I've been a member since they opened their doors. I am quitting next week. The rapid decline in the quality of the employees, the service and the cleanliness no longer warrants a $150+ per month membership plus the cost of my children's activities. When I found an employee sleeping in the changing room among the filthy towels thrown all over the floor I decided that it was time to more on. Also, anytime I tried to buy something from the cafe I got attitude and the 'we ain't open no more' response from the eloquent and well spoken employees. This is the creme-de-la-creme of gyms. My best friend brought me here via a guest pass. This place literally has everything you can think of including childcare so your spawn will be taken care of while you get a workout in. A second-story weight and cardio area of about 1000 mm feed, Squash Courts, two full size basketball courts, a climbing wall, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. I mean, there's so many Superfluous nouns I can use to explain all the things here but verbs would do better or adjectives. But this ain't no language lesson so we're going to stop all that. If you can afford their membership, it's pretty sweet. According to my best bro, there's other of these facilities throughout Atlanta that are even better than this one. I can't imagine. read more

I was a lifetime fitness member for a very long time. The staffs are rude but the amenities are good. it's smaller than the sugarloaf location and i tend to go to that location or johns creek. Do not come in after 6 p.m, because when the managers are gone the people at the front desk can only kick people out. No guest passes / new memberships are issued. I go to this gym, but I can never go alone. There is a guy here that blatantly "records" ALLEGEDLY women while doing squat workouts. I was on the very far rack and I noticed him behind me with his phone pointed but didn't want to assume so kept working out. He slowly changes his positioning to sit right in front of me basically with his phone in my face. I felt super uncomfortable and right away went and told staff and a manager. I never come by myself now. Today I was working out and saw a girl doing squats and saw the same guy sitting right behind her on a bench phone faced to her and not doing a single workout. It's actually so disgusting that women can't feel safe or just work out here without creeps and a management that doesn't even back them up. I ended up telling the girl and she was disgusted, hopefully someone finally does something so women don't have to be uncomfortable to work out here. read more

However, they need to (1) update their open hours in their app so I don't need to call to confirm what is actually accurate and (2) open the waterslides when they verbally claim for them to be open. You can build a castle but if you host it poorly, no one will come. One star rating for the poor service of this organization overall. And how much service do you really need at a gym? Well, at each point: entry, use, and exit, LTM messes up. While working out with my mom, I was approached by a trainer who stated this was the last time he was going to address the issue of 'training' and handed a paper that said they frowned on people working out together in what might look like 'training' sessions. Really? Call it a gym or a club, it's service is for the fitness of members. Yet with their salesperson I was asked multiple times why I came in and had to state multiple times I was there for fitness. With the $$$ they spent on the facility, the actual setup of machines, mirrors, amenities, including lack of tuners on cardio machines could have been better if their true focus was on the fitness product. LTM can change today. They can focus on fitness and tailor their service. It would be a great club. As of today, I suggest people avoid the poor service that comes along with relatively nice facilities. To get actual fitness services without getting upset at customer service interactions throughout the course of your membership, I suggest other smaller gym studios in the area with better yelp ratings or YMCA, but please do find a fitness solution. The principles this company continues to operate by are low. If you are someone who is conscious about where their money goes, you will be much happier spending it elsewhere. read more

I spent 5000$ in one year at Lifetime on training fees, products, private yoga... Then my live at home college student turned twenty one and Lifetime insisted that she could no longer be part of my "family" membership. Lifetime insisted that I pay for a completely separate membership for her to walk the treadmill about once a month. I spoke to the facility manager and the corporate marketing people. They said that spending $5000 in one year did not make me "special", and I had no right to a discount just because I spent a lot of money. Their attitude was basically "who do you think you are". I generally find that when I am a good customer for a long period of time, smart businesses recognize my loyalty and are willing to make small accommodations to keep me as a customer. They generally don't think it's a good idea to cop an attitude and insult me if I need a refill for the drink I spilled, or a redo on some alteration that didn't come out right. To further sour the good opinion I had of lifetime,when I went to cancel my membership I was told I had to do it in person. When I went to the Alpharetta facility on a Tuesday at 4PM I was told that there was no one in the facility who could accept my cancellation and I would have to come back some other day, even though there was a sign saying that they had staff available to speak about new memberships. I spoke with some of my friends and found out that this is standard practice at that Lifetime, to delay people from canceling. read more

