This facility is definitely NOT the judge free zone. LOL The management believes in a hostile environment with bullying. They do not value customers or associates over 40 and much less 50 years of age. It is a place that has a pretty package but once you peel back the layers you get an empty, un-empathetic, egocentric vibe from the management team and that carries all the way through to the core of this location. This is the company that jumped on the "lets make it look like we care about soldiers but not know the definition and meaning to PTSD or Complex PTSD", "lets make it look like we care about the member's kids" or finally "lets make it look like we care about those who just entered in to loose weight and become healthy." This is a place that hates anything different or struggling. Most of all, this company has a major hate for any age group above the millennial age group. While they carry a smile and friendly sales look on the outside, on the inside it is an ugly facility full of the bullies and the brainless. Support your small business entrepreneurs and seek out independent yoga instructor. Don't be ashamed to use the less "pretty" gyms. Lastly, use the Y or other pool facilities just to give this giant mega company a kick in the butt. read more

I've been a member for 2 years at this Lifetime location and I can only say that it is OK are best. My main issues are broken equipment and disinterested staff. In the upstairs cardio section, I've been looking at the same the Woodway treadmills with 'Needs Repair' signs on them for at least the last two months, yet nothing seems to have been done with them. Beyond this there are multiple other pieces of equipment with dead sounds, missing channels or blurry screens. I typically need to hop between 3-4 pieces of cardio equipment before I find one that is in real working order. It's pretty terrible for such a pricey place. Also, the pool. During a busy Sunday afternoon in July there were a number of people at the pool. Unfortunately, I witnessed one random child have GI distress and vomit multiple times across the sidewalk at the bottom of the water slides. As I was in the water next to those slides and because swimmers continued to run through vomit before jumping in the pool, I asked the lifeguard in the station beside me if she could ask someone to come look at or clean the mess. She literally said, 'I'm a lifeguard, that isn't my problem,' then looked away. Obvs, I was incensed so I immediately walked to the check in station outside the gym doors and asked the workers there if they could have someone clean it. They both looked at me like a deer in headlights before one mumbled that someone from cleaning would attend to it. His answer was so cheap, empty and vague that it was clear he had no intention of calling for help or following through for any sort of response, it was merely throwaway words meant to placate me. So, I called him on it and let him know that I was not leaving his station until he or someone else came out. Then, and only then, did he ask for help before eventually walking inside to get more staff. This process took at least 30 and in that time with the proximity of the vomit to the pool and the foot traffic through it and subsequently into the pool, I can't even think of the number of people that were exposed. This is an issue that should have generated more concern for member/guest safety than was displayed by staff. I don't know if this is some sort of health code violation, but at the very least it is extremely gross. This is a picture of the staff and management apathy you too can expect to receive for $250/month. Also, I am completely disinterested in any management replies that start with a half apology about how disappointed they are in my experience, then finish by asking me to call an 800 number or to email them. Quality machines and staff in the gym and cafe provide the sense of a good value for money with a price point between LA Fitness and Cherokee Negatives: 1. Food lacking any pizzazz lives on the menu for eternity, and LT charges 30% more than anywhere outside the gym to enjoy. 2. A rewards system that only applies to the indoor cafe and requires 40 squares ticked off to receive the benefit. Hello Digital Age! 3. Lots of admonition to only consume LT food and drinks on premises shouted to Members carting coolers into the pool area 4. Reservations for classes 5. Posters stay on the walls for years. It's like LT is stuck in a previous era. Personal favorite: the Aaron Hernandez lookalike running on a treadmill 6. Wrong people are running the child care area. 7. LT Corporate recently added a BINDING arbitration clause to the childcare agreement and inserted it without warning or discussion. For an **unlicensed** childcare facility to require a BINDING arbitration clause is a disaster waiting to happen for member parents. Expensive. Since it's a diamond level club, you get access to all LifeTimes everywhere. That wasn't really a feature that I needed, particularly since I was joining because it's the closest gym to my house, so I can exercise while everyone else in my house is still asleep. There is only one price, no discounts for loyalty or contracts or partial memberships. You do get $150 LifeTime bucks every 6 months, and you can use those to pay for personal trainers, small group trainers, or swim lessons. I used my LT bucks for Masters Swim classes. I loved the class. Natalie is awesome. She's got a great attitude, particularly for 5am. She comes up with great work outs. The thing that had me a little upset was having to share lanes of the meter pool with non-class members. If I'm paying, I think I should get priority. There were always plenty of lanes in the yard pool available... The place is clean. The staff working at the front was almost always friendly, even at 5am. At 5am, I never had problems finding lockers. You get a lot but you also don't. It's like a fancy hotel... the more you pay upfront, the less is included.... so it's extra for swim classes. It's extra for Pilates. It's extra for training (which is normal for most gyms)... In my experience, you need to be going everyday and spending quite a bit of time there for it to be worthwhile. Yes, there's a salon and a cafe and child care and evening events. So if you're the kind that wants to live at the gym, maybe it is worth it. read more

