They have a good gym and pool but the LifeCafe app needs to be improved. Employees are very nice especially Gabriel.

The facility is fine. If you want to cancel your membership, it takes an act of congress. They also continue to charge you for a couple months before you can "cancel". Any halo from the equipment and services was quickly erased by the horrific cancel experience. I guess that's why they call it "Lifetime Fitness". read more

Their hot tub had frothy stuff on top of it. I went into the hot tub and started getting a rash shortly thereafter. Went to the Doctor and he said (within 10 seconds) it was hot tub folliculitis which according to the CDC is from severely neglected hot tubs. Lifetime claims their hot tubs are tested every 2 hours. their own local staff laughed and said "not hardly". Member beware! Avoid the hot tubs. You have to assume that people are lazy and do not do what they are supposed to when it comes to their health. How neglected does it have to be to get a bacterial infection. YUCKY!!!! read more

I joined LTF in order to participate in a fitness challenge being hosted by the gym. I arrived for an assessment, only to be pressured to buy extremely expensive personal training sessions and ridiculously overpriced supplements. I declined them all and after that was routinely ignored by the trainers during the group challenge sessions. If I asked questions, I was given a 1 sentence answer and then they'd walk away to help someone who had paid for training sessions (mind you, this was during group sessions...which I paid for). I quit midway through because it was humiliating to be so obviously ignored in front of others. I had a fellow-member ask what I had done to piss the trainers off so bad. Lifetime Fitness only cares about making money off of their members. They DO NOT care about their members. read more

Is there a way to leave a zero star rating? This gym is the worst. Where do I start??? There are many issues starting with the "sales agents" that are there to collect a check and that's about it, not very enthusiastic not very knowledgeable. The complimentary "training specialist" had the same issue and was late to our session (I was dressed and ready to go but I guess 10AM is way to early for them). The overall cleanliness of the club is average at best, and from what I'm told by other members they have closed the pools down several times for excrement in the pools (both adult and kid pools)... Aaaaa no thank you, I'll pass!!! This club is not an inexpensive club and should have way better standards and service. Bottom line is this club is not for me. I thought it was a nice gym/club but looks are very deceiving here. PASS on this one and find a real gym. read more

When Lifetime first opened I got a free 7 day membership. During my 7 days at this gym....oh no I'm sorry "Health Spa" I was reminded again and again of how poor and out of shape I was. I mean granted I was 20 lbs heavier but I didn't need a $300 personal trainer, nor did I need some meat head steroid freak telling me what I could and could not eat. I'll eat a big mac for breakfast if it pleases me JERK! Needless to say, after my 7 day tenure I did not return. I resumed my life of binge eating and working out. 1 week ago, the family I work for told me that they had bought me a lifetime membership for my birthday present (oh goody! :-/) I usually tend to hold grudges but I decided that I was going to be the bigger person (not due to my big mac binges) and try it again. At first I was disappointed with lifetime, now I'm just pissed off. I brought the child I nanny for in there and tried to take him to daycare. I was then greeted by a disgruntled woman with 20 kids behind her. She told me (rudely) that day care wasn't on my plan and I had to leave. Fine. So the kid and I decide to go into the pool. I try to take the child (who is a 5 year old boy) into the women's bathroom. Two staff members come sprinting up to me and inform me that I cannot take a child "this old" into the bathroom. I don't know what mother/nanny/dad or anyone would let a 5 year old walk around those huge bathrooms by themselves but that's beside the point. So I find a unisex bathroom. Now, I am thinking that unisex means women can bring their male kids in. I didn't realize that the entire staff (male and female) can walk through the changing room. So not one, but two men saw me butt ass naked. Granted I'm a bit of a free spirit and probably made both of those guys day, but anyone else would have been very embarrassed. When we finally made it to the pool, the chemicals in the air made my eyes burn. I've been a swimmer/lifeguard for most of my life and let me tell you, the amount of chlorine in that pool in unsafe. My skin is still burning and if my golden locks aren't green by tomorrow it will be a miracle. Overall, the staff at this place is incompetent. It seems that everyone is in a bad mood and no one knows whats going on. I hope the sandy springs location is better because I cannot see myself ever coming here again. I read more

