This review is for a drop-in to Lift-STL, not a full membership. I dropped into this gym while visiting Saint Louis, and I was very impressed with their facility. The whole place is super clean, well taken care of, and organized. They have a ton of lifting-focused equipment, including multiple squat racks with platforms, barbells, and bumper plates. They also have a lot of machines, including a GHD, an abductor/adductor machine, and lots of isolation machines. They also have a ton of dumbells of various weights. There's a few treadmills, rowers, and ski machines too. All in all, A+ for equipment. The gym definitely had people in it, but it was not overly crowded on a weekday morning, and I had no problems waiting to use equipment. The drop-in process is quick and easy, it's $25 for a day pass. Restrooms are also clean and have lockers (bring your own lock) and showers. I took the train here from Downtown Saint Louis (about 30 minutes), it's just a few steps from a station, and I liked this gym so much I would definitely do that again.

Lift-STL is the best gym in St. Louis, hands down. The quality is unmatched by any other gym in the area, and it has a great culture!

Reasons why I love the workout: 1. Treadmills / running are incorporated! I love to run but I hate when I have to chose either weights or running. I love Shred because it keeps both! 2. Minimal thought/ experience required. You don't have to wait for equipment or think about what your next set is going to consist of because they tell you what to do the entire time! Also, if you don't know how to do something- it doesn't matter- because your instructor shows you each move before they expect you to do it. Reason why I love this location specifically: The Instructors & Staff are just the best! I truly feel like I have made some great friends here and that all of the people in this location genuinely care about you. It's so nice that I can pick my classes to go with my favorite instructors or I can take one with someone that's not in my regular "schedule" and I still get the same amazing workout and attention. Overall, the gym is clean, safe, but most importantly fun! 100% would recommend to anyone of any experience level!

Members spend enough time working out without having to tour the entire gym looking for equipment that was left somewhere else. When I mentioned that the equipment should be put back where it came from, Sharon's professional response was to tell me to "mind your own business" and that "it doesn't matter" where the equipment is returned. Interesting philosophy. I wonder if LifeTime feels that way, too. You can almost understand when an occasional member leaves equipment lying around. But when it's an employee--someone who's literally being paid to teach good habits--it's a masterclass in hypocrisy. Maybe the next training package should include a session called "How to Return Equipment 101." It's a short class: pick it up, walk it back, and put it where you found it. For a club that markets itself as a luxury fitness experience, I'd expect trainers to set the example--not encourage members to lower their standards. Apparently, "mind your own business" is now considered customer service.

It's clean, new, and a younger clientele in generally very good shape. I find that it inspires me to work out that little bit harder and it's nice being around people my age. It reminds me of the Mizzou Rec center but obviously very, very different in many ways. IYKYK The sauna is very nice and other than the sink area and sometimes the shower, the locker rooms are kept surprisingly clean. They do a fairly good job of fixing broken machines except the drinking fountains currently haven't worked right for over 6 months, the dryers in the bathroom are often and continue to be broken, but broken machines seem to get fixed quicker. Obviously it gets mobbed around 5-7pm on weekdays. If you can't work around to get a good work out in, avoid those times. I'm not sure this spot would ever cap their capacity or memberships. All in all I love this spot and will continue to go. It fits the bill for convenience, clientele vibe, and machine/service options

After a couple weeks I found a staff member who said that the batteries needed to be replaced. It was good to find a staff member who could finally tell me what was wrong. When the batteries weren't replaced I was told the bikes were being replaced by new ones. Over a month later that hasn't happened. Numerous tv screens on cardio machines don't work. How staff and management can't know that is beyond me. It been months since I pointed out (3-4 times) that the timers on the popular elliptical trainers only displays time remaining but the time elapsed won't display, with no result. Mo On the one elliptical trainer where that function still works, the closed captioning on the TV monitor doesn't work. It might be a good idea repair equipment being used by members (i.e. customers) before bringing in thousands of dollars of new equipment.

There's a great range of classes for strength training, and my go-tos are TRX, CardioStrong, and Lift.