Life Time in Sandy Springs is way overpriced for what you get. Compared to the Life Time clubs I visited in Northern VA earlier this year, this one is $60 more and offers nothing at all special. I guess you might be mesmerized by the super cheap/low quality body lotion and body wash/shampoo they offer. I'm not. This club is in the Equinox price range, but doesn't offer anything close to Equinox. The cardio room is humongous and is always empty. This could be a make or break moment for Life Time. For me, it's a break. I don't want to work out in a lifeless Lexus dealer looking gym. The rest of the gym is fairly nice, but nothing special. The equipment is not stellar or top of the line. The nearby LA Fitness has the exact same equipment and much, much more for over $100 less! I visited this Life Time for a week until deciding it wasn't worth my $160/month. The sales girl that was helping me. Pushing me. . . to sign up was like a uses car salesman in female form. She was also drenched in cheap perfume and dressed like someone you would encounter at a low budget Las Vegas off-strip casino!!! If Life Time is going to charge such a higher than average rate, they should hire people that fit the part. During my last two days, I noticed a lot of broken car window glass inside the parking garage. That was the last straw. read more

Don't be fooled by the nice facilities. the place does have potential, but the bad customer service, lack of exclusivity, and the high prices make it a very bad buy. I joined and they charged me $140 per month with a very high, non-refundable initiation fee. They tout these "MyLT bucks" which are a sham. I'm still waiting for my lessons, the pool tote is a $5 cheap plastic bag, and the personnel are undertrained (except for a couple of exceptions). Try calling the place or finding someone to help you. I should've known when I was getting the tour and the someone asked for help and the tour guide said "that's not my job". really? I should've known better then but was swayed by the nice facilities and thought it was an isolated incident. My latest call went something like this: "you have to go on the website.. I don't know". She wasn't rude, she just had no idea how to schedule me for a class and was rushed. The pool, basketball courts, and spa area are packed with employees and their friends ( I asked a few of them to confirm) giving the place a cheaper gym feel. I say this only because for paying that price you'd expect some exclusivity. There are a couple of diamonds in the rough. The facilities are nice and some employees (front desk manager and a couple of others) are nice. However, this is not enough to compensate for the bad aspects. A few other watchouts: - No guests allowed on weekends (what's the point of gues priviledges)? - LT Bucks expire quickly, and there are waiting lists (SOL) - The classes and lessons are mostly during office hours. If you work, SOL! - No kickboxing or other common classes. Oh wait, they do have one.. but it's EXTRA! - Prices DO vary. They make it seem like a fixed price, but some members pay more, some pay less. I've confirmed it. NEGOTIATE! My first time at life time fitness cafe. Arrive at 12:20 for lunch. Ordered the beef brisket sandwich. It took over 30 minutes to receive my sandwich. There was four employees working that I could see. Two guys were working on orders. I saw 5 tickets hanging up to be made. Both guys had no sense of urgency. When my sandwich came out. One of the kitchen staff brought it to me. He apologize for it taking so long. Sandwich was great. Very tender beef. Great flavor. Never seen a manager touch tables. I saw what look like one of the chefs walking around in the lobby. He looked in twice then went in the family changing area. Place was clean. Merchandise stock well and organization. It was a very nice looking cafe. Needs attention on service. Again beef brisket sandwich was great. read more

