Life Time in Lawrenceville is very conveniently located, just a short distance from both my church and home. I enjoy coming here regularly for swimming and strength training. One thing I've noticed is that the facility is constantly undergoing renovations. Since the beginning of this year, they have renovated the swimming pool, jacuzzi, and men's locker room, and now the women's locker room is being updated as well. While it's good to see continuous improvements, the ongoing construction can sometimes feel inconvenient and is a reminder that the facility is aging. My experiences with the staff have been mixed. Some employees are friendly and helpful, while others come across as less welcoming. One incident in particular left a disappointing impression. I accidentally left my phone at the Life Cafe table and realized it after I had already left the gym. When I returned, a young staff member asked to see my membership card. I explained that my membership information was on the phone I had left inside, but despite the obvious situation, he refused to let me enter without an ID. Even after explaining multiple times that I was simply trying to retrieve my phone, he continued insisting on identification. It felt like common sense and flexibility were missing in that moment. Another concern is the membership cost. I currently pay more than $180 per month, which is quite expensive. At that price point, I believe members naturally expect not only quality facilities but also consistently professional and understanding customer service. This review is specifically about how the basketball courts are being handled during the summer camp schedule. I pay over $300 a month for a membership, and one of the main reasons I chose this gym was access to the basketball courts. Unfortunately, the courts are unavailable Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM throughout the summer due to camp activities, yet members are still paying full membership rates with no discount or accommodation offered. For members who use the courts regularly, this removes a major part of what we're paying for. It feels unfair to eliminate access to a key amenity for an extended period while continuing to charge full price. I understand businesses want to run summer programs, but this situation seems focused on generating additional revenue at the expense of paying members. I raised these concerns with management and was told, "Sorry, nothing we can do." That response was disappointing and felt dismissive. For a gym at this price point, I expected better communication, better planning, or some effort to make things right for affected members. This was handled poorly. read more

My family and I have been loyal members to this specific location for more than 20 years and starting today if i could give this a zero star rating i would. The experience i had today with a member and the employee was honestly like no other. Currently they are having renovation done in the ladies locker room so they had us go to the family locker room. When i finished my shower i stepped out to grab lotion and finish getting ready for work. Well this particular member who i have never seen before starts off with an attitude saying "are you done"". i tell her nicely not yet I'm getting lotion. She then proceeds to tell me "what am i doing out the locker room if I'm not even finished". I was so confused where her attitude was coming from so i asked her why are you being rude? She then proceeds to come at me saying I'm the example of what people shouldn't do?? She also calls me names like "midget" and little girl" etc. I ask her what her problem because I'm genuinely lost where the attitude is coming from if I'm being nice to her? then she puts her hand in my face so that's where she crossed the line with me and that's when i complained to the front desk workers of what happened, an employee named Mai or May who is typically in the front desk area comes with me so i can point out the lady. I started to get overwhelmed while explaining and the lady tells me to "stop crying" and how "my tears aren't necessary"?? after she almost hit me. I walked back out to the front desk area to cool down and Mai comes out saying how i started the argument and how i shouldn't have taken long because bathrooms were limited which I didn't even take more than 20 minutes getting ready also there was no sign saying you are limited this amount of time to shower and get ready so I was in fact allowed to take my time. I've always respected rules and regulations at all times but there was nothing present saying i needed to be done under a certain amount of time and the fact the employee sided with her not even hearing my side made me beyond disappointed and mistreated really shows the type of employees they're hiring to work there. Keep in mind I'm a 20 year old women and this lady was probably in her 50s-60s. Words cant describe how disappointed i am with the way i was treated by this employee Mai, knowing how this lady made me cry and mistreated me which she saw with her own eyes too how rude this lady was with me. This definitely makes me view lifetime much differently moving forward so I hope you guys start choosing your employees better. read more

Something has seriously changed at this club over the past two years. The management and staff now have such a bad attitude -- there's absolutely no sense of customer service anymore. One staff member even told us that corporate "doesn't care" about our monthly Signature membership, and the manager bluntly said they don't care about our input. To make things worse, the concierge manager actually called me today to suspend my membership for 30 days -- simply because we voiced our concerns about the poor management and lack of service. This kind of retaliation against loyal members who speak up is completely unacceptable. After being loyal members for over 20 years, our family is heartbroken and disappointed. This used to be a club we were proud to belong to, but the lack of respect, professionalism, and accountability has made us seriously consider leaving for good. read more

