Love this gym! It's expensive but you get what you pay for!! The classes are awesome!!

I came into this specific Lifetime Fitness with my auntie and little cousins. She had an appointment with Autumn. Autumn walked us back to the child center where we could drop off my cousins while my auntie and I could go explore and talk with her. The workers in the childcare center seemed like they knew everything and that they were child specialists..blah,blah.. (When we came back later to pick up the kids one of the workers was rocking my baby cousin in the dangerously in the baby sleeper, and she didn't even have him strapped in! He could've toppled out of that thing.) After we dropped off the kids, we all went into Autumn's office so she could explain to my auntie the different memberships, payment, and everything that came with it. Although I was kind of the "bystander" I noticed the weird type of vibe Autumn was giving off. As she was explaining the membership, my auntie had some questions and things she wanted to clarify to really understand. You could tell by the Autumn's facial expressions that she was getting irritated, but I DO NOT CARE. If you are working with customers and trying to SALE something you need to be willing to answer each and every concern that may have. No one is going to be sucked into a contract without knowing everything that they're about to get into. And I felt my auntie was asking some good, simple questions concerning the services for her, and the kids. She wanted to make sure that she was able to work out at the gym and the kids would be able enjoy themselves with the different programs. Autumn was trying to reassure about this and that, but I wasn't too sure. There were moments she where she didn't seem to know what she was talking about. She just sounded like a recorder; had a permanent fake smile, and said everything a recorded voice would say on the phone when you dial a certain number. Overall, the gym seems high-quality, but i need the staff to be the same. read more

Very nice gym. Yeah .:...The price is high but that because it's way more than a gym. They have a ton of very good classes that provide modifications for newbies. Can I get an amen! The kids center is the only one that I'll let my son stay in. The salon is good. The cafe is awesome. The gym is very clean. I haven't used the pool yet but it's insanely cool looking. This is more like a city than a gym. You get what you pay for. Love it here. read more

I went here a couple days ago to experience the facility. My friend has a membership so I was able to get a 7 day pass to try it out. Although this particular location is a bit far from my home, I still drove to see how it was. I'll list the pros and cons: Pros: 1.Large facility with lots of space and different things to do. 2.Clean and stocked locker room and plenty of fresh towels to use. 3.There's an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well as outdoor ones. 4.Steam room with eucalyptus was very refreshing. 5.Jacuzzi was so nice with the water feature inside. 6.Staff seemed nice and attentive with the exception of a couple. Cons: 1.Old, dated workout equipment. 2.Old, dated carpet. 3.The tv monitors are not around the entire workout facility like most gyms so if you are using one of the machines in the back you can forget about watching tv. 4.Many things were closed, maybe just the time of day or season. (Pool cafe, slides, and various exercise classes) 5.Tile hall leading to the showers had some gross brownish stuff on them, didn't appear too sanitary. 6.Shower shampoo (although might sound petty) was shampoo/body wash combo and had no conditioner which left your hair feeling very rough and dry. 7.There was a used bandaid in the pool and the bottom of the outside pool has cracks and chips, appearing to be worn and tired. 8.After finishing for the day I went to get my belongings and the locker wouldn't open. I had followed their directions on how to lock and unlock and had accessed it 3 times before leaving but for some reason it got stuck. I called the front desk and asked for assistance and the staff member told me to wait outside of the locker room by the exit. The staff said "just wait by the exit and if someone isn't there in a few minutes just call us again." Umm last time I checked, a guest shouldn't have to follow up with staff again when addressing a concern. My friend waited inside the locker room and I waited outside as instructed, dripping water all over the floor. About 6 to 7 minutes later my friend came to get me and said the staff member was inside the locker room. I told the guy assisting me what the front desk told me and he said "Yea, he's new, he doesn't know what he's doing." Oh well, regardless, I informed the staff member which locker I needed open and he went and opened it. I was surprised that he didn't ask me what was in my locker before opening. I felt so awkward that as he was opening it I told him quickly what was in it. I can't imagine the staff will simply open any locker that anyone asks... no security policy and procedure? Hmmm All in all it's a decent facility but I feel like unless the above mentioned concerns are not addressed it's not a good value for the money. For me, the product and service are the most important things to me. Service was sub par and the product needs a slight facelift. If I'm spending triple what a normal gym costs, then I expect a luxurious product and exceptional service. This just didn't hit the mark for me. read more