We've been LTF members since it opened in 2007. I really, really like it. I'm not needy so I haven't used a ton of things but I've done classes (all kinds), used the pool, the sauna and the steam room. Hubby uses the basketball court. Haven't used the spa but I have eaten at the Cafe. We were dedicated at one point...........and then we weren't. So to pay all that money for something you don't use is a waste. We decided to leave and go to LA Fitness as it was cheaper and, I guess, since we weren't using it so much it would save us some money. Anyway, we left, and now we are back. LA Fitness sucked........hard. I don't have to provided a lock for my locker, towels are provided. It's clean. The class schedule is good - I can nearly always find a class to do. It can get busy but it really depends on the time you go. I usually go really early, middle of the day (not lunch time) or late evenings during the week and very early at weekends...unless I'm doing a class of course. So I don't experience any problems. If you are serious about working out and think you'll use the facility enough to get value from - I would say go for it. N.B We did have a problem last year when we wanted to take my daughter off of the account and they wanted to charge us after we had been members for years. Let's just say we didn't pay the fee...my husband does NOT play that. read more

This location has illegal sales practices. My daughter was instructed to lie about her age so she wouldn't need a parents authorization to sign up for for a membership. We were both lied to about what the membership dues were going to be and were told that her dues would be corrected and the money reimbursed. The company continues to put fraudulent charges on my credit card even after the membership was cancelled. My credit card company is involved now and hopefully this matter will be resolved. All these charges are without a signed contract by a person over 18 years of age. read more

If I had written a review of this location within the first week or so of coming here, it would have been terrible, mainly due to one particular personal trainer. Unfortunately, she rubbed me the wrong way with saying that I needed to buy this supplement and that service and join that class, all of which was going to cost as much or more than I pay each month on my mortgage... While some of it may be worthwhile, I don't need it all right away. "But then," you ask, "if that was the experience you had, why are you giving it a four-star review?" I'm glad you asked. I have now been coming here for about a year. Last fall, I started really coming on a regular basis and working out. Within the last three months, however, is where I have seen the biggest improvement in myself overall. Much of this has been with the occasional help of the (other) friendly personal trainers who are more than happy to give me a pointer here or there. They have many services available here including: Cafe Spa Free child care (2 hours/day up to 8 hours, I think, plus 2 hours Sunday) two basketball courts several (6, I think) squash courts two indoor pools and one outdoor pool Sauna & Steam rooms all manner of cardio and resistance equipment free weights group fitness classes from TEAM Fitness and TEAM Weightloss to Zumba to Yoga to spin classes Personal training Metabolic testing and more! Honestly, I haven't used most f the classes they have available, but I have found that the club in general has great amenities. I feel that the value is good overall. My only concern is that they seem to like to push the idea of spending money on extra products and services pretty hard, which can be somewhat off-putting. read more

