I've heard of Light House in Harlem plenty of times and finally got the chance to stop by. Before anything you must know. It's CASH Only. They went all out on the interior. It has a nice aquatic vibe all throughout the restaurant with different rooms to dine in. I started with the seafood platter. For $60, you get a whole tray full of crab legs, lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, corn, and potatoes. I'm not a big seafood boil person but this one was valid. I enjoyed it. It was random but they also have popcorn but it was good so I'm not complaining. Then I ordered the popular honey garlic wings with the trifecta: Mac & cheese, candied yams, and collard greens. The wings were crispy and fresh. Plus the honey garlic sauce was really good. I understand the hype. I seen the lobster fries all over my feed so I ordered them. They use thick cut fries and the lobster on top is creamy. For my second platter I got Catfish with steamed cabbage and potato salad. You can tell they freshly fry the fish. Plus the batter is seasoned well. The cabbage lowkey has a kick which I liked and the potato salad has a subtle sweetness. I'm not mad at it though. Lastly I ordered the lobster Mac. Coated with a whole layer of cheese. You get lobster bits all throughout. Service was good. My husband and I went to the restaurant after seeing the IG hype, but this was the worst experience ever! First, when you walk in, the front of the restaurant is takeout, and the actual restaurant is further in the back. Our plan was to sit in the actual restaurant and eat. As we went to the area to be seated, there was a sign that stated "Cash Only". When we asked the hostess, if they took credit cards for takeout, with an attitude she stated, "Yes, but you can't order takeout, and then try to sit in the restaurant and eat." It wasn't what she said, but the attitude in which she said it. And the sit in part of the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty! Therefore, we decided to get takeout, and this is when the experience went from mediocre to HORRIBLE. After ordering our food, which totaled to $105 and change (we ordered the stuffed lobster tail with two sides, the deep fried catfish with two sides, fish and chips, and two blue lemonades). There is a sign that stated that all fried food will be cooked first, due to steamed food taking a little longer. Therefore, we expected a wait of approximately 20 minutes. However, we waited for over 40 minutes, and during that wait time, we saw the cook line being unprofessional, laughing and joking, talking over the food, the bartender came to order catfish and was served before the waiting customers, garbage was being brought from the back through the waiting area which is beyond unsanitary (the Department of Health definitely needs to pay this establishment a visit)! We saw that our food was ready, but instead of the cashier letting us know, we literally had to ask for it due to the entire front line piss poor customer service. Once we got home to sit down to eat, the food was mediocre. The stuff lobster, wasn't stuffed, it was just topped with a mushy crab cake. The fish was fried a little too hard. The mac and cheese was on the dry side, but the candied yams and the blue lemonade was good. This place should be totally revamped, or completely shut down! Management definitely should have the staff to go through customer service training, because employees are the face of your establishment. Also, with the cash only policy, I wonder if ALL of the employees are working there legally, or being paid under the table. Which would explain why management doesn't have a problem with the piss poor attitude of the staff. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! read more

I used to go to the original Lighthouse in West Harlem quite a bit, until a friend of mine who used to go there passed away and it just made me too sad to go. Recently Lighthouse popped up in my Uber Eats suggestions and I tapped on it and found this store in East Harlem, so figured I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! Their catfish in particular is my favorite. The regular Mac & cheese is so good, and the candied yams are good as well. The portions are generous, and deliveries have been very fast. I'll definitely be trying more from the menu as time goes on, and I'm glad that I'm able to eat with this brand again and not feel sad about my friend. In fact, they make me very happy! One thing I enjoyed about the West Harlem store Is that it was always very clean and neat. I haven't been into this location yet, but I'm going to assume that it's the same. I stopped by this Harlem spot after seeing it all over Instagram, hoping it would live up to the hype. Sadly, it didn't. I ordered the crab legs, Henny mac and cheese, and calamari totaling about $80 for takeout, which already felt steep. The crab legs had a nice seasoning, and the corn and potatoes were generously coated in it, which made for a flavorful bite. But extracting the crab meat was a chore every crack seemed to shred it into frustrating little pieces. The much-hyped Henny mac and cheese was a miss for me. I couldn't detect any Hennessy flavor, and whatever flavor was there felt oddly off-balance. The calamari fared worst: overcooked, underseasoned, and dry. One more thing worth noting: if you want to sit inside, the prices are even higher, yet there's nowhere to sit outside either, which makes the whole setup feel confusing and frustrating. I have no idea why there's a different price for dining in. I really wanted this to be one of those spots I'd rave about, but instead I left feeling disappointed especially given the price and the hype. read more

