This is just my personal experience, not as a gym membership owner. I came in to work an event so this is solely based off that experience. I realize the pricing is $99 for a gym membership up to 300. I do think that's very pricey however they do have kids camp and a kids club, a spa, chiropractic services, Pickleball area a pool there is so much to offer I don't know the details but I'm assuming the more that you have but your plan is what makes the gym membership more costly. However, everything was very clean and very nice. The staff at the front desk was very courteous. I think this would be a great gym for someone looking for all those perks in one place read more

I always love checking out different gym locations, and Life Time is no different! This one has a lot of the same amenities as Frontenac, and it's very nice and well taken care of. They also have a cold plunge, which the other location does not have (it's in the works). I am 1000% not a cold plunge girly but I know some people love it. I have Silver Sneakers, they placed me on a 1-3 month wait list and texts me in about one month. They set me an appointment up for 2 pm today and when I got there I presented my Aetna card and they said that the don't accept Aetna! They didn't offer me a one day pass for my time and gas and when I requested a tour the manager said that he didn't have time to waste!!! But it was ok for them to waste my time and gas 18 miles one way! I complained and a different employee offered me a smoothie for my trouble that I turned down and said I wanted a tour that I was supposed to get at 2pm. So he did The original top supervisor was rude and snobby, but the one who actually gave me the tour was good and nice! If I had been the top supervisor I easily would have offered a one day pass for his mistake! I was the 3rd person that they did it to today! read more

The staff is friendly. I go to work out, not take a bath. They don't accept silver sneakers and tell you that upfront, that's not a problem for me. Without a doubt, this is a five star facility. This place has it all. Gym: Clean, all the equipment you need (plenty of cardio and weights) and it's huge, so it never feels crowded. They also provide towels. Locker Rooms: Amazingly gorgeous. While I can't speak to the ladies side, the men's side is immaculate. Every amenity a guy could want. Roomy lockers with built in locks. Sauna. Showers. Even sinks with free toiletries. Cafe: From smoothies to pizzas to protein bars. Pools: They have an indoor pool and outdoor pool. Very friendly lifeguards. Outside has a cafe (burgers, pizzas, ice cream, beer), water slide for the kids and a hot tub. Perfect pool to bring the family on a hot Saint Louis summer day. Also, plenty of lounge chairs so you can just chill. Next to the indoor pool is a dry sauna and hot tub. Life Time even has a salon for haircuts and nails. No doubt they focus on cleanliness here. read more

5 years in...Life Time is definitely a five star facility offering the latest training equipment, high quality services such as massage therapy, hair salon, nail tech. A full service cafe for every meal hour, dual I door pools & hot tubs. Eucalyptus steam rooms in male & female locker room as well as sauna. Towel service, complimentary toileties and awesome classes from hot Yoga Flow to Core strengthening. Full basketball court, rock climbing wall outdoor pool with slides for the kiddos and cafe for your convenience without tracking water inside during summer season. Moral of this review; can't deny the membership fees are astronomical but so are the amenities. My only slight issue is the LACK of friendliness by certain staff members (personal trainers, salespersons). A handful of the trainers don't even crack a smile let alone greet a member at eye contact. It's rude & unprofessional. A member should not have to be your personal client in order to be acknowledged politely. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's ALWAYS clean. Staff is happy and kind and helpful. But my favorite thing is the day spa. I popped in for a consult and Melissa made my hair soft and beautiful with a wonderful toning service. I'm a picky person, very picky and super allergic to so many random things. But my skin didn't react to any of the products she used and she was so nice about everything. Plus she picked out the perfect color for me. Also the kids academy is incredible! My daughter (age 3) had never been ok with me leaving her anywhere. Not even at Sunday school. But she instantly loved it here. The kids academy staff are all so calm and nice, and the area is clean. She asks to go there every single day. Which helps me want to work out since it's fun for her to go to my gym. She can take an art class while I do my thing. It's awesome. read more

It was a blast to check out this vast facility. More than a gym, Lifetime includes a cafe/smoothie bar, salon, pools, and courts. I attended a barre class here as a guest of a member and feel that half of the workout consisted of walking to the studio where the class was being held. The class I took was 45-minutes long. I found the format to be accessible and easy enough for me to jump in, even when I was not familiar with this style of barre--every instructor has a different approach/philosophy. I got in a good enough workout, but it wasn't a killer. Post-workout, I had a chance to briefly peep the locker room facilities. It seems like the setup is spacious, and clean. I added one star because I was not given a hard sell about becoming a member, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. read more