I was a member when this location first opened. The family stopped the membership but now we returned to get back to some routine exercise. This location has undergone a few upgrades. The upstairs area is more open, newer floors, upgraded equipment and new activities. The pickle ball court is fantastic! Squash is still available, as well as the basketball court. They have kept the facility looking fresh. The food is still tasty, though I wouldn't complain if the price was decreased by about 10%. However, the main thing I noticed was how nice and engaging the staff has been. They have been very helpful and encouraging! It is not cheap but I think the price is now worth it. read more

I've had the gym membership from December 2023, and so far love it. I used to be a member in Boca Raton Life time but I like this location at Sugarloaf better. First of all their hours are better. Second their lifetime work area is nicer and lastly my son loves the gym. They have a great kids area for where you can drop off your child for 2 hours or so. I always drop him for a hour so don't know the exact amount but it's a nice area and the employees are interactive with the children while parents are working out. I have only tried cycle classes so far since in the new year a lot of other classes fill up quickly but aim to try their yoga or Pilates class options as well. All the cycle instructors are great and energized that give a good environment for the classes. They have a great indoor and outdoor pool. It's winter time so we have only tried their indoor pool and my son will be doing group lessons starting next week so that will be good. Their aquatics director, Jill was great in registering my son. My husband loves their squash courts that are available and he plays with other gym members. They also have pickle ball courts and basketball courts. They also have a rocking climbing wall for kids 5 and up. The locker rooms are good for both women and men and in addition they have a family locker room for people with children. Near the locker room they have wet and dry saunas. I really enjoy those and they make me feel so relaxed. My only suggestion for lifetime would be that they give more guest passes to members since I always have friends that want to try it out. And with family membership we don't get a free pass for a friend for each of us, it's a shared guess pass option in our membership. Overall a great gym, you might be paying more money for a gym but you have tons of amenities that you will not find other gyms. read more

Despite everything that has been going on lately, it's been nice to come here lately and feel safe. It seems not that big of a deal, but seeing all walks of life also come here land also seem to feel safe is heart warming. It's also extremely clean! It seems like every time I go they are constantly cleaning the equipment. I normally do, because I'm trying to take care of my fellow human especially during the nasty weather and sick season. It's be nice if others would too. They also seems to have seasonal items on their cafe menu items, but unfortunately vegan still takes a backseat. Ugh women's gym restrooms were dirty and most stalls out of toilet paper today; the pool indoor pool area is always super slippery and filthy. The showers look as they are never clean/cleaned hair and grime. I like my child to rinse off before we leave but they lockers and showers are awful. Today all the lockers in family room were all locked except two that had pool equipment in them. When I inquired the employee that assures said most were probably empty and need resetting. We had to mess around getting help which took time away from us actually working out. Now they're resurfacing the parking lot so you're lucky to find a parking spot. They really should have done one side then the other but instead they are doing the entire front. read more

Joined after my stint with FIT4MOM Roswell Alpharetta Perimeter came to an end - aging out (my youngest was full time in preschool and showing up with an empty stroller is just weird to me). I started out strong - coming 4 times a week, utilizing the kids play space, utilizing the perks of Parent Night Out, hitting up multiple classes, enjoying the cardio area. The only thing I didnt do was "free weights". I felt way to insecure for that, but I thought to myself, it's ok ... I will get there eventually. I didnt. I dont like that if you want to do free weights, you are in the center of everything and everyone...people walking back and forth to classes/yoga. People walking to the weight machines, etc. I felt so insecure the one time I tried that I just couldnt get past it. If they had some alcoves where you could take a mat and some weights (like the Y) I might have stuck it out longer. We used the swim lessons and they really worked with my kids...although sometimes it seemed like they worked harder and not smarter. My kids could have flown through some of the requirements to move up but they never worked on the harder stuff with them for longer than 1/2 a lesson. I dont know if their methods were tried and true on other kids, just that mine could have both moved up a level after 6-7 months with them. We loved the outdoor pool. We loved the locker rooms - although when they changed the lock style I locked myself out MULTIPLE times and had to get someone a lot. I ended up not using the lockers and just carrying my stuff. On the plus side, I never experienced any theft. We quit because the cost was too high and I had gotten lazy and stopped. I do miss cardio kickboxing with Moe tho. read more

