These women are phenomenal! (I went to the urgent care side )…read more I felt that I was 100% cared for the minute I walked in. The receptionist was so kind and welcoming . I finished handing over my info and was instantly taken back by a lovely nurse . She is shorter, curly hair and specs and I adored her ! She was so sweet to my 5 month old as I was getting my care. I decided to get my ear pierced and it got infected. I felt that all my concerns were in my chart and then the Dr came in she was lovely as well. She took my piercing out since I couldn't get it . Then sent the culture away for staff , she had someone come clean my ear up . Let me go with antibiotics she was keen to tell me if the swelling is there after the meds I need to Return ASAP! My time here was quick and painless , they were all so helpful and genuine I felt truly wanted there not like other clinics that you feel that your a burden . I live in port orchard and drove an hour to get here with my 5 month old and felt that my time here was spent well . Thank you to everyone from the minute I walked in to Leaving I appreciate this staff so much ! I got my results back and I have staff .

The lab at the Virginia Mason Bainbridge Island Clinic is incredibly unreliable, so I drive half an hour to LabCorp. The lab is frequently short staffed, has unreliable hours, and long wait times. They also often out of supplies so cannot do some tests. They made an error on one test and called on of my family members at 11 pm telling her to go to the Emergency Room immediately. When we arrived, the ER seemed perplexed. They ran the same test and then sent her home at 3 AM. Nearly every time we have tried to use their Urgent Care we are checked in, triaged, and sent to the ER in Silverdale or Bremerton. The business model is to have long wait times for doctor's visits so almost all issues are seen initially in the Urgent Care; no same day or next day appointments. The seemingly endless string of medical records data breeches, and monopoly pricing complete the picture.

The other day and while I was having a treatment they brought me a warm blanket and glass of ice water!! They're always cheery and check in on me with a phone call. Last night my son was complaining his ear was itching and then he started crying saying it hurt... he's had a cough for the past week so I thought maybe it is an ear infection, we rushed over to the urgent care. Minutes after giving the receptionist his insurance card and info we were already being placed in a room with a nurse... they took his vitals, asked a few questions and saw the doctor right away. Dr Phasouk quickly looked at his ears and immediately confirmed it was an inner ear infection... We were in and out of there in less than 30 minutes.. it took longer to get his prescription at the store than it did to see a doctor!!! I cannot say enough about this place! We love our family doctor Dr. Kim Dougan, we love the facility and we now love the urgent care... being on the island here you sort of don't expect quick service because it's like people are on "island time" but I've been impressed by Harrison Medical Center with every visit! There is also an elderly care facility right next door, where I'm sure they have falls and small emergencies often, they are lucky to be so close to such an amazing facility... Now the urgent care hours are only 8-8 but for a larger emergency I would probably try to get to Seattle... that's where the helicopter emergency insurance comes in handy.

But I'm glad things turned out the way they did, because for one, all the other doctors were female, and for another, Dr Tomberg is pretty awesome. I got scheduled in relatively quickly (I had to wait on the order of three months back with my PCP in the Bay Area), within about a month of when I called, and the wait for the doc wasn't too horrible either when physical day came around. Sociable and friendly doc who didn't seem to be rushing through patients, and took the time to answer the numerous questions I had. I also appreciated that he took extra steps to see if he could do anything about things like my occasional heartburn, and even humored me with my request to get weighed (being in a wheelchair, I haven't gotten weighed in about eight years, but he actually lifted me up onto a scale to weigh me - major points for doing that).

After looking and looking for some guidance I found the Yelp reviews of Dr. Tomberg and they have proved to be absolutely spot on. My visits with Dr. Tomberg have been both substantive (not the HMO 15 min turn and burn) and informative. He clear explains both the situation and the proposed treatment. His support staff are responsive and friendly and for folks working downtown the Polyclinic location is very convenient.

She demands sensitive information without establishing basic trust, or answering questions to earn that trust, or even simply clarify that she can be trusted. The questions I was asked to answer to see her were confusing and concerningly stigmatizing across the board. When I asked questions, I was made to feel like I was being "disobedient" for doing so. The patient practitioner relationship is unbalanced, she has no empathy, or interest in listening to concerns. I am genuinely concerned that she does hypnosis given her character and I feel I missed a bullet and a potentially very abusive and damaging therapeutic relationship.