Beware of their deceptive advertising that a Silver Sneakers membership is honored. They are NOT partnered with Silver Sneakers, but with specific insurance companies. I showed up for a tour, only to find out that my Silver Sneakers membership number showed as "ineligible" although I specifically asked before making the appointment about Silver Sneakers acceptance. They need to stop stating that they accept Silver Sneakers unless they really do! read more

You really could spend the day here. Cons: membership is over a 100 a month It's very far from me so i wouldn't get to it daily so not worth that amount. I actually tried planet fitness after this and I'm extremely happy with it, no more fighting over space or waiting on machines you may never get a turn on. I'm sure they'll just keep raising their prices to try to remedy that, but who wants to pay more for less when Bidenomics already has us in a vice grip? I had a rocky start at lifetime. I signed up for my daughter to have fun at the kids activities and when I went to pick her up on the first day I heard one of the people yelling at her. She was only 3 and is clearly learning her way around the world and rules. The manner in which she was yelled at was completely unprofessional and then she did not want to go back because she was afraid. The person who was yelling at her clearly knew she was wrong because when I picked her up and she realized who was my kid, the look on her face was purely concerned and afraid that I witnessed something that shouldn't have happened. I kept trying to get her to go and finally she came to enjoy it for the gymnastics. Unfortunately, when Covid hit the communication about how they were handling things and freezing of accounts were scarce. It blew my mind and I even called to find out their plans and they couldn't give me any information. Then when things fully shut down I wanted to contact them to cancel my membership because I didn't have intentions of going anytime soon. I could not get a hold of anyone and when I finally did, they were already opening back up and I was on the hook for making my monthly payment. In order for me to cancel my membership they were requiring that I come in and sign paperwork but the whole reason I wasn't going was because of health conditions and living with people at high risk of covid. I sat on the phone for like 30 minutes while the sales employee went back and forth with the manager trying to find out answers when I finally asked to just speak with the manager. They assured me that I would be canceled by August 1 and I would have no further payment. Come August 1 I had another payment. When I contacted them and said it was ridiculous they said I was charged for August 1st and that was their policy. I belong to another gym that I had NO problems like this happen. With everything going on with the pandemic right now, every place I've ever been has been flexible and understanding, EXCEPT lifetime fitness. Their lack of leniency during these times is baffling. I planned to sign up again in a year when things have settled down but I will NEVER give them another penny. Their lack of understanding for the climate of the world that we are in and that they are sticking strict to their contract rules is insane to me. Also the membership person I spoke with, Jessica Saxe and Shawna Lund, should not be in a customer service field because they have zero respect or customer service experience on how to treat a member who is paying quite a bit to belong to a club. read more

Life Time Fitness - Ellisville is a great facility for those under age 65. Enjoy it while you can, because once you turn 65 - they don't want you there anymore. Perfect place for every body to be for the weekend with your people. Classical Pilates studio overlooking the pool with certified instructors is impressive. Especially for a big gym. A Pilates session there is perfect before or after any activity planned at the facility. Relaxing, yet challenging & productive! Between food, spa, play, swim, sports, clubs, health education, or just lounge, etc -could spend an entire day without getting bored here- both with loved ones and for "you" time. Let me start by saying it truly saddens me to leave this review. I love this gym. I love the people, the equipment, and the facility. The gym is well-maintained and always clean. You definitely see the "regulars", but everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Now, the reason for the poor review... I have never encountered such a deceptive/scheming system. I am leaving the area for medical school, so I needed to cancel my membership. What the staff failed to inform me at the beginning of summer when I told them of my need to cancel was that I needed to file the cancelation 30 days prior to my stop date. They simply dismissed me and told me we could "worry about it later". Now I'm being charged $75 for a month's membership when I will be in a completely different state!! On top of this, I was not informed with the student membership if you do not go to the gym on the first of the month you will automatically be charged the flex price. In addition to this, when I went to the club June 2nd, I was charged the active user fee. So for the month of June I am now being charged both for using and not using the gym. Please explain how this makes sense?? While I have enjoyed my time at this gym, the good memories are now tainted and completely overshadowed by the hidden fees and charges I am now being forced to pay. If you plan on joining, be careful. They will try to scam you. read more