The gym is standard layout of most average level lifetime gyms, but what is concerning is the mixed dumbbells in random locations, on a weekday at 3pm. This is gonna be very hard to review because I absolutely love this gym. It's the reason why I keep coming even though it definitely hasn't been the same experience from a while now. They have multiple locations around my area including Johns Creek, Alpharetta, and the one closer to me, Sugarloaf Pkwy. I'm gonna start with mentioning all the amenities. Not only they have a gigantic indoor, and lap pool. There's also a outdoor pool and it even has a slide. Definitely great for kids. Inside the ladies changing/looker rooms there's a sauna, a steam room, and showers. There is a squash, volleyball and basketball court. Even a climbing rock wall!!! They also always have classes, and activities going on such as yoga, Zumba, Pilates, dance classes and more. Doesn't all of this sounds great? Specially for the price we pay monthly, it should be exceptional. Reality is... this place is always very dirty, nasty and disorganized. The other day I literally had to go from the gym upstairs to the changing rooms downstairs to the bathroom bc the one upstairs was NASTY! & the one downstairs wasn't any better. & its also becoming a habit. Every time seems to be worse. In the gym area all the weights are always in the wrong place, and there's towels and water bottles everywhere. Seriously? Costumer service is okay. I had an issue where they charged me more because I "failed" to prove my age. A lady "fixed" it for me, but next month I got charged extra too. What's going on? I'm very disappointed, and I'm considering canceling my subscription. Might as well just find a cheaper, and closer gym to me. It's that time of year where I have resolved for the millionth time to get my body back in shape! But unlike so many other years, 2020 with its shelter-in-place, political, racial, and pandemic difficulties really packed on some unwanted stress eating pounds. So the search begins for a place to dispose of my extra baggage! * * * LIFETIME FITNESS is the standard to which I dream of a gym, but my wallet considers this place to be somewhat of a nightmare. They are about double the cost of many other lesser gyms, but strangely the cost doesn't altogether deter me from consideration of membership. You see, while they are indeed far more than I want to spend monthly for my family, there is something to be said about loving where you work out. The amenities are endless, the on-site café is delicious, the indoor and outdoor pool areas are like a Florida resort. And as silly as it may seem, I LOVE THAT EUCALYPTUS STEAM ROOM!!! A cardio workout on their huge selection of elliptical machines, stair masters, rowers, or treadmills, then a visit to the steam room to detox + a hot shower and a good meal or shake in the café make me feel brand new... seriously! They granted me a 24-hour pass which also included a free workout with a trainer in a class. Can't remember the name of the class, but it was basically 22 minutes and while it seemed simple, it showed me just how out of shape I've let myself get. I couldn't even finish the class and still I was sore for 3 days straight, to the point I had trouble climbing the stairs in my own home. It honestly didn't seem that difficult of a class, but it kicked my butt! * * * FINAL THOUGHTS I have two other less expensive gyms I am considering and probably won't make any of them my home until sometime in February when I've had time to give each one of them a thorough visit. Since none of them have a membership contract, I just might sign up and pay for one month at each to give me the best opportunity to make the right decision. LA FITNESS has given me a 7-day pass, and BODYPLEX is a $5 per visit fee since my son is a member. They are also closer to my home, but truly don't get me as excited to work out at their facilities as I do with LIFETIME. Did I mention I love it here? The Turkey Burger in the Café is delicious, and the pool makes me feel like I'm on vacation, PLUS they have lots of exterior windows that let in a ton of daylight and don't make me feel like I'm inside a warehouse! Lifetime used to be a great club. I've have been a member for over 10 years. Recently, however the equipment maintenance has been very poor. A lot of really old cardio equipment that is constantly in need of repair but doesn't get repaired. Just a bunch of signs saying the equipment will be repaired by a date that has long since passed. To make matters worse, don't bother bringing your earbuds. The instructor lead class features music turned to 120 dB so you won't be able to hear your own music anyway. read more

