Great location! Yes, it is small compared to other Life Time locations. However, the club is always immaculate, there's plenty of equipment to choose from, and the employees are always super friendly and helpful! It's a nice mixed group of people, and they even have fun little vendor fairs on some Saturday mornings! They also have an amazing spa and cafe! If you don't go at peak times, it's rather mellow! I was a member for about 6months, mainly for the yoga classes, although I did take advantage of the free weights and rowing machine. Then out of the blue the yoga schedule got changed and most of the classes I attended got cut. I was infuriated. The man program of yoga classes (Jan) didn't seem To care. I voiced my concerns to member relations, who just shrug their shoulders and referred me to the director (Earl). So I reached out to him and complained to this head hancho of the gym. His response was "we are about profit, we cancel classes where the attendance is below a certain threshold. If you are unhappy go elsewhere." And so I did! Of course shocked at his openly disregarding attitude. Updated: I joined the Jewish community center down the street (on Cleveland). I'm so glad I did! They have plenty of super early and evening classes, a great gym, basketball court, and excellent new pool. Plus cheaper than Lifetime (JCC at $69/mo). Happy with my decision to leave Lifetime. Plus, I don't feel I'm at a meat market at the JCC. read more

Even after all these years, I still like this club. The parking has improved since they installed a card light scanner at the gate instead of a "open your door or roll down your window and get half your body out the door so you can hurt your arm while swiping your card upside down and backwards while still having your feet on the brake" system that was pretty much terrible. If you go at 6am or 5pm, expect a lot of people, simple as that. I go during the day and it's pretty much a ghost town and I love it. It's a simple, get what you need gym, great classes, upgraded equipment, new floors, nice locker rooms, nice big restaurant style cafe (much bigger than most), great trainers, and overall good vibe of the club. I like it because real people go there; not crazy perfect supermodels who don't actually need to work out. Thanks LT! read more

I really like the lifetime in Highland park for its cleanliness and proximity to my home. The staff is always polite and helpful. The only things I wish they had over here was pool and jacuzzi like they have in Eagan's Lifetime. I am not sure if its even feasible to put a pool in this place but nothing should stop me from dreaming that perhaps one day ;-) read more

Yoga at this Lifetime is where it's at! With a specially designed yoga studio they turn up the heat and get your blood flowing. The club is smaller than most but has a great urban feel. I hear the new group fitness director is really going to kick things up! read more

Nice gym as all the other life time fitness' I've been in. I had to switch to this lifetime after beginning college here a few years ago. The drawback is that this one is underground and there are no windows (for some weird reason I cannot fully explain this really bothers me) and there isn't as much room for weight equipment as I was used to because its smaller than most in the outlying suburban areas, so I recommend working out during off peak times if you don't want to wait to use equipment. Other than that, a great place that gets the job done. read more

Been a member here for 2 years. Love the childcare, so many wonderful teachers that my 2 daughters have grown to love. The location is great for me, we drive an extra 5 min and pay a little more for this club because its worth it. I'm sure i work out more because the resort like experience at lifetime is refreshing and healthy for my while family. read more

Do not bother. They will not show you the gym unless you give them all of your contact information and sign a piece of paper that says they can market to you. They are not up front about pricing. If it was so great, they would not have to keep it a secret. It is obvious the sales people are on a referral/commission system, and are more interested in their referral bonus than the success of the business or the health of their customers. read more

Parking is a nightmare. Yoga classes are so full you actually bump into other people when doing some poses. If you want to get into the best classes, plan on being there at least 30 minutes early and standing in line. Unless it is the class where you have to first get a wristband to allow entry into the class. This gym is so overcrowded it's ridiculous. And I mean even Tuesday mornings at 10 which should be an "off time." I don't even dare to go at 5 on a weekday. I gave my notice cancellation notice today. I'm joining another gym, that isn't nearly as pretty and costs more money every month...but I'll be able to go to any class I want to without feel claustrophic and there is ample parking. read more

