It is with great disappointment I'm writing this review. Our son attended summer camp at the Sugarland location. When I went to pick him up I asked him how his day was. He told be a boy named Clark tried to touch his food and when he wouldn't let him Clark hit him in the face. Obviously I was very upset to hear this and asked him if he told a camp instructor. He said yes but nothing happened. When I asked one of the summer camp instructors what happened he stated Clark has had several incidents already and they have spoken to his mother. I spoke to Buck the camp Director and expressed my frustration. Buck assured me Lifetime would handle this and the General Manager, Nik would be in contact. When I did not heard back from the GM or any representative of Lifetime I emailed Buck and asked when I should hear back. He said I would hear back from Nik today. It has now been a week and still no response from anyone of upper management. How is it possible that Lifetime allows anyone at their facility to be physically assaulted let alone a five year old child and still let the assailant be allowed to participate? Parents please please take caution when consider leaving your child for these summer camp activities. read more

The trainers are rude, the facility has gone down so much yet they charge premium prices. Cars are constantly broken down and no one cares. The gym is clean and the employees/trainers are top notch and I've been a member since 2016. However there is a change which you need to be aware of for 2024. If your Medicare plan pays for gym memberships, Lifetime will continue to get that money from your Medicare Insurance provider however unless you pay out of pocket to Lifetime 80.00 per month, you will be restricted to only work out Mon - Fri 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.. This in my opinion seems to be age discrimination. My other concern is during COVID many of us on Medicare didn't suspend our membership while some non-medicare members did. If Lifetime wants to incorporate this restriction there should be a grandfather clause for those of us with a current membership and they should appreciate and reward our loyalty which now appears to be lost in this Lifetime Financial decision. Many of us on Medicare are on a fixed income and 960.00 a year is more than some of us can afford. So now we'll be forced to seek out other gyms which may not be as conveniently located. I wonder if the decision is to force out those of us on Medicare. Even though this change doesn't go into effect until 1/1/2024 I've heard that if I don't sign up for the additional 80.00 charge by 10/31/2023 it goes up to 100.00 per month. This just seems ridiculous and is why I am probably going to Fitness Connection in 1/1/2024. read more

If I could give them a zero star rating I would. I was a member for a short time but cancelled as soon as I could because of the high crime within their facilities! So many people have always been complaining about locker break ins! I don't know about you but I do NOT want to work out to come back and find all of my stuff missing! This is such a ridiculous issue for a gym to have and not address. I have witnessed workers blatantly ignore a member when they were distraught over their stolen items. Offering towels to guests does not make up for thousands of dollars of stolen items! read more

*Head way up in the clouds for Lifetime* I was a lifetime member for 6 years and thought about coming back. But I think Lifetime has become too good for its past customers. They were quoting me monthly $75 (1 yr contract) to $85 (no contract) --- (excluding taxes I am assuming) with $40 down. I told them i would be more than happy to come back at my old contract but their staff was arrogant enough to tell me how noone in the club could do that. It's kool no issue, I have read enough google and yelp reviews to know I am not missing anything. Plenty of more gyms to explore...but really disappointed to see Lifetime change its ways for the worse as far as client relations go. read more

PLEASE GIVE MR. NIK A RAISE it was late at night & I forgot where my locker was but I thought I remembered the area it was in. So I went to the towel section & found an employee by the name of NIK there and asked him if he can help locate my locker. He greeted me nicely and followed me to the locker room in order to retrieve my belongings. unfortunately every locker I told him about was wrong / empty or had other peoples stuff. He opened all the left side lockers from every sections because I told him I didn't remember what section it was, but was one of the left lockers. after all that work we couldn't find it and Mr. Nik saw that i was getting worried and anxious due to all my belongings/ cards / license / car keys and other important stuff in locker. So he decided to go above and beyond and started to open EVERY LOCKER center and right side till he found my locker. He then came to me and told me I believe I have found your locker and took me to it. That made my night and my day went from bad to great because I was convinced my stuff was gone. what an amazing employee read more

This is the most expensive gym in Sugar Land. In exchange for that, the guy's locker rooms consist of broken showers with little to no water pressure, broken shower faucets and unclean floors. The open area for stretching or doing individual workouts will be full of "group training" by the staff so that the club can generate additional revenue rather than permit its members to have full use of the gym. The kids club area usually consists of 1 person watching 25 or more kids. My daughter won't go because they lock the bathrooms and my daughter can never find the employee to unlock the bathroom door. The general manager is rude and one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. Join a different gym! read more

