As I've got older, I've been more intentional about where and with whom I chose to do bodywork with. I love that this wellness center is Black owned. It played a big role in my opting to come here for my first acupuncture experience. Before scheduling I reached out via email with a question. I was surprised how quick they responded, especially since I reached out during the holiday season. I appreciate being able to read up on their team prior to booking an appointment. The day of my appointment I was greeted as soon as I got in. While checking in I was able to browse the front space which is a storefront selling bags, decor, homeopathic remedies, incense and jewelry. I was then escorted to the back waiting room until my appointment started. The space is beautiful and I LOVE all the African decor. Anthony my acupuncturist was very thorough with my assessment prior to starting the treatment. It was not painful at all and I appreciate his constant communication throughout the treatment. After my appointment, I was invited back to the waiting area and given a delicious anti-inflammatory tea to drink while I sat and decompressed. I was also able to take a peak outside to look at their outdoor space and the koi fish. I'm so grateful I found this place and will most definitely be back! read more

I am in love with this place. Came here a couple of times in Nov 2020 for a massage. Ambiance: Smells like a greenhouse with a touch of tea tree oil somewhere. A few nice plants and plenty of smiling faces. The vibe here is refreshing. Cleanliness: The bathroom is very clean. I can tell that they check on it through out the day. The hand soap feels expensive and nourishing. This place is all about the details. Earthy vibes. Everyone wore a mask constantly and properly. The massage room was clear, small, and clean. Floors were so clean that they can be walked on barefoot in the massage room. Service: I did a 30 minute focused massage with Amanda and another time I did it with Ade. Both very good, however Amanda really felt in tune with my pressure points. She gave just the right amount of pressure and always found my needy spots. She read me like a book. Go with Ade if you are "husky" and can take a strong massage. Go with Amanda if you are slim/slender/boney and need a specific spot worked out or if you like neck/shoulder/cervical areas worked out. Cons: There are no prices on the products out front. Recommended for Yoga Heads! Loved how they guide you through breathing throughout the massage. This place is different and I love it. read more

Best massage I've had in ages! I had a 70 min deep tissue massage with cupping today with Ade, my body was so tight from this year of stress and a number of cervical and lumbar spine injuries over the years. I'm a nurse, so by legs, feet and lower back hurt all the time. Ade worked out all my knots and tension, he does these amazing stretches that loosened up my hips. I will definitely be back regularly. The space is lovely, they sell herbs, flowers, incense, etc. I got some arnica, sage and some all natural menthol pain patches that I love. There's a pretty little garden in the back. The staff were all friendly, attentive and very professional. They do acupuncture as well, I may add that on next time. read more

Not only does Life Wellness boast a cute little apothecary up front, with essential oils, crystals, teas and tinctures, but there's also a beautiful deck out back where Khadija hosts a variety of events including yoga classes, meditation sessions, and even a holiday market. But the real gem here is the skillful bodywork and the *kindness* with which it is administered. Khadija's massages are literally magical. I came in today 4/21/18 for a cupping session and massage, it was my first time trying cupping. Immediately I was warmly welcomed and provided ginger turmeric tea. This place is very comfortable and welcoming. Khadija was my masseuse and she took the time to understand where my ailments were and what I hoped to get out of this. The cupping thing was a little freaky to me having not done it before! My pain is in my right shoulder and she did a great job working out the kinks in that spot as well as the rest of my body, the every part of you body is having conversations with the others! I visited the life wellness center on September 13, suffering from a massive muscle spasm in My Right Shoulder that was extremely painful. And was on my way to the ER.. cause I was suffering from severe pain for like Five days with no ending in sight.. when I decided To go another route and try a alternative treatment to modern medicine. so I schedule an appointment to see Mr. Ade' He sat me down and went through all my concerns about the pain that I was having in my shoulders and recommended a treatment plan for my specific situation and then proceeded To do what he does best.. He started a strong and vigorous massage To the affected area, my god the pain was Almost unbearable , as he went straight to the troubled area but assured me that everything would be alright in Which it was he took his Time and found the source of the pain massage it.. and cupped the the troubled area Of my shoulder followed by additional massages and ending with a 5%menthol patch To the affected area then I was sent home for Recovery... I'm so sorry to say I've not had a chance to experience the massages here but I really wish the website would provide the price list for services. While I have no doubt, based on the reviews, that you can get a wonderful massage here - I'm just not sure about the $160 price tag on a 50 min massage in this neighborhood, or any other in BK. I just wish that I didn't have to take the time to go through the entire booking before the pricing was revealed - would appreciate a bit more transparency, especially on the website where the pricing never appeared even after booking the appt. read more

I'm new to Bed Stuy but this place is exactly why I moved here in the first place. The energy and people are amazing. Khadijah is a gift from God and the space really reflects her sincere and warm spirit. I don't usually linger and chit chat at places of business Bc I'm almost always in a rush but somehow I do here bc Khadijah made me feel right at home from the beginning. I come to the yoga class on Friday's which is donation based but phenomenal. I prepaid for a massage also bc I've heard such good things about it. Beautiful, calming space with excellent therapists, particularly Ade and Bianca. Owner Khadija is a lovely, warm soul. Their walk-in Wednesdays are a lifesaver, with $20 *professional* (read: not nail salon) chair massages. My only issue is with one of the staff--the shorter woman who wears the hair wrap. One gets the feeling, when interacting with her, that her entire existence is being inconvenienced. Her terse mumbles make her a poor choice for a front-end face of this otherwise fantastic community center. read more
