Disgusting is more like it. I made an appt with LifeWorks last Thursday for myself and my daughter who actually had a more serious medical situation. They charged my cc a nonrefundable amount of $500. They do NOT take insurance. I have adrenal fatigue from an illness and having to take steroids, two rounds of antibiotics for a 3 week illness. I know I have a metabolic disorder and cannot process those kinds of meds and this isn't the first time since I'm aware of my condition. I called to cancel appt TODAY (Monday), days before the appt and they refuse to refund me and my daughter for our appts which LifeWorks could EASILY re-book and stay in good graces for a time when the situation arises. It's preposterous to TAKE someone's money without EVER delivering a service. SHAME ON YOU!!! I don't have money to waste to line their greedy pockets. AVOID this place like the plague. I went to this clinic with high expectations of help, especially with the sauna and IV treatment to assist with my shallow breathing and asthma. I saw Jennifer Baer whom I adored and felt she could help me. However, when I got to the office portion for payments, I was treated like I was beneath the CSR who demanded I pay the $6,500 before I could have the sauna/IV treatment. I had Jennifer choose the top three tests she thought necessary but the CSR would not budge. I left feeling very disgruntled. I explained this to Jennifer who said she has nothing to do with the front office - Wow! That was helpful! Six months go by and I get a letter from the doctor in charge stating it was a pleasure to meet me - that's funny; he never did meet me. And now I'm getting e-mails from them, like I would really be interested. No thanks! Aside from the fact that I'm now on 24/7 oxygen, what really is it that they could do for me now? Dr. Minkoff was the first to diagnose me with three tick borne illnesses after the indirect (antibody) test from my primary was false negative. I suffered 7 years and ended up with chest pain and air hunger symptoms ,walked out of my job because of mental health symptoms before finding LifeWorks. Besides being the most thorough diagnosis process I've ever been through,Dr Minkoff also addressed all of the secondary infections, leaky gut syndrome and balanced out my neurotransmitters, and autoimmune inflammation. They will 'triage' your testing and treatment to do what's most necessary first if you tell them money is a factor. Even so, I ran out of funding and had to quit before full healing but I am back to work part-time, neurologically functional and was free from reactivated EBV for a full 6 months. Continuing tx with a more local MD/ND including antimalaria drugs for the persistent Babesia although ozone does cross the blood brain barrier and break down biofilm ,the Bartonella persists after 24 treatments. I went to just get a Myers Cocktail. When I made the appointment the said I had to do a blood panel. This is just their requirement. You can go to many places without lab work for a Myers cocktail. I am in sales, so I knew this was a gimmick to get my lab work and see if they can fix anything. I didn't mind because I would like to know what is going on inside my body. I went for a $75 IV drip of vitamins and walked out paying thousands. I personally don't mind the bill because in comparison to western medicine it is less expensive- the difference is you can't use health insurance. So you actually pay out of your pocket all at once as opposed to paying monthly health insurance premiums, deductibles, co-Pays, etc. I used the ozone suana and thought that was neat. Jennifer Baer, Angel, Bill, and Jennifer (IV room) were the best humans o have met in a long time. They were patient, knowledgeable, and so very kind. I left raving about this place and trying to get my family to go. While in the IV room to get my Myers cocktail I was blessed to have talked to cancer patients seeking treatments. All in good spirits and all grateful for the Center. They may not like the process or the bill - but they all raves about the quality of life they continue to have as opposed to doing traditional chemo and radiation of western medicine. read more