I am writing to shed light on a very serious situation that is occurring in your Sugar Land LifeTime Gym.  On Feb 11th 2019, I was a victim of theft in your gym facility and substantial amount of money was stolen from my locker. The underlying issue is that after speaking the local police(detective) and also your general manager this has been occurring for some time. They have also caught one of criminals just last week and apparently is still continuing. I'm fairly upset that as a long time and committed member myself and all of the members should have been sent an email/letter regarding the recent thefts. If given a slight bit of an idea I would never had taken money with me. Ironically same night my brother in law took his wallet and his money was stolen had I spoke to him I would have told him. It's already horrible that cars get broken several times into now this? As being known as a elite and expensive gym in Sugarland. I'm very disappointed in this matter, and I don't want this to be taken lightly as from what I gathered from your employees/ management seem to make of it. I don't want to social media shame you either or take this to civil courts. The general manger didn't even compensate me in any way. My friends and I have had more incidents here in lifetime than even living here in Houston read more

Basketball courts are really dirty. They don't even clean the courts. Dirty court which makes it look bad. Also, the gym isn't open 24/7 anymore so you can't go at night and workout when its empty upstairs. Workout area upstairs is always packed and can barely get on the machines throughout the day read more

I'm officially done with Life Time. I'm done with being nickled and dimed to death and constantly being nagged to buy something else from them. This is already one of the most expensive gyms in town. When you first join, at your orientation appointment, they don't show you the machines... they sell you breathing test to find your optimal heart rate (I think I paid about $150). They sell you an overpriced heart rate monitor (hint: it's way cheaper at Academy or REI). Oh, you want to learn the equipment? You can hire a trainer by the hour. Interested in pilates? That's extra. I blew $500 on their Team Weight Loss program where the nutritional program was suspect (lots of pressure to buy their brand of vitamins) and there was a constant drumbeat to buy buy, buy more stuff from them. Heck, while you work out, their in-house TV system plays a constant stream of commercials. The towel service is nice. The lockers are nice. The place is huge. But I realized that I wasn't using most of the amenities, and I was avoiding working out because I didn't want to deal with trainers coming up to me and trying to sell me something. I want to go, get my sweat on, and get out. I found a gym that was closer to home and cheaper, and they leave me alone when I come in. That works for me. If you've got money to burn, or if the gym is your social scene, you'll probably love this place. But once I saw through the veneer and figured out that the only thing I was losing at Life Time was money, I left. read more

Ok after a few months there i have to say that i am not as excited as before.. First and foremost, the staff is not nearly as friendly as they should be. Most of the staff are very young and some are actually not very knowledgeable. Towel service is nice but my wife told me that the women locker room sometimes is just hideous as it is littered with wet towels and women hair were just everywhere. I had to contact management to get this resolved. Also, there has been an epidemic of stolen locker keys, and guess what the victim not only had to deal with the embarrassment of a lost key but also had to fork over $40 for the them to open the locker! I am going to cancel the membership when i get a chance before the next billing cycle! read more

Typical mega-gym that doesn't value their customers...... Yesterday, I went to try out the gym. Here was my experience: I call at noon to check what the gym was open until. The receptionist tells me 3pm. I head over to the gym and arrive at 1:55pm to a very crowded parking lot. I walk up to the door at exactly 2pm to be told that they are NOT allowing any one to enter after 2pm. WTF...... We tell the employee at the door that we were JUST told the gym closes at 3pm and was not told about doors shutting at 2pm.... The employee at the door was rude and not sympathetic, especially considering that we showed our phone to him and it was 2PM EXACTLY. He had a rude attitude and was very short. This type of BS is exactly what you'll get from a gym like this; management and employees that do NOT value the customer or their time. And would send away a dozen or of their clients that come in BEFORE the advertised close time. MESSAGE FOR MANAGEMENT: If you wanted the club to be completely empty by 3PM. Simply advertise a closing time of 2PM. Don't send away clients because you're too dumb and lazy to figure out a better way to shut down a gym. read more

Since the pandemic, their attitude, as well as quality both, has been deteriorated. Simultaneously fees have been skyrocketed. You will see a lot of people roaming around in black suits and T-shirts (staff) - not sure what they do. For example, wifi is not working for the last 2 weeks in the treadmill area. It was never smooth in the muscle toning machine area anyway. I complained at the front desk. Both times staff pretended like they don't know. Always answer is: 'we will let our engineer know'. Not sure where those engineers are outsourced. Even a high schooler can fix it in 2 weeks. Shower areas are dirtier than before. Suana many times doesn't work properly. Not worth of money. I feel sad as I am going to this gym for years. Not sure what happened. read more

