Post amp cycle spin with Brenna
    Tiffany W.

Higher ended fitness gym, but worth the investment. Why? Tons and tons of group fitness classes (nice variety), considerate hours for every human (early to late) which is so crucial when we look at occupations, saunas in both locker rooms, complimentary towel service (clutch), showers with all products stocked by LTF including shower gel, razors, q-tips, tampons, etc., lots of treadmills, stretching area, lifting space, Life Cafe (where you can purchase protein shakes, have a coffee, grab a granola bar) and really friendly staff. My go to class is AMP cycle where I adore I instructor, Brenna. AMP cycle cannot be found anywhere else (at least nothing compares) so it has been a real treat to dive into this space. 4 stars because this location in particular is like a dungeon with very limited natural light or windows (so sad) and there is no pool. If this location ever remodeled, it would be such a huge win for Saint Paul. The hardest part of coming here is knowing you'll be in a cave.

Half decent Lifetime. Pros: Near my house gym is clean remodel was nice friendly staff Cons Parking garage is too small and a pain to get in and out of cardio area is a little cramped free weight area is a little cramped it's convenient that's why I go here. Given another options I may think differently.

This lifetime gets the job done. Good location and nice staff. Check out Heather for alpha and Lisa and Anna for Pilates. Lots of other helpful people to help you stay fit and have fun. Spin, yoga and others are good but I'm hitting the weights now.

This lifetime has a small, shared parking lot attached that you need to use your card to access or else you are restricted to street parking. The club is gold level but is significantly smaller than the Eagan or Lakeville (other gold locations) . However it is packed with machines considering it's size and is clean with a friendly staff. Also it is convenient if you live or work in Saint Paul .

The gym is on the basement level of a larger building that includes some vague B2B places, a bank, and a Life Cafe & Spa.

This is sort of like a halfway Lifetime. It's located in the middle of Highland Park in St. Paul, inside of a larger building with several other businesses. It's actually in the basement of the building, so the ceilings tend to be low and it feels like you're on a ship or submarine. Being in such a confined place, this Lifetime location does not have a pool, any major sports courts, or much space at all. It does have the basics and a fairly large amount of weight equipment. All things considered, I feel like I'm paying normal Lifetime rates(not the cheapest) for only some of the services. I'll also note to readers that most of the pictures for this locations Yelp page are stock photos of larger, more modern Lifetime facilities that don't represent this actual location. I've stuck with it though because it's so close to my home in Saint Paul and I place a real premium to not having to make some extra commute to the gym. If you live in the Highland Park area and are willing to pay a premium, this is a good option. If you're more than 10 minutes away from it, go somewhere else.

Nice club that offers lots of yoga classes. If it had a pool and whirlpool it'd rate higher.

My main gym is Maplewood, but I thought this one would be convenient. I knew it was bad but not…read morethis bad. The only time worth going is 5-8am so it is not packed, and even when packed, it is full of terrible gym etiquette. I am not even talking about cleaning off your machine after using it, which is overkill unless you are leaving sweat marks. But I cannot tell you how many times it would be packed and someone is using three machines at once, on opposite corners of the gym, with no phone, water bottle, towel, or headphones to even indicate the machine is in use. This is the same for people using three different sets of dumbbells while it is packed. Machines being in service for weeks at a time is to be expected, and even people being loud while working out, not a problem. However, even the basics facilities are rough. I went on a Friday and all of their water fountains were not working, no sign, and a bucket underneath one to catch a leak. I tried to fill my preworkout and a staff member told me they shut it off for the pool and he would fix it. He did not, I drank it before he came up to me and it tasted like straight chlorine. If I was a woman I would never go after 8am. The people are rough and unabashedly stare at women squatting. The no guests for basketball rule is a great addition, since the other St. Paul location (my old go-to) was shut down after countless fights and squad cars parked out front. It just sucks paying what ends up to be $35+ a month for a real gym that is not a real gym. At this point I see why people suck it up and go to planet fitness, snap, or anytime, while people who can afford it go to Los Canpeones or Lifetime.

Covid rules can be followed at other gym systems and not have restricted hours that prevent shift workers from being able to attend. Will be canceling ASAP.