Review is for Lifetime-Sugarloaf--I used to go to Johns Creek (loved it), but now am closer to this location. Lots & lots of broken, dirty equipment, some are absolutely filthy and clearly not cleaned in a year. The shower drains are always full of hair--that's so disgusting, I refuse to shower there anymore. The elevator button has been broken for about six weeks, so if you are on crutches good luck getting down the stairs. It's hard to work out in the free weight area because some meathead(s) refuse(s) to unload after he works out and I can't keep lifting off multiple 100lb plates. There are people that literally sit on some of the machines talking on the phone, snap chatting, vlogging/blogging, doing photoshoots, or whatever they are doing--clearly not working out--just hogging up a machine. Then there are those that will hog two pieces of equipment at a time and those that will use a piece of equipment and also lift free weights in between their sets hogging the machine for 30-minutes or more. Then there's those that slam the weights down--I mean if you can't lift it lighten the load (they are part of the problem why machines are broken). Dropping weights is in the rules posted on the wall--it's never ever for followed. There really should be a monitor around these machines to stop this kind of behavior. The pool area is supposed to be for family, yet they allow women to wear skimpy bathing suits that honestly look like thong underwear (see pic below). Perfect for maybe South Beach, or your backyard pool, but not for a family pool. Mind you this lady is in the inside kiddie pool section and this is the 3rd time I've seen her there in the same suit with her butt hanging out each time. This is just one pic of many examples of inappropriate bathing suits. I don't want my impressionable children staring at a woman's butt--please cover-up. I will say the staff there are amazing, they really do try to do a great job, are very friendly. I just think the gym is oversold, it's just too crowded and not being monitored properly and/or maintained properly. I do manage to get a good workout, but have to put up with a lot. read more

I would like to share my absolute disgust with the state of the Lifetime Fitness @ Sugarloaf location. I've been to other LT locations, partly due to travel and partly to seeing if this is the way all LifeTime locations are run around the Atlanta area. Safe to say, Sugarloaf is a disgrace and is definitely the exception rather than the rule. I pay a premium price to attend this gym, and it has not only fallen short of even my lowest expectations, consistently, over the last 2 years. It is a less pleasant, less hygienic and far worse experience than even a Planet Fitness at this point. It is consistently filthy, and all etiquette appears to be ignored, or worse, unenforced. I'm genuinely shocked at how bad it is at times. We can all accept the occasional off day where things were a bit rough, but for it to constantly be the case is bewildering for $130 a month - what exactly am I paying for? Filthy, unclean bathrooms? Trash filled gym floor? A sauna and pool that are anything but relaxing, becoming borderline unusable? SAUNA, SPA, STEAM ROOM, POOL From your Club Policy page: "Sauna, Spa and Steam Room. You must wear proper attire and may not shave in, or use in the nude, the sauna, spa, or steam room. You may not pour water on the sauna heater. You may not hang clothes to dry in either the sauna or steam room. You may not work out or wear rubber suits or excessive clothing in the sauna or steam room. Our saunas and steam rooms are considered quiet areas. Mobile phones may not be used to take or place calls while in the sauna or steam room, and when using mobile phones for music or audio apps headphones or earbuds are required." Absolutely ZERO of these policies are even remotely enforced (Haven't seen anyone shaving in their yet! Fingers crossed we keep that streak up). It is an absolute that going into a sauna to relax is guaranteed to be an insanely disruptive experience. There is always someone working out, jumping around grunting, causing a disturbance, blocking the doorway. Combine that with people blasting music or scrolling TikTok on their phone, or taking a call on speakerphone? It's INSANE that this is what Sugarloaf has deemed acceptable. The times when someone has been eating tuna in there should have been the lowlight of my experience, instead it's barely even a footnote. There is not even a sign up reminding people that it's a quiet area, and it shouldn't be mine, or my fellow LT guests responsibility, to enforce those rules or etiquette. This is why people pay the extra to come here, and you can't even approach the sauna without a sense of dread that someone is about to ruin the entire thing. The hot tub/whirl pool is the exact same. You're lucky if someone is not on speakerphone or FaceTime, yelling over the sound of the water jets. The good news is there is a sign out that says "No one under 12" in the hot tub. The bad news? You better believe they're in there, splashing around and screaming! Again, this should not be my responsibility to say something to these guests. The pool is slowly turning into a dry-humping session. The last 5 times I've been to the pool, both inside and outside, there's always a couple making out and/or dry humping against the sides?! I'll be honest, I couldn't find your policy for this on the Club Etiquette page (Just "no sexual activity in the Locker Room", guess they found a loophole!), probably because it didn't seem necessary to say it, so I don't blame you for this one. Even the attire is getting silly. Guys in their sweaty boxers they have just worked out in getting into the pool and hot tub. If i turn away from the guy working out blasting a rap song that's trying to break the record for using the N word, avoid being in the background of someone's FaceTime call and turn away from the couple making out in the pool, then I am treated to a eye-full of some guys private parts smushed up against his soaking boxers. Woohoo!!!! BATHROOM HYGIENE On more than 1 occasion I have left the gym and gone home to use the bathroom because of how absolutely disgusting the restrooms are. Used toilet paper everywhere around the toilet, crusty dried urine all over the floor, wet urine all over the seat, poop stains in the bowl (if it's actually been flushed of course). These aren't cases of 1 person went in and was inconsiderate - the bathroom has clearly been dirty for a long time without being cleaned. Something as basic as using the bathroom wouldn't be this much of a gamble in a gas station, let alone an "Athletic Country Club". Again, this is not a one-off incident - this is constantly a problem, and is true for both the upstairs bathroom on the gym floor, and in the locker room. At least the hygiene standards made it down the drain. On the rare occasion the bathroom has been clean enough to use it, there's people taking calls on speakerphone... WHILST THEY'RE SAT IN THE STALL TAKING A DUMP!!!!! You don't even see this happening in a WalMart bathroom. read more