DIAMOND CLUB This exclusive diamond status really is hyped up in the sales pitch. "We have things other clubs don't have blah blah blah". I think the Gold is just as good at Sugarloaf and Johns Creek, and is a much better price. $144 a month is insanely steep for a gym...but there is no Gold Lifetime Athletic by me, so i have to deal with it or drive at least 15 miles. You can downgrade later on if you think a Gold membership gym is better for you. The pools and yoga studio are what do it for me. POOLS INDOOR AND OUTDOOR I recently moved from sunny beachy CA so some water and sun at the club here helps me settle into Atlanta nicely. They are clean, lounge chairs are great to read/nap/tan/hang out in. The umbrellas are nice and high, thick enough to block June rain but lets sunlight through. Indoor pools are huge and have lanes for the adults. The kids also have an area that's fun with a mushroom fountain. YOGA I've only taken Slow Burn Yoga and it's quite good. Closing your eyes the whole time wasn't my thing though. I prefer to keep them open or else I get dizzy. All the classes are in some heat. They turn the temperature up and down according to the class. The room is large and very very nice. They have curtains you can draw to make the room darker, or brighter. The mats are starting to go bad, so they need to change them up....but most are the Gaiam sticky mats which are good. They have cork blocks and Peruvian blankets for extra help and support too. ZUMBA They rave about zumba and how they have the best instructors. I have yet to experience one that is up to par to the one I have at LA Fitness [Oscar C.] If you can get him to come to Lifetime here at Roswell, it would be awesome. The zumba clases here are still too slow and low in intensity for me, so this can be improved. Overall, it's a great place to hang out in the summertime. So after a year - the novelty is starting to wear off. The man sleeping on the exercise bikes has followed me from Concourse and has expanded his scope to include the mats on the exercise floor. Nothing like trying to bust out some sit ups next to a guy taking a nap! The cleanliness has taken a little bit of a dive. There are often hairballs blowing on the floors in the bathrooms, and mold in the showers (look up at the ceiling). I usually get there around 6am, so a little early for it to be from a busy day. This place tries to nickle and dime you every chance it gets. The music videos playing haven't been updated in a year and are now peppered with ads for stuff inside the club, as well as energy supplements and even toyota cars... I would much rather hear some music while lifting weights than an ad for a freakin' Camry. read more

Love this "diamond club" as they call it. The Sandy Springs aka "Atlanta" location is the "creme de la creme" when it comes to gym facilities in the Lifetime family. It's massive and exceptionally clean. The staff here is stellar and extremely courteous. They are on the ball when it comes to all of your needs and the instructors are some of the best I've experienced. It's conveniently located in the Targe/Five Seasons shopping center off of Roswell Rd. From Buckhead it's a quick 15 minute drive from Peachtree Rd- Piedmont to Roswell Rd. It's a beautiful club and once you've experienced the "diamond club" then every other LifeTime facility won't be as appealing. You'll never have to worry about towels because they are available everywhere. From the locker rooms to the cardio floor. Plenty are available. The pool area is as clean as you can imagine and want and their Yoga/Pilates studio is fantastic. Their Slow Burn Yoga classes on Sunday mornings are great and their Barbell strength training classes are the BEST. You will definitely feel the burn within 48 hours and it will last for days. It only proves that your muscles are being worked hard and makes you want to revist the class the following week. I went as a guest here and came with some pretty good impressions. I was able to do some cardio, a little weight lifting, a little basketball playing, some sauna, a couple of laps in the pool, and a round of the hot tub. This was all on a Saturday and the place was packed. However, there were no lines to any machine, or facility. The place was clean, with all of the amenities you would need. Your personal space was never invaded, and other's sweat was quickly repulsed by the plentiful towels. The exercise machines were plentiful as well. As for the water related exercise space, everything seemed to be clean and in a working condition. Overall, I was impressed by the gym. Imagine the Ritz Carlton cross bred with an athletic club for the 10 percenters cross bred with a super model convention. As soon as you walk in you're welcomed by a grand entrance and you feel like you've arrived in life. The staff is friendly and most of them look good. The locker rooms are luxurious and the equipment looks expensive and new no matter how many times it's used. The cafe actually offers wild caught salmon and vegan protein powder. When I found out lifetime was just a few miles from where I worked I was excited since I had put my membership on hold after moving out of Minnesota. This gym is the complete package - it's more like a country club with a great aquatics center and great cafe. The weight room is stacked with equipment and I haven't had to wait for a bench/squat rack EVER, and I come here during peak hours when it gets pretty crowded. I love the fact that the have separate deadlift platforms with round plates. There are tons of cardio machines, a great set of basketball courts and 2 indoor and 2 outdoor pools (maybe more, i haven't even explored the whole place yet) This place is also super well maintained, clean, the locker rooms, sauna, steam rooms are all amazing. The gym staff is knowledgeable and friendly and so are the gym's patrons !! If you are looking for a gym in Atlanta - come here. period. read more

