I called in December as a returning patient after two years, and I was told the next available appointment would not be until May. I asked if I could be placed on a cancellation or waiting list for anything sooner, but they told me no. On the day of my appointment, I arrived 30 minutes early to the office I had previously visited, only to find out the provider had moved to Gig Harbor. I immediately called the office, but they do not speak directly with patients, only through text messaging. I explained that I was already on my way and would only be about 10 minutes late due to the address confusion. Instead of trying to accommodate me, they told me I would need to reschedule all the way until August and then charged me a $100 no-show fee. When the appointment reminder was sent, I did not notice the new address, but after waiting five months for an appointment, I do not believe this situation was handled fairly or professionally. Charging a long-term returning patient a no-show fee under these circumstances feels unreasonable and shows a lack of compassion and flexibility toward patients.

I love the addition of dogs in the office - what a perfect buffer to an otherwise potentially anxiety-inducing experience. This is a very personal experience, unlike any other I have had in the past. She told me she shouldn't tell me about it but she basically stole me from normal healthcare. I liked her. She was smart and capable. The sad news is every time i went to the new clinic and I arrived for an appointment it was new staff. They were always rude. This should've been a red flag since I had appointments 5 times or more a year. I was told when the clinic started there would be video calls and care from afar and paying this monthly fee on top of the doctor visit fee would be worth it. Unfortunately it never was. Only during Covid did the video calls happen and half the time the Dr never showed for the appointment. I did appreciate that before they expanded my needs were met when my Dr was out of the office. Fast forward to POST COVID. More new staff and a new office on Bainbridge. You'd think quality of care was going to be better...wrong. More new front office staff. Staff that hung up on me after I heard champagne pop and laughing in the background. I questioned them on if they were having a party. They hung up on me. I was in a medical emergency and got hung up on. And I pay a monthly fee to ensure said care. I barely heard from my doctor since post Covid. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They cancelled my appointment 3 times and I received a letter stating my doctor was terminating our medical relationship. I'm fine with this as I've had to take entire days off to make their appointments to then just have them cancelled. They have dogs in the office and at first I thought oh good I can take my dog to my appointment to have the doctors dog try to attack my dog. Bottom line is dogs in a medical environment isn't okay. I wish it was. But it's not. Yet the dog is still there. It's sad to see a good physician become what they are now. Staff won't support as promised, appointments cancelled last minute and with 5 other doctors I was hung up on when I had a medical emergency. That always worked perfectly. A bill came in the mail yesterday with new instructions how to pay online at www.quickpayportal.com. It was quick, easy and safe. I entered a code from my bill, it pulled up my account showing the correct amount I owed, I put in my credit card info and paid the bill. I can pay on my cell phone too by going to the same web site. Really convenient. Using this new payment service, I can also keep the phone lines open for patients who really need to get through to the medical staff quickly. Smart patient care improvement. I like Dr. Frandsen's clinic because it is so comprehensively innovative and progressive.

I had visited their clinic last year, had my physical and the year mark was coming up so I thought I'd set the appointment early before my children's summer activities kicked into gear. I spoke with an older lady on the phone, asked to set an appointment for my yearly physical and asked what times were available, preferrably as soon as she can get me in. She told me the soonest appointment she can set for my physical was Thursday at 8:30am. I asked if there was anything else closer to the end of the business day and unfortunately, no there isn't. Great. I asked if there was anything available closer to the lunch hour and she said Friday at 11:30am. She asked me if I wanted to set the physical for that date/time but I told her I needed to check with my job first to make sure I had some time off for it. I told her I'd call back tomorrow to set the appointment, asked for her direct line and she told me anyone would be able to set the appointment for me. I called back today (Thursday), after getting the thumbs up from work to set the appointment. I get this snide receptionist who says there isn't an opening on Friday at 11:30am. I tell her about my situation, how I spoke with some older lady yesterday and she gave me available appointments for the physical, etc. She scoffs and says "sorry no, there aren't any physicals available at that time". OK! So.. Long story short, we had a circular conversation about what I was told when I called in yesterday and how it wasn't her problem that I was told that since SHE didn't tell me that information herself. She asked me who I spoke to and I told her I never got the lady's name because I didn't think I'd have