It depends what you are looking for.... I like group exercise classes particularly spinning, running and high intensity training. I've been to cycling classes here that I didn't break a sweat - and it was warm in the room! I'm used to classes that are so hard you're barely making it through but feel great afterward. The classes Ive been to here I feel worse afterward like I've just wasted my time! I'm only a member here until I find a new gym (I've had some recommendations). I switched to Lifetime for one reason - availability of the stair master. I needed to do 60 min of HIIT cardio after a 1-2 hour workout 6 days per week. I float for a large group dental practice and am in a different city each week. I also hate wasting time in traffic so I always go to the gym after work. Anytime Fitness had many more locations and I have since switched back. I was unimpressed with a few things for how much I was paying for. The St. Paul location is underground and the floor is uneven, I found myself embarrassingly tripping over nothing. The back weight room cable section smelled like puke for the whole 3 months I was here, I did report it but the smell never went away. I appreciated the sauna, but wished there was a steam room. I was displeased with the cleanliness. The upper support beams throughout the basement floor had about 1/4 inch of dust which you could see clearly while using the stair climber. I go to the gym to train for physique competitions - this gym has every piece of equipment that you would ever need, is well spaced out in an organized manner, and you will never be waiting to use a piece of equipment which I appreciated! Colleen at the LifeSpa does a great job at a deep tissue massages and I may return to this LifeTime just for the LifeSpa. I don't have kids and don't play basketball or tennis/racquet ball or swim, so the lack of these is not important to me and did not carry any weight in my review. Christine, Tonee, and Cisco are excellent employees, the staff in general are super friendly, informative and helpful. I have been to 6 or 7 LifeTime locations and this location by far has the best customer service - this is why I am leaving 4 stars instead of 3! read more

Life Time took money from my account when they should not have and then made it my problem. All I needed was an apology and refund and never received the apology. The lack of communication was astonishing considering I am paying a couple hundred dollars a month. After 6 days, I received my refund and I went in to cancel. The managers refused to meet with me and will not let me cancel until the following month. I would highly recommend NOT joining this club as once they have your bank account, they do not care about working with members and take zero accountability. Join a gym that cares about their members and communicates! (Also the parking here is terrible) read more

I only came here once on New Year's Eve because I really wanted to give this club a try after frequenting other Lifetimes in the area. I'd say this one is comparable to the Bloomington North location as both are smaller, more intimate clubs, and people seem like they are serious about working out at each location. The women's locker room was very clean when I visited, and people were friendly - one lady complimented me on my balance as I was awkwardly putting on my workout tights! LOL. I think if I frequented this location I could have made some friends here. Making friends outside of TEAM classes is a near impossibility at other Lifetime locations (St. Louis Park, Eagan, Crosstown, Bloomington N/S), so this is really special. The crowd here seems younger (20s-30s) than other locations. Enter the parking ramp from S. Finn Street after driving down Ford Parkway - this is important to note if you are not familiar with the area. You will have to take your membership card out to scan in the card reader as you enter AND exit the ramp. Parking is free for Lifetime members. Other reviewers have said the parking ramp is very crowded and this is probably true on most days, but since most people are out partying on New Year's Eve instead of working out, I had no problem heading there straight from my work. They have all the weight lifting equipment you would need to complete your workout. No hot tub here but there is a dry heat sauna. read more

i've been going here for years. I've always liked it, but since the remodel I like it even more! Now that there are multiple fitness studios, including dedicated yoga, pilates, and cycling studios have been such a great addition because they can offer more classes. Although, the spinning studio can get pretty steamy. I like to use the treadmills, and even during busy times I almost never have to wait. I've had mixed experiences with personal trainers. Some of them are SO young and sometimes the workouts seem very canned. read more

I stopped by the gym while taking a walk the other day and just wanted to get some information on the rates and classes available. They told me they did not have a rate sheet and that i would have to fill out a form and talk with someone. Really?! anyway, I did that and sat around for about 10 minutes waiting. Some guy walked up to me, no introduction, nothing and just asks me to follow him to his office. I was only interested in their classes, maybe once a week since I already have weights and an exercise bike, but they said the least I could pay is about $80. Obviously this did not seem practical to me and I asked if there is package pricing or something like that. At that point the guy pretty much dismissed me, saying they do not compete with other gyms on pricing and that maybe Lifetime is not the place for me. I just thought WOW! OK. He is right.
