Such SUBSTANTIAL improvements and updates were made since I last reviewed this location. Not just with equipment but also the flooring ~ No more nappy carpets..! There's a new turf area for HIIT and free weight workouts. All the other machines were methodically rearranged: you can find an ab isolated area by the bathrooms and even a mat area on the second floor with the cardio. Things you should know: I. PARKING There is a massive, free parking lot out front of the main entrance. II. SERVICE No complaints, but nothing outstanding to say either. III. QUALITY They have a wider variety than other locations we've been to. This particular location is best diversified for weighted back and leg exercises. Other LA fitnesses nearby just don't have what they have..! In the cardio areas there are televisions, which is nice because not all LA Fitnesses have that luxury of a distraction. IV. CAPACITY Busy during your standard rush hour times. Lunch time seems to be the time to go or weekends.

The equipments could some updates or maybe some fixing. I dont want to use the elliptical and have it making a weird noise every time I make a move. Some of the mats for you to stretch on can be replaced, it has been peeling and the colors are fading. The staff is less than friendly.

Friendly staff and great facilities 10/10. I managed to keep the same work outs because of the variety of equipment.

This gym also has a smell of cat litter. Not sure if it's the rubber floors or what, but the bottom floor really stinks. Other than those two, a gym is a gym and I'm there to work out. The owner, Dan Owens, instructs these classes often and will absolutely crush your upper and lower body in the best possible way. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure every person in the room knows what to do and helps with form if necessary and welcomed. Another great perk is access to the locker rooms and saunas. I feel the entire facility is kept clean and organized. I love the big windows everywhere which allow for a ton of natural light to come inside. I also enjoy using the indoor/outdoor green space on the bottom floor which has a garage door that can open and close depending on the weather. Very nice during Spring, Summer and early Fall. I never feel like I have to wait for equipment to free up, and they do offer complimentary towels at the front desk upon check-in. This athletic club is on ClassPass and I typically just purchase gym time using a couple credits or I sign up for the circuit or conditioning classes.

I really loved the number of pools, spa areas, and play zones for kids. It's definitely a fun and family-friendly spot. But unfortunately, my visit took a bad turn. I slipped and fell on a very slick floor -- and I hadn't even been in the water yet. There was no caution sign at the spot, and it only appeared hours after my fall. My leg is still sore, and it completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing day. A friend invited me and she's a huge fan of this place, so I really wanted to enjoy it too. But safety should come first. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves the floor safety. Sadly, 3 stars from me for now.

Despite that, the associate responded by asking if I would be the guest. The interaction was surprising and uncomfortable, as it appeared an assumption was made about who held the membership. My guest and I found the comment inappropriate, and it left us questioning whether unconscious bias played a role in the exchange. I believe all members should be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism, regardless of their race or appearance. While this may not have been the associate's intention, the experience left a negative impression and is something management should address through staff training and awareness.

There is help and encouragement when you need it, and the environment makes you want to come back and workout again, and again. In terms of cleanliness, Core 57 is a 10/10. I have yet to see dust on anything. Cleaning spray bottles and towels are provided to every member during the class and cleaning is required after each use of equipment and announced by the trainers. It is a small group setting (personal training is offered and classes have 4 members to 12 members depending on the class), so I feel comfortable working out even during a pandemic. There are also restrooms and 2 showers available in case you might need to get ready post workout. This is not the kind of gym where you walk on the treadmill for an hour and blindly figure out what equipment to use. This is the solution if you're looking to add lean muscle mass, enjoy getting to know other gym members and like the daily involvement of a knowledgeable, fun, and dedicated owner. And for women who are intimidated by lifting and strength training, this is your breakthrough solution because many of the women members are seasoned competitive lifters of all ages. To be clear, you're not going to find a room full of cardio machines or a schedule of yoga classes. Roswell Barbell is focused on building strength and has all the equipment you need to accomplish this goal. Despite its small size, there's plenty of equipment to use. I've been going for six months, starting as a white collar novice lifter who had never used a barbell in his life and didn't understand how chalk was used. The team here has supported my training, taught me the skills, and made it fun, healthy, and respectful. Now, I spend 3-4 days a week lifting heavy things, challenging my body to get stronger, and learning from some of the best athletes. I leave chalky and exhausted, and motivated to come back again. Strength training is one component of health and gyms like Roswell Barbell are exactly what people need, not the terrible big box gyms full of corporate salespeople and terribly unhealthy messaging.
