This cozy little place is family owned and operated. Service could not have been any better! We weren't looking for big meals so we stuck with a few options from the tapas menu. They do have entrees too. Prices were reasonable for the size of the dishes and food was all tasty! They also have a full bar and hookahs on certain nights. Definitely will be back when we're in the area again. Although parking on Arthur Ave is hit or miss street parking in the immediate area is easy to find. There is also a municipal lot a block over.

Customers can pick out their seafood themselves, using plastic baskets to hold, then take to the counter in the back to purchase. Another option is to have your purchase cooked for takeout. Seafood can be fried or steamed, with various vegetables (eg, carrots, potatoes, broccoli, corn, etc) as potential add-ons in the back counter display case. This option takes an approximate additional 15 minutes. Tough to fit into a typical workday, but it's a treat. The seasoning (generous amount of Old Bay with butter) is simple but spot on, the seafood cooked well and just right. Fried seafood is crisp and lightly breaded. Vegetables are not overdone, including broccoli that is just tender. There isn't space to eat in the market, so all purchases are takeout only. Prices are very fair; a small broiled whole snapper, a few shrimp, and corn and broccoli clocked in at $12. The seafood is very fresh too. A great stop for a seafood deal anytime.

So many choices-salmon, escoveitch seafood, fried fish, seafood rice etc. I ordered fried, white fish and seafood rice to go. The portions were generous and the rice was filled with all the right ingredients. The taste though??? Everything tasted like it had been sitting in warming trays for 24 hrs. Rice and fish were really dried out. Hot sauce and tartar sauce (from fish market on the corner) didn't help to make it taste any better. I'd go back again, earlier in the day when the food trays are being replenished. I would probably go for made to order seafood, instead of the the food that's just sitting. Gallego wasn't a total NO. A second chance is possible.
