Have been a member for over 5 years and my husband even longer. Had multiple encounters with 2 other rude females verbally abusing me and shouting profanity at me multiple times. This was reported to multiple people. It took 6 months for them to actually contact the other members and they "didn't remember ever saying anything". Hello Corporate Office, I have been trying to get in touch with someone and my local club didn't help me. Your guest policy is trash. If I want to bring the same person to the gym with me on MY two guest passes, I should be able to do that! Essentially I pay for these guest passes and who cares if they are john, jacob, or joe! The friend I want to bring is the only one I have here and I want to use MY guest passes on them. The weight of one person isn't different than the other when it comes to my two guest passes. You wouldn't have a gym if it wasn't for the people like me who pay for it, so considering changing your policy for the fairness of the people paying to use your gym. I have already been looking for another gym where I can bring who I want as my guest when I want that doesn't pack on dumb rules. Also, earlier this year, a member was walking around with a piece of paper trying to get people to sign to redo the basketball court at my club. I mean that's pathetic. He shouldn't have to do that! Basically the same set-up as all the other local clubs, but this one was not my favorite. Bathrooms in the family bathoom were filthy. I understand it's probably hard to keep them clean during busy pool hours, but these were just gross. TP all over, dirty towels laying around- but this should be member responsibility to clean up . Floors were also really dirty. Stuff caked on. Indoor whirlpools were shut down and drained, must have been being repaired and hopefully cleaned. Outdoor pool area seems crammed in comparison to the Lakeville club. The Lakeville ones seems to have a lot more room, this set-up just felt kind of crammed. It was nice to have this club to stop at on our way home, but I enjoy our normal visited clubs way more. read more

I never feel more at home in a gym than I do at lifetime. Spotless facilities, friendly staff, great atmosphere, just a fantastic community all around. My one (and ONLY) complaint is with the guest pass policy. I've never understood the point of so few guest passes, as well as not being able to bring the same guest more than once a month, but if that's my only complaint then lifetime is clearly doing something right. This is a standard Lifetime Fitness facility. But this location has TIM in the spa. I'm hesitant of letting out my little secret, but he is one of the best deep tissue/sports therapy massage therapists ever!! I'm a frequent business traveler. I'm on on a plane 3-4 times a month and needed some serious deep tissue therapy while on a recent trip to Minneapolis. Tim really listened to my requests before we started. Furthermore, he listened to what my tight muscles told him to do. Any massage therapist can apply pressure. But Tim's technique was top notch. I literally felt like a new woman when I left and slept like a baby that night! Some advice for novice deep tissue clients: remember to breathe! Similar to yoga, you have to remember to breathe to get the most out of the session. Big inhales...then big exhales when the pressure gets intense. Relax. And if you feel like you're tensing up, the pressure is likely too much. Don't hesitate or be too proud to speak up. The therapist will be glad you did. Any you'll feel so much better for it too. I kid, but I'm serious, Tim is so good, he'll wind up working at some 5-star resort before you know it. So take advantage of a 5-star massage resort massage at the convenient location of your local gym. Tim doesn't work every day, so be sure to call the spa for his appointment. Enjoy! read more

