Price is outrageous for a regular gym. There are a lot of amenities but the average person goes for something specific. Personally i enjoy the yoga classes so the price is pretty comparable to a yoga studio so that was the deciding factor to sign up for the membership. As with all gyms, ending your contract (even when time is up) is difficult. This seems to be a common trend with ALL gyms so I was prepared to be disappointed when that time was coming. read more

My boyfriend bought us the membership for our three years anniversary (agrrr) and I'm loving this gym! All the staffs are nice and friendly. The outdoor pool looks amazing with water slides which is family friendly. The equipments are very well arrange and up keep. I have not run into any broke ones and this place is clean! On June 17, 2021, one of the members was making me uncomfortable and I noticed he was taking pictures of me WITHOUT MY CONSENT, so I told a team member. I was then notified that they would get the supervisor involved. The supervisor came to talk to me and told me that they would confront the man downstairs to avoid making a scene. When I came back to check in with the supervisor, Trevor, all he said he could do was put a "mark" on his account, but was not concerned for MY safety AT ALL. He let the individual walk away and used the excuse that he did not want to get legal involved. He said that he would check the cameras but didn't even ask for my information to update me in regards to the situation. I had to go out of my way to ask for updates and ask for him to take my contact information. It has been FIVE days and Lifetime has done NOTHING about the situation. I NEVER received any update in regard to the situation, which just shows you how much they care about the safety of women in their own facility. After promptly informing the front desk, they assured me they would set them aside under my name. Despite this assurance, when we returned the following Wednesday, no one could locate our items. They claimed they DONATED THE ITEMS! Which is dubious as we had clearly stated our intention to pick them up. Now they close from 12-4 am. I pay $80+ a month and have to stay awake after work so I can workout at 4 am. I got off work early tonight and was able to squeeze a workout in the last hour. As we were all being kicked out, I see an employee walk thru in full attire and go to the yoga area. Only to come back out in his workout clothes. So a paying member isnt allowed to use the facility but if you work there without paying the due, can use the equipment at their leisure? Completely unacceptable. Something needs to change, either the hours or their staff has to abide by the same rules as the paying members. And I've seen this worker at the 4 am hour when I go so he is capable of waiting. read more

I have been a loyal customer to Sugar Land Lifetime fitness for so many years now. I have never had a problem with management until recently. A few days ago, on November 16th 2020, Ajju Hussain rudely interrupted my conversation I was having with a friend I haven't seen in a while. I was already 6 feet apart, and he asks me to put a mask on. I usually will comply and put my mask on, but the problem is, majority of the gym is not social distancing and wearing mask, in-fact a lot of the trainers don't even comply with the rule, so why am I being singled out? If you want to enforce something, make sure you have everyone do it, and do not just single me out. Ajju Hussain then asked for my membership card as I was walking away, and I did not give it to him. A few days later, on November 20th 2020, Ajju is working the front desk, and he notifies me that he has documented my account because I refused to listen to him. Today on November 22nd, I saw Ajju walk up the stairs, and I was stretching. I asked him very kindly "Do I need a mask on while I'm stretching" Ajju immediately started yelling at me, and even threatened me to terminate my membership all because I asked him a very serious and simple question. I am not okay with how I am being treated by Ajju. I have been a loyal customer to Lifetime for so many years, and I expect to be treated fairly. On a side note, I have seen Ajju walk upstairs without wearing a mask so many times. If Ajju wants to enforce mask on the members, make sure he is also putting one on as-well. read more

It's pricey for sure, but there is absolutely nothing lacking from this gym experience. We have the family membership and our kids part of the swim classes. The kids have always liked going to the kids play area while we work out. They even have yoga for kids and rock climbing. I've always been weird about germs, even pre-covid! Lol Workout areas and locker rooms are consistently cleaned throughout the day and I feel safe going in. You're basically paying for an all inclusive experience and it's worth it for us. read more

Went to the gym at 12am because I typically get off work late. Come to find out that they now close at 12am. Very disappointing. A member said go to Cinco Ranch they are open 24hr. Got there and they said all locations will be closing at 12am now. I've been a Member since they first opened and will now be closing my account. It was so relaxing to get to the gym when less people were there and can concentrate and relax....guess good things dont last. Also when going to the Cinco Ranch location I was told that my membership was not good enough for that location. These guys have lost touch with what makes people go to Lifetime. Instead of blowing money on new treadmills when they were only a year old and industrial strength and dumbbells that have only a slight amount of wear and tear on them. Save the money and leave the place open. If the excuse is about cleaning it makes no sense because there is a few people who go there during the night and have yet to see any mess. The truth is they probably under pay the staff and no one wants to work the graveyard shift. Again I guess good things dont last!!! read more