Everyone that knows me, knows that I am a huge fan of Lifetime Fitness. It all starts with the childcare. While the gym is on the pricey side(however worth every penny)- the 8 hour a week allowance for the childcare is surprisingly cheap. My 2 year old loves to go there. He's been going his whole life. He started in the nursery section (appointments needed to ensure proper care), then to the toddler section, and now he can go all over. The child center is huge. It has a mini basketball court, a climby/ slidey thing play area, a computer section, a tv section, and tons of toys. They are always getting new toys and dvds. They had Toy Story 3 the day it came out. And in the warmer months there is an outdoor playground. My son knows and loves all the child care staff, and trust me they make my life as a single mom a little less stressful. Next, the trainers. I used a trainer for 6 months to get me to my pre-baby weight. Not only did he get me there, but he helped with creating a new healthy lifestyle for me. I then switched to boot camp for almost a year. I liked it because it forced me to do things I wouldn't make myself do. Like run sprints, etc. This brings me to the classes. They have a wide variety of classes ranging from strength to cardio to pilates to yoga. I have only done the free mat pilates and yoga classes but have enjoyed them all. I have been a huge fan of the yoga- pilates fusion class, which gives me the best of both. I've eaten in the cafe a few times, my son likes their pizza (served on wheat bread). Shakes are good too. The little things I love about LT are I never wait for a cardio machine, they give you towels, and there are steam rooms and hot tubs! Which leads me to the pools. I like the transition pools- great for kids who can't swim yet. Indoor pool for family swim in the winter and completely kid friendly pool for the summer. I'm sure when my kid is bigger he'll love the water slides. Lastly, they do have a salon and spa. I've never used either (I work for a spa, so I won't go to a competitor), but the hair salon uses Aveda products. I'm a huge Aveda fan. Of course there are more things at this gym (rock climbing, basketball, racket ball), but I only wanted to focus on the things I use. So in conclusion, anyone with a kid needs to be member here. read more

My experience with lifetime has always been great until I had the displeasure of speaking to Kaitlyn Sharpe. She was not willing to work with me at all when Lifetime Fitness auto-renewed my membership after I was under the impression it was still on hold for the $15 per month. We are in the mist of a pandemic and I'm high risk being pregnant, why does lifetime think it's okay to auto- renew a membership that is on hold is beyond me. I was a member with lifetime for 3 months and I went almost everyday. I loved the atmosphere and the classes I could do there, but didn't like the price - $77 per month is too expensive for me. and they never told me that you could freeze your account when you go out on vacation so they only charge you $10. I wish I knew that before wasting $77 for a membership that I didn't use for a month. But if you want a gym that will treat you right, where they have so many facilities at your disposal I would have to say join Lifetime Fitness!! read more

Have been a happy member for 5 years. Overall, excellent gym with lots of cardio equipment and large weight area. Don't use the pool much but a large aquatics facility. Not cheap and sometimes the dirty towels are piled high in the bins with staff (albeit not maintenance) hanging around. Would be nice to see anyone with a LT shirt on take the initiative and find more clean towels or get the dirty ones moved. Some great front desk staff members in the morning when I go. read more

Awesome facility, a lot to do, but the value just is not there, especially for the $60 a month I pay when there are alternatives for half the price that provide the exact same amenities that I typically utilize. Today, I received an E-Mail indicating that LifeTime will be increasing my monthly dues. Quite the gall to increase dues considering I (and I'm sure I am not alone here) think monthly dues are way too high to begin with. I will be mailing via certified letter my cancellation notice this week. **Forgot to add: bring an iPod/personal music player. The audio/music on the fitness floor is beyond nauseating. When I tell you this place is like a non-privatized country club! Everything from the food/cafe to the people to the gym to the pool(s) to the spa to the saunas and to the trainers is ABOVE AVERAGE!!! I caught a membership special before the summer months and it's worth every penny!! I have been attending since it has opened and I love it. Being not too familiar with gyms in this category..I was very impressed from the start. I immediately got a resort feel from the place. They are open 24 hours usually and the place has so much to offer. It is indeed a club. Not only do you have your basic weight room with treadmills and ellipticals and what not, but you have so many other activities to do. It is an all in one. You got two basketball courts, squash courts, rock wall, outdoor pool, indoor 'leisure' pool w/ water slide, lap pool, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms. They also have a great emphasis on their group fitness activities, like yoga, cycling, pilates and dancing. There is a nice cafe that actually serves up some decent food, but I avoid it because I rather not spend money. Has a spa/salon where you can get massages and other beauty services done (for a price..sometimes they have decent specials though). Also there is a child care center, and they run summer camps for kids throughout the summer. I have heard some people complain about it being a little to 'uppity' like. That could be true I guess. If you are familiar with Alpharetta, than you can probably imagine what it would be like. I really don't have a problem with it. I feel like it is very diverse and I don't feel those vibes being given off by people. You also can't really expect this place to be a hardcore gym. You got soccer moms and dads, kids, hardcore lifters, beginners and everything in between. I am sometimes disappointed because they could have more squat racks, but usually I have no trouble getting one because no one is using them. And while it isn't the most hardcore place, they have no problem with hardcore lifters. They don't really mind if you accidentally drop the weights every now and then, or 'grunt'. They don't have policies against squatting or doing dead lifts. If I were to bash it, I would say that they can be pretty strict. About things like guest policies,but can't blame them for wanting to run a tight ship. I also know it can be pretty difficult to cancel. Signing up can sometimes be overwhelming and expensive, but if you are a great negotiator you can avoid some of those costly sign up fees. It can also become very crowded at peak hours in the AM, and around 6pm. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who will appreciate all they have to offer. It is expensive compared to LA fitnes and other places, but they offer so much more. Like any membership, just make sure you are utilizing it to it's fullest, because if you do, it seems like a steal. read more