Only a few words, "Too crowded"! This place is oversold and so crowded that there are not enough dumbbells/benches to go around. At ~5:00.p.m., the free weights area is full with people taking up all the benches. What's even worse is that people nowadays love to glue to their phones in between sets so there is no way for you to stand around a wait for anyone to get done soon! Dumbbells on the racks are nowhere to be seen. People just take them away and never put them back where they belong. Same thing with the weight machines, barely enough to go around for the number of people on the floor. They need to put up signs that tell people to "STOP SURFING ON YOUR PHONE!" and "START EXCERCISING!" For the classes, good luck with signing up for popular classes like Yoga. Not enough are offered. Popular classes/instructors are always full and you have to wait for the minute the class you want to open up to register a week in advance! For the price you are paying, I truly think it's a waste of money. I have tried their other facility in Johns Creek, which is a whole lot less crowded at peak hours. But then I was told that my membership at Sugarloaf (at a lower rate) did not allow me to go there. So, it may be nice and tolerable at other facilities, but NOT at this Sugarloaf location. I don't like the idea of going to a gym and having to really shoulder with other people for the equipment, especially for the price I have to pay for the membership. It's really an annoying experience. I have cancelled my membership and still was charged an additional 30 days before it's cancelled! read more

Lifetime is great! I notice all of these negative reviews and I'm certain these are just individuals who just complain about everything. If something bothers you, don't try and tear down someone's business, go talk to someone about it or do it yourself if it's within your reach to do so! I'm a neat freak lol so if I see things that need to be picked up, I just pick it up and put it where it needs to be. It's not that hard. If you don't like the food item you choose, pick something else next time. It doesn't mean the whole cafe is dissatisfying. I'm saying all this to say, again, lifetime is a great environment for all, even the kiddies. Our daughter loves coming here as well as participating in her swim lessons! Really disappointed in this location. I know this is not the standard of Lifetime fitness. Weights laying around everywhere except in the racks and when they are in the racks it's NEVER in chronological order. I have to walk up and down to find two of the same pairs of dumbbells. The mats are all old af and ripped. Idk what the cleaning crew is doing but it ain't cleaning. Staff is amazing just need better management apparently cuz there's no way they don't see how ridiculous this location looks as compared to the others. I love their group fitness classes. I have been coming here for 9 years now and honestly attribute it to getting Duluth fit and healthy because of it's nice interior and fun classes and pool facilities. I'm sure with every business there comes a dark side to getting your money. I have friends who work here and I know some are annoyed by the commissioning and sales rather than actually promoting fitness. In fact many of the sales managers themselves have no background in health and wellness which j think is a shame bc if you got a personal trainer to do that tour, things would be presented so differently. Weight machines and weights are pretty adequate. If you're going to complain it enough just come at dead hours. It's crazy from 4:30 to 8:00. Crazy jacked Asians come out at like 9:30 bc they don't have their night markets to go to so you'll find these incredible Asian specimens at night. Daytime you'll have pleasant house wives in strength classes. You'll have some people who come here to socialize and hang out but they are courteous to step aside if you look like you're going to be getting swole. Group fitness classes are super popular here. If you do total conditioning extreme or any of those classes that require equipment, get here 15-10 mins earlier or risk having glares and not having stuff. Zumba is great for those starting out with fitness. Teachers who teach them are fun and enthusiastic and have good music. Yoga classes are also relaxing but I don't recommend if you have low blood pressure as you will pass out. I highly recommend the TCX and C9 classes for those who love conditioning, strength, and cardio all in one. Rock climbing walls are good and always a good challenge for all. Why pay 14$ at mall when you can do unlimited here? In the summer you'll be going against little kids who kill your ego by scampering up in their tiny bodies but you'll practice right? Pools are good. The one outside isn't too cold and I suspect heated. The lap pool inside is ice water. The spas are nice for back massages and looking gloomy like the old men and women who look like they live here all day to where they look like statues in the water. Rarely have accidents where they shut the pool down. Water is pretty clean. I haven't seen it murky yet in last 9 years Basketball courts are good for all ages. I've seen competitive play and I've seen cute things for kids. Kids camps are also popular. Seems to be a good option to get kids active and I think they go on field trips Amenities. Ladies, there are free tampons. Towels, may not be completely dry in the summer due to high volume. Saunas are good if ya wanna look sad and red and sweaty while everyone walks by and stares at you but you should feel amazing. If you have low BP, again avoid more than 10 mins or you will pass out. Been coming here for about a year. The kids programs are phenomenal. My child also enjoys the swimming lessons. Recently attended a swim clinic over school break. Had fun and made so much progress. This place is definitely worth the somewhat high monthly fees. read more