Stopped by the lighthouse after a late concert..my friend wanted pizza, I squashed that idea and headed to the lighthouse I've heard so much about. They did not disappoint..we both ordered catfish with French fries. Yum and yum. He started eating in the car, but me being a lady I waited till I reached home..everything thing was so good and honestly one serving is enough to serve 2 in my opinion.. I love how big this place is because you don't realize it until you go inside . The music that plays in the back You don't hear at alll in the front! The blue lighting is cool but I would like to be able to actually see my food when it's served. The Mac and cheese portions are HUGE. They should add a disclaimer on the menu for that. I tried the lobster Mac ( I felt it could've been more lobster inside ) and the jerk chicken Mac. I had the stuffed salmon which was big as well. So portion size 10/10. I don't feel it was stuffed as much but overall it was big. I also enjoyed the mash and collards. I tried their signature lighthouse drink. The dj in the back is good as well. On 4/18/26 I was taken out to dinner by my Godson at the Lighthouse on 117th St.,in Harlem. The food was good,the ambiance was good. However the Service was severely lacking. After waiting to be seated when we had reservations, we then were given water and 2 pieces of garlic toast. After about 15 minutes our order was taken. We the sat for an hour before getting our food. While sitting there not once did anyone ask if we were ok or needed anything. There was only 1 waitress serving the whole back where people with reservations were seated. I attribute this to Poor Management. I would never recommend this restaurant for eat in dining to anyone and will never go there again! read more

Popped in today for brunch after my nephew's graduation. First thing I'll say is this is not a brunch place. This is a place for evening as such the service was a bit slow in the beginning. We were a party of eight and they did take gratuities upfront. Let me stop here to let you know that this is a cash only establishment. Something we were not aware of. Once the service got going, everything was quite good. The one thing I will tell you not to order is the cake -the whole cakes do not taste your time or money and they charge $70 for the cake; otherwise Jonathan and his entire team was fantastic. We enjoyed the vibe and the energy of the place and once the food arrived everything was quite good and as you will see, we had a little bit of everything. I love the fact that anything we were dissatisfied with Jonathan handled expeditiously and that is the reason for the four star rating. I have no doubt that if I came here at night when the vibe is alive that this might be a five rating. So i came here this weekend for a birthday dinner. This spot is cash only. Drinks were $20 a pop (for a drink in a plastic cup), plastic utensils, and a napkin dispenser. They created a space where you can dine in the back which was decorated nicely. But, the service was abysmal. The food was okay. I ordered crab cakes, mac and cheese and candied yams. The Mac was great. The crab cake were okay, and the yams were also okay. They had a pre fix menu for parties over 6 i believe. The options weren't plentiful, but it did what it needed. The pre fix menu comes with 2 pitchers of an alcoholic punch. The dj on Saturday was great. Will i come back, probably not. It left a little to be desired. We had a party of 9, and they don't take reservations, we had to wait super long for a waitress, food and drinks. No water was offered to us. Plastic everything! But, we made the best of it. They also had a cake cutting fee of $45 for plastic utensils that you get from the dollar tree. Whew! Talk about a swindle lol For a $95 dinner, i expected so much more. See pics below read more

Stumbled on the restaurant after an accidental trip to Costco when the store was closed, but I can feel good about it because of the delicious seafood! The restaurant seems to be new given the balloons everywhere, and the decor is also nice. The inside is a bit dark during the day time however, so maybe better for a date. My niece saw Lighthouse Fish Market on IG and wanted to come with friends prior to their departures for college. We planned to dine-in on a Sunday at 6pm. Like some other venues, reservations aren't accepted on the weekend. You will pass the take-out counter and bypass the people waiting when you walk in. We were approached by the hostess and were lucky to not have a wait for a table of 7. The dining room has an open floor plan. It is a fun / lounge like ambiance with a DJ and available hookahs. We ordered a variety of meals from the menu and everyone was satisfied. From what I remember we had: crab cakes, chicken wings, catfish, crab legs, dip, pasta, cabbage, and candied yams. My catfish was freshly fried, lightly coated, seasoned well and not salty. I don't know who makes the cabbage but they are good! I wanted to drink the juice. To go takes card but if you're dining in bring at least 100 bucks because they include 20% tip on your bill and if you eat plenty like me and my friends you're gonna need to bring all the coin. A plate with two sides is gonna run you an average of 28 bucks but they really don't skimp on those sides. The Mac and cheese was admittedly the least impressive of the three sides I tried. The garlic mashed potatoes had a little bit of skin and nice flavor and the Mac salad really surprised us with the tuna that was included (for some reason that wasn't mentioned on the menu). The garlic salmon was BEAUTIFUL, nicely cooked, no fishy taste or smell, good garlic buttery flavor, whereas the catfish was just okay, kinda skinny and a little dry with little flavor. Go for the salmon!!!! Also tried the banana pudding cake which was pretty good and pretty hefty for about 7 bucks. The frosting didn't taste too much like banana pudding but was enjoyable nonetheless. I would be interested in trying another flavor next time. There's not much to say ....but what I will say is ....you have to go. I have been now four times, and I have basically gotten the same thing each time. The first time I went, I was left in aww. I went back twice after the first time, and while the food was not as great as the