When I called to make an appointment today I declined a rabies vaccine because our cat is in doors 100% of the time. The woman asserted that all cats were required to get a rabies vaccine annually BY LAW and I refuted that - to which she just stood her ground and argued with me some more. A quick search of the County of Riverside animal code confirmed that NO, that is NOT the law. VCA is a corporate machine that stalks you with endless postcards and texts weekly, bugging you to bring your animals in, and even after I declined the rabies vaccine I received a reminder text 2 hours later telling me I needed to bring my cat in for a rabies vaccine. This corporation's tactics to get you to spend more money at their clinic is just not ethical. I've had enough.

I found Tabitha shortly after adopting my dog Kestrel, about a year & a half ago. I'd never had my…read moreown dog, so even though I *thought* I was prepared, I needed all the help I could get. When Kestrel was a puppy, Tabitha helped prepare me for the basics- everything from potty training to socialization & general obedience. Having someone help guide me through the process made the "puppy stage" so much more manageable than I had anticipated it would be! As Kestrel grew out of puppyhood, she developed some poor social skills around other dogs- resource guarding me & showing signs of reactivity around other dogs. This caused a spike in my anxiety & was a major challenge for me, but Tabitha refused to give up on us. She gave me all the tools I needed to overcome my anxiety & teach Kestrel better manners around new dogs (we're not completely over that obstacle yet, but we are seeing major improvements). When I went out of town for two weeks over the summer, I trusted Tabitha to take care of my best friend knowing that she would get the same level of care & attention she gets at home, with the added bonus of social play time! I continue to take courses with Tabitha & the Coachella Valley Dog Club because I love my dog so so much & I want to continue giving her the tools she needs to thrive. We recently started scentwork training, & look forward to eventually taking agility courses as well! Kestrel has a small handful of people who she loves with an intensity that she can't contain & Tabitha is one of those people. We count on Coachella Valley Dog Club for obedience, socialization, specialty training, boarding, & even guidance with diet & supplements. Bringing home a dog of my own had been a dream of mine for years, & having Kestrel has been even better than I imagined, but I couldn't have done it without Tabitha's help!

DANGEROUS LACK OF TRAINING -- SPECIAL NEEDS DOG PARENTS BEWARE…read moreI will never bring my dog back to this location, and I highly caution anyone with a special-needs or senior dog against using their grooming services. My senior greyhound suffers from SLO (Symmetrical Lupoid Onychodystrophy), an autoimmune condition affecting his nails and paws. He requires regular nail trims every 3 weeks. On Friday, I checked him in at the salon, and once the groomer looked him over, was told he would be ready in 45 minutes. Minutes later, I received a phone call from PetSmart stating they were rushing him to an emergency vet because his paw was bleeding. Because of his condition, minor bleeding is a known risk that is easily managed with styptic powder--which a professional grooming salon should have readily available-and bandaging. I told them I was right down the street and to wait, but corporate policy apparently bypassed communication, and they were already transporting him. When I arrived at the vet location to meet them, I found the groomer and my dog standing on the hot, 105-degree, La Quinta black asphalt. My greyhound--a breed with incredibly thin skin and zero tolerance for extreme heat--was standing on the scorching ground with a plastic trash bag wrapped around his foot, held in place by a tightly tied ribbon on his leg. This makeshift "bandage" was not only deeply unprofessional, but incredibly dangerous, risking burns to his pads and cutting off circulation to his leg. The lack of basic first-aid knowledge, the absolute panic over a predictable symptom, and the complete disregard for the outdoor elements in La Quinta summer heat is entirely unacceptable. There is a whole aisle in PetSmart with first aid products, so I'm still very confused about why a plastic bag was wrapped around his paw. And why would anyone who knows anything about dogs have a dog standing in full, middle-of-the-day, 105 degree sun on black asphalt? After using the styptic powder available at the vet, I took my dog home immediately and bandaged him properly myself. If you have a dog that requires actual care, knowledge, or specific handling, do not trust this corporate salon. Their panic overrides basic animal safety. I seriously wonder how much training their groomers receive.

I brought the two shih tzus in for a last minute cut, and I was floored by Jessica's customer service, patience, and attention to detail. Emmett, my anxiety dog, will never walk for anyone else unless I am right next to him. When Jessica went to take him back, he did initially put on the breaks, and then Jessica encouraged him...which, to my complete surprise, worked!! He trotted right back with her! Jessica let me know it would be about 3-4 hours for them to be done, and it was like clockwork. When I picked them up, I could tell that they had been well cared for, and they also looked fantastic. Jessica helped me to completely changed my opinion of the La Quinta grooming salon. We'll definitely be back!

We mainly use Desert Feed Bag for raw pet food but it has been hit and miss for inventory. In the past there as no need to pre order product but they have dropped two of the brands so difficult to break the news to our animals. Pricing always has seemed fair as has the store staff, everyone here his very cool and well informed. We will continue to support this store but will be buying our raw diet products online for a while.

We were hoping for a good middle-ground between running dogs every day for two decades and a fat house cat and we really feel like we got exactly what we were dreaming of and so much more. Her kittens were impeccable and we can't even believe how lucky we got with our male. He was instantly affectionate and loving towards us. My husband was very wary of cats and believed all of them were skittish and stand-offish. I had a childhood cat and remembered them being easy to own. I convinced him to let me get this kitten after our last dog passed because he was so gorgeous and as masculine as a sweet kitty could possibly look. We were so impressed with Dad when we met him in person and our little guy ended up looking just as handsome now that he's almost fully grown. Even other bengal owners are always blown away by his unusual coloring and shine. This is a cat even my husband is so proud to own after years of telling me cats were for women. Lol They are best buddies and sometimes I feel like I bought my own dream cat but my husband was the one who ended up with the best friend. He has zero negative health issues and has only needed to see the vet for regular vaccinations and altering. We have so much comfort in knowing that he has only eaten human grade food as we have continued the breeder's extraordinary meal plan. We have been a lifelong long kibble and canned food combo users and we had absolutely no idea how low the quality of food that is allowed to be given as animal grade even in the most expensive pet food. Our aunt just lost her sweet male cat to a urinary blockage and we had no idea how common they are in cats fed commercial foods. We take him everywhere with us and he is a huge comfort to me because of my anxiety. Everybody wants to interact with him and love on him and he really takes a lot of pressure off situations for me. I have never known a cat to be so willing to greet a large groups of people and people can't believe how calm he is. We did take the breeders advice and alter him before sexual maturity. He has never even once had an accident outside the litter box or on grass at home or in public. After decades of puppies I was ready for months of potty training. I had no idea how incredible a well raised kitten is at using the litter box exclusively. It was an absolute dream transition bringing him into our home. He has changed my life. We have not gotten a second bengal only because we love so much that we are able to travel with him and worry that flights, imposing on friends when we stay, etc would be too difficult with more than him but I am so tempted every time I see your posts of new litters. We have been life long animal adores but we never knew we could experience a bond with an animal like this.