See, the trainers are amazing. The community is meh. There have been several times I have been lifting on the platforms, and some random person comes over and attaches something on my platform, whether that be the pull-up bar, or something else. (without even asking) And then just randomly leaves without putting back the equipment, leaving me to return the equipment. There has been several times where theres people blasting music with their own speakers at the gym. Organization-wise, pretty messy. I understand it's a huge facility but it's not very organized, especially in the evenings. The trainers are amazing, and the facility is usually clean. I just dislike the majority of the people who come there, as they have 0 etiquette. Especially in the women's lockers. They drop the towels on the ground and walk around WITH the towel on their feet. I was prospecting this gym a few days ago and was never able to get a tour. I went to the front desk and requested a tour from the associates. They directed me to fill out my information on the kiosk, then told me to have a seat. I was informed that a young lady (which I saw at the desk when I arrived) would be my gym guide. That young lady never returned. So I was left waiting while a subsequent family was ushered to a tour before me after I wasted 20 minutes waiting for a tour. Terrible process management. read more

This gym is WAYYYY too small for the price to be over $100 a month for ONE PERSON. They add hidden fees every other month. This gym is a complete SCAM. Most of their equipment is out of service and the child center is even worse. Do NOT send your children to their child center they will get bullied by the big grown ass employees. This gym also makes it seem as if you get "alpha strength, alpha conditioning, gtx, ultra fit, etc" as apart of your membership but once you've been to the classes a few times the app will tell you to upgrade your membership for another $100 a month. This gym is pitiful honestly there are better gyms out there that don't charge as much. AND not to mention, the parking lot fits about 15 hot wheels trucks so good luck finding parking. read more

Everyone I know raves about Life Time. When they had a New Year special, I signed up immediately. This place is absolutely huge and has plenty of amenities. So far, I've gone during both busy and not so busy hours and honestly, it isn't too bad. I didn't have to wait around for equipment nor was the sauna or jacuzzi areas crowded. I got to try out their rock climbing portion of the gym too. Parents love to drop off their kids here. It's definitely not Stone Summit, but it'll do in pinch. Staff will have you do a mini-belay test upon entering, especially if you're new. They only have top-roping available here with a couple of auto-belays and plenty harnesses to use - harnesses are standard, so bring your own if you have it. There are some routes that can double as some bouldering routes, but it is limited. I'll stick to rock climbing and bouldering at Stone Summit though. Facility is clean and brightly lit. Women's locker rooms have plenty of lockers, showers, towel service, all the things you need to get ready. Each locker comes with a key. There's no need to bring your own lock. Only thing is, you would need to use your card for the lock/key to work. I didn't know this when I first came here. Overall, I'm a fan. Time to get even more stronger. ;) read more

