I took a lamp that needed a socket replaced. I have had this lamp about 15 years the lamp had a prior scratch. When the lamp was returned to me it was now chipped which it was not before. If there was an option to give zero stars I would do that. The owner of this place is so rude and unprofessional, I would never recommend his store to anyone. A few years back I had a similar experience with him, but thought it was an isolated incident. The wonderful salesman at another lighting store, who did not have the product I needed in stock, sent me to this store instead. I bought the items, around $100, but they were the wrong size for what I needed. I called The Light Switch and explained the problem and the owner said bring them back on Monday. When I returned with the items as he said to, he refused to refund my money, even though I had additionally brought in a light fixture for him to repair. He then got belligerent, raised his voice and became even ruder. I left without a refund taking my light fixture with me. With retail establishments begging for business after this last year of covid, nobody needs to do business with this horrid man. read more

Great experience. I had a large water urn that had been converted into a lamp, but it had a bad socket and needed a new plug and wire coating. The guy diagnosed the problem immediately, and I was able to pick it up soon thereafter. Quick and easy, and friendly service. Very glad Miami has this nice local place. read more

Filip and his wife Gisele (who are French) at the Light Switch are incredible. I have an over $600 solid crystal lamp that was broken during a recent move from Los Angeles. I phoned several lamp repair shops in and around Miami including taking it to the design district to seek advice. Not one shop would attempt to repair the bedside lamp because it was crystal. I brought it to Felipe and he said he would attempt the repair but wasn't sure that it could work given the base was broken and the lamp weighs nearly 20 lbs. He indicated to me if he couldn't repair it he would not charge me for his time & effort. Filip phoned me the next business day and said he'd repaired the crystal lamp and "it looks great". He was a bit off as it looks absolutely fantastic considering the damage that was done. I am so grateful for Filip and now looking at the two matching crystal lamps on either side of my bed, it's not noticeable which one of the two lamps were damaged and repaired. I also bought a beautiful black linen "eye shaped" lamp shade that Filip hand crafted that looks absolutely perfect in my new diggs!! I am a most grateful and extremely happy customer!!! Filip's French craftsmanship on the lamps and lamp shades are tres bon!!! read more