This place has really gone down hill. On top of it being packed all the time, at the start of my workout I saw a huge cockroach scurry out of a crack near the free weights only for someone with an ankle monitor to throw a ten pound weight at it. I then had to finish my hour long workout near a cockroach with its guts all over the floor. read more

The facility is impressive that is certain- indoor and outdoor pool, ok childcare, locker room seems very clean. The two stars is the ambiance- very snobby feel, not necessarily from the other members, but from the staff! Even the membership agent was putting on airs as if he owned the place. Price is on the higher end esp if you only go 2-3 times a week. They charge extra for each child- not a selling point if they want to attract families. There are YMCAs nearby that would be worth checking out as an alternative that aren't that much cheaper, but the ambiance is a little more welcoming. read more

Everything about Life Time Fitness made me happy. The multi-level gym is super expansive and if you're a runner, you can rest assured that you may never have a wait for a treadmill; there must be at least a hundred. Similarly, the cardio area is well-oiled and plenty; everything you could ever hope for from elliptical to step machine. The weights area is well organized, separating arms from legs to chest and abs. Truly, it's a serious body builder's dream. Multiple studios keep the classes coming and while I didn't check any out, there seems to be a robust schedule. The free-standing pilates equipment caught my eye and while this may not be super kosher, I jumped on a reformer without the hand of a trainer (and outside of a led class setting). There's also a basketball court, a dry sauna, a cafe and even a salon. Life Time proves, everything's bigger (and better?) in Texas. read more

For this to be in sugarland it's just ok. I don't understand why we have the lower level lifetime!?? The locker room is clean which is a big selling point for me. I don't feel scared to take a shower! I appreciate the towel service. There is always plenty of equipment available even at peak hours. The temp however...it's either hot or freezing. It's not just comfortable for a workout. The cafe is grossly overpriced for what they offer. Training services are ok. Overall I like Lifetime it's just so pricey. For what I'm not sure. It's a gold lifetime gym which on their rating scale is the lowest level. Not worth the $70/month price! read more

First time to there and scheduled a free trial and wanna have a try. Had an appointment at 7pm, I came in , the manger who supposed to be there to meet us said, give me just 10 minutes. Okay, we sit there and 45 minutes later, he still did not show up Until we went to the front desk and ask for that manager. He did not seem to tour us around here and just took us to his office asking, what is your issue ? The place is good, facility is good, swimming pool seems good, but the service sucks. I think we supposed to have a free trial like it is said on the website, this manager just ask us for membership fees with an attitude like ........ Easily the worst Life Time gym in Texas. "Life Time Athletic" raises their rates across the board and, for the most part, have not increased their value. Unfortunately, it's "better" than most gyms in the area due to accessibility. From the robberies, misleading hours, and staff's inability to maintain a standard of cleanliness, save your $100/month, go to another gym where the value represents the pricing and pass on this specific LTF. read more

Compared to all the other Lifetime facilities in the Houston area, this lifetime definitely needs to step it up. I've had my share and time at all the other locations, but this one has to be the worst. First off, the service here definitely sucks. All the employees that I've encountered over at the other locations are super nice and very well mannered when approaching members but not here. Here the employees are rude and unhelpful. No one is really walking around regulating or doing their job. Secondly, the amenities that are offered to you when you sign up as a member aren't really fulfilled at this location. For example, the eucalyptus steam room. This steam room is just a regular steam room, no menthol/minty steam at all. Disappointment. Another thing that I must address is that the spa has been under maintenance for awhile. I understand if there are complications sometimes, but seriously, get on it. The equipment in the work out room have missing parts and the free weights are never put back where they belong. -side note: they actually charge you $3 for a temporary locker card, member or not. Ridiculous. Lastly, this gym is always packed. No matter what time of the day it is, this gym is overpopulated with people. Towels are thrown on the floor and left there and very little machines are open and available for use. At lifetime in my opinion, you get what you pay for and this location is not meeting the standards. read more

The equipment is top of the line and in good shape. There's never much of a crowd as gyms go, but I'm an exercise late and at weird times kinda guy. Much of my complaints surround the fact that the back office stuff can be very difficult to deal with. I have needed to adjust my membership status for some time and the only way to do it is to come in during certain hours and talk to one of their people. I have tried to get their at the right time but then no one was available. It's more than a little annoying, particularly since it's a minor change as things go. I thought of canceling and that's even harder than just trying to make my little change. Like I said, on the whole, nice place but like "Hotel California," you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. read more