Update September 2015: I originally said that this location was lagging behind every other LT location I had visited in regard to updates and remodeling - and I wasn't sure if it was a corporate issue or due to this location's management. I now think it was the latter, because a few months ago a new GM took over and the improvements have been phenomenal!! Broken equipment is being repaired quickly, new equipment is soon to be installed, and there seems to be a concentrated effort to keep everything clean and in good order. I'm much happier about this being my regular gym now. - end update I used to think of Life Time as a somewhat upscale globo gym. And that's how I used it - I went regularly but I didn't have a clue what I was supposed to be doing to get the all the benefits. I thought I was in shape, but I was soooo wrong. Then I had some health issues that scared me into new ways of thinking. Years of eating the standard American diet, and leading the typical not-so-active lifestyle that is common today, I was in bad shape and getting worse. To try and counter all that and get healthy again I started going to Life Time every day. After a year of working by myself using the machines exclusively I had made some improvements in my health and fitness. But the more I improved the more I realized that there was so much more I should do. Being clueless, and stubborn, I tried to up my game and started trying to do some things I found on the internet. The first attempt at a push press was nearly a disaster haha. Luckily, I realized I was in way over my head and backed off before I injured myself. After some thought and research I decided to work with one of the trainers - and that was a life changing moment. If you're serious about being fit - you have to get a trainer. When you have the right navigator for this journey you're going to get where you want to go. Without that, it's hit or miss, and mostly miss I think. The Sugar Land location has some fantastic trainers who believe in what they do, have a passion for the work, and want to help people. Personal training aside, this location is the standard Life Time setup. Tons of different cardio machines, fitness machines, cable machines, free weights and a body weight workout area. There is a large outdoor pool area for play and serious swimming. Slides, kiddy wading pool area, plenty of chairs and tables and a snack bar open during the summer. There are two indoor pools, one for play and one for laps, two giant hot tubs, and a dry sauna. In each locker room there is a gender specific steam room. There are large locker rooms with showers, free lockers, and even hair dryers. The gymnasium area has two full size basketball courts, several racquetball courts, and a rock climbing area. There is also a full service spa and beauty salon where they cut and style hair, nails, massages and facials. Toss is the cafe where they do smoothies, fresh meals, and sell some nutrition products like protein. There are two studios for exercise, spin classes, etc., and a yoga studio and a pilates area. There is a long list of classes offered for everything. After visiting a few other Life Time locations, the things I don't like about the Sugar Land gym mostly centers around upgrades and remodeling. It seems like this place is last on the list for modernization and changes. You'll see new types of equipment and replacements go in other locations years before they make it here. I'm not sure if that is a corporate decision, or something the location manager controls, but it just doesn't feel right that I'm paying the same as other members at different locations and not getting all the benefits. Also, cleanliness is an issue here too often. I see the locker room staff working hard to keep things up in there, but some of the members are lazy and leave wet towels in the shower, or trash in the lockers. I think they don't have enough staff working to clean up after clients, and there are times it's not a good scene in there. It's a shame that people are slobs, but as much as the dues are here I expect the gym staff to keep the place clean and in order. As for Life Time in general, I really dislike that they have different levels of facilities. The names for them change regularly, and it's frustrating to travel somewhere and find that the nearest location is not one included in my membership because it's a "platinum" location, or one of the really cool athletic facilities. After packing on some pounds at all the splendid restaurants Houston has to offer, I finally decided to join a gym again. If I want to keep enjoying all the incredible grub this city has to offer, I'm going to have to start burning some more calories. I'm not a gym rat by any means, but so far I really like this place! There is a ton of cardio equipment and I've been at several different times during the day and the machine I wanted to use was always open. But I'm not really the 'get on a machine and stay in one place for an hour' kinda gal, so I decided to try some of the group fitness classes. They offer a lot of choices!! So far I've been to Zumba and Spin Class. Both instructors were upbeat and enjoyable. I was dripping wet by the time class was over and had a smile on my face. What??? An hour just went by?? No way!! The locker rooms, so far, have been sanitary and orderly. Always had hot water for my shower and never felt cramped next to a bunch of naked women (awkward) LOL. They even have changing rooms so if you're the modest type ... you know. So far I like this place. I have not felt pressured by any one for training sessions, etc. In fact, I only have had one call to check in on me and see if I had any questions so far. The employees greet me with a hello - have a nice workout. Hope it stays that way! read more