I really love how they are a whole Health Club, not just a gym. They really are a healthy way of life company that cares about your overall health. When you have your initial one-on-one health assessment with your personal trainer, they go beyond just helping you with my outside, physical goals, but you discuss your nutrition lifestyle, stress levels (causes and solutions), and it really helps you inside and out! They have group classes, if motivating yourself to run gets old. Loads of different types, some dancing, some martial arts related, some straight strength & cardio. I love that they have a separate lap pool for adults to primarily use for lap swimming and fitness. I say primarily because more often than we would have liked, we had to give up lanes to the youth swim team as well at the same time as giving up lanes for the water aerobics class. It makes it difficult to get the right speed going for 5 people crammed into one lane, when everyone is at different fitness levels. But it was nice and cool temp wise, as apposed to the "fun pool" for swim lessons and kids where that is kept at a very very comfortable & warm temp for the little ones, which is FABULOUS! The upstairs has TONS of cardio & weight machines, it is awesome! I just tried the rowing machine for the first time, and loved it! It is nice to switch up the cardio from just running all the time, or ellipticaling! There is so much variety here! You are sure to meet your health and fitness goals doing something that you love and ENJOY! Which isn't that key?! To not feel like it's just something mundane and horrible you have to get through, just because you "have to"? Go to Life Time, sample EVERYTHING and find something you are obsessed with and passionate about... because if it's not there, I don't know WHERE you'll find it! Overall, I seriously love this place... I LOVE that it's a health club, and not just a 24/7 gym in a strip mall somewhere. I have been a lifetime fitness member for almost 20 years and have almost always enjoyed the facilities and amenities. Recently I have felt a decline in the customer service at the gyms and experienced a more high pressured sales mentality of the staff. A recent customer service incident with Claire in the corporate office has reinforced our decision to cancel our membership and prevent us from recommending Lifetime to friends and family. We no longer live near a Lifetime and after having our membership on hold for 9 months we were charged a monthly fee (increased from last year.) A reminder email was sent, but ended up in our spam folder. I asked to be refunded the fee, but was told they wouldn't do it and that it was all in our contract. There was no attempt to make things right or even empathize with my frustration. Her tone was dismissive and condescending. When asked to speak with her superior I was told that they wouldn't take my call. At this point it's not about the money, but the disrespect and rudeness from the customer service representative-Claire. After twenty years as a customer I expected to be treated with some level of respect and kindness. A positive interaction may have not changed our decision to cancel today, but has severely effected our view of Lifetime Fitness and what we will share about our experience with others. read more

We were members of Lifetime in Chanhassen for 3 years. We finally decided to cancel our membership due to the cost. But along with that I didn't feel like we were getting the best value for our money. It is a beautiful club I will say that with a large indoor and outdoor pool. They have a lot of fitness equipment as well as a good variety of classes. My reservations about it are that its ALWAYS busy, it's busy at night and in the morning, afternoon, always. When I'm paying that much I don't want to have to be bumping elbows while I change clothes, wait for a shower, etc. The levels of the clubs are also very annoying Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Bronze. It's hard to keep track of which club is which level. We were platinum so we could go to MOST clubs but there are still 2 that are close to us that were diamond that we were unable to go to. Lastly, I got really tired of being nickel and dimed all the time. We paid quite a bit for our membership and all over the place there are "extra" classes, clubs, sessions, training that you could sign up for, for an extra fee. Also, their are people soliciting all over the club to get you to do these things. I can't tell you how many times I was approached by trainers to do a "free" fitness assessment so they can get you to buy sessions. I just felt it got really annoying and for the price I think their facilities are nice but their service and constant solicitation for additional services is a little tacky. read more