Over-hyped. Overpriced. Management and staff rotate often and the quality goes up a little with each change and then down, down, down. Trainers focus on pump you up and hard exertion, not helping you at an individual level unless you spend $$$$. If you spend the $ you find these professionals have minimal qualifications. I found this out with my LT testing, dietician, triathlon trainer that knew nothing, underline nothing, about biomechanics for cycling and running. No wonder their famous trainers do not do well in competition. The coup de tat was reading an email stating no pics in the locker rooms and seeing one of the illustrious trainers repeated take selfies of herself in the locker room while scantily clad and in full make-up day after day. A solid gym with very good amenities. There recent upgrades to the gym's locker rooms and showers are very aesthetically pleasing and clean to look out. All sorts of free weights, benches, and equipment available in droves. The only complaints would be how busy it gets during after-work hours and the individual pricing but honestly, you get what you pay for. It's a good gym. read more

I hate working out. With a passion. With that being said, lifetime really makes working out a LOT more tolerable for me. Everyone seems to mind their own business here, know gym etiquitte, and usually no one spectates, staring at people working out. Probably because people pay a whole lot of money just to be able to work out-- I'm talking $50-$60 a month just to work out in peace. But luckily for me, I'm on a family plan so I only have to pay $30 a month :) There are occasionally those people that'll go up to you and start talking to you about your workouts and whatnot, but for now, I'll take it as people being friendly at the gym and wanting to get to know people rather than creeping up on you. The abundance of gym equipment is well kept and clean, so that's a huge plus for me. I love how lifetime supplies you with towels and lockers and HAIRDRYERS! Their lockers are like a freaking hotel lobby, it's beautiful. In fact, the whole gym actually looks luxurious. Even their cafe and swimming pools. That's right, it's plural. They've got like two hot tubs, indoor pools and outdoor pools each, and water slides! And their cafe has some really good food. I recommend the pizza with the chicken and sun dried tomatoes. It's so good, yet it's fresh and healthy. I feel so good eating there whenever I can ($9 is pretty pricey for a small pizza). It's just absolutely amazing. I wish lifetime would build more gyms though, preferably one close to my house instead of having to drive all the way to Sugarland... If I didn't have to work, I think I would spend my whole day here doing a little bit of everything: lift weights, do cardio, swim, soak up some sun, chill in the hot tub and sauna, shower, and eat a yummy meal in the cafe. There's not enough parking at this location, especially when the Zumba class is going on and the basketball courts are running full court (with next up, and next, next). Last August there was a smaller amount of traffic, and it didn't feel like a mosh pit. Right now though, I think everyone's getting ready for summer so I imagine it will mellow out in the fall. But you really need to wipe down the equipment since it's an assembly line of bro's constantly using it over 8-16 hours. It's well maintained though. I don't mind the men's locker room...BUT... sometimes during NBA playoffs the towels are EVERYWHERE but in the basket...ha-ha get it?? They can't wash them fast enough and you'll want to bring your own. Pool's great - I got my tan on, and a little more. ----- The morning is really the right time to work out and get freshened up, since there's no way to leave without serious microbial risk during the evening when it's a mosh pit. It's OK for kids - they supervise them very well. read more

