Nice location with realistic fleet of power boats all size to practice docking and maneuvering…read more Chapman's is a proven classic school, highly recommend for new boaters. Invest the time and $ and take a private docking clinic with one of their experienced Captains.

The program I attended ran Dec 2 through Dec 12! Unfortunately, the classroom experience was not what I expected from a professional maritime training school. The instructor typically lectured for about one hour, and students were then left to self-study for most of the remaining five to six hours of the day, occasionally watching a video. Much of the course time involved independent learning rather than structured instruction. A TOTAL WASTE of time for a school that DEMANDS 100% In person attendance! To have to sit and self teach for 5 hours! While there it is important to note that each and every student IN THE CLASS during class time was using US CAPTAIN'S training You Tube Channel to learn what we paid this school to us.. The course materials also made studying more difficult than necessary. The binders were printed entirely in black and white, which made learning the Rules of the Road challenging because the diagrams normally rely on red and green navigation light distinctions. Flashcards offered for purchase also contained some incorrect information, which created confusion. The Movies were about 10 plus years OLD as well! I also experienced issues with administrative policies that are not as advertised . I had dealings with Annie who seems very defensive and has very little business acumen, I canceled an STCW Basic Training class more than 30 days in advance, but was told my tuition would be refunded but not the deposit, so I asked If It would be able to transfer it to my CPR class. NOPE not allowed! No other explanation! See they are very good at taking the money but poor on service and DIALOGUE! I feel it is important to address some of the conduct I personally witnessed and recorded! I observed the instructor sharing what appeared to be his personal prescription medication with a student for her headache. I also witnessed him returning from lunch significantly later than the scheduled time due to handling his mother's banking matters. In addition, a considerable amount of classroom time was spent telling stories about drinking at a local bar with other students, often accompanied by profanity. None of this behavior felt professional or appropriate for a structured training environment. Much of this activity was observed directly, and portions of it were recorded. The larger issue is the overall quality and accuracy of the course materials and instruction. For example, the Rules of the Road book provided to students was dated 2024, and the flashcards that were sold separately contained inaccurate information. Students in the class discovered several of these errors while studying and memorizing the material. This is deeply concerning in a program intended to prepare mariners for Coast Guard examinations, where accuracy is critical. If the school believes it is appropriate to continue teaching Rules of the Road from a 2024 edition when a newer and updated version is already av I had hoped this school would be a convenient option since it is close to my home, but based on my experience I would recommend looking at other programs if you are seeking a structured classroom learning environment. THIS PLACE IS NOT THAT... it's OLD and outdated! And as the staff! The staff is defensive, the instructor "Tom" has apparently been there a very long time and will not be engaging in any extra effort for those who need a slower paced learning experience! He did enjoy leaving the class to learn in their own for many hours which allows him to sit with his phone for several hours, not teaching! I would say it was not a professional presentation, nor was the stories about being in a bar etc! I was taking this Captains license for my own personal satisfaction and found two other schools that are absolutely WONDERFUL! As Much as I had wished otherwise this school is an absolute joke! I would highly recommend if you are thinking of this school, do what I WISH I HAD DONE IN ADVANCE! sit in and Audit a class, you will see all that you need to know! The Instructor does not have the heart of a teacher, teaching the same material for years seems to have left bored him and left him uninspired to teach others! It was there to absorb the information and pass the test NOT just scrape by with the INFERIOR experience that was offered! I would say the measure of success would be out of the 8/9 of my fellow class mates 3 passed tag 4 tests on test day. So based on the quality of the instruction LESS than 1/2 of the students actually passed the All if the REQUIRED tests 6 days after the course was completed. That speaks volumes! Regards, A former student of the Charles Chapman School of Seamanship

I originally was very excited about them delivering my baby, I signed up with only 1 month to go! Had 2 in checkups at the center and 2 home visits... All but one center check up was all with Tammy. When it came time to labor I was checked for dilation at 11a in the morning by Tammy after having my water break at 8p the night before. Tammy said I hadn't dilated and wasn't having contractions so she gave me a medication to begin contractions and was told the she would come back at 3:30p to check again. Contractions began at 11:30a (30 mins after Tammy left) and were coming fast, strong and consistent by 3p and my sister had taken my phone by this time and was in contact with Tammy who said she was on the way... no one arrived until 6:30p and who did arrive was a midwife named Erica (I had never laid eyes on this woman before that moment). Erica checks me and still no dilation, she waits an hr & checks me again same... Erica says at 8p that we must transfer to hospital because my water has been broken for 24hrs and there's no progress. I am then transferred to Cleveland clinic. Erica contacts me once the following day to ask the birth stats (weight/height). I have attempted to contact Tammy every week for 2 months. Bethany is the only one who would take my call or even speak to me past the delivery of my baby. I've called, left messages with staff, and even emailed. I've done all but go up to the center and sit and wait for a conversation. Obviously that isn't happy with a newborn. I was very dissatisfied and upset that I didn't receive the care that was promised in my consultation. No postnatal visits/check-ups, just absolute silence. So I personally do not recommend this birthing center. It's really sad because the reviews and Tammy are what sold me on the facility.

Parents looking for a local driving school, heads up to avoid Treasure Coast Driving School. We had…read morea horrible experience and I don't recommend them. Save your money! We signed our child up for driving lessons with the Treasure Coast Driving School in February. We paid for 8 hours of driving lessons plus the driving test, costing approximately $800. After signing up online, I had to reach back out via email to find out when the driver would contact us so we could schedule the lessons (it had been nearly a week with no followup). Once the driver reached out, it was easy to schedule lessons with him, although it seemed like he was really only available on Saturdays. That was fine. My child told us that the driver was always on his cell phone, answering calls or texting, and one time even missing their turn because he was on his phone. I only got feedback on the lessons after the first lesson. After the following lessons, the driver left before I could talk to him to see how the lesson went. In April, I scheduled the driving test by calling the office. The lady who answered was extremely helpful and gave me several options before scheduling what worked with us. This past Friday, I called to reschedule after finding out my child had a conflict with school and could not take her scheduled driving test. The calltaker told me it would be a $40 fee to reschedule (a rip off considering I already paid nearly $800, but I was willing to pay it). She then told me I had to go online to find a date and time that would work and call her back. I told her nicely that last time I called, they were able to give me several options and do it over the phone. Since they're so hard to get in touch with on the phone, I didn't want to play phone tag again. I knew we were free this week and next week and what times we could do. She proceeded to have an argumentative tone and was rude. She told me she was the only person to schedule tests and insinuated I was lying. She again said I had to go online to find the date and time and call back. She didn't want to listen to me at all and she was very impatient and rude. Her customer service was terrible. After realizing my conversation with her was going no where, I hung up. At this point, I will take my child to the DMV for her test. Please think twice before doing business with Treasure Coast Driving School. They are difficult to get in touch with, they will charge you extra if you have to reschedule, they set poor examples for young drivers by spending the driving time on their phone texting or talking instead of teaching, and they have terrible customer service. We left an email for the business with our frustrations and 3 days later still haven't heard back. I'd hate for any other parent to experience what we have.

Showed up early (and I recommend everyone else do too, because any negative experience related to time is 100% error on the student) and was greeted by everyone which helped calm my nerves a lot. I was incredibly nervous but the instructor disarmed me immediately-he was friendly, informative and very helpful. I passed after one exam! Overall it was an incredibly positive experience and I don't regret waiting as long as I did to get my license because I was able to test with this school in the end. The instructor told me he owns the business and has been working for 35 years. I highly recommend this company to take your test, and will probably sign my younger sister up when I'm able to bring her up!