I am a gym snob, Lifetime is for people like me. Yes, you pay a premium--they are higher in price than the other $10 a month places. I did the add-on to my membership which allows access to any of the clubs. The eucalyptus steam room is exclusive to Lifetime--clears your sinuses right up. They have individual and family saunas. Children are allowed to exercise as opposed to sitting in a daycare area. My children are all teens so they need to be fit, it is a lifestyle. Anyone that complains or has a gripe is just impossible to please or cheap. Upgrades are available for an additional fee to have flexibility to go to other clubs. Some clubs are diamond status and offer more perks. This club has spa services, indoor and outdoor swimming options, a cafe, basketball courts and it is close to shopping at the Sugarloaf Mills Mall. read more

I've been LA Fitness member for years and I had a message from LifeTime Fitness had special weekend giving special membership for new members. I had never been to this fitness and wanted to give it a try and took a visit the one in Lawrenceville. The person came to gave me the information seemed like in a very rush, never asked to go to his office or sit down, just standing up gave me the price which was twice as much the cost of LA Fitness, It may be a better facility, I could even consider to become a member but He did not even offered to give me a tour. Been a member of 3 different LifeTimes and do really like the gym. It's big a lots of people sometimes so if don't like that get it. My BIGGEST complaint is not specific to this facility but so far the design of all of them I've been to and that the BATHROOM (at least Mens since I've not been into womens). The locker rooms have nice big wood lockers, pretty spacious, towels, plenty of sinks, pretty good showers, steam rooms, sauna. Kind of sounds like some high end hotels so far...yes. Then you walk into bathroom. Who designed this?? The first thing you are greeted with is those cheap metal walls with the door 1 foot off the floor so you see people's feet. Mind you, the stalls are not at the far end of the bathroom, like they usually are, but right at the front door! Lots of privacy there. And UNLIKE a nice hotel and rest of locker room where you might expect the wood like walls and door that goes all the way to the floor (privacy) you get that airport look...you know so the cleaning person can easily see if anyone is hiding or passed out in there? Of course when you put the stalls at the front what else can happen...smells. What amazes me is not just that they let this odd fetish begin, but that I saw 2 clubs open a few years ago and BOTH had same design!! No idea who thinks this is possibly a good design. I love this gym! It's always very clean and they have fresh towels. I could care less about super fancy workout machines like some gyms have these days. The equipment they have is well maintained and works great. Lifetime has a ton of fitness classes. I love the hot yoga classes. The pool, hot saunas, wet saunas are all great, and I enjoy them. My only complaint is the Cafe staff can be a bit rude sometimes. A simple "you are welcome" or "how can I help you" would be nice. read more

The Life Time Fitness Spa is a hidden gem inside the larger LTF facility. I've used the fitness facilities for years, walking past the Spa without a second thought. I recently tried it for a haircut, and have been really impressed by the personalized service and professional staff. The appointment process reminds you via text and email. Upon arrival, the front desk checks you in, seats you and provides a beverage. The facilities are pleasant, clean and well designed. My stylist, Diana, was friendly, appropriately talkative, and does a great cut, with attention to all my personal preferences. I've been back twice now, and intend to become a regular. read more

I really enjoy working out here but it is noticeably different at night. The locker rooms are often trashed with towels everywhere that you have no where to put your bag when getting ready. The overall cleanliness of the club is really poor for the amount of money you pay. At $72 a month I expect it to be kept clean. Also changing your hours for the first of the year is a big detraction for me and is making me reconsider my membership renewal. I really don't think the management in this location listens to what it's club members are saying. I've commented on my experience at night several times in the customer comments area and it doesn't ever get addressed. There are a lot of people who prefer to work out later due to their jobs and lifestyle. Just because it is considered an "off time" to work out does not mean it should be neglected during the later evening hours. From the other reviews I have read I see I am not the only one who sees this. Please re-evaluate your cleanliness standards and get a evening staff who cares about what they do. You're going to be loosing lots of business if it doesn't improve which i think is a shame as i really enjoy working out here read more

