If you've had a bad experience in the past, maybe give them a chance to show how they have improved. I don't schedule my appointments, as I have failed to remember the dates and had to resolve fees--but when I need to make an appointment, they usually fit me in day-of with one of their very competent professional psychiatrists. I've seen three and they have all provided exemplary service with refills and communication on all relevant fronts.

Dr. Ungson has always had a control freak/ narcissistic complex and never listens to me but I need…read moremy meds so I decided to use the virtual calls so I don't feel so degraded. Today I was talking to Dr. Nick Ungson about increasing my dosage because he weaned me off two other meds that I have been on for many years. I was asking him questions about my new dosage of meds and such and he got mad at me and shook his notepad at me that he was writing on and yelled, " That's what I'm trying to tell you!!!". I then said, " Are you really yelling at me ?". He then got an even bigger attitude because I confronted him about his uncalled for actions. He would not let me speak or answer any questions even after asking them. For example: He asked me if a dosage of one of my meds was 80mg. When I went into my phone notes he said, " No,no, no, if you don't know forget it, I'll look it up later." Why ask if I can't have a few seconds even to answer you? I have been telling my wife since I started seeing him almost 2 years ago that I don't think he is listening to me. I had just told Dr. Ungson today that I stopped taking the meds that he weaned me off four days ago. In his next sentence to me he said, " So it was 2 weeks ago that you stopped taking those meds"?? I then decided that I was going to address him about feeling like he isn't really listening and caring with me as his patient. I then said, "Dr. Ungson, I don't feel like you are listening to me and you didn't let me fully describe how bad I've been for the past month. It has been a living hell you won't even listen to the symptoms I've been suffering with. It almost makes me feel like I need to find a new Dr." So, Ungson replies, " Then that is what you do", as he walks me out of his office and tells the ladies at the front desk that," I'm no longer his patient. " Ungson never did send in my new prescriptions to my pharmacy and I can't believe he was that nasty and asked me to leave over stating how I felt!!!! I HIGHLY ADVISE you to NOT USE DR. Nick Ungson!!! Another thing they do is make everyone wear masks for the Corona Virus which hospitals and airports doesn't even enforce right now. This office will try and call you to change your appointment constantly, or not tell you that you have an appointment and then when you miss it, charge you $60! If I hadn't talked to the office on Monday and just happened to find out that I had an appointment the next day, I would have missed it! Lastly, one other thing that this office does is if you see Dr. Ungson, you MUST talk to their Therapist John! You don't get a choice if you choose therapy or not. You MUST speak to their therapist to get your medications. Lake Center of Hope is a joke and they can be hard to understand with their native language being Filipino. We chose a facility together. They were going to have it all set for me and were calling there when I left the office. I drove 2 hrs, with my suitcase packed for a stay. Upon arrival, I was told they've never heard of me, and have no room for a new patient till next week. Wow. Dr. Brady recommended I have an apt with his psychiatrist friend to get a chemical swab done that would tell exactly what chemicals my brain is lacking so I could get the proper meds I need to combat my depression. It took quite a while to get a zoom apt with him. I just finished it. This doctor told me he doesn't know if his office is doing the swab test right now because of Covid. I asked him to find out for me. He seemed most aggrieved at my request and told me to call them myself. That was supposed to be the entire point of this appointment. What a waste of my time. Needless to say, my entire experience with Mind and Body Institute was nothing but negative experiences. Between being turned away from the mental hospital that they were supposed to get me into, to the disappointing Zoom appointment with this psychiatrist who had no clue what I was sent to him by Dr. Brady for, to the $1,000 I'm out of for an online psych test that never should have cost a small fortune out of pocket, I feel taken advantage of, used, and poorly treated. If you need psychiatric help, DO NOT visit this place with high hopes. I'm out of time, money, and the help I needed. It was nothing but a mistake I implore you not make for yourself. He was pocketing medications which after this incident we had to fully show out mouths , teeth, tongue and gums and had flashlights flashed on us every 15 minutes. If protocol was followed all along this man's life could have been saved. This should have been done before the death. I was sexually harassed by a patient while I was there. They had already been reported to staff for masturbating in public places. The day, following the unfortunate death of a patient we were asked to pick up litter and we could earn an extra candy or soda. That was the most degrading thing that I've ever been asked to do. They also had several patients that all they did is scream and yell all day to have staff intervene. This interfered with any lessons or teachings for at least four days until they were removed off the premises. Several women also wore basically no clothing. They had no clothes for these women to wear. It was extremely inappropriate ALL body parts showing. There was also a man who wrote satanic symbols in dirt and it was laughed off. Another patient was admitted who admitted to everyone that he cut chickens heads off. He was a minor and would continually harass people for lighters. He even ran after a housekeeper who was outside her car. I was literally in fear for my life A place where I was supposed to feel safe and receive mental health. I left them more traumatized than helped at the end . Advertising stated that there was a pool and equine therapy which of that there. They also stated that you would have three therapy session with a licensed therapist. I did not have a licensed therapist and she called my husband several times stating that I had to stay there. I do not want my husband to worry, so I did not let him all of these things that were going on. Place was not hygienically clean (towels, face cloths, bedding not washed or dried at proper temperatures. This resulted in me having to go to ER with an extreme UTI resulting in me having to have a catheter placed. My therapist was not licensed. I requested another therapist and she told me that this request would not happen. I spoke with A registered licensed therapist and she stated I could get a new therapist. At this point I was in such fear for my life that I left the premises which put my life in danger due to it being in the middle of nowhere. I got so lost I had no choice but to return. Two days later I woke up with severe flank pain and unable to walk. It took over four hours to get me to the hospital. due to the poor hygiene of the facility. I have acquired a major UTI, which I've had to have three doctors appointments and two ER visits due to this. I was medically discharged. I believe having to go to the hospital, save my life from this place. This place is a detox not for mental health issues. If you have an ankle monitor ( several did) and are looking to reduce jail time or are so mentally unstable you are not connected to reality this place may help. Please please do your research to any facility you go to. It can make or break you. Pictures are nothing at all what place looks like. Run down, mold, and unsanitary. Also lost electricity twice for several hours. No back up lights. No water. This place deserves no stars but you had to give it one. State needs shut this place down.
