First, I get a hot towel wrapped around my head so that the shaving gel works its way into the scalp. Then, a slathering of warm shaving cream. Seeing as how I get my head shaved with a straight razor, Nick takes great care to do an incredible job, leaving me with no nicks or cuts. He will also buzz my eyebrows, nose hair, and ear hair free of charge. Ever since Covid-19, the price has gone up from $18 to $25. They currently use Booksy, so I can book an appointment in advance and not have to wait around to get a cut. There is no need to be concerned about parking they have tons of spots.

The Skillman Barber Shop is pretty close, so decided to give that a try. It's pretty easy to schedule an appointment or walk in. I did the latter and was fit in after a reasonable amount of wait. The owner took care of me and the process was pleasant. The shave was a bit more light-handed than I was used to, but that's totally fine. The process was thorough and professional. Overall, I'm happy with the shave and service and would consider going back. One thing to note though is that someone that was taken care of before me had a bit of back and forth on services rendered and price. I think they were expecting one thing (or asked for one thing) and something else happened. I won't speak to that too much since I didn't overhear enough, but I would advise to make sure to clarify things before you sit down so you don't have any misunderstandings.

I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was taken right away by the owner. He did a good job of cleaning up the others mistakes. He took his time, asked me questions as he went along (before making any cut) which I found to be comforting. Going back in a week or two to get another cut. Will post a photo.
