Excellent venue and well setup for a big or an intimate wedding. Right on the water with cute tiki-huts. We had a great time!

We went here for a beautiful wedding. Only main issue is how hot it was. I really wish they had 'misters' to spray us with and big overhead fans. It is a beautiful venue and the staff was really nice. Halfway through I had to change my heels as my feet couldn't handle the hard packed sand any more. The food was very good. Salad, chicken, rice, meat. Unfortunately, after they cut the wedding cake they invited everyone to come to the dance floor and the cake was taken away. Key Largo Lighthouse provided us with many options for: Hair and Makeup, Catering, Photography, DJ, Officiant, Décor rental, etc. and were pleased with every option we chose. The property was clean and comfortable, with breathtaking views. We did not have to set up or take down, just needed to be there. I just returned from a wedding at the Key largo Lighthouse. The venue itself is beautiful. The outdoor areas are lovely and perfect for a beach wedding. The lights in the trees, the boardwalk aisle, the Palm trees, the pier...just gorgeous. This was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. However, there were a few issues. 1- the grounds were always swarming with workers that we felt could have come at more appropriate times. (i.e. early morning). A prime example was the pool guy, who was there late morning, when we all wished to be in the pool, NOT waiting for him to test the water and then strip down to his trunks and get in to work on the pool. Awkward. 2- the air conditioning in the house worked really well on the bride's side; not nearly as well on the groom's side. 3- no working ice maker. Seriously? In the Keys? It's hot as all get out and there are two 1970-style ice cube trays. It is 2015. Who uses ice cube trays?? 4- we felt as if we were being yanked out of the house at check out time. There was literally a clean up crew standing at the door waiting to invade the house as we rolled out our luggage. Wow, don't let the door hit us on the way out! It gets worse. Before check out time, the grounds crew had already begun cleaning the outside of the house, including washing the windows. That was rather disarming to have window washers at the windows looking in as we are getting dressed to leave. Oh, and our goggles and snorkel equipment that they threw away at the pool? Not cool. The house definitely lost its special charm when we realized that they were just shipping one bride out to get the next one in. So much for the personal touch. Maybe don't book so tightly, Key Largo Lighthouse. And PS) there is no lighthouse. read more

It was so quiet, elegant, and tranquil...and we didn't even go inside the actual house! I attended a destination wedding a few weeks ago. The house was tucked away in a valley of trees which made me feel like I was swept away to a tropical location. The grounds were beautiful, the views were amazing and private. The sound of the busy street In front of the house were completely gone and replaced with the sounds of birds and water. It was just wonderful. The outside of the house was very retro and felt extremely beachy. It had a energy to it which made me feel extremely home-like and made me feel that many happy memories were made here. The open concept of the property was airy, open and made it possible for all of us to be in the same area without feeling cramped and uncomfortable. The décor was beautiful with the perfect touch of modern, beach zen meets vintage. I just wish the A/C was as airy and free flowing as the house layout. The bridal suite was an icebox when the other rooms were like a sweat shack in Mexico in the middle of summer. The fans in the rooms made it feel a little cheap and made me feel like we were in a No-Tell Motel not so much the Holiday Inn. The room off the kitchen was a nice area to have because of the bathroom and fridge. We didn't have to walk through the house and get sand and water all over it. But the one barely worked so we pretty much had to use ice for everything....and I mean everything. We had to do a lot of ice runs because there was no ice maker on the property that we could access. It was pretty unrelaxing to have to get dressed and get more ice. The grounds themselves were open and tropical and offered enough open spaces to do pretty much everything. The only downfall was that if we were on a boat or were a boat it was easy to get into the water. But as humans we had to jump off the pier, praying you didn't break anything when you hit the bottom, or cross the rocky shore to get water access. Needless to say I only entered the water twice, thank the lord for the pool! Every day, and I mean everyday, we had a random person walking around the grounds "cleaning' and "maintaining" the property. Which is nice but when your walking around half naked and trying to relax its hard to when you have random people looking at you. Thank god we were not a clothing optional wedding, they would have got an eye full. (Meant for humor) On the day of the wedding the venue was perfect, the pier isle was breath taking and the backdrop of the water was just amazing. Everything was at the venue and we had enough space to dance, laugh and relax. The only bad thing I witnessed was that there was a metal skewer sticking out of the sand on the day of the wedding. We were all barefoot walking around and grounds keeping was outside that morning cleaning the area. Just a little irritating when they are there for hours on end. The morning after the wedding the grounds keeping started breaking down everything very early in the morning, very early. I went outside to make sure we had not left anything outside from the evening before. They had already cleared most of the spaces and saw a few of our items in the garbage. Yes....the garbage. WHO THROWS THINGS AWAY WHEN YOUR STILL IN THE HOUSE??!!?? Not cute to dig through the trash in your PJs before coffee without sleep. Before we had everything packed up from our stay the clean up crew was inside cleaning the house while some of the guests were still in the shower. It is a horrible experience to be pushed and rushed out when we just celebrated the union of two souls. It was a swift butt kick back into reality. In closing, the experience was awesome. The ups and downs made it magical and made the wedding just an even more memorable experience. We made some awesome memories, new friends and have some amazing pictures. Any bride would be a fool to not look into the Key Largo Lighthouse for the wedding day just one small thing: there is no lighthouse. read more