We were EMBARRASSED and humiliated by a staff member. I will never return to that place. My dad had a membership and we were thinking to try it out. Staff thought we couldn't pay for it so he said "let's not waste each other's time" . My sister also got some wrong info about the price and he basically embarrassed her in front of everybody and kept going. We left super humiliated and will never return again. I was a bit worried to join after so many bad reviews but we love Lifetime. I really enjoy my PT, Tarisa. The yoga classes are nice too! Now if only the people that go would pickup after themselves, put the phones down and workout when in the machines and not try to save a machine for an hour while they really only need for a few reps, all would be perfect. read more

I like the convenience offered at this gym but it seems inadequately staffed. I literally just called to check club hours (is this club no longer 24 hours?) And received a message stating it is closed today, January 17 (what was that, 3 weeks ago?) . . . I was in 2 days ago and of the 3 stalls available in the men's lockeroom, all were dirty, extremely so. (The bathroom stalls are usually in this condition.) When I was changing i noticed a young girl (about 6 years old) in the lockeroom with I'm guessing, her father. There are no words to describe how disgusting that is and I understand it has something to do with the other member's bad decision-making skills but, if the club had attendants in the locker room, say, cleaning the dirty stalls I've written about, perhaps they could enforce their policies and would have encountered the father/little girl. The locker rooms are usually a mess with soiled towels thrown about. The same is true in the gym /weights areas. I am never on that floor without there being towels left on the ground/machines. There r times too, I will encounter used water bottles on the ground in the middle of walkways. I say this to suggest that people are trashy but the staff should be able to clean up after them and, when encountering someone leaving trash or towels on the ground, tell them to not do so. It seems better staffing (not necessarily more workers, just staff filled with pride for their workplace) could solve these issues. Also, I was recently swimming laps and a group of 4 young children were playing, swimming from lane to lane despite the people using those lanes for their workouts, myself included. The lifeguard just scowled (he was literally staring at them/their direction) but didn't say a thing to the kids. Why is it my duty to correct unsportsmen behavior while I'm working out, while a lifeguard is present? Aside from that the gym has great classes and many options but I must say the cafe is not so great. read more

The facility itself is nice but here is an email I sent to the manager of the facility. He has yet to respond to my email or return either of my two phone calls. I am canceling my membership and joining the YMCA. Just as nice a facility and much better price. AND a Y membership allows one to use any facility. I called and left a voicemail for you this morning to find out the best way to get started at Lifetime. I made my first visit last Friday and have to tell you I was unimpressed!! Ive been a member of a fitness facility for 30+ years and was a member at the Sandy Springs Lifetime in 2013/2014 so I'm pretty familiar with how to use equipment, work out, etc. I didn't think I needed a big intro to your facility, but maybe I do. When I went to the desk and told the two people there it was my first visit and to please tell me what I needed to do, I got extremely limited info. They gave me my temporary membership card and literally pointed me to the locker rooms. They didn't show me, but just pointed in the direction! Fine, I can usually find a locker room. I asked where the cardio areas and work our rooms were, I was again POINTED to upstairs. When I started to use the elliptical, I assumed I could use my ear buds to listen to the TV. Not so. I went to a desk in the equipment room and approached two guys. I asked about how to use the sound and they looked at each other with a smirk. I asked if that was an odd question and they said no. I asked why, then, were y'all laughing. They said all of the "professionals" must be busy and I should talk to another lady at another desk. I went to her and asked he the same question. She looked surprised and told me she is a nutrition professional and not for the equipment. In fairness to her, she was nice but couldn't help me. She called another guy over and asked about my question. By now, I'm thinking this is pretty ridiculous. They guy tells me that you have to use your phone and an app to be able to listen to the TVs. This really isn't my idea of a great experience for a new member. Also, you haven't returned my call. Please call me and tell me if I should be speaking with someone else. This gym is racist and segrated. Down to all the classes its always full of whites and a few minorities. The look the give you when you go to this gym is cold and you shouldn' be here. The gym itself has some great equipments and is clean. Besides these nuicenc es it could be a good place to workout. I was harassed by random whites and management does nothing about it. When this is brought to their attention they act as if its your fault for being minornity. read more