first, it was still really good. Good enough that I would still give it a great review. The fourth time I went OMG the food was on point.....equally or maybe even better than the first time. I would like to note the first and fourth time the food came out very quick and it was extremely hot and fresh. Both of these times were on a weekday. Who comes to a fish spot and orders wings. I do and they were great. Fried well seasoned well and great service. For some take out and busted it down when I got in. Few days later we went back and got two take out plates. Fred fish. Flounder and tilapia fries Mac and cheese. Macaroni salad. The Mac and cheese def above average. Lots of cheese good flavors, the macaroni salad creamy nice tasting. The fish was fried perfectly but they lacked seasoning that the wings didn't. That's the only reason I didn't give them five stars. The service was also great I love when a restaurant makes a mistake and they notice it before you do. The guy literally ran down the block to give us our Mac salad. One thing don't expect to order and ur food just pops up, you know the old saying good things comes to those that wait. Okay east side! Yup this lighthouse is better than the west side. The food is better, the staff is interactive. The vibe is better. The storefront is sleeker. You can smell the hookah in the back , the laughs being recorded for instagram. The wings being tossed. That Mac and cheese being scooped!!! Very consistent. When I'm feeling risky I take the trip here lol. Damn the wings dinner is the one. My only critique is the dessert I wish they had butter cake but this is new school soul food you can't have it all I guess. That blue juice tho! I thought that I would possibly be able to eat half, because I was hungry, not realizing how big the portion was going to be. Stumbled across this gem while walking around with a friend in Harlem. When you first enter, you can order take out from the counter. If you walk towards the back, you can sit in the restaurant and order with waitstaff. What I loved about this place is the vibe...the decor is perfect to celebrate a birthday, perfect backgrounds for selfies, and the music had us dancing in our seats! The food portions are pretty big so definitely think about sharing. We ordered the shrimp linguini Alfredo, Rasta Pasta, seafood platter and fried shrimp and wing dinner. When they brought the linguini to the table the first bite was Legitimately HEAVEN! And for it to be only $20 it was a HEAFTY portion! Sadly I made a mistake and ate the rasta pasta thinking it was my linguini and I had to give the meal to its rightful owner but when I did get my shrimp linguini it was amazing as well but not as amazing as the rasta pasta! For sides I chose Mac and cheese and French fries. The wings can be fried or you can choose a flavor so I chose honey bbq. The food was very fresh and came piping hot. I was so full and couldn't even finish my meal. I ate the shrimp and one wing and half of the sides and was bloated. The drink was good, sneaks up on you. The frozen drink machine wasn't working so although I ordered a frozen margarita, it can liquidity. They also serve hookah but I didn't have any so not sure how it is but a few tables did get the hookah. 20% gratuity was included in the check which I didn't care for as I prefer to leave my own tip. I just visited this location for the first time. My mom has been mentioning this place to me for sometime. She decided to host an event here so i finally got to experience it for myself. This place is GREAT. The staff is nothing short of amazing. Jonathan is one of the waiters and he was extremely accommodating and nice. From the front, this place is quite deceiving. You think its a traditional seafood market but in the back, its a full restaurant, with an amazing ambiance. The decor is beautiful. The space in the back is quite spacious. You can dress up or down. It's such a laid back vibe. The DJ was on point. We visited on a Wednesday and the music was lit. He put on so many jams, my mom and her friends were so happy. I can see multiple age groups loving the vibe here, anyone from 25 to 70. The menu is pretty large and caters to alot of people. Since my mom was hosting a party, she opted for the $60 per person menu. It included a appetizer and entree. The food was on point. I have nothing bad to say here. We had a mix of items but they included, shrimp empanadas, chicken empanadas, chicken wings, salmon, shrimp, fried fish, collard greens, mac and cheese, candied yams and cabbage. Literally everything was delicious. The greens were so flavorful and did include smoked meat. The mac was creamy and cheesy. The empanadas were delicious, especially the shrimp one. The fish and shrimp were fried to perfection and tasty. The salmon was nice big filets, it was juicy and tasty. When the meals came, everyone was silent. The food stole the show for those few minutes. We brought our own cake which the staff in the restaurant was aokay with. They provided us with extra plates to serve it. They use plastic plates, cups and utensils here. Honestly, im not mad at it. It keeps there food prices lower and helps keep the service faster. I am not mad at it. My mom preordered two containers of shirley temple and one pitcher of tequila punch, it was blue. The pitchers are the WORST. That was my only complaint. We spilled most of the drink, trying to fill a cup. They need to put the drinks into different containers, those pitchers are not it. After cutting the cake, the staff surprised my mom with sparklers, a sign that said "shine the light on em", a bottle of champagne. They did a phenomenal job of making her feel amazing. Since my mom visits there often, they knew her and know she just survived open heart surgery. They made it their business to make this event special for her. I am beyond appreciative of them for this gesture. She cried for like 10 minutes. This was a beautiful surprise to end the evening. Overall this place is amazing.