I started to give it 3 stars but it is a lifetime fitness and from my experiences lifetime gyms are on a different level than most. Tonight I forgot my headphones. I'll never do that again. The music selection in the gym is mediocre at best. The selections I heard were better suited for a waiting room than a gym. One video/song played for a second time while I was there. It was enough to make me just call it a night. The equipment is in average condition at this club. I used a rowing machine that had a rattle to it. And a leg curl machine that had a weight that would stick on the way down. The club is better than most but as a whole Lifetime Fitness clubs are normally better. read more

They have great facility, but very poor corporate customer service. I am pissed off specially by their referral scheme, where they give you Life Time bucks and don't even tell you where all you can spend. When I called their customer service, they say they cannot explain to every member how you can use your Lifetime Bucks. Are they so dumb. Even a simple email notification with all the explanation works out as efficient method. On top of that it expires in 30 days. I haven't seen such a cheap referral scheme for an organization which calls itself elite in the industry. I agree they provide nice facility for being very expensive compared to others. If you're comparing this to LA fitness (which I am a former member of) there simply is no comparison. Lifetime is like the Mercedes of gyms. LA fitness is the Kia....... or at least how Kias used to be. So since there's so much to say about this great place I'm gonna divide it up into sections I care about. Cleanliness - the place is immaculate. Nuff said Pool area - they have a large indoor and outdoor area. Both areas have 2 separate lap pools. One is for your more serious swimmers the other is shorter, more shallow and surprisingly warm. Two hot tubs in both areas. A sauna and steam room and the outdoor area even has a juice bar. Both areas have huge spiraling water slides and there is also a nice sized toddler pool. I see swim classes often and there is a swim team that meets there. Actual workout area- probably about 3 times the size of LA fitness...... no exaggeration. They have a ton of free weights and machine weights. You never have to wait to use them. Some of the bikes and treadmills have charger connector thingies(1 for iphone and 1 for every other phone) Several rooms for every class you can think of (zumba, insanity, etc). Spin class is nice and they just updated the bikes. They have a separate area for yoga and pilates that has all the equipment and certified yoga and pilates trainers Child care - my youngest son goes here. Decent child to caretaker ratio. It has a basketball court in the very back. A spirally slide thingy. Playhouse. About 10 computers along the wall. A nice sized toddler play area and an infant section full of swings and bouncy thingies. You have to get a membership for your child to use it (I pay 20 bucks a month) but it's worth it. Locker rooms - stocked with plenty of fresh towels and hair dryers. Rows of nice showers you almost don't need shower shoes for (almost). Also has a steam room and sauna. Small bathroom though. Only 3 stalls. They have a separate family locker room. Other amenities: There is a little cafe with good and tastyfood. Club sandwiches, salads, all natural and organic smoothies, even pizza. Not too pricey either. They have a spa where you can get massages, manicures/pedicures, even your hair done. Haven't used it yet but I plan to. There are other things like two full sized basketball courts, wall climbing, and a few racquetball courts. I have to add that this gym is pricey. About twice the cost of LA. But you do get what you pay for here and then some. read more