Been a member for 2 years. Facility is huge. Something for everyone. Thats where the positives end. The locker rooms are dirty a lot of times. Mold growing in the men's showers. Some pushy salesperson is always trying to upsell you some personal training or health products. Finally decided to move on when my watch, phone, and wallet were stolen in the locker room. Lock was pried open. The only person I saw was a locker room attendant. When I asked to speak with a manager, the response was immediate hostility. Got the run around for about 2 weeks, manager was always " in a meeting". Called Corporate, was referred back to the same manager. Main reason for review is complete and utter lack of customer service. The level of arrogance is unbelievable. Trying to cancel was another stressful ordeal. I would not recommend them. read more

LIFETIME FITNESS SUGARLOAF LOCATION (Duluth, GA)\ Great and awesome staff! OPERATION (OPS) DEPARTMENT- you guys rock-Good JOB!. These staff worked so hard to maintain the facility clean and free of clutter. This GYM made tremendous improvements. The bathroom smells so good. There''s always fresh and clean towels available. The staff are very friendly and approachable. There are variety of exercise equipment to select with. I enjoy the Jacuzzi SPA and every morning I see this OPS staff clean it. I also enjoy the STEAM ROOM , great way to relax before and after work. Of course gonna love the swimming pool. In addition, one of the reasons why we joined Lifetime Fitness is because they offer extra curricular activities for children. My son is taking swim lesson and my daughter is in Swim Team. At first, my three year old son doesn't know how to swim and scared of the water. Now, he shows many improvements. He can now float, and put his face in the water and now in level 2. I'm so impressed and very satisfy. My 11 year old daughter, who's in the Lifetime Swim Team, enjoys every minute of it. Love going here!! Really enjoy this GYM! Family oriented :) SUPERB!!! I am a member over a year at this location. Last Wed morning, I left my tennis shoe (ASIC) in woman locker room. Next day, I asked reception lady at 7am about my shoes and she said no without looking at lost and found area or call somebody to check lost and found room in swimming pool area. Then, I went to my car to recheck and came back in less than 5 mins and walk straight to locker room. That lady yelled at me to come back and scan card again. I told her that I already scanned less than 5 mins ago and she should remember me as I talked to her about my shoes. She told me that I should inform her before I left the building. OMG! Do I get free pass to use this fitness? I am membership and pay monthly fee to use service. I felt that she has no service mind at all. Since I am sure that I left my shoes there, I called them to check for me and the same answer 'no'. Today, I went to fitness and asked Asian look lady, who takes care locker room, about my shoes. She brought me to lost and found room on the back and I found it. She said I am lucky that I asked early as they will throw everything away to dumpster on Sun. I have bad impression with reception service and dumpster will eat my shoes if I do not decide to persistently ask staff 3 times in 2 days where is my shoes. read more

Until last week, I would have given this club a 5 star rating, but for an unfortunate run in with the "Member Services Manager, " who it turns out, is not the least interested in service to members. I notified her by email in September 2016 that my last month at the club would be October 31, 2016. She acknowledged receipt of the email. In December I learned that they had continued to charge my credit card for both November and December. I emailed her and then called her about the problem. When she finally got around to returning my call (on a Friday night when I was in my car fighting traffic in D.C.) she disavowed any knowledge of the earlier email saying that I had to send notice via certified letter.When I protested she rudely cut me off and tried to transfer me to "corporate." Funny - I thought that was her job and she wouldn't even begin to listen to me. Since I had her on speaker phone. my wife witnessed the entire exchange and was horrified by her "screw you" attitude. I was a member of this club for several years and enjoyed it while I belonged. However, this woman completely ruined my view with her obnoxious demeanor and unwillingness to hear me out. She is the type of employee who gives fitness clubs a bad name for the all too common practice of billing beyond the member termination date. I have owned three businesses during my career and if this woman worked for me, Friday would have been her last day. Simply the most reprehensible customer service I have ever witnessed. read more

My husband's locker was secretly opened, and the phone and wallet were lost. Locker key cabinet has been on him, but when he open the locker again, found it valuable thing missing, is terrible, their manager, explains that we only provide members change clothes the cabinet, but really can not ensure the safety of change clothes in your things. This is not too insulting for all the members. Do you only pay the monthly fee to the members and do not know the security of the members' private property? read more

