The Covered Market is a Turkish lighting *dream*. I have no idea what any of these things are called, but it was like a rainbow glass mosaic of *awesome*. In addition, the sales lady (manager? owner?) was so incredibly sweet and nice as we plagued her with 50000000 questions about colors, sizes and ridiculous needs (these mosaic balls, with that ring, but of that length, etc etc etc). Heh. And the prices weren't that bad. Yes, the chandelier we ultimately decided upon will be $500+, but we were pretty insane in what we asked for...so I'm quite sure we're the exception...not the rule. Super cute and I can't wait to figure out where to put the other hanging light that I spied. Shhhhhh...don't tell my husband...he doesn't know yet. Heh.

However, recently I had a few not-so-good interactions with them that left a bad after taste. I liked a pair of earrings (4.3 grams) so I asked for price. The owner said $395 including gold weight, labor, rhodium, etc. Still, $395 is a lot for 4.3g even considering other factors mentioned above. Anyway, I left that day and came back another day when gold prices dropped a little, hoping for a lower price. The owner dismissively said $525. She gives prices on a whim without any reason. Anyway, I had the same design custom made from another shop for a lot less $255. I went back to see current designs, and they just acted very awkward. Oh well, her loss of a good customer. I buy a lot of jewelry but I also like a good deal and some respect.