It is a nightmare working with the staff there! I have been trying to cancel my membership for nearly two months now, and even though I followed all the policies outlined in my contract, worked with the staff, called multiple numbers, sent emails... they either tell me "your membership cancellation has been taken care of" or "we have received no notice of your membership cancellation". The people who work here are either very incompetent, or crooks. Never had such terrible customer service in my life. They have continued to charged me for a monthly membership, even after telling me multiple times that I had successfully cancelled my membership. After calling on the phone, I was told that they couldn't "find" anything about me cancelling my membership. Absolutely horrible customer service! read more

More appropriately termed a "health club" than a gym, this unique franchise brings together modern gym and fitness services paired with unique social experiences (team sports, running / cycling clubs, childcare), spa services, and a healthy dining facility. The basics are all there: from ellipticals to treadmills, bikes, free weights, machines and stretching mats. Not premier with each having their own television, but in good condition, functional, and responsive to most heart rate monitoring equipment. Nothing that really outdoes the competition for the bare bones gym rat. If you want lots of compression suits, technology, mirrors, and vanity... head to another gym However, if you are like most families you want a place you can go where everyone has something to do and benefit from... ie the health club. There are indoor and outdoor pools staffed with lifeguards. Separate swimming lanes from recreational areas and waterslides and watefalls for kids. Rock climbing walls, basketball / volleyball courts, squash, spinning classes, yoga studios, and first rate child care with birthday parties, etc. that really provide that "all inclusive" feel that justifies the roughly 100% premium you pay in membership compared to the local competition. They even offer leagues and groups suited to each lifestyle that let you vary your fitness goals with your likes and dislikes. The Spa and Cafe really give it a resort feel with in house stylists, cuts, massages, nail treatments, etc. and extremely healthy dining options for very reasonable prices. Studies show you get more out of fitness if you enjoy doing it. Lifetime seems to have found a very effective model at retaining their customers and keeping them committed to... you guessed it, a Lifetime of Fitness. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week for the most part. I honestly think it is worth the premium if you take advantage of it. If you're looking for a treadmill or free weights and thats it... this isnt the right type of gym for you. read more

I've seen my share of gyms across the country (Equinox, LA Fitness, XSport Fitness, etc) - but none of them quite live up to Lifetime...Equinox is probably the closest. You get a premium environment, trainers, services, and amenities for a reasonable price. As others have mentioned, you can hit this gym during peak hours and still find plenty of equipment to work with, and unlike other gyms in the area, there is no time limit on machine use during those hours. This is great because time limits like that are a big pet peeve of mine!! The only area that is hard to get into during peak hours are the basketball courts, and if it's summer, you can forget about it - too many summer camps going on!! But if you have kids, then I suppose those camps are great. Every trainer I've worked with was professional and well educated and were great about answering my questions, or dishing out any nutrition advice (or where to get it) when needed! They're also great about varying the workouts so you don't get bored. I haven't tried the pool yet...kinda waiting to be in better shape before squeezing myself into an itty bitty suit. The outdoor pool is a big hit during the summer, and there seems to be plenty of aquatics classes going on at the indoor pool. As for the spa - I haven't been (yet), but my boyfriend went there for a massage and had nothing but good things to say. Lastly the Café is a great stop after working out. Their Fast Fuel shakes are delicious, and the sandwiches taste good too. Overall, I highly recommend a membership here over other gyms in the area. read more