What a wonderful place. It is spotless and they work hard to keep it that way. The pools are sparkling and so inviting. Love the water aerobics and the instructors I had were fabulous. The changing rooms are spotless and the towels are pure white with not a spot on them. Floor classes are far too fast for a 55+ client. We either have bad knees, bad back, shoulders or even bad hips but still would like the exercise. I was like a fish out of water in those classes. I was embarrassed I could not keep up at all. We just moved to Chesterfield and was looking for a gym for our family. I love that while my husband and I are working out our children are NOT just sitting in a kids room coloring. They are doing their own kid's classes; rock climbing, learning different sports skills, tumbling in the gymnastics room on the tumble track, playing basketball in the gym, taking a kid's SOL or yoga class. The gym is very clean. The outside and indoor pools are well taken care of. The activities for both kids and adults are phenomenal. Moving to a new town and having no family around to help with babysitting our kids, my husband and I take advantage of signing our kid's up for "Parent's Night Out." We get to go out and enjoy a nice kid-free dinner while they are playing sports and making hands on crafts at LifeTime Gym while being supervised by their amazing Staff. The best part is- these activities are all included in our Membership! read more

Great layout and design - if it's the 1990s, but it's not so several areas throughout the facility needs to be updated including the dry sauna where the hardwood floors and benches/seats look over used and many warped boards. When you get up out of the bench the entire bench moves. The "stretching" area is simply a large wooden floor with very small and narrow yoga pads to stretch on. This should be completely padded with thicket yoga pads available. Also there is no stretching pole or ladder that even the local YMCA's have. The free weight plates are way out of date and are all the same color for all weights, when (once again) the local YMCA's have changed over to color coded weight plates (I.e. red for 45lbs plates, blue for 35, yellow for 25 etc) so it's easy to spot the size weight plate. They do have numerous weight machines but 1) it's too crowded together and 2) it's a random series of various brand weight machines and most are out of date. There is no neck machine weight and no seated overhead pull down machine that works your abs and arms. Others have stated it's way too crowded and I've noticed this as well and I've been in there early morning weekday, afternoon weekday and late evening weekday and occasional weekend day. It's good for Lifetime that why're busy but not so much for individuals. Just be ready to do a completely different workout than what you set out to do. The cardio machines maybe more readily available but I tend to use free weights and the weight room. On a positive side the steam room is nice and needs no updating, and the indoor and outdoor pools are very nice. For the monthly rate however I would expect more updated equipment, and design + layout. read more

There are so many choices in gyms today with most offering the same things, except for Lifetime. While they are definitely the most expensive of the chains I feel that is justified. I also think paying more than $30 a month is a good motivator to stick with going to the gym. Lifetime is so much more than a gym though. The Cafe serves some of the best healthy food and beverages. There's also a spa that I have yet to use but my wife enjoys. I've read the older negative reviews and while I can't attest to how things were then as I joined in January, I can say I haven't seen anything like that. I am always greeted with a smile by all of the staff and have never had a negative experience. If you run into the General Manager he will go out of his way to greet you and ask if you have any issues. The best part of Lifetime is its size and their ability to accommodate large numbers of people. Even when the lot is completely full there's always weight machines, treadmills/ellipticals, and free weights available. read more

My experience was a hot mess from the beginning. Personally, I would have liked earlier childcare hours/activities. I joined with the intent of working out with a trainer {they practically expect you to}, but the first trainer I met with gave me a 50 minute sales pitch and 5 minute workout - it was a complete waste of time and negated why I joined LifeTime to begin with {convenience/efficient}. The second trainer made excuses for the first and sold me on their services. I was told my LT Bucks that I PURCHASED would be applied but when I received my credit card statement I realized they were not and had to fight to have it adjusted, talking with a few different people including management. He put me with a new trainer {who was extremely sweet}, but it wasn't my style and I GAINED a size. I took their version of bar, which was a joke and didn't come close to Barre or Bar Method. The facilities are nice, but access to the gym isn't convenient for a 5:30am workout. It's a very reasonable place to work out, but you get what you pay for. I like the hydrafacial, but find it appalling that when you're not a member, you have to sign in to walk directly into the spa...I can go to nicer for less money. You cannot cancel over the phone or online, so be prepared to spend a half hour waiting for someone to become available to cancel your membership, going back to their office and doing the whole song and dance. Honestly, I'm much happier and have lost weight working out on my own at home and at our club and I'm not surrounded with the negativity and lack of management that is LifeTime. I gave them two stars because I love the aesthetician I work with and the trainer was kind and professional. read more