My friends would often joke that it's not a gym it's a country club. haha there's some truth to that. Ok let me give you the run down of the many things they offer! -A cafe (usually closes about 9 or 10pm) with DELCIOUS hot food and smoothies, etc. -A Beauty Parlor (mani/pedis, massages, cut & color etc.) -24 hour gym, Indoor Pool & Out Door Pool. Indoor Water Slides. 2 Steaming Hot Jicuzzis. A Sauna. -Inside of the renovated locker rooms you can find, a steam room, clean showers, a "living room" area with couch and Tv. Hair Dryers, Lockers that have keys (NO worries on bringing your own lock) -2 Basketball Courts, rock climbing, 4 raquet ball courts -Upstair 2 studios for classes and what not, Private yoga classrooms, EXSTENSIVE amount of equipment, Flat screen TV's where ever you turn. Amazing Personal Trainers On-site Daycare (during the day) and sooooo much more. So the membership is pricey compared to all the other gyms but if you want an Ultimate Experience this is your place. Quite simply...Lifeitime is the best gym in Sugarland. True, it's expensive...but in the end, you get what you pay for. True, you can get toned and in shape by working out anywhere...but why would you want to? The pool is clean. The hot tubs are drained and cleaned hourly. The equipment is new and state of the art...and for every one machine another gym has, Lifetime often has two or three, so it's never super busy. The treadmill choices are ridiculous...as are all the cardio machines. Basketball courts (plural), racquetball courts, and a rock wall are all available and add to the many benefits of the price of admission. For those that care for such things (like myself), a salon and food "station" are available as well. Yeah, I could work out for less somewhere else...but I'd simply rather not! read more

I'm looking for a new gym. I chose LTF because of the hours and amenities. I was able to get to the gym by 3a and do my full range of exercises. Opening an hour later greatly impacted my ability to complete my physical therapy exercises. I am a disabled veteran and I enjoyed being able to workout without people staring or taking pictures of me. Now, my workouts are cut in half and my rehabilitation progress has slowed. I was ok paying the high gym fees for 24 hour access, now, I can go LA Fitness or 24 Hour - have access to the same amenities and save much more money. Oh well ...! Such is life. read more

I made this account solely because I have had nothing but negative experiences here and I go to many other lifetimes in the Houston area and have had great experiences at the others. I am not new to the gym but if I was and this was the first gym I went to, it would absolutely kill my motivation to work out. The worst experiences that keep reoccurring to me is from a worker upstairs. The same worker on multiple occasions tells me fake rules and seems to be having a power trip. First time was when he told me I couldn't bench without a spotter if I'm lifting heavy and the second when He told me not to use a certain type of weight on the deadlift platform because "it couldn't handle it." When I told the employee that i go to other lifetimes and have never heard of this rule he snapped and said "You're at lifetime Sugar-land not wherever else." Absolutely ridiculous employee. Worst lifetime I have ever been to. read more

I wanted to do a review on this club after reading some of the reviews. First I'd like to say I've been going to gyms since 95 and and a lot has changed and for the good in my opinion. I've gone to the $10.00 clubs and the &150.00 clubs and everything between. Life time sugarland club 2020 is one of the cleanest and friendly locations I've been. As far as Covid precautions they do temperature checks at the door and require masks while walking through the club(not while working out). You can see employees wiping down equipment regularly and plenty of alcohol wipes throughout the club. Never have I felt unsafe in this club. I need to mention how un crowded this location is! I've been there different times of the day and never seen it to crowded to use any equipment. As I always say try it out yourself and make your own opinion. read more

This has been my family's gym since it opened. I think that was close to 10 years ago! This has been the gym I compare all other gyms to. It is clean, orderly, and offers a great variety of classes. It is a pretty big gym, so there never seems to be a shortage of ellipticals or treadmills. Sometimes you do not get the one you want, but you can alter your work out to do something else. A couple of times all the moving stairs have been taken, but again, as long as your flexible, it is not really a big deal. There are three pools, a lap pool, an indoor pool, and an outdoor pool. I used to use the lap pool daily and swim laps. A couple times all the lanes were taken, but usually that is not a problem. The locker rooms are always clean and orderly. I have never had a problem finding a shower or a blow dryer. I don't think the soap in the showers are extremely effective, so I would always bring my own. There is always a bunch of towels ready. I really like the variety of classes. I used to do Zumba and it was a hoot! Some of the classes get really crowded, so you'll want to pay attention to that. However, all the people participating are nice and even if you are a complete beginner you never feel out of place. There are racquet ball courts, but I think you need a more expensive membership for that. The basketball courts always seems pretty full, but I'm not a basketball person so that never bothered me. It is also nice that they have a childcare area. That doesn't affect me, since I don't have kids, but it means that there are no kids running around the gym! read more

