I ordered the mild tofu soup with pork and beef, and it was absolutely delicious. The banchan was just as impressive, especially the kimchi, which tasted fresh, crisp, and fragrant. I left feeling very full and satisfied. The interior is designed with traditional Korean-inspired elements, from the roof details to the window decoration throughout the dining room. My only downside was the service. I dined alone and couldn't help but notice the tables around me received more attention, including more banchan refills. Many say this spot is better than the Annandale location. Idk it seems to taste the same for me. The combination tofu soup medium spice always does the job. First had this dish over a decade ago and the price keeps going up--I know that's just inflation for you. The reason I dropped my rating was actually because of the "Angry Chicken" I kept seeing so many photos of it on Yelp which made me order it. The chicken did not have any attractive, char flavor to it... a bit mushy and it really relies on the spice. I don't think it should cost $20 and yes very overhyped. Mushroom tofu soup - surprisingly I think this is actually the best of the tofu soups since even though I love meat, the meat tends to get very dry and kinda flavorless in these soups but mushrooms always stays juicy! I got spicy and it was a good level, maybe could be a bit spicier but I have a feeling the next level will probably be too spicy so I'll probably stick with this level. A little too much tofu, although it's so soft and good, I feel like I wanted more soup so I could be drinking more and adding more flavor. We've been to the other locations and just decided to try the one in Centreville but we'll be returning to the one in annandale if we want lighthouse tofu again. We order the seafood pancake, which was burnt and did not have much seafood. It was more breading than seafood. We also ordered 3 soon dubus which were not hot enough to cook the eggs. What is happening here??! The egg was still raw by the end of the meal so I scooped it out onto a plate where the egg white is still slimy. Not my idea of appetizing. The older lady waitress was so kind and even brought me a bib so I wouldn't mess up my shirt, which made me smile. Little touches like that go a long way. Probably the best soondubu place in the Fairfax area I think. There is Lighthouse in Annandale and I think they are related but not sure. But if I'm in Centreville and craving some tofu soup, I come here. The spicy combination is my favorite and I sometimes get the combo with beef short ribs galbi. It's about $30 for the combo and $17 for just the tofu soup dinner prices. The seafood pancake is really good too. They also give you the crispy rice with hot water after they scrap out the fresh for you. Definitely recommend this place for soondubu! I also really like their kimchi, it tastes so good. Interesting restaurant with main dish consist of Tofu Soup. We got variations of the tofu soup and angry chicken. Start by saying the angry chicken is spicy. You feel it 10 sec afterwards. Be prepare if you are getting it. The Tofu soup is an interesting dish. The variation is just extra meat but not a lot extra. I got the seafood with shrimp, mussels, and clams.