What a scam! If you ever try to cancel your membership they force you to come in or send a certified letter and then .... It takes 30 days before they cancel. They increased our prices 2 times over the past year without notifying us. Poor customer service. I would look elsewhere. read more

I have a trainer there and his name is George. He's amazing, he really work you hard but results is his motto. Don't be late because he's only gone make the workout more vigorous because you'll be short on time but you get your money's worth. I would recommend him to anyone who's serious about getting results. Some of the staff is very friendly like Brianna who great me by name every time, she's really amazing. Lewis in the cafe is supper friendly and nice as well. However I was charged two payments on my card in the month of November totaling over $500 and when I expressed my issue to Evan Brooks the training manager he looked at me with discuss. He acted as it wasn't an issue or concern of his. I emailed him and never got an response. I called twice and never got a returned phone call so I decided to ride back up there and I spoke with Lana the assistant manager and she was great. She informed me that she will handle the situation and get it over to Evan and even gave me her contact information. She was texting me throughout the day answering any questions. The next day came and the issue wasn't resolved so I came back to Lifetime and spoke with Thomas Westbrook and this guy showed no concern, no care in the world. He gave me some cheap line about if he had the money he would give it to me personally (BS). I told him I would dispute the claim and he said no, which shows he wasn't trying to give me a refund at all. He said the process would take 5-7 days and I needed that money today. In my personal opinion, I believe they were taking advantage of me. They are selfless people who only care about themselves. It might have been because I was black that they were not looking to help me at all. If it was someone they know the problem would have been fixed. I just moved into the area and looked for a club. Signed up at this one. First appointment with Trainer for introduction, he was a no show. Had another appointment scheduled, did not hear back from him. Decided that the 10 mile one way travel to this club was too long. So I took advantage of the 14 day guarantee to drop. Went in, filled out the paper work and a week later I am still being shown as an active member. read more

I joined this gym simply because of child care and I am extremely disappointed! Today was only my first day at the gym and my one year olds first time in the "day care". He was there for about an hour and a half before I came to pick him up, when I got there the lady at the front desk was very rude. She claimed she had been looking for me and paging me for an hour because my baby was crying hysterically however I was on the floor training with a trainer. When I told her this she questioned me as if I was lying. Puzzling to me! Did she think I'd drop my one year old off there and leave the building? I couldn't even imagine! Once I went and picked him up I realized that he used the bathroom at that point I was beyond fuming! Ofcourse he was crying! We'd all cry if we had to sit with poop in our pants for an hour. Once I mentioned that she went on to say "that's another reason we were looking for u" I'm like what? He has a bag here! "Oh we are not allowed to change them or feed them" I'm like "I didn't know that this is just my first time bringing him" her " yes u did I've seen him here a couple of time" ( only time he'd ever been there prior was the day I became a member). She was so nasty she stormed out saying she would get someone else to talk to me. The head of the department (Porsha) came to speak to me and she was pleasant. I'm confused as to what ill do now. I don't know if I want to drop my son off in a so called child care area where he's just there no one is truly caring for him. I wish it had been explained to me upfront that they wouldn't change or feed him that way after 30 or 45 minutes I would've known to go check on him. And I definitely don't want unpleasant people looking after him. Without child care it's no point in having a membership there. I think I may try another location. And if its another unpleasant experience I will just have to cancel my membership. On another note Grethel was very nice and helpful. I love this Lifetime Fitness. They give you a tremendous amount of variety. Every type of class you can imagine. They have really done their homework on what fitness people love and deliver above and beyond. The rate has gone up every year and people continue to come. That says something. The facilities are beautiful and you feel like you are in a higher end hotel/spa. Unfortunately, this place has become a little too crowded for its own good. read more