These guys are crooks. I have had nothing but issues with their billing. I was supposed to have received a discounted membership for $60 per month with no initiation fee and no annual fee, but they charged me $100 per month and even double billed me in my first month. I called to cancel but got the run around and they continued billing me for months thereafter. When I received a bill in the mail they claimed that I had to go in person to cancel. You get what you pay for, right? I feel like that generally holds true, and despite its shortfalls I really do feel like Lifetime is the king of luxury gym chains. Having a Lifetime membership is an obvious luxury. Nobody 'needs' to spend this much on a gym membership, but this place does a fantastic job of making me feel like it is money well spent. It's probably mostly ambiance and marketing, but it works for me. This club is a Platinum level club, so it has some nice amenities. The pros: * Beautiful facility with a "Country Club" feel * Wide range of classes * Tons of cardio, machines and freeweights * More freeweight stations/equipment than the other Twin Cities LTF clubs (that I've been to) * Posh locker rooms with towel service * Mixed Martial Arts studio and indoor climbing wall--I swear I'm going to try those one day * Awesome outdoor pool * Steamroom in lockerroom is nice * Huge jacuzzi hot tub * Liesure pool/Lap pool The cons: * Always looking for ways to get more money out of members * "Free personal training session" felt like a timeshare presentation sales pitch * Expensive * Can get crowded at times * A lot of fit people--not everyone but many--which might make some people self conscious * No Q-Tips, mouthwash or lotion in the locker rooms! I know this a total first world problem, but the Highland Park and Bloomington North locations are lower tier clubs and they have these items available. It blows my mind that this platinum level club has NOTHING. SLP just converted to an Onyx club, but before that they provided Q-Tips, mouthwash, deodorant spray and shaving cream. The inconsistency drives me nuts. Overall I love LTF and this is one of the best clubs I have been to. By investing money in a gym membership, I feel like I was much more ambitious to reach my goals. Heaven on Earth. Friendly staff, always a pleasure to be in a resort atmosphere, welcoming class instructors, friendly lifeguards, and over the top welcoming staff upon entrance. Worth the money if a member frequently goes, can pay small fee to hold membership up to 9 months, if you just want attend during winter. The best attraction is indoor and outdoor hottubs to warm up from swimming. Fitness classes are free and plentiful, helps to have guidance and group motivation. Only downside was remodeling to an empty floor space for personal trainers, I enjoyed the vast array of machines instead. Ample parking and elbow room compared with Plymouth which has 50 % perhaps more guests in the same size gym. This fitness resort is well worth it if you use a pool, basketball court, climbing wall, martial arts studio, hot yoga, sauna, hot tub, waterslide, class studios, spa, cafe, and spin studio. My friend goes to a waterpark hotel for his kids for 1day a month, it's the same price as a singles monthly membership here. I've been working out at this club for 5+ years now, and even though the membership fees are a little higher than the other retail clubs, it's totally worth it for what you get. I bring my kids to do rock climbing, swimming in the pool (especially in the summer time), and the club is never over crowded, so you don't have to wait to use any machines, etc. I did the Group Training last fall to lose some pounds, and it was an awesome experience. It kept me motivated, was great instruction, and I lost 20 lbs in about 4 months which I've kept off for well over a year now. I have never written a review before but I feel compelled to after dealing with Life Time in Chanhassen. My son is a member and is off at college over 100 miles away. We've been trying to cancel his membership for over a month but they say he has to come in person to cancel or send a certified letter. He's not coming home from college until Thanksgiving. They wouldn't accept an e-mail or regular letter so I went there today and hand-delivered a letter of cancellation. I was told that his membership wouldn't be cancelled for another 30 days. The bottom line is don't join Life Time if you think you may want to cancel someday. They do everything they can to make it so you can't quit. read more

This is a good club and my family has been members for almost 7 years. Most of the classes are free however I am mostly into yoga and the classes are mostly for young twenty somethings. I am in my 40's and don't enjoy hot yoga. It is pretty difficult to find a vinyasa that is rigorous but not hot. Two classes are yin and very slow. Root yoga is good but hard to find at this lifetime especially after 5. I'm a teacher so during the school year that's my only option. The other classes offered are a lot of cardio and with lots of jumping and lunges which I find are hard to do because my knees aren't what they used to be. It's disappointing this club doesn't offer more for the older generation. A few years back they offered fun alternative classes like belly dancing. Great instructor lots of fun. They also had fusion options with Pilates. All Pilates are an additional cost. Maybe they don't want us old folks there. I still go and usually enjoy the amenities. There are lots of machines, the steam room , hot tub and outside pool in the summer can be nice when you can find a day without splashing kids. Biggest downfall is each year it seems harder to find a class that has some middle ground. In addition, there are fewer if any options on Friday or Saturday nights. Guess that's because the young people play. But, seriously a weekend night class would be great once and a while. read more