Our visit was amazing. We really loved it and couldnt get enough of all the possibilities for our wedding. The house is beautiful, and we loved the laid back beachy feel. It is amazing property. And we would love to take your offer to switch from the lighthouse to this property. Im sad I wont have my lighthouse but the view and pier and overall excitement my fiance and i felt cant be passed up. Also, your property manager was awesome. I am so incredibly disappointed in this place. My wedding was scheduled to be held in November 2019. When we first found out about this place we fell in love. it was perfect and everything we wanted. However our photographer who is local let us know that they had some type of judge ruling about holding weddings on their property. They assured us that everything was fine and that we had nothing to worry about. Well about 3 months later we found out their appeal to continue to hold weddings was denied by the magistrate. We again waited for a final decision of their 2nd appeal just to be disappointed. We ultimately had to cancel our contact with them because they were ordered to stop hosting weddings after August 2019 and we feared that if we waited to long we would get screwed over. BE WEARY and do your research, if you have a wedding scheduled here any time soon or after August, make sure you know what's going on. I would hate to see someone get screwed over on their wedding day for not being kept informed by the venue. I'm just thankful we were able to get our money back. But we got screwed out of our original wedding date and had to scramble to find a new place. Also the property is for sale which was a HUGE red flag. We also felt that the property manager Linda was rude, when my fiancée and i went to visit the place , she seemed very put out that we had gone to the wrong side of the property, like we would know, we were visiting from Ohio. This review is just offered as a warning to those couples in the planning stages of their wedding and looking into Key Largo Lighthouse. My fiancé and I had found this beautiful venue online and reached out to the owner Mariana. A contract was provided by Mariana for us to sign but it included an $1800 non-refundable deposit that we would have to make site unseen. We were reluctant to do that, as most couples should be, and asked Mariana if we could fly down from NY for a tour. Working with her to ensure we were not conflicting with onsite guests, she confirmed a Thursday appointment at 2:30 in three weeks from the day. Subsequent to her confirming this, we booked plane tickets from NY to Miami and hotels to coincide with this scheduled visit. Two days prior to our scheduled tour, I emailed Mariana to reconfirm and she stated that the tour was cancelled. Essentially she said that because we asked if the price was negotiable, she decided to cancel the tour. I honestly thought she was just mistaken with her timeline so I resent her copies of our email correspondence with timestamps that first showed us asking about negotiable price, her saying no, and us stating that we were ok with price as discussed and would like to schedule the tour. Subsequent to that exchange, she finally granted us the tour when I told her all we wanted to do was ensure the venue looked as beautiful in person as it did online and would be willing to give the deposit on the spot during our tour if that was the case. Despite this, she still said the tour was cancelled and began responding with generic copy/pasted responses not even addressing the issue. I requested a phone call with her but she would not speak via phone. I explained that we spent $1000 in flights and hotels and took Thursday/Friday off of work specifically to visit her venue on those days because she confirmed the tour and all I received was generic responses and a refusal to speak with me by phone. This review is mainly to make other couples wary of flying down there and this site-unseen non refundable deposit if they are in a similar situation. I cant really comment on the venue itself other than to say it looks beautiful online but we never got the chance to see it in person. Thankfully, we were able to schedule last minute tours of other venues while we were down there and our 200 person wedding will take place at a much more gracious and professional venue. read more

Key Largo Lighthouse is absolutely amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue. We had a destination wedding and booked the property without visiting first. We held both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding here. The property and the house are absolutely beautiful! The house is large and very clean. The property is very well taken care of and the way everything is set up was perfect! Lynda, the property manager, was wonderful. She was there for everything that we needed and was so sweet and welcoming. Our guests and anyone who sees our photos mentions how beautiful it is and have all said it was the best wedding they have every been too. I cannot say enough good things about the Key Largo Lighthouse Beach, it was much more than we could have imagined it would be. We wanted a place to go where our entire family and friends could spend time together and we were able to stay at the house for a couple days before and after the wedding which made our wedding even more special.
