Lighthouse Tofu was such a satisfying meal! The food was flavorful, comforting, and had the perfect spicy kick. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the tofu soup had that deep, rich flavor that makes you want to keep going back for another spoonful.
Mushroom tofu soup - surprisingly I think this is actually the best of the tofu soups since even though I love meat, the meat tends to get very dry and kinda flavorless in these soups but mushrooms always stays juicy! I got spicy and it was a good level, maybe could be a bit spicier but I have a feeling the next level will probably be too spicy so I'll probably stick with this level. A little too much tofu, although it's so soft and good, I feel like I wanted more soup so I could be drinking more and adding more flavor. Slightly bland but the mushrooms help to make up for it 2.5/5 Bibimbap - galbi is soft and yummy, overall a solid yummy bibimbap! Even though there's some crispy parts the rice did feel a bit on soggier side. 2.75/5
I've come here a number of times, and the food is great every time - nice and simple. You know a spot is good when the kimchi is 10/10. Service is normal like all the restaurants in the area. Simple wooden interior with a pretty vertical layout. Plenty of seating for large groups and lots of parking outside. Highly recommend the combo meal options. Can't go to a tofu place without trying the tofu.
We very much enjoyed the soon dobu here but that was about it. Everything else could use improvement. The staff just looks angry at you for even walking in, def not "inviting". We've been to the other locations and just decided to try the one in Centreville but we'll be returning to the one in annandale if we want lighthouse tofu again. We order the seafood pancake, which was burnt and did not have much seafood. It was more breading than seafood. We also ordered 3 soon dubus which were not hot enough to cook the eggs. What is happening here??! The egg was still raw by the end of the meal so I scooped it out onto a plate where the egg white is still slimy. Not my idea of appetizing. There's enough restaurants in the centreville ktown area that would be better on several levels.
Stopped by Lighthouse Tofu and ordered the combo tofu soup with beef and seafood. It came piping hot with a raw egg to mix in and a great spread of banchan on the side. Everything was really good--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Service was warm and thoughtful too. The older lady waitress was so kind and even brought me a bib so I wouldn't mess up my shirt, which made me smile. Little touches like that go a long way. Will definitely be back for another comforting bowl of tofu soup.
Probably the best soondubu place in the Fairfax area I think. There is Lighthouse in Annandale and I think they are related but not sure. But if I'm in Centreville and craving some tofu soup, I come here. The spicy combination is my favorite and I sometimes get the combo with beef short ribs galbi. It's about $30 for the combo and $17 for just the tofu soup dinner prices. The seafood pancake is really good too. They also give you the crispy rice with hot water after they scrap out the fresh for you. Definitely recommend this place for soondubu! I also really like their kimchi, it tastes so good. Service is great and the Korean language on the wallpaper is interesting too.
My friend recommended Lighthouse Tofu as a spot to meet for lunch, and it ended up being a great choice. Just a heads up that parking is a bit limited behind the building, but once you're inside, the space opens up it's surprisingly roomy and comfortable. This is definitely a no-frills, simple Korean restaurant, but everything felt clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms. The menu is very affordable, and the food was good exactly what you want from a casual tofu house. The staff was friendly, patient, and answered all of our questions before taking our order. Service was quick and straightforward, matching the low-key vibe of the place. Overall, it's a solid spot for an easy, affordable lunch with good food and no fuss. I'd go back!

The staff made a soup out of rice from the bottom of the pot after serving us our portions for the meal, but we weren't big fans of that.

The decor looks like there was some effort initially, but a little bit worn out over time. It's still reasonably clean! The tofu soup is the best in the area, too, according to the folks who ordered it in my group. I tried it and it's alright, but again it's not my thing. The bibimbap and kimchi alone I'd come back for. The kimchi here is so good. You could tell it's made by someone who knows what she's doing. It's not too hard or too sour like the ones you can buy from Lotte. It's spiced just right. The pickled veggies given here are also the best you can get. I know I'm hyping up the side dishes, but they are really that good. They definitely elevate the overall experience one notch up when I was already happy with the bibimbap and its crispy rice crust on the bottom!

This is my first time at the Centreville location! I came here with a bigger group this past Sunday for lunch. The variety of banchan is the same as the Annandale location. However, I didn't like the kimchi here as much. I like that they do pour barley tea over the hot stone rice bowl at this location! BEEF INTESTINE TOFU SOUP - 15.99 Unless it's completely new, I don't think this is an option at the Annandale location. I got this with medium spice, and it was spicier than I thought it would be. There was plenty of gopchang, spring onions and onions. It was a thick and flavorful stew, but I thought it was too salty. I ate majority of my rice and still had maybe a third of my soondubu left. Overall, decent and hit the spot, but too much sodium. Overall, solid spot for soondubu. Glad to have finally tried the Centreville location, and now I can compare the stew across both locations!

