This post is so long over due. I'm in the process of buying my 2nd Red Sea from Lamont. I've been going to lighthouse aquatics since I moved here in late October. Just after thanksgiving Lamont and Tim installed my tank. Lamont's crew comes every other week to do cleaning and maintenance. Every time I go into the store Tim and Lamont are so so nice and very knowledgeable. I've never had an issue with them. Lamont was the person I started with and like I said at the beginning I am now having another tank installed in my new office space reception area. The tank speaks for itself and it's just so nice and calming to look at. Even my cat loves it. When Tim comes over an even the new guy they hired, they always enjoy and welcome my cat to come help. They pet her and move her around with the ladder. It's become their thing. Lol all in all 10/10 love these guys! read more

I absolutely love this place. When I wanted to get into saltwater tanks, Lamont was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I didn't want a super big tank so he set me up with a 9 gallon bio cube. My fish are so happy and healthy. My two clowns are thriving. The store is always so clean. I appreciate that the owner knows all his customers by name and really connects with his customers. Every time I go back to the store to get water for my tank, It's a quick and easy experience. I always leave with a smile on my face. The owner Lamont threw a bucket across the parking lot at me missing me by inches. I filed a police report. When my Mom returned a fish that he sold her he acted super agresive. He's always making inapoprate sexual comment's to her. She hated that. I was her buffer but it didnt help much. I heard him several times saying things that made me cringe. He was taking care of her tanks badley I might add. He's fish always had some kind of illness. He sold her a Emperor Angel that eats corals knowing she had corals and it did est some of our corals! He was suposto take it out of our tank but a week later she had to take it in because he was not getting it out. THATS WHEN HE HEAVED THE BUCKET AT ME IN THE PARKING LOT. CRAZY RIGHT? We found a new place in Palm Desert to take care of our tanks. He's great and knows a lot about fish. Our fish and tanks are thriving now! read more

I also cannot say enough nice things about Lamont. Hired him about a year ago to clean and take care of my 4 tanks. He does not disappoint ever! There was a tank labeled $20 dollar frag tank. After I picked two out, the owner told me one was going to actually be $30. I did enjoy the variety of coral (outside the $20 dollar frag tank.) In addition, I wasn't waited on, I had to track down the owner to pick out a coral. I was in a rush at the time, so this proved inconvenient. Another thing I did not enjoy was during check out. It seems the owner needs to type in each transaction on a computer. Takes awhile to buy anything. Just seems like complete outdated checkout technology. All in all, I would not recommend this store unless you don't mind the owner upping the price on products last minute, and prolonged check out times. read more

Worst service ever from lamonts part. His behavior and attitude really speak for him, and it is not good, worst fish place in the valley. Went in to get some fish for my aquarium, he seemed nice and all was fine we talked about fish where he said he does not warranty salt water fish. Take in mind I bought fresh water fish that did not even last a week before they died. I have fish from other places, even petsmart, that I have never had issues with, and now the ones purchased at his store suddenly died one right after the other. When I reached out to him, he was fine with giving credit, but then he refused on the more expensive fish. When I bought an angel fish he clearly said I just brought that one in from my personal tank and gave a price for it but now that it died he claimed that he had that fish for months at the store and was fine. He rudely said he gives no warranty and I reminded him he said he did just not on salt water but he said no fish store gives warranty which he is wrong every other fish store I have been to give you warranty. He rudely yelled in the phone, " Then you should just shop at those stores," and hung up. If you are looking for fish or fish accessories, do yourself a favor and avoid this place with its fish that probably won't make it, and it's overpriced accessories you are better off trying your chances at ordering online read more

He decided to go all over social media networks and try to leave a negative review even though he agreed to pay the price. He could have easily asked the price, or even when he was told it was $30, could have passed. As for the outdated technology and "taking too long" to be assisted. This clearly isn't true, and it's evident by the other reviews everywhere else that this is a high quality establishment.