She straight up told me I would need to come in and talk to some guy and that they would decide whether or not I was good enough to workout at their facility. Best gym around the Sugarland area - however, like other members mentioned, one of the nicest things this gym had to offer was the 24/7 availability. Sometimes my schedule is all over the place and it makes it difficult to make it to the gym at normal hours. Other than that, I have no complaints. Updated review. I've been a member here for a couple years now. If it were not for the Kid's Center, we would be long gone. For the price, if you utilize everything (pool, group classes, saunas, varied, weights, basketball, racquet ball and so on), you do get your money's worth. For our family, we use the weight area, cardio, Kid's Center and an occasional cafe visit. Being a veteran that served in a high capacity, I like rules, policy and maintaining the safety of the people around me. I have been labeled an a$$hole by the current GM and Sales Manager due to my stopping two under 12 kids from running through the weights area in wet swim trunks, no shoes and no shirts. This went on for almost 10 minutes before I stepped in. I found their mother and kindly let her know they were not allowed upstairs or to run through the facility like this... the mother was vile and rude to me. The Sales Manager initially sided with the mother, then changed that stance after destroying my training time. Later, he was derogatory towards me to fellow staff and members. The GM has joined him since I stopped and reported a safety violation. Contractors were using a circular saw, cutting floor pieces, within 24 inches of members working out. When I mentioned this to the GM, he brushed me off saying "we have insurance for that". I am highly skilled and educated in strength training...I would LOVE to br able to bring my oldest son (now 8 years old) into the weights area and work with him...but I follow the rules. Every day...EVERY day, I see children under 12 in the area and the staff does nothing. In addition, they removed high quality Hammer Strength equipment to replace it with a cheaper, lower quality brand...and raised prices for the 2nd time this year. The spin bikes are ALWAYS broken. You better test them out before spending time trying to get your settings adjusted and clipping in, most likely the cadence or watts censors will be broken! FOUR out of FIVE spin bikes sitting outside of the spin room for use were broken when I came a week ago, very frustrating! I have reported it to management on three separate occasions, its in one ear and out the other. They do not seem to care. The women's restroom out by the pool is always discussing and backed up, more than half of the time only one stall is working. Such a nice gym with a great group fitness schedule and clean facilities... but it's pricey! The least expensive membership here costs more than twice as much as LA Fitness' least expensive option... but I guess you get what you pay for. The cleanliness is great, the locker rooms are spacious and don't smell funny, and there are always fresh towels available. There's some limited childcare available too (for an additional monthly fee). My favorite classes were Leslie's yoga classes and Zumba with Mary. Check them out! When I went in to cancel my membership, they didn't give me too much trouble, which I appreciated. read more

Sure they're welcoming while they've got your money and access to your member fees. But when you want to cancel because you live half an hour one way and have found a gym home 5 minutes from your house, then they become hard core jerks. I went out there in-person to cancel because they said it was required. (Ok that's their first mistake. Way to treat your customers like a number and a raw piece of meat and not like the busy professionals and family heads they are). When I arrived, they instructed me to go take a seat in the lobby so an account executive could meet with me to discuss why I wanted to cancel. I don't need help making such a simple decision in my life and I certainly don't need to be hassled by a hard-sell to stay at a gym that is dramatically inconvenient for me to attend given my recent move placing me 15 miles further away than I was before. I was met with eye rolls and snide, under their breath remarks from the sales staff when I said I didn't want to have to go through a sales pitch and was told I had no choice and firmly reminded, "To be seated and wait!" I said I would wait right there. The sales staff showed how ridiculously unprofessional they truly are and how lacking this place is of the elitism it believes itself to exude. No, thank you. You exist because of your members. So treat your members with the respect and the consideration they deserve. They deserve better than to be manipulated by your people or hassled because they found a better deal. Those sales staff members probably won't even work there within a year. You know how turnover is with companies like this with a super competitive business model that pushes the professionals out and allows the slimy used car salesmen types to ascend the ladder. It doesn't help that I also recently learned that corporate is being sued by women for discrimination and gross inequities in pay. In a day and age where many successful businesses have shown that no matter what business they are in, if they're to be successful they realize their business IS the people that they're doing business with, Lifetime is showing that their success is self limiting and likely to be falling off more and more as boutique gyms like a orangetheory, CrossFit and F45 take more of the market share. If this club and Lifetime as a whole can figure out how to treat their customers like valued assets and not like a piece of cattle as well as treat their employees -of all genders- with equality, my guess is they may recover from their quarters of sliding off. If not, they'll soon become like the many gym chains that came (and went) before them. read more

This location is not military friendly at all. Extremely rude employees! The funny part is they have a parking space dedicated for Purple Heart recipients but once you actually talk to someone you quickly realize they aren't military friendly. I have been a member at that location for over 10 years before I joined the military. I rarely come home and when I do come home I like to workout. The fact that I could get a 3 day pass or even a one day pass to workout is ridiculous! Never again will I recommend this location to anyone. read more