It used to be a 5 star facility...but no more. I've been a member for a couple of years and this location has taken a turn for the worse in the last year. Staff turnover has left us with uncaring young folks with no customer service skills. They act as though you're there at their convenience. Not a smile or a hello and I go there 1-2 times weekly for 2 years now. If you haven't purchased any training they treat you with apathy and apparent disdain. Locker rooms are messy, and often out of towels. Bathrooms are often dirty and unkempt and showers look like they aren't getting much cleaning either. I can't remember when all three (two indoors and one out) hot tubs have all been working at the same time. Often one or two are out of service. They cleared out a huge amount of space in the upstairs gym to sell more training and forced the members to squeeze into the remaining space to workout. Equipment is packed in tight and the number of popular universal machines have been reduced. There used to have several available with no waiting time. Now they've reduced the number of stationary weight stations and I frequently have to stand around and wait for an unoccupied machine. And, I've had occasions where there are no towels in the gym for over an hour - c'mon guys. Lousy attitude by many of the staff just compounds the problem. I go to the Woodstock and John's Creek locations more often since the original gym layout is still there, no waiting on equipment, friendly staff and clean locker rooms. Life Time is a good company but the Alpharetta location needs some remedial work. read more

This is a great gym my only complain is the zumba class one of the instructor literally spent 80 percent of the class looking at herself in the mirror with her back to the group. Really disappointed in this Lifetime. They revamped it about a year ago, and let me tell you...the changes made were for the worst in my opinion. First of all, they removed tons of weight machines, and built a wooden floor space for training and group workouts. That's fine if that's what you like to do, but I am there for lifting weights. So they got rid of what seems to be half of the weight machines, including my favorite ab machine. Smart, right? Less equipment to maintain, and then raise the membership fees, which always seem to be going up. Lifetime has its pluses. They supply towels, have sanitation wipes for the equipment, and offer tons of cardio equipment so you don't have to wait. $75 a month is hefty, since I only use the weights, but I do like the Johns Creek location. They have a spa and food cafe, too, for those who are into that. Facials are $100, though. Way overpriced. I really hope they don't change the JC location like this one, or I'm finding a new gym! read more

I cancelled my membership with lifetime 3 months ago and they still charge my credit card. Their billing and customer service department is horrible. There is no real advantage to lifetime unless you want to do all the classes and activities, but to use the machines, any other gym is about the same. read more

I have been going to this Life Time facility for more than 6 years. I love their classes and instructors and the facility is very clean. I have very high praise for their manager Nick Campbell who dealt with a situation I had with kindness, compassion and understanding. Would highly recommend this place. read more

I join this place a few years ago after leaving the YMCA because for the same reasons this place is now doing. I swim laps after work, but its starting to be an impossible task. The past couple years the gym has been pushing out the individual person and scheduling swim team during the same prime time as when people get off work. I also have noticed that workers will walk through the locker room and not say anything to the people using their camera capable cell phones or asking parents with children to use the family locker room. read more

I love this place. It has helped me achieve and maintain weight loss goals beyond my wildest dreams. I'm here 6 days a week if I'm able to be. I enjoy the routine. HOWEVER, a bad experience is usually what triggers me to write a review for a place that I might otherwise enjoy. On a Tuesday at about 1:15 PM, while I was working out on a treadmill, an employee unplugged the machine I was in the middle of using to plug in her vacuum cleaner. There were two outlets on the floor in front of me, and I guess she had to take mine out and put it in the other one so she could plug in. She was listening to music on headphones, completely oblivious to everything, despite having to have seen me because she was right in front of me while disabling my machine. No acknowledgment whatsoever, even after I stood there in disbelief giving her the stunned/angry "what the ^%^&? You just unplugged me!" look. The machine wouldn't come back on. She had put the plug for the treadmill in a non-working outlet, it appeared. I had to move over to the next one, which by the way, nobody was using, so she could have easily borrowed the outlet for that one instead (or for one of the MANY vacant machines near me). I know this is a first-world problem, but my momentum while I'm running is very important to me. I don't like having it interrupted or messed with. She is Caucasian, has dark brown hair, looks to be in her 50s, and from what I was able to decipher from her name tag, her name starts with a J and has four letters. It's either Joan or Jean. For the most part, though, I can't praise this place enough. Just keep Joan/Jean away from my plug (and everybody's plug, for that matter). read more