Since I am a member now for 6 months I wanted to update a few things that I found out about Lifetime which I was kind of turned off by. Lifetime advertises a "Couple Membership" which I take as "Two People", I was thinking to add the GF but then was told the "Couple" requires a "marriage certificate" or "document where both names are on a mortgage" or "joint checking account" with both names on it. I am sorry but for a Gym, I am not going to provide those types of documents, its not like I am applying for a loan at a bank. It should be called a "Domestic Partner" membership but not Couple as it is very misleading. I am not will to pay full price for two memberships especially when it is someone that I pretty much advocated to go with me. Also I found out whenever you make changes to your "membership" they charge you some hefty fees. For example if you upgrade or downgrade your membership there is a $25 fee for that and a $10 service fee. The gym is still great but you are definitely paying for it with that in mind you should be as demanding with their services. read more

The gym does have a lot of goodies and is better then other local gyms, but this gym is not singles friendly. This is a gym setup for family memberships or couples to say the least. Another pitfall is that this gym does not offer basic memberships, its an all or nothing deal. For a young guy who is looking only to lift weights and do some cardio, we do not need to pay for extra perks such as free babysitting in the children's playhouse or access to the outdoor or golfing facilities. This gym is highly overpriced at 135$ a month. After being contacted by recruiters they agree to provide a discount to 125$ still way to overpriced. They need to change the program to accomodate more youth. read more

Fraud. Beware of corporate practices and cancellation policy before you consider joining this club. I cancelled my membership due to me moving to another state and they continued to charge my card for over a year. It was a battle to have bank put an end to the charges. I would place a stop payment thru my bank but they would go and charge my card under a different merchant account. Finally the manger at the location stepped up and verified that I had indeed moved to a different state and had cancelled membership. Please note that although I was being charged monthly I still had no access to club as they deactivated my pass before I moved. I continue to receive invitations to try out the gym but when I go I am humiliated and hounded to join that day or pay 40$. A guy named Kyle in the Atlanta branch was extremely rude to me. These guys are slim balls!!! Save yourself the headache!!! They are complete hounds once they have your information calling and sending out invitations to try out the club. We decided to join this club in January 2021 and were positively surprised with the easy and fast communication process to schedule a visit and, of course, the visit itself. Mark, the Sales Manager, was amazing! He answered all of our questions, walked us through all available options and is the reason why we're now members. This club has vastly improved in the past few months, primarily due to the addition of some new weight and cardio equipment. Also the day-to-day management and stocking of towels, toiletries, etc. is much smoother than it was at the beginning. New equipment includes eight brand new total body Cybex Arc Trainers--the ones I have been bitching for all this time. I joined Lifetime right after they opened. The facilities were impressive and my trainer was great. There equipment was always available and clean. But they just nickled and dimed me at every turn. Their corporate greed amazed me. Each year charges at the spa went up and dues increased. This in a period of 0% inflation in the country. They finally broke this camels back. I resigned and returned t9 Concourse which has great facilities and reasonable dues and charges for trainers and massage. (BTW the silly sign at the entrance announcing they were a gun-free zone was annoying. I always felt that was so gratuitous.) read more

First they will sell you on putting your account in hold for $37 and if you are dumb like me to pay them that amount for a year , it will go back to full membership of $149 To cancel , you must personally stop by the club ( you can't cancel by calling or email ) And to top it off there is a 30 day gap to cancellation of your membership = $298 read more

I joined this gym a few weeks ago. So far I am loving every minute of it. The place is cleaned non-stop. I workout at different times every day and I can always get in a full workout without dealing with people lollygagging and taking up exercise area. The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable as well. As a former trainer, I can tell they definitely enjoy their job and that makes the client/trainer dynamic much better long term. One piece of advice, the busiest time is mid morning to noonish on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday because of group fitness classes for the stay at home parents. Great gym! read more

I have been a Life Time member for over 10 years and have been going to this location for the past 2 years. It is more expensive than other Life Time locations because it is classified as a "Platinum" level location. I have found it to be worth the higher membership fee because it is extremely clean, older machines are constantly swapped out for newer machines, and the instructors are fantastic. read more

This review is for The Spa ONLY! I booked a massage appointment a few months back that I needed. As I checked in, the receptionist damn near assaulted me with her temperature gun! No warning. No social distancing! I put my arms and said "wrist only". No one lasers my temple with a scanner that has touched several other heads. She refused, said that's the only way to do it, that GA law requires it, and threatened to cancel my appointment if I didn't comply. I demanded proof of her claim, but was told to find it online. Nothing is noted on any state site, any CDC page to support her claim, listed on the gym website or signs in the Spa. I filed my complaint with the gym the same week, but have yet to receive a response. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! read more

