Hosted my birthday dinner here this year and had a delightful time. Although it was just one of my closest friends and I, we had a delicious dinner. For appetizers, we ordered the popcorn shrimp. We each had a cocktail until our entrée arrived. I had the branzino with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My friend had the lamp chops and devoured it. We were the last reservation that night, so it wasn't crowded. We were able to get some great photos of the aesthetic. Unfortunately, the kitchen closed before we were able to place our order for dessert. It was my birthday, and I felt like they could have given us a pass. Especially since dessert is something that you don't cook. I can see myself coming back here for brunch one day but not for dinner unless I'm here for a special occasion. read more

The first time I came here was for a Yelp event! I loved it so much, I brought back several friends. However, we were really disappointed in the service. While waiting for everyone to show up, we grabbed drinks at the bar. The bartender made my cocktail and placed it on someone else's used disgusting napkin. I had a reservation for Sunday May 3 at 8pm for my birthday dinner. Lighthouse Rooftop cancelled it with zero explanation and no way to rebook since all slots are now gone. I called and left a voicemail -- no response. This restaurant cancelled my birthday plans and left me with nothing. No accountability, no communication, no solution. Would not recommend booking here if you have anything important planned. UPDATE: The business responded but their explanation does not hold up. Their own Resy calendar shows May 10, 17, and 24 all open -- May 3 is the only Sunday blacked out with no closed indicator. If they were truly closed, their booking platform should show it clearly. This was my birthday dinner and I deserved basic transparency. Additionally, they claimed to have attempted to contact me, which is false. I received zero calls, zero texts, and zero emails from them PRIOR to the cancellation. This is an integrity issue! read more

The place is super cute! the decor is really nice and the lady serving upside down nice touch. The views are superb honestly really great space. The food was pretty delicious, I had the burger and it was juice and had a lot of flavor. The fries were just a tad spicy nothing too crazy which was a great touch. My husband had the steak and eggs I tried it and the steak was also very good, not as good as the burger. Mixed reviews around the table for the steak. The appetizers were actually the highlight when it came to food in my opinion. Now for the not so good... The mimosa were horrible, they were room temperature and my husband and someone else in our group were sick the next day. I did not have any of the mimosas and I was not sick! They also were serving white sangria if you want a sugar rush I would have it, it was horrible!!! The drinks for the brunch were the very worst part of the experience. We had a 5pm reservation and it was packed with drunk people. I think they had unlimited mimosa or something. It is a overpriced place. Food was okay, nothing extraordinary. We ordered a side order of sausage and the server told us that it comes 2pcs in a order and was $10. As you can see in the picture, when the order came it was one piece sausage cut it in half and charged us $10. So, i would say their food was not worth the price. Come here for the views, definitely. You need to make reservations online, they don't accept it via phone call. You also have to use a credit card to make reservations however they don't use the card on file to charge it once you are done. So my question is why do they need it on file? That is annoying. Also, the brunch menu is limited with COMMON food items that doesn't make it stand out from regular restaurants in Astoria. The drinks were pretty good. The waitress took a while most times to check on our table. I was excited to visit this restaurant because I came here last year for a great Yelp elite event but this time around it was lack luster. I had original ordered a parfet but they didn't have any berries or yogurt so I had to get the French toast. Lets talk about this place . I came here last night on a whim . After getting to our table my date forgot something in the car and had to go back downstairs to grab it . Hubby and I had dinner here recently. The venue is spacious with super high ceilings and intimate setting. Good for date night and they have outdoor seatings with a view in warmer months. We start off with Shrimp Tempura Tacos which was alright. I ordered the Wild Salmon and hubby opted for the Bourbon Burger. The burger was pretty good and juicy, but my salmon was lacking flavor. I attended a birthday party here for a girlfriend in a Saturday night. We had a ball! There were about 20 of us and we were seated in the mezz level. The place is gorgeous and the floor to ceiling views are breathtaking. The entertainment was a whole vibe. I'm talking Aerialists and Carnivale and Drummers and live DJ. We were out our seats a lot just jamming. We were a large party so it took a while to get through our service- we were there just over 3 hours. Not once were we bored though. The venue is very nice. It's an extremely large venue with upstairs and downstairs seating. They can accommodate large parties. There is also outdoor seating which is great for wormer weather. Service is slow. They seemed to have a lot of staff but they don't seem to be zoned appropriately to cover all of the tables. We waited 20 minutes to be greeted and offered water. Entrees came out at a decent pace. When looking for a server to order additional items, it was very difficult. Management did begin to walk around to greet tables in the latter end of the night. I do want to state that our waiter was very kind and helpful when we did get to speak with him. We also had a substantial amount of food remaining from apps and the buser kept trying to remove the dishes. Our entrees were coming out, but we were still working on apps and would have preferred to leave it on the table. Ceviche mixto is just okay. Lamb chops are flavorful. We went to Lighthouse Rooftop in Queens Blvd, Sunnyside last night to celebrate my friend's daughter, visiting from out of town. I thought a neighborhood rooftop would make for a nice experience after their long day in the city but quite the opposite. First, we asked for regular water but were brought still water which seemed bubblish and before we could say anything the server cracked it open and poured it. That should've been the first red flag. The real shock came when the bill arrived: a whole list of additional and unexpected charges including service fee for a party of only three, extra for already overpriced drinks and a credit card fee. Really??? For a place that presents itself as "upscale," place that was surprising, even my corner bodega doesn't charge a credit card fee. What made it worse is that none of these extra charges were disclosed. No signs posted anywhere, nothing mentioned by the server, no heads-up when we placed our order or handed over the card . When I asked the manager, his response was simply, "It's on our website." Seriously! I don't know but feels like a violation of basic consumer protection practices. As for their "birthday celebration" experience it was nothing more than a single sparkling candle. Talk about thoughtfulness- felt like a complete ripoff. Not worth it and definitely not a place I'll ever return to. Nothing against the servers, most likely they might just be following house rules and Im sure they understand cause we topped up with additional cash tips but they should know but if this continues they will lose customers. read more