Lifetime does a good job of merging the country club and the fitness club into one area. The issue I have with them is they are pricey when snap or 24 hour is much cheaper. What a great location. Yes, Life Time in Chanhassen is busy but they do a great job accommodating the demand. The staff is friendly and the lockers are clean. One of the great things about this location is the variety of equipment throughout the workout area. In addition to the workout floor the have a mixed combat area just off of the basketball courts. The food in the cafe is wonderful. You have the option of purchasing food to order or jus grabbing a healthy meal to go. Ultimately this is a true one stop health shop! This place seems to be becoming very popular around Minnesota along with Anytime Fitness and a few others. What I enjoy about this fitness club is that after a long hard days work at my job the best thing to do is go into the steam rooms and the spa tub located in this facility. A second great thing to do is cool off in the indoor pool either the lap or swimming pool. The gyms offer a rock climbing extravaganza and offers open gym so you can shoot hoops by yourself or with others. There is also an extreme fitness training room. I haven't tried this yet but looks pretty awesome. The kids staff is always so RUDE! I called to ask how late the day care was open this week (to make sure my kids are watched while I do my spin class) and the girl was so rude. She was condescending and basically laughing at me for calling it a day care. Needless to say she chose the wrong housewife to be rude to, I was rude right back and she was left on her heels. Also, I have left my cute littles in their DAYCARE twice and there is no one supervising in each room! My 13 month old was with children who were 10 and a climbing gym he could fall and get hurt. My advice to the DAYCARE staff is to SMILE and BE NICE or quit your 10$ an hour job. It's that simple. read more

Well, despite my years of experience in the food industry in the past it didn't mean anything to her because it wasn't recent experience. Well,SO WHAT??!!! You guys - this place is pricey BUT it is great for families! If you take advantage of the pools, classes and amazing Kids' Academy it's *close* to being worth it. It is busy - the pool is too busy on nice days. I can always get on the machines I want and if get there a bit early - I've always gotten into the classes. I have liked 90% of the classes I've tried. Joined this club again about a month ago. I have had numerous calls from a salesperson asking me how things are going and even one from the manager of the sales team. This is extremely annoying and when I told him to stop calling me, the reply was, "me? I've called you before?" Rather then saying, "oh, I am sorry for bothering you and we won't call again", his defensive tone and general phony attitude is enough to make me want to cancel my membership. Can't cancel membership in a decent manner. First the sales person told my daughter she was getting the "student" rate for the summer and she could cancel before she left for college. She canceled in person, per their requirements, and I never thought about it again. Now it is March 11th and I see I'm still being charged so I call and they say she hasn't cancelled and I have to come in and I have to pay through April since it's past the 5th of the month. When I complained they told me I would have a special privilege of being able to cancel by email and would be charged "student" pricing for April. Student pricing?? I thought she already had student pricing!! Gee thanks. So I complained and they said I didn't have to pay for April. Today we go to lifetime together by use me father membership. One of the lady in front ask for information and everything all right. First and foremost, I want to express my disdain in your Lifetime employes. Sunday was my first day at visiting a Lifetime facility. My friend spoke so highly of the facility and I was inquiring in becoming a member. I never thought I would experience such disparage and humiliation. My friends and I were enjoying being in the pool and decided we wanted to go down the slides since it was "unlocked" and there were NO signs that said "closed". As we saw the employee approaching us "Screaming" to get down we right away headed down and apologized and voiced that we didn't know it was closed. This lady named Ali Becker continues to shout as if we can't comprehend what she is saying. She then threatens to call the cops on us and demands to get our names. All this over a slide being closed and while my friends and I continue to be respectful and remain to be in complete utter shock. Ali Becker continues to harass us and accuse of us trespassing and demanding that we leave. This lady calls another employee on us to basically prove we were members at the club. Mind you that we already went through this process before entering the facility's . Today I have experienced something that has left a bad taste in my mouth, we felt like we were being treated as of juveniles. I cannot comprehend how an individual working in your facility can threaten to call the cops on its own members without any rational cause. I must say, this whole experience has left a ranking resentment in my friends and I. My friends will not do business with you and we will follow up the chain of management command and I have no interest in becoming a member of such place. read more

I was explaining to him how I thought I canceled my membership back in January when I tore my acl. They charged me again this month and I was explaining to him what I thought my understanding was about my membership being canceled.