I'm a member of the Sandy Springs Lifetime but since I work in Gwinnett I decided to give this location a shot today. I was there from 1:30pm-3pm and come to find out my book bag was stolen out of my car with my wallet, iPad, cards, etc. I was pretty surprised giving the fact that I never get any emails or alerts about thieves in the parking lot. Because of the odds of them just targeting me (since it's only my second time) I'm pretty convinced that there's thieves at this location 24/7 checking cars and following members so they can break in your car at the perfect time. Lifetime employees were very nonchalant about this incident today and did little to get to the bottom of this despite catching the 3 thieves on camera. Being a new member of Lifetime Diamond I believe it would be ethical and very helpful if we got emails about any incidents; one of the main reasons I'm so frustrated is because they don't communicate with members which is a huge problem. Don't risk getting mugged or coming up short in the locker room or in the parking lot. The chances of them catching anyone is super low and they are not going to let anyone know about it because they are trying to sell memberships! read more

It is SO crowded during the summer. There should be a 18 and over age limit. Its a great gym, but there are way too many people on the machines, at the classes, in the sauna, the parking lot is always full...the list goes on. Overall, great gym. read more

Horrible customer service, horrible management . However the gym is clean, and the equipment is up to date and the gym has a lot nice features. The Duluth location has the worst customer service. The Johns creek location is the better option, great service and nice atmosphere. 1 of many of our bad experiences. ( we went to the Duluth location on July 3, 2016. The pool hours for kids end at 6 on Sunday. But they had a special holiday hours on their website that Says " pool closes at 7, it's been extended 1 hour for the holiday weekend. When we arrive at the 5:30 there was a sign up front that said pool hours extended by 1 hour for the holiday weekend. After 30 minutes the pool closes at 6. We ask the life guard about the extended hours " he said " we see the sign out front but they don't pay us enough to stay out here for 1 extra hour" . We called the front desk from the pool, the manger " Autum" said they have no jurisdiction over aquatics so the pool has to close. She apologized that it was on the website and she said she didn't know who put the sign up front. Thats what I mean be horrible management and horrible service. read more

RUDE customer service, nice facility. I went to join Life Time and switch memberships from another gym. I was discussing the enrollment fee with the membership manager and was told it was the lowest it will be for a while and there was no negotiation. I asked about a friend of mine who joined for a lower fee and and was told that happened three days ago and it was no longer available. I stated that my friend joined month ago and received the discount and was then told, "Ok, yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about...I've only worked here for seven years". He continued to be argumentative and condescending (essentially losing a membership over $40). As I turned to leave I said, "Ok, Sorry." to which he responded, "NO, I'm sorry for you." At first glance this is an amazing gym looks well maintained and is nice and big.......... but its actually over crowded and management acts like snobs i was a visitor to the gym and just to get access for one day i had to wait for 30 mins for 1 person to grant me entrance for one day who was apparently harder to find then wheres waldo........ i bet its easier to get into heaven then this place. apparently if ur a member u can only have a visitor visit 3 times in 1 year?????????? who does that. well aside from that being open 24 hours is a plus only come at night so u can actually use the machines without having to wait in line. besides horrible management i had made up my mind to join the gym after working out and playing bball. on my way out of the gym i noticed i couldnt find my car....... i was alarmed because i knew i parked 6 spaces from the front of the building. i looked up and down the parking lot 4 about 5 mins then called the cops, when the cops arrived it was 12 am in the night i was in the gym for 4 hours parked in the front and had my honda stolen. for all this gyms expensive exercise equipment and luxury it doesnt even have security in its parking lot wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont be fooled bye the cameras in the lot they cant identify anyone with them @ night. ladies be careful u could easily be attacked and never seen again in this colossal parking lot with no security. read more

I'm so sad I moved away from this gym! They have so many cardio machines you never have to wait for anything. Plus, the machines are clean and rarely broken. There are lots of disinfectant towel dispensers around. The indoor and outdoor pools are quite large with plenty of room, plus I love lounging by the outdoor pool in the summer after a workout. The group fitness schedule is packed and diverse. I'm not a fan of the food in the cafe, but its good to have it there just in case I need to grab something to go. The locker rooms are spacious and clean with free towels. My only complaint is the number of kids. They have what looks like a great kids center, so I'm not sure why so many people feel the need to bring their kids with them onto the cardio floor and weight area or in the locker rooms. And yes, like any gym I've belonged to the place is PACKED from 4pm - 8pm on weekdays. read more