Be prepare if you are getting it. The Tofu soup is an interesting dish. The variation is just extra meat but not a lot extra. I got the seafood with shrimp, mussels, and clams. There are other dishes that I would definitely try if I go back. Not a fancy restaurant and service is minimal. The side dishes are excellent especially the bean sprout. Probably the best seasoned bean sprouts I've eaten side dishes wise.
A very cozy Korean restaurant. We were able to get a table for 6 during lunch time on a Sunday. The workers were very nice to us - they were very patient as we were looking at the menu and trying to order. I got the mul-naengmyon, which is my favorite entree to get during the summer time. Their mul-naengmyon was different as it had shredded seaweed - I never seen that before but it added a nice flavor to it. The galbi was very tender and not dry at all. I wish I had discovered this place sooner! They serve some of the fluffiest tofu soups, arriving at the table bubbling hot. I ordered the mild tofu soup with pork and beef, and it was absolutely delicious. The banchan was just as impressive, especially the kimchi, which tasted fresh, crisp, and fragrant. I left feeling very full and satisfied. The interior is designed with traditional Korean-inspired elements, from the roof details to the window decoration throughout the dining room. My only downside was the service. I dined alone and couldn't help but notice the tables around me received more attention, including more banchan refills. When it was time to pay, I stood at the register for a bit before someone acknowledged me. Thankfully, the food more than made up for it, and I'll definitely be back. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner the other night and it was very good vibes. The restaurant itself is quite large with ample seating, the smell of the food is intoxicating once you step in and you are greeted eagerly from the grandmas running the shop. We each ordered a tofu soup and got a seafood Pajeon to share. The Pajeon was crispy and the seafood was evenly cooked. The soups each came with a raw egg that you add at your discretion. The rice is served fresh with one pot per table. They also give the crusted rice with barley tea to end the meal. Similar to BCD tofu house in NY with better flavor. read more

Food was great. I got gopchang and it was on point today. Service was great haha since it was not too packed. Ambiance the same typical Korean restaurant. Cville store is owned by different owner from the Annandale location. Only cville does gopchang tofu soup I believe. read more

Lighthouse COULD get 4 stars but the service is so bad. The main lady who takes your orders acts like she cannot be bothered. I saw some other people talk about the dirty looks they get when there and we have also experienced the same. This was our go to spot for Korean comfort food. The food is pretty great and one of the top places in the area to go to. Recently tried Hankki and can honestly say we will no longer go back to lighthouse. Customer service goes a long way and things like messing up our order etc can totally be overlooked and not super important but giving dirty looks and acting like you're disgusted with customers is not okay. read more

Love love love Lighthouse Tofu. This is a go-to place for hot soup, has an easy menu, and pleases most people. They're very popular when the weather is cold out so it's a bit hard to find a table, it's even busy on occasion in the summer. It's located in an area with lots of parking, there's a lot of seating inside, and the service is quick. There's no obvious place to make a reservation, but you can call them or have Google Assistant do it for you if you have a larger party. I always order the kimchi and beef soup and it always hits the spot. You can adjust the spice level and they have plenty of variety of soups. You'll find that this place is a staple in Centreville dining and for good reason. read more

One of my favorite go to place when I want hot soup but also at the same time, an easy menu where I don't have to make that much choice as to what I want to eat! Pros: food is delicious, soups is always so hot , kimchi is delicious, lots of space and table to sit, fast service, plenty of parking in front. Cons: sometimes our server doesn't speak much English (but they are very kind and sweet) Place can be loud due to open space. read more

We came here for lunch and ordered a kimchi tofu soup. It came served in a little pot boiling hot, a bowl of rice on the side, one raw egg to crack into the soup and a bunch of additional sides. We absolutely devoured this as it was so flavorful and delicious. Definitely the perfect comfort food and not expensive at all for how much we ate. There are also a lot of the vegetarian options/modifications which is always nice to see. read more
This is my go to spot for soondooboo jjigae (spicy tofu stew). The soup is always v flavorful and the silken tofu is so soft. I love that they give you a raw egg to crack into the hot stew - the stew comes in the stone pot so it stays hottt for a while. They also have meat dishes like bulgogi and galbi that are p good too. read more

always love coming here to grab the tofu soup! Service here was good. They seated me right away with plenty of seating. The menu is not as large as other Korean restaurants but people usually come here for specially the tofu soup of course lol I ordered the combination soup (beef, mussel, shrimp) and the Bibibop without the stone pot. The combination soups was good but I wished it had more mussel and shrimp. They only give you 1 piece each and that's it lol The bibibop definitely was not my favorite. It seemed less flavorful than others that I've had but the portion was large so that was the only plus! There's sides that come with the meal which was okay. I enjoyed the bean sprouts the best! I've also had their angry chicken here before and BE WARN this is a SPICY dish. I usually can handle so it pretty well but this one made my on fire (both from the temp and the flavor lol) read more