I have just received a price for the Lifetime Fitness Sandy Springs and they quoted a price of $136 per month for a single membership in addition to a so called "Admin Fee" of $129 and the rep stated that he would "waive" the enrollment fee. I read the reviews and from what is being described other gyms especially LA Fitness offer the same amenities except the 24 Hour access which is not really needed. How does it justify the over 4x increase of membership fee than others? I am just curious to know. read more

How is that during the whole process... I went in to cancel, stated that I wanted to cancel, was told that my membership was being cancelled... How is it that the sales guy that told me I was good, never asked me to sign anything? Are the guests supposed to request to sign the document when they go in to cancel? That seems idiotic. Shouldn't the service provider say 'Oh, you want to cancel, you'll have to sign this document."? I cant believe that I have been charged for this membership for over almost two years. I was told upon signing that I would be released after 4 weeks if I never used my membership. Now, I am realizing that you have been charging me this whole time. For A GYM that strives on honesty, above and beyond, you literally took a cheap ass shot!! I could take you to court but I never received a copy of the contract your slimy sales rep showed me. I guess thats how you stay in business, sucking the fat and depressed dry for trying and being too trust worthy to believe your bullshit! I never even received a call, I was just another fat person to sign up and you take my money! You sold me on a different gym/lifestyle approach and you were absolutely worse than any other gym. Terrible customer service. I used to go to this gym every day but stopped due to the pandemic. I canceled my membership earlier this year with every intention of going back when it is safe for me and my family (we have a one-year-old baby now) and long story short, they ignored my cancellation and kept charging me. I called back and AGAIN was told that they would wipe the past due amount for the months AFTER my initial cancellation. They didn't do it, and now they are saying they will not cancel the balance without me providing a doctor's note... saying that I am unable to go to the gym...seriously...during COVID. I have a child, he's 1, he is a high risk...watch the news... why do I have to teach them about this? They said their employees told me the wrong information, and that I would have never been allowed to cancel over the phone...only I was..twice. Now I am paying for Lifetime's apparent inability to keep their staff abreast of their internal policies. This is a LIFETIME problem, and they made it a me problem. read more

The facility is very impressive. It's like a luxury hotel without hotel rooms. The equipment is in great shape, they amenities are excellent and way beyond any old gym. So they get one extra star. Unfortunately, you're better off going to just a regular gym, because the staff is so dysfunctional and customer service here is so poor that there is no chance you can use anything that requires a reservation or adhering to a schedule. Take children's dance classes for example: in four weeks, the instructor failed to show up for 3 weeks, and then the fourth week the instructor brought no music...to a dance class. How about swimming lessons? We signed up, paid up, however every week our child was not "on the list." The end result was staff cramming our 3-year old into a full class resulting in a 5-1 kid-to-instructor ratio, or putting our kid in either a mommy-and-me class for 1-year olds, or a class with 5-year olds. Even if everything went right, we were lucky if our child had a swim instructor on weekend mornings who wasn't hung over from partying until 4am the night before. The staff is completely dysfunctional - no one talks to anyone else there, no one department knows what the other is doing, and staff turnover for activities is incredibly high. Do yourself a favor and save your money and go to a cheaper gym, or work out at home. read more

As a member of LA Fitness since 2003, I was curious to check out all the hype surrounding Lifetime... And I was impressed. As other reviewers have noted, Lifetime is loaded with amenities: a rock climbing area, salon, cafe, family friendly locker rooms, water slides... I could go on, but all these features are just icing on the cake. At its core, Lifetime is a massive gym with enough equipment to work out every muscle in your body a hundred times over. My only complaint is that some of the weightlifting equipment is a little old when compared to the newer LA Fitness locations such as Brookhaven and John's Creek... and the water from the fountains tastes a little funky. But by and large, Lifetime's facilities are well enough equipped to meet the needs of even the most seasoned weightlifter. The $60 per month fee is on the pricey side, but you certainly get what you pay for. read more