From the 2 huge pools & waterslide, to the two full-size basketball courts, rock climber, steam room, sauna, weight room, group rooms, fitness equipment, locker rooms, child care, lounge area, the staff, parking, and stores... All A1! Without a doubt, one of the nicest clubs I've ever been to. I had a great time working out here while on vacation in Atlanta. Will definitely return if I'm ever back in that area again. I've had memberships at LA Fitness, Gold's Gym, Australian Body Works and now, Lifetime Fitness. Each one of these caters to select individuals or families. Out of all of them, i have to say Lifetime fits my select needs and I can thank my honey for getting me up to speed on Lifetime. This location is right off Sugarloaf Parkway, right near I-85. It's super convenient to those that work and plan on catching a workout after work or before work. Let's go over the bad first: - Busy: the free weight area and machines are PACKED during prime time, 5PM-7PM. I've had to rearrange my entire workout a couple times due to machines or benches being taken. Not a bad thing but kills the speed at which i want to get done. - Stench: the weights here STINK and i mean literally. Bend down to pick up a 45 weight or dumb bell and you'll smell the odor. I have NO CLUE what causes it but it's enough to gag me at times. They need to clean them. - Entrance to Men's Locker Room: it smells like a deodorized fart, no thanks to the actual bathrooms being close to the entry way. They could remedy this with air freshners. - Cost: you get what you pay for, my individual membership for just this location is $69/month. That's not bad considering how often i use the place. It really is what you're trying to get out of the place though. This would not make sense to somebody who doesn't go often or doesn't plan to use the facilities as intended. Personally, wish it was $60/month and included access to all facilities. The Good: - Something for everybody: they have massages, spin classes, yoga classes, a healthy cafe, a kids summer camp, a very nice kids club, TONS of treadmills, lots of machines, open floor for yoga, an actual yoga facility in the back, indoor lap pools, outdoor lap pools, kids swim lessons, kids swim teams, water slides, sauna, hot tubs, family showering facility, towels/green bags for dirty clothes, friendly customer service, large indoor basketball courts - Little known secret: I use the family showering facilities 3-4 days out of the week ... so much space in the stalls to lay my clothes and get ready for work after my morning runs - I never have to worry about waiting for a treadmill, and I can always count on using the gym during really nasty days to get my runs in. - The outdoor pool with the water slide is GREAT for the summer. My son loves it and I feel i get a big portion of my money's worth then. It's not White Water but the two slides they have are enough to excite him. - Sanitizing wipes: this is a MUST especially when you walk up to equipment that still has sweat on it. They have these stations all over. - Workout towels: always a nice touch - 24 Hour Access I'm a fan of the facility in general, and love that it's open 24 hours. I can see people joining and complaining about cost, especially if they aren't using the facility for some of their major programs. One thing I think they could do is offer up a rewards program for amount of visits ... Lifetime Bucks for Members coming more than 20 times per month or something like that. I have been a gym rat for most of my life, and I have never, ever been to a gym as clean, as well-equipped, and as professionally run by awesome people as this gym. Do you really think Shaquille O'Neal would attend a gym as run down and dirty as some of these folks on Yelp! are saying? Where should I even start... Customer service - within 10 minutes of calling to set up a time to check out LifeTime, I had received a voicemail confirming the date, time, and a brief outline of what to expect. Signing up was a breeze. My girlfriend and I were introduced to multiple employees, many of which we're on a first-name basis with now. I personally received an email from Andre, the general manager, and when I responded, he answered back. Who does that? The folks who work here are genuinely the happiest people I've met. Cleanliness - I literally do push-ups on the floor, this place is so clean. The restrooms and showers are top-notch. Whoever it was that said something about hair (first off, all ya'll shed, so having a couple hairs in the drain ain't nothing to whine about) and mold... seriously? The locker rooms don't even smell in the slightest. I'm not sure where mold can live in a place that's literally scrubbed every couple hours, but hey, what do I know? I just go here. As for the equipment... like, they literally have people cleaning around and behind you as you workout. This place is freaking spotless! Equipment - from free weights to $20,000 Woodway Treadmills (yes, really) this place has so much variety it's mind blowing. If state of the art machines aren't your style, how about the brand new EDGE cycles, or maybe the two basketball courts, rock climbing wall, 2 indoor swimming pools, FREAKING WATER SLIDE, or saunas & steam rooms... maybe those will suit your fancy. When we went to visit, I kept thinking "How will we ever justify $125/mo for both of us" (my girlfriend and I). By the end of the tour, I genuinely felt that paying them $125 wasn't enough. It's that good, and I'm not easily impressed if things aren't up to snuff. This used to be a great gym. I really loved the gym when I first joined. But for $60 a month I expect to surround myself with clean people and clean facility. The upstairs gym it self is fine. At times, it does get a bit crowded where you can't find a machine in the ab/weight areas. Downstairs- Bathrooms and locker rooms are disgusting. There's hair all over the floor in the showers. Mold in the cracks and crevices. So many rude, dirty people around you. Girls in the steam room and saunas always doing face masks, putting stuff in their hair, etc. They say they just remodeled but honestly I see nothing at all that appears different. Everything looks the same. I was thinking new material, new paint, but no. Same old stuff. Don't join here, it's not worth it to pay $60-150 to surround yourself with nasty people and a dirty facility. I will be canceling and joining else where. You can pay $10 at planet fitness with a clean upgraded locker room and clean facility with massage chairs and tanning. read more