Thank you Lifetime for giving me back my pre-college body. Lets just say four years of college- no sports teams- way too much beer- it did wonders for my body. Wonders as in, how do my clothes no longer fit!? Anyways I joined the gym after I graduated- and am sad to say that I will no longer be part as I am going to be moving, and this gym will no longer be convenient to home nor to my job. The fact that I feel sad about moving ITP because I will miss coming to the gym every morning, and seeing the personable staff who I have come to enjoy seeing every morning (even if it is 6am- and I am NOT a morning person) should say something about how I feel about this place. I have never been swamped at this gym. There is without fail always cardio machines of my choice, always room in the free weights sections, and never a long wait for the weight machine of your choice. I love having room to lift weights, and always get your own little section so you don't feel as though you are on top of the person who is next to you. They have a lot of other amenities as well which I have not utilized as much as I should have for the high monthly rate that I pay. They have many pools, outdoor pools, water slides, a salon, a cafe, and a rock climbing wall. Most important to me though was the showers. I go to the gym before work every morning and seeing as I am not the sort of girl to go to the gym and not sweat- it is important that I can shower and get ready every morning! They have great towels and clean locker rooms that provide you with hair dryers, changing rooms and full length mirrors. All in all if you can handle the criticism of the stay at home moms who seem to constantly be casting judgment, you will love this gym. The gym is clean, big, and well kept. Every once and a while you might also spot a cute trainer there as well! read more

Use to work here so I am well aware of the ins and outs of the establishment. This is a great gym/spa/pool... whatever you need it ti be, lifetime will play the role. HAS EVERYTHING YOU WANT. Only downside is unfriendly staff and prices. Policies are also very strict pertaining to bringing guests or children. Found out a trainer at the alpharetta club sold drugs to a family member. I informed Lifetime about it and he is still working there. They claim healthy way of life...bs. Protect your families and ban/quit lifetime. Been a member for over 6 years. Aside from this new issue that is a deal killer, they got a new GM in the last year. Since then the club has fallen apart. Most the loyal and quality staff has left cause the new GM. Good luck ever finding him in his office. He is never there, and when he is he is usually just working out. Over 6 years I've become psuedo (professional) friends with most the staff. Even the few that are left all acknowledge that the new GM is a cancer to this place. They all resent him. So the service and maintenance of the club has got horrible since he took over. It's dirty and equipment doesn't get fixed soon when it breaks. The pools are the only thing lifetime has that most other area gyms can't compete with. But they are not cleaned well and the family swim hours are a guessing game (they don't follow what's posted). Recently the indoor water slides were "supposed" to be open 1-5pm. Yet the water slides were shut down for 45 minutes in the middle of that time cause one life guard needed a lunch break. I'm all about breaks and treating employees needs. But a 4 hour shift taking 45 minutes out? Mind you there are 10-15 minute safety breaks every hour. And all the while 2 supervisors stood on the side chatting rather than step in for the 1 missing guard station. Sounds like a small issue, but it's one of many ways the service has lowered since the new GM took over and pushed away their best employees. read more

You can buy all the gym equipment that you will ever need for bodybuilding and fitness with the money that you save by not going here. Close to $200 for an initiation fee and another $85-$95 each month. THATS A $1000 A YEAR FOR A GYM!! Employees are incredibly rude and some even made me want to get in a fist fight with them. After going for a swim in the pool I came out with wads of hair all over my body. Gym equipment is always broken and some of them smell so bad you are unable to stay near them. It is so CROWDED that you will leave in a frustrated mood every time because you were unable to workout properly. From 8am to 10 pm it is packed, all weight benches and machines are taken and sometimes people will stand there waiting for you to get off of the machine or bench to make your experience just a little bit more pleasant. Be prepared for them to be super nice when you are first signing up. After that they become the rudest money hungry strangers that you will ever have to deal with at a gym. read more

This is what gyms should be. You pay for it, of course, but it's worth it. The gym is beautiful and clean. There's so much equipment, I've never experienced a wait. Lifetime offers so much that there's no reason to ever be bored. It's easy to spend hours here between classes, cafe and spa. The only downside I've encountered is that much of the food in the cafe isn't that healthy; I'd expect more from a cafe in a gym. Staff treats you with respect--never attitude. I love Lifetime Fitness and just wish there were a location closer to me (Sandy Springs). read more