to defend myself and the information I was given the following day. The best part? I asked her to find out who I spoke with so she said she'd ask around. She put me on hold for a few minutes, came back on the line and said "sorry you misunderstood the information that was given to you". Excuse me? She goes on to say that the lady I spoke to said there was an "opening" for Friday at 11:30am but it wasn't an opening for a PHYSICAL... So let me get this straight, I ask to set an appointment for a physical, I am given the dates and times for supposed available appointments for a physical and the following day I'm told that the date/time given was an "opening", but not an "opening" for a physical? What good would that appointment be to me? I mean, seriously. A little common sense here. I'm pretty sure people who call to set an appointment for a physical expect to be given available appointment times for....A PHYSICAL! I am VERY disappointed with the way the situation turned out. It doesn't take rocket science to see how ridiculous this whole scenario was. Given the lack of knowledge and common sense, she could have at least offered to work with me to set another appointment or at the VERY least own up to THEIR mistake instead of pointing the finger at me and saying "I misunderstood". Like I said, the doctors here are nice enough, but they should really consider re-training or re-hiring some competent and friendly people at the front desk. These are the faces and personalities who deal with the doctors' patients day-in and day-out. It's poor practice to have a horrible conversation with a patient then try to interject with a "well you NEED to be seen anyway so you'll NEED to set an appointment for your physical." The phone conversation with the receptionist was less than productive and it seemed the soonest I could get in would be months away. I decided to look around & met with another doctor with great reviews but he seemed a bit cold. I tried again to set up an appointment with Quimby through the dreaded staff and was much more successful the second time around, only waiting a month or so to get in. Now I've only met with Doc Quimby once, as a 'meet & greet' and to discuss a couple little issues & future planning, but I INSTANTLY liked her. I felt comfortable and it was informal, relaxed, and just all around a very productive appointment. She just seemed awesome. And I have nothing bad to say about the staff either. Once I checked in my wait was only about 15 minutes max, and they were very friendly and nothing like the ghastly reviews. They mailed me all the history paperwork I needed to fill out beforehand and thanked me graciously for handing it in filled out when I arrived. I hope to update this review to a full 5 stars after a few more visits, but I figured after just 1 time I shouldn't set the bar too high. It looks as though I'm the first person to write a review for Quimby on here too, hopefully this will prompt more people to do the same for her and other local doctors. There was a long wait to get an appointment, and the staff wasn't the most professional or friendly. It was hard to even reach someone. I waited for my appointment, and ended up having to call in to reschedule. When I called to reschedule my upcoming appointment, the receptionist had 'no record' of my appointment. I guess they didn't successfully schedule it or mark it down. This was discouraging and disheartening, but we went ahead and rescheduled and I waited the long wait to the next appointment. When it was almost to my appointment day, the office called me to let me know that I could no longer be a patient there because I was a 'no call, no show.' Without speaking with me, they cancelled the long awaited appointment (at this point it had been almost three months just trying to get in to see Dr. Niran). I called in to try to clear up the misunderstanding. Explaining that I wasn't a no call, no show. Perhaps the office staff didn't see the originally scheduled appointment, but it was somehow successfully scheduled somewhere--and then when I didn't show up for the appointment (they said they didn't even have on their books), I was marked a no call no show? I'm not sure what happened on their end, but I am very responsible and communicative. Whenever I do need to reschedule, I call in advance. The receptionist just went on to lecture me about why the policy is important. I'm like "I agree, but I didn't not call and just not show up and you said I didn't even have an appointment. How could I even be absent for an appointment that, the last time I called in, you told me you didn't have scheduled. They are all over the place over there, and I was losing patience. They said in about a week they could get back with me about if I would be able to be seen as a patient. I told them there really must've been some sort of mistake. I did not earn the 'no call, no show' punishment. They called today saying that we would not be able to be seen because I 'missed an appointment.' There was no understanding or hearing me that it was a clerical error on their office's part and I got falsely accused and kicked out for their mistake. I'm just trying to take care of my daughter. I've already waited three months to see Dr. Niran Al-Agba. Now I guess I have to start from scratch. My child is now going to be due for her 15 month appointment. 've completely missed the milestone 12 month exam. I waited and waited for my Silverdale Pediatrics' appointment, nervous about her going without a check-up for months.