Mold in the bathroom showers.. The outside grounds are filthy..trash all over. Makes you wonder why am I paying so much money for such am upscale gym. Quick Info: Back to 24/7, monthly rates (gold) $77, (onyx) $110, (diamond) $145 This review is of the gym itself, its members and its recently reduced hours... And then going back to the regular 24/7. This Life Time has a good energy during the 7pm-11pm time slot. While there are more people here during that time than say, a nearby LA Fitness, this place will never feel as congested nor packed. It is worth it to say that also during the 7pm-11pm time slot, there are some really disgusting members that trash the fitness floor like their mom is working there then proceed to the locker room and act as though they just arrived in 2014 America from a 1476 Mexican jungle village. A great example is a trio of snot nosed Brazilian kids that get ready in the locker room making all kinds of noise and talking loudly about nonsense; All while blocking easy access to your locker followed by each of them leaving three or four towels on the floor. Slobs. Sugarloaf Life Time recently closed for about a week to perform what was thought to be a decent remodel. It turned out to be half ass in more ways than one. The weight room flooring, which was in more need of replacement, was not replaced but at least the tiles that were curling upward were hammered down and straightened out by the grunts that came in to perform the alleged remodel. The mangy carpet was rolled up and sent elsewhere and replaced with carpet tiles. There's already various stains on the new carpet from disgusting (or clumsy) members. There are five olympic lift platforms with round weights. Doing deadlifts or cleans with those octagons was awful! This new addition has led to a few things being removed, like the pin-selected individual hamstring curl. A good portion of the treadmills were replaced with Life Fitness's latest model with Bluetooth, Micro USB and old school iPhone connector. Yes, it has solitaire. I'm not sure if it has group games like some of the TechnoGym machines. The new treadmills don't decline. Blah. None of the other cardio equipment has changed. The olde worlde inspired antique stair climbers and TechnoGym Top Excite have not been updated. The ancient "crystalized sweat" from years of neglect remain. The biggest blow was the reduction from a 24 hour gym to one that closes for four hours nightly from midnight to 0400. Listen and you'll probably hear quite a few people buzzing about it. Fear not, the gym doesn't shut down precisely at midnight. Just get in the locker room at midnight and you'll have no problem. The scapegoat employed at first was cleanliness: "We are closing for four hours a night to help sanitize better." Well that's a damn lie and outright fraud. The cleanliness level has not improved, in fact it has gone way downhill. Not too long ago I spilled a bit of my chocolate Muscle Milk. After seven nights, I can still see the splash marks clearly on the floor and on the locker doors. Clearly, I missed a few spots here and there when I tried to clean it up. But anyway, cleanliness has not improved. You'll also notice that a bandage in one shower will remain for days at a time. The second (and current) scapegoat for hour reduction: "They are trying to save money." Yeah, well I think this is just more fraud. Their goal here is to get people to quit their current memberships at lower rates and then return to normal 24/7 operating hours and force those old members into a new/higher rate. For the pathetically low wages Life Time pays its employees, an additional four hours a day for two employees would barely put a dent in their budget. So, if you're unhappy with the reduced hours, keep the complaints going and hang on to your membership. Nearby John's Creek, Alpharetta and Woodstock are still 24 hours. Sandy Springs closes at midnight also. Also, if this gym wants to really save money then they should really look into all the members that share memberships. An Arab guy checking in with a membership that has the last name of Nguyen!? Are you kidding me? Okay, it's 2329, time for the sentry at the front to make the closing in 30 minutes announcement.
