Yeah, I really don't believe in the whole "you need to come in every few days for the rest of your life, and subluxations will kill you" I believe that if I have a crick in my neck or if something is hurting I need to see someone, if it isn't fixed then maybe there is something wrong with the "fixin" process. Well, Dr. Morgan, isn't like anyone I've ever been to, FIRST, she came out and said that after three visits for the same thing if she hasn't fixed me, she'll refer me out. Amazing, and the way it should be. Honest and too the point the entire appointment. Second, I work crazy hours and she is willing to work around them and find a time that works for me and her to make sure I can be seen when I do need it. Also, she adjusts way differently from how I have ever been adjusted, it's not a 10 minute jump on you crack crack crack adjustment, she'll crack you but it's by you using your muscle manipulation and getting the nerves involved, it's intense, and you'll feel it. She takes my insurance and she's easy to talk to. Not your typical chiro office or practice, but I feel at home here, even with the Cross-Fit gym shouting next door. Yes, there is a Cross-Fit gym right next to the office and it's not exactly LOUD, but if you're expecting an office with an old man with Enya playing in the background, this isn't it. Yea, I have had some health issues prior to my arrival at Sound Naturopathic Clinic, but I have been treated by a naturopath in my previous state for years, addressing all of those. The purpose for my visit was to establish care and treatment for my overall health as well as the one chronic condition that needs ongoing follow-ups. It's a thyroid condition, so I need thyroid prescriptions every three months. I barely had a chance to sit down when the provider pulls out my health history and says we have a lot to go over but we won't have time to get to it all. I explained that I have been treated for years by a naturopathic doctor so my prior "conditions" were not why I was there. I explained that I have an autoimmune disease that requires prescriptions and I was there mainly to establish care and be treated for that-- my CURRENT condition. The provider rudely cut me off and sniped that she was not going to be used. I was confused, so I asked her to explain what she was talking about. She repeated that she would not be used by me. I asked her in what way she felt me coming to her for care was me using her. She said she isn't going to be used for prescriptions. (Which is a pretty ridiculous attack on my character, and also, ridiculous to accuse someone of pill shopping THYROID medicine. I again explained that I was there to be monitored and had labs to show her as well. Again, she rudely accused me of using her for prescriptions. She wasn't making sense and at this point the vibes were so toxic I removed myself from this establishment. I wholeheartedly believe she was planning on charging me for a litany of tests and procedures that I don't need at this point, and likely have already had with my previous provider. Well, sir, it happened here. A dermotologist had recommended I see Dr. Sarah Neitzel for podiatric care and I had my PCP send a referral to her. When the office called to schedule an appointment I was told I'd be seeing her partner, Dr. Jarod Spencer instead. I agreed to the change. This is why it always pays to be open-minded. The office visit with Dr. Spencer was superb. Very friendly guy with an easy manner who really knows his stuff. We talked about the foot thing I had an issue with a slightly-regrown ingrown toe nail He gave me several options including two options for cutting the nail thing out. We agreed I'd try the options and then follow up in a couple of months. Have you ever been given new info and felt your brain expand with that new knowledge? Only me, huh? Well then, OK, let's continue. Anyway, my brain expanded after absorbing that new information. But THE best thing about my appointment with Dr. Spencer? Not once did he leave the exam room to check on other patients waiting in other exam rooms. I've gone to two single doctor podiatry practices where the one guy would be bopping back and forth between several rooms. So not only are you waiting for the guy to come back and finish whatever he started, you worry and hope that the guy remembers who YOU are and what your situation is and doesn't confuse you with another patient. I've had a past podiatrist say to me upon his return to the room, "OK, where were we? Oh yes..." Those guys are hyped up to begin with because they have to be in order retain sufficient energy (and hopefully mental focus) throughout the day--every day. Dr. Spencer was calm, friendly and professional. He was at ease which put me at ease--and this was our first visit. So, from now on, he's my guy. And since I've got various foot issues, it's comforting to know I found a great podiatrist I can trust, and well deserves this five-star rating.