Positives: I really like this Lifetime Fitness. The dues for my fiance and I come out to about $130 a month. We got a discount for signing up as a couple. Joining was a seemless process. I like that they have a deli, 2 indoor swimming pools, and an outdoor pool with a water slide. They have a steam room and a sauna in the same area as the indoor pools. They have 4 or 6 basketball courts, 4 raquet ball courts, and rock wall which is open most days of the week. There is one day the rock wall is not open. They also have a salon where you can get a facial, hair cut, or a personal massage. The group fitness Total Conditioning class is amazing, and ever since Scott started teaching the classes are super intense. He is a new instructor, and I highly recommend him. Tracy is the group fitness manager, and she is very knowledgeable about all the classes Lifetime offers. She also loves to hear about suggestions from Lifetime members about the types of classes they would enjoy if they are not already offered. The Yoga classes have very good instructors, and one of yoga classes is Vinyassa style yoga. They also practice balance postures every class which is always fun. The equipment is all new, and very clean. They always have a person who goes around re-racking weights for the people who forget to do it. There a more than 25 treadmills, and one will always be available every time you go to the gym. Negatives: There is not much lighting in the parking lot during the night so just drive slow, and you will be safe. The Lifetime location on highway 6 is not ideal because there is always so much traffic in the evening. If you take University Blvd to Highway 6 it will save you a little bit of time traveling to Lifetime. One more recommendation is for yoga to be offered earlier in the evening instead of at 8:15PM - 9:15PM. I would be more willing to go to yoga on the days I have to work if they offered a class at 6:00PM or 7:00PM. Overall Recommendation: I think the price for a membership is worth all the ammenities that Lifetime offers, and you should give Lifetime a try through a trial membership or by going with a friend who has one. Been a member since 2014. This gym is pricey, I would recommend any student to switch to their student-flex membership. They have new equipment, but they did take away a few ab machines. Around 6-8PM you'll see everyone in Sugar Land here, it gets P-A-C-K-E-D around those hours. I love the free classes that they provide for their members. There is a LT app that lets you know what time certain classes start, which is a plus. I love their sauna & steam room, I wish I can take it home with me! Overall great gym. This gym has gotten way shittier in the past couple of months- the wifi no longer works if you come in anytime the gym is even remotely busy (it works perfectly when you come in late night and the gym is deserted except for 5 or 6 people)- i would consider wifi to be an essential in terms of a gym due to the large number of people who use their phones to entertain themselves while they work out, Im surprised that in 2014, a supposedly nice gym like this one can't get one that will support a moderate number of people. Also they close the mirrored exercise studios by evening so if you come around that time you get to do your stretches on a random corner theyve set aside some mats on. Theres no mirrors there so you'll have to guess if your form is correct, oh and the space is only about the size of two pool tables (thats right- for about 200 or so of the guests) so if the gym is remotely busy you'll have to wait your turn- and dont even think about personal space, everyone is crowded in there like prisoners in a jail cell. read more

I am a long time member of Life Time, and used to really like it. However, they are not enforcing their own rules of COVID. The majority of people that i see working out don't bother wearing a mask at all in the workout areas. Basically, they put a mask on to enter, and then take it off all together once they are in (contrary to the rules that Life Time has to wear masks at all times when walking around the gym areas). If you are concerned about COVID, I would definitely stay away. read more

This Lifetime Gym is the only Lifetime I've ever been to, but I'm impressed. Downstairs there is a 5 lane indoor swimming pool that's half of Olympic size if I remember correctly. Also an indoor and outdoor casual pool and slide. Also a Sauna. Also a steam room located inside the dressing area. There are 2 very nice basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, and some racketball rooms. There are couches and LCD TVS located in the dressing room and near the entrance. Also a salon and a cafe. I tried the cheese pizza and BLT and they were both really good. Upstairs there are plenty of workout machines and equipment, you will definitely find something useful. It also hosts 2 studio rooms where you can join their free various classes any time they are scheduled. Many TVs for people doing workouts on treadmills or bicycles, ect. Also plenty of personal trainers will be there at certain times of the day and they are helpful, but im assuming they charge more than other places for private 1 on 1 sessions. The only thing I personally wished this gym had would be a few punching bags. I heard from a trainer they used to have those, until some dickhead threw them against the mirror and broke it. Then they took them away. This gym is always packed with people hanging around or working out. You will feel comfortable and motivated to work out just by the atmosphere. Nice inviting place and real luxurious. Also it's more expensive compared to other gyms, but of course no other gym compares to the quality of Lifetime, at least not anything from this town. I like this place, yeah, a full service fitness center that offers rock climbing,state of the art equipment, professional personal trainers, a full service juice bar that offers sandwiches a huge water park oh and a hair salon? This is definitely a family oriented gym, the kids clubs is just awesome, more than just a drop off center for kids not to bore themselves into oblivion. The parking lot is huge however but I still have problems jumping on a treadmill during peak times, but I guess that's why they call it peak times. What kills me about this place is that it is extremely pricey and close to impossible to cancel your month to month membership. Other than that its a ritzy gym so expect ritzy attitudes when you come to Lifetime, it's the gym sells itself attitude. Don't buy into that hype, just make sure they offer the amenities that will benefit your workout regiment. read more

Signed up, quick service and fast sign up. Very clean and up to date on equipment. So far, this has been a great gym to go to. Single membership is roughly about $65 per month, not too bad, given a run to starbucks will cost you $4, monthly is $120...so do the math. Keep up the good work. read more
