access your unit after hours but the codes don't even work. Not only are the times absurd, 75%+ of the units are located upstairs and there is only one elevator that works as the other is broken. If this wasn't bad enough, I got a unit over the phone and was given a price and when I got to the building the price wasn't honored and they had no idea what I was talking about. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. You'd be better off storing your things on the side of the road.