Came here as a guest of my friend last Friday morning to accompany her to a 5:00am Boot Camp class and let me tell you... it was so worth waking up at 4:30am to go workout that early before work! John was our trainer and it was a very small class of only 6 people but man, I felt my glutes and muscles burning for days after that workout! Lifetime had a wonderful kid's program and that's why we joined two years ago. It was alright to be there until what happened recently. On a Monday a month ago, when my husband went to pick up my 4-year-old daughter dropped off for a class, he noticed she sat by herself in a corner and didn't look happy. She only stated that she didn't go to class. We didn't get alarmed by this. The next Monday at the same time, when my husband went to pick up her, she didn't even want to answer and come out. The Kids academy's manager was the one to check out kids that day. She told my husband that my daughter didn't want to go to class. However when my daughter got home, she said she didn't want to go because the babysitter didn't let her. She was sad the whole night. She said, "Mommy, at least I can talk to myself. That was not too bad." Can anyone imagine a 4-year-old staying one hour all by herself without anyone talking to her? Not to mention that she saw other kids can go to class, except her. The second day we went to Lifetime to talk to the manager. When she saw us, she immediately claimed that all the other kids were older. They could not put her with big kids. What's really interesting is that this lady was the same one who told my husband that my daughter didn't want to go to class! I told her it was not good to let a 4-year-old to stay one hour all by herself. The manager guaranteed this won't happen again. But last Friday, I took my daughter to go to their gymnastics class. She was excited to go. But when I went pick up her, again I saw her staying in the room by herself. She didn't want to talk or move a bit. I realized something went wrong. I asked the babysitter if she went to class. The babysitter said again she didn't want to go. I said that was not possible. We came here specifically for the class. Then the babysitter said they can only allow 12 kids in the class. So she could not go. OK, what a coincidence! That was not a class required registration. No one has ever told me there were only 12 kids allowed in the class when I dropped off her. And there were only about 6 kids when I dropped her off. She was the one to be left alone again. No babysitter was with her. On our way to home, she told me she didn't want to go because the babysitter didn't let her. And the whole afternoon she was silent. After talking to my husband, we decided to cancel our membership. We want to cancel immediately, but they said that we need to give 30 days notice. Ok, we talked and thought we can wait one month. Today I got a call from lifetime. The lady said we signed contract so our membership can only stop one month later. I said I can wait for one month but also expect nothing like this happens anymore. But if the same issue happens again during the month, I want to cancel immediately. The lady said, "If you don't feel comfortable, you don't need to bring your kid in." I was so shocked since I paid for a family membership that includes my daughter. This would be the equivalent of a restaurant saying 'if you don't like the slug in your salad, you don't need to eat it. Just don't forget to pay, and some tips maybe'. Quite speechless, isn't it? Then she said "it's your choice to bring her in or not, but you signed contract and your cancellation date was set." Well, for now we decided not to bring our daughter in case the same thing happens. I want to warn mothers here to be careful in joining Lifetime. read more

I have been using Lifetime gyms for over a year. Recently relocated to the gym in Ellisville. The classes are great. There is a lot to choose from and the classes are at decent times. The gym is pricey but it is a nice gym so I think it's worth it. I dislike the car salesman aspect of it. It is very commercial with advertisements everywhere and the salespeople are pretty obnoxious. But once you get past signing up you don't have to deal with them. I don't have kids but my friends rave about the free childcare at the gym. The only thing that freaks me out is the lack of cleaning wipes in the group classes. There are none! People sweat on the mats and put them back and people use them for the next class. I have never been so disgusted. How are others okay with this? I will be bringing in my own wipes since I asked management to put cleaning wipes in the group classes and they don't seem to care. Huge health hazard! read more