It seems as if she takes out her own anger from her own life on customers, truly sad. If I lived here, this would be my gym. It was very spacious. There's a cafe in the front, which seemed to have the options of healthy eats and protein bars as well. There's a few courts as well for basketball, volleyball, etc. The locker room was spacious but busy. There were warm towels to use and it was very clean considering the amount of people that were in there. Upstairs, the amount of cardio equipment is more than enough for a small army. The weight machines are split up into categories, depending on the muscle group you are working. There's a lot of room in the free weight section as well. I saved the best for last. The hot tub and pool area. There are two huge hot tubs with fountains of water splashing into one side of each. That was great to get under for a nice back and neck massage. There's also a lap pool, and indoor pool for kids with two curly slides, and an outdoor pool with slides as well. This fitness center is definitely worth your money. read more

Upon recent visit to reactivate my membership I did not see any Covid precaution enforcement with members maskless at entry and ZERO members wearing masks...locker room, fitness floor and gym! I immediately requested an extension of the hold on my account. I was told by the member services manager to disregard any email. I did so only to discover a small and unexpected charge on my AMEX card. Three requests for charge removal and four unanswered contact attempts leads me to cancel my membership. I will buy a Peloton and Mirror and get my workout at home. Disappointed yet again in Lifetime. read more

After a pretty serious break up and seeking to start a new life with a kid in tow, I needed a gym that was kid friendly and that offered the training and support that I would need to get back on my feet while also providing a haven for my 4 year old son to come and play and learn while I got my personal fitness goals back in check. Ben Dubin, the general manager at the Sandy Springs location has provided me with service of a true professional and helped me get started with some of the best trainers Atlanta has to offer, working out on the best equipment money can buy. The staff that he has created up there promote such a positive and friendly non-judgmental atmosphere regardless of your level of development or your fitness needs and are capable of delivering an experience like no other. I know many of you look at the cost of membership at Lifetime compared with other gym memberships it seems kind of pricey, but let me point out the value of having a child care center that has learning & gaming programs and athletic activities, and a pool & spa for after workout play, the most amazing steam room, and the best part is the locker/shower room cleanliness (even clean towels and toiletries) that none of the others even come close to offering! Plus the staff here makes it much easier to recoup some of the expense by offering you so many promotional giveaways, sign up and referral rewards, and bonuses when you meet your fitness goals or compete in various programs & boot camps. Do not join! We have been members almost a year now and i have experience multiple times the worst customer service ever. They are wonderful at the beginning when they want you to join. They are so nice when they want to sell you more stuff - btw, a lot of things are extra, it feels like you are only paying to enter the facilities and use their locker rooms. Which leads me to my biggest concern. The primary use we've had is the pool and the swimming lessons for my 2 y/o daughter. They have a "Family locker room" to be use ONLY by parents with kids of the opposite sex. I'm tired of all the times that I've complained that there are adults without kids using that locker room. Most of them, male adults... common! we are talking about LITTLE KIDS SAFETY! One time, I even asked a guy who was alone in the family locker room: "Where is you kid?", the answer was "I don't speak English". I have sent emails, talked with management, etc and the answer is always we will follow up. Guess what happens... nothing, but ask me how many emails and calls we have received in the same period of time about selling us more stuff, at least 20. I was a member of Life Time in 2 other states, seems like the same is said for pooooor customer service and nickle and dimming people. I give the Life Time at Sandy Springs ONE Star because I went in there to potentially re-start my membership....they just took me to the desk to 're-start'. Then I asked why I wasn't able to get the price that I had when I last has my membership froze (which is the whole point of freezing a membership). They told me because this Life Time was "Athletic"...well this Life Time looked like a run down POS compared to the one in Vestavia in Birmingham. He didn't try to tell my why this LifeTime was better....basically just, "do you want to re-new your membership?" I said, no thanks. PEACE out! Windy Hill is WAY better, with the exception that they want you to do a one year contract (which is bull shit). read more

This gym is has everything you could possibly want and more. The instructors are amazing !! It's definitely worth the money ! Great variety of classes , beautiful pools that are well maintained, huge amount of cardio equipment and weights... the locker rooms are the absolute best...all you need to do is bring clothes because they supply everything else! read more