With a breast cancer mets of 3 nodes to the axilla, I chose to try IPT. The cost was $45,000. After all the expensive tests, I was most disappointed that a naturopathic doctor would not see me without first having a PET scan. I was a model patient and did everything told. I became uncomfortable when the questions I asked where not properly answered by the staff, especially what exactly was the composition of the Meyers/B drips as I started turning yellow. Office manager basically told me they don't know how much of each B vitamin is in it as it comes pre-mixed. Really?! ARNP dropped her eyes and wouldn't look me in the face when asked if IPT healed others as I couldn't find a testimonial in the lobby. It was an exhausting 3-month treatment and going through hours of it everyday made me feel more tired and worn out that before I got there. I asked how were they allowed to give chemo, who trained them, why can they only give 10%-15% and not enough to actually attack and kill the cancer, what is in the lymphatic shots the staff gives but says "ask Dr. Minkoff" the next time you see him" as they just insert the drips and do as told. The staff are so sweet and caring, one day one staff lady was taken away by ambulance, everything was hush and we never knew what happened to her. Long story, the three months of my life I gave him was a waste of crucial time as my stage 2 and 3 lymph nodes jumped to Stage 3 with 8 lymph nodes. The ARNP who gave me IPT coldly hugged me as I cried and told me "you can do this, sorry we couldn't help you" as she heard I was headed for surgery, chemo and radiation. They have staff meetings each Monday to discuss the IPT patients: each time discussing who might be "the one" that gets cured. WE patients had hours to chat and discuss a lot with each other in the IV room ourselves. No one was healed, no one knew of anyone healed either, we all had cookie-cutter treatment. Cancer patients came and went. Some returned after treatment for Vit C drips. I only heard one mother say IPT helped her son to "maintain" (not cure) his Leukemia. Whether stage 1 or 4, you are treated the same with possibly a little higher percentage of chemo, if your liver can handle it. I feel too many chemo drugs were combined and injected at the same time. My liver enzymes were always high after IPT. Though I LOATHED having to do the real chemo later, my liver never had issues or e yellowing of my eyes and skin like I did while going through IPT. When my oncologist saw the list of drugs given during IPT he asked "how the hell did they get chemo drugs? Do you know how hard it is to obtain it? Who trained them?' Great questions, as I asked many and rarely got good responses other than " ask Minkoff. last appointment with him, I brought to his attention that my PET scan was read incorrectly as I popped CD in and saw 8 nodes, not the 3 reported. I screen shot it and showed him. He called the doc reading the PET and asked him. After the call, he high fived me and told me my lymph nodes were smaller and the treatment ws working. He told me "go out and live your life like you don't have cancer". I walked out, had the PET re-read, had 8 nodes like my CD of the PET showed and was headed for surgery, The surgeon removed EIGHT nodes, Stage 3 cancer. Glad I didn't take his advice to go out and live my life like I didn't have cancer.....if I did, I might be dead as I had an aggressive type. He's kind, positive and upbeat. Be careful, just because he speaks positively with you doesn't mean his treatments for cancer work. I only take consolation in that the $45,000 I paid and the time I wasted was that all those supplements and vitamins boosted my immune for what I had to face anyway. read more

My wife Laurie passed away September 25th in hospice after a courageous battle from pancreatic cancer I'm writing in behalf of my wife Laurie that believed that life Works Wellness Center could help her. I was very skeptical when I arrived hearing customers in the lobby talking about not being any better after years of treatment at the center. My wife was being treated with the same treatment that Lyme disease patients were receiving. I feel a lot money was wasted. Im concerned that they mix medicine in the back room. Is the person mixing the chemicals properly trained to do this? The Center has no clue how to treat pancreatic cancer and should be honest about that and not just think about how much money they can make off an individual patient knowing it's not working. I attempted to make an appointment for my son but the new patient scheduler stated " the doctor can't waist time to go over the care plan with you that's why we have" the patient care coordinator go over the care plan. What???, waist time???, who says something like that to a potential patient, so the doctor is too busy to give the appropriate care to his patients, it's just on to the next. Then she wanted the entire first time visitation fee ($450) to make the appointment, not a deposit which I would have understood. I never paid for full service I haven't received, who does this.... I just seems like this place is all about the money and not patient care. I am not sure I believe all the other reviews were truly completed by real patients. read more

This place is very, very expensive. The initial visit is $ 250. The tests that they wanted me to have were going to be $ 3,800. If your are very rich this place might be ok, but it doesn't work for middle or lower income people. They also don't accept insurance. I would look for another doctor or medical clinic. read more

I spent over $7,000.00 in one day...desperate to feel better. In hindsight I should have done more research and waited, many of the expensive tests ordered were really not indicated and did not help with my diagnosis or care. I was also told that I had Addisons disease after doing a sputum test and started on hydrocortisone, which I was on for several months. After doing some research I found an expert endocrinologist who did a cortisol stimulation test on me and found that I in fact did/do not have Addisons disease. At my initial visit the Dr "felt" that I has hypothyroidism even though I told him my last labs were normal, he prescribed a low dose synthroid and ordered the lab work. I never took the medication out of instinct and good thing because my tests were all normal. The Dr also tried to convince me that I have lyme disease even though the tests were negative and wanted me to start expensive IV treatments. Instead I used my insurance and had 2 separate Drs test me for lyme and both times were negative. So after gaining a lot of weight from the steroids and being out $7,000.00 I am no closer to feeling better or a diagnosis than when I started. My advice would be to exhaust your own insurance by seeking out different providers, opinions and options and if you do decide to go there have a friend or someone go with you to help ask questions and make more informed choices before you spend your savings. They only take cash and when you are sick and desperate you will pay anything or try anything without thinking clearly. read more