Take your children to the childcare center here at your own peril! Ask them about their "raving ratio" and make sure they specifically always have someone in your child's area supervising. They are never appropriately staffed and we always had to force them to specifically have someone in the toddler area, not watching from the check in desk or another area. This review is focused on the Lifetime Fitness Spa. It's convenient to have the spa in the gym as I can workout, shower, and head to the spa without leaving the building. What makes the spa for me are the following three people that work there: (1) Paula M (for haircuts and highlights), (2) Vicki B (BEST pedicurist EVER for me!! and (3) Ashley (for friendly and relaxing facials). Just wanted to give these three ladies my thumbs up. They recommend products, but are never pushy, reasonably priced and always to a great job. The spa decor is quite nice, but the only thing missing is a bathroom. You have to go to the change room to use the restroom and it's on the other side of the building (past the main front desk, cafe, and offices). The spa should really have it's own dedicated restroom with shower. Hope LTF can add a restroom in the spa when it comes time to renovate this facility. read more

We joined Lifetime about a year ago. Since joining our rates have gone up 3x, while the level of service is on the decline. The women's locker room is simply dirty. The showers have mold in them, there is always hair clogging the drain, and the bathroom stalls are just gross. I have tried the Spa, and I could most definitely get a better highlight and cut from an amateur. Sr. Stylist you say?? Ha. And the salon staff proceeded to bring in McDonalds to eat for lunch, and ate it out in the open where every guest could enjoy the lovely smell. Not exactly the smell I am looking for when going to a salon/spa or a gym. The equipment is great, as are the classes and trainers. Member services lacks in service, so not sure of their purpose. Surprisingly very satisfied! I am usually skeptical of gyms and the membership programs. As a past member of 24hr fitness and balleys you figure they are always trying to screw you somehow. I met with Eddie (manager) and he was looking to get me the best deal possible. He even looked to see if my company had a discount. Really nice guy and truly knows a thing or two about customer service. Highly recommend this place and working with Eddie. Well done Lifetime. read more

Loved my massage today w Shay-Ann! Great energy and fantastic deep tissue massage. When I came in I could barely stand up straight after weeks of travel. I'm leaving with NO pain in my neck or back. Absolutely love this gym. Never was big on mega gyms but apparently as you get older things change lol. I love the fact that it is 24 hours and you don't have to wait for equipment. I will always have a love hate relationship with this place. I love the variety of machines and the overall huge space of this gym. It has every piece of equipment you could imagine or want. It stays open 24/7 which is a great thing. So why the two stars? The constant price inflation the pool situation and lack of customer service. When I started way back in 2004 with them it was 34.00. At the time I felt it was fair considering how much you get. However it is now up to 79.00 a single person! To me that seems greedy and unnecessary. The pool is a hot mess. People not showering. unwatched children/teenagers who are a major irritation and the swim team practices which take over the pool area forever. There are also groups of people who just sit in the hot tub in their underwear which I find revolting. MANY but not all of the team members are clueless and rude. I should never see employees texting especially in the locker room area. They also try to hawk goods and services which I find very annoying. The do not stop young kids who are using the equipment unsupervised. They also blare those same services and commercials on the overhead lifetime fitness channel. In the morning when its empty the overhead is sooooooooo loud. When I asked the front desk to turn it down they said they couldn't. I wanted to love this place but instead I cancelled my membership. read more

Great trainers very knowledgeable, cafe serves tasty healthy meals and great protein shakes and smoothies, plenty of towels and friendly, helpful employees, two basketball courts a nice size rock climbing wall 6 squash courts 3 pools 2 inside, a lap pool and all purpose with two slides outdoor with two slides huge cardio area and weight area and plenty of classes yoga Pilates's Zumba etc. saunas two roomy jacuzzis and a great spa, Mondays $10 men's cut with Erin, she does a great job read more

This gym has become a joke! they have had there pool and spa shut down for almost 2 months now, there steam room works every third day and they don't have the staff to actually make sure the shelves are stocked with towels! I have been a member at the Alpharetta location since they opened. I liked it better when it was newer. Now I don't think the cost is worth it. If my company didn't give me a gym reimbursement allowance each month, I would have canceled years ago. Group fitness keeps me coming back. One last comment, watch your auto draft accounts very closely. LTF increased the amount coming out of your account this year without notice. They said they sent me an email notification , but I never found it in my inbox. read more

I will give it 1 star because 0 is not an option. The facility is average, the equipment is average, the cleanliness is below average. But the people, the policies, and the value as compared to its competitors make this a gym to avoid. And then, trying to cancel your membership and the continued billing......Don't even get me started. read more