This is my third time here, but I am writing a review because I came with someone different and had a full-blown meal and not for an event. I really wanted to come here and give a solid 5 review, but the service and the timing of the meals were off. I would expect the cerviche to come ahead of the main dish, but somehow it came waayy at the end. The menu did change this time around. For a place that charges gratuity, I would think that service would be impeccable. It was a bit lacking. I've been to other places where service is so great, and they don't charge for tip as I feel it is earned. I guess you're paying for the atmosphere of the rooftop. Also, the bathroom needs a total cleaning and a revamp. Anyways, for the food, I tried different items such as sweet plantains, which was really good. The truffle mash potatoes were impeccable, and I would order this again. The guacamole and chips tasted alright. Nothing that special about it. The champagne pear dessert was very different from any dessert that I had. You can definitely taste the alcohol in it. I'm going back for a baby shower during the afternoon on a weekend. Saturday brunch 2 people in April. Too cold for outdoor seating but nice enough to hang out outside after brunch to take in the lovely views and take photos. Brunch is normally 1.5 hours. We were there yesterday and enjoyed Belated Birthday Brunch from the later afternoon and decided to stay to enjoy the dj and some of their fabulous guacamole & chips as well as chicken wings during the beginning of dinner service. Lighthouse Rooftop is on East 37th Street in the Long Island City section of Queens. Once you get into the building, you have to walk in the lobby towards the elevator, press to go up to Lighthouse Rooftop and a hostess is there near the elevator who confirms your reservation and another individual seats you at your table. Lighthouse Rooftop is spacious enough yet gives a quaint, cozy vibe. Lighthouse Rooftop provides a lively, comfortable atmosphere and allows you to partake of their being surrounded by gorgeous skyline views. During brunch service, the sun penetrated through their fabulous windows, and it was equally as amazing to view buildings lit up in the distance as the sunset and day tuned into nighttime. There are lounge areas as well as standard table / seating arrangements w/ a mixture of some cloth chairs as well as leather chairs. Brunch - We had French Toast w / cream & berries and sides of chicken sausage. Bottomless options include either the "Espresso Martini, Sangria & Mimosa" 60-minute package ($20) or the "Sangria & Mimosa" 60-minute package ($15). Brunch Entrees vary between the $20 - upper $30 dollar range. The Red Wine Sangrias, White Wine Sangrias & Mimosas were all good, and both the French Toast and sausage tasted light and delicious. Came here for NYE because I didn't want to travel all the way to the city so when we heard about this rooftop lounge opening up in sunnyside / LIC area -- we thought why not give it a try?! The place itself is very spacious, includes a second floor. Sadly it was cold out, but the rooftop had a beautiful view and I could totally see myself coming over the Summer to enjoy it. The drinks were strong & they passed around some appetizers - the cuisine is "Mexican and Japanese flavor collide" which included octopus, guac, tacos, sushi, etc which were all very fresh & tasty! This time my table did the bottomless brunch, and I was shocked by the price! I swear in the past it was $15 for mimosas/sangria, and $20 if you wanted to include espresso martinis. Now it's $40 and $60 respectively! I'm sorry, that's just highway robbery. I will say, they keep them coming and they aren't strict on the time limit. But I came in excited for the espresso martinis.. when I saw the price, I said no way! I came here 11/16 to celebrate my boyfriend's s and I birthday. I love the ambiance of this place, dimly lit, huge but still feels intimate. They have two floors and an outside area. I had a prix fixe birthday dinner here in June. Overall the views were beautiful, you could directly see the NYC skyline. They also had a show (kind of burlesque vibes) around 9pm which was a nice touch. However, I will say at basically $100 per person, the amount of food they gave to feed 11 people could have been a bit more. It also didn't include any fountain drinks which was unfortunate because some people in my party didn't drink and we had to pay additional out of pocket costs. The food was tasty however which was a plus. I would definitely return but wouldn't necessarily recommend the prix fixe option for larger birthday parties. read more

Gorgeous place. It's Labor Day weekend and they had a dancer she was great and the crowd was perfect for the vibes. I noticed a second floor above ;very cool. and extra seating at the terrace. You can grab a drink and walk around the outside area. But can't sit at any tables or patio chairs without reservations. They're watching. Haha which is fine. The bar seating is nice .
