    Mushroom Chicken

If you're into ramen, this is definitely a spot worth trying. The chicken mushroom was tasty, filling, and overall a solid choice for anyone who wants a warm, comforting meal.

I heard about this place out in Centreville that specializes in instant ramen. Not a place that boasts about broth simmering overnight, but a place where you choose packets of noodles off a wall that's ready to serve after three minutes under an electric kettle. A friend and I walked in on a weekend, and the ambiance reminded me of both a theme restaurant and a Japanese convenience store. Bright lighting and high tops that resembled gigantic cups of ramen. There was a wall full of every brand of ramen imaginable. You pay per packet, and there's an add-on fee if you want to go from a fixed amount of toppings at the bar to unlimited. We both went for that so we could take our bowls of instant ramen and top them with all the veggies, dumplings, and hot dogs we wanted. We then took our bowls to a station of kettles that filled our bowls with hot water and cooked them from below. The result was an upgraded instant ramen experience. It was unique and entertaining. In addition to ramen, they also serve some à la carte side items like sushi rolls. It's too bad they are not located closer to Washington, DC- I'd be taking my friends out there all the time!

What's not to like about The Ramyun Zip? This Ramen Bar is a first in the DMV for those who want to experience all the options you can have with ramen. There's lots of ramen on the wall when you walk in and they are labeled based on how spicy they are. If you are daring, try one of the really spicy ones. They don't disappoint! The rest of the ramen bar has more cool stuff like a toppings bar where you can pay to add as much toppings as you want to your bowl; clearly enhancing it than just noodles. There's also a ramen cooker machine where placing your bowl will fill it up with water and cook it through induction for four minutes. I do have to say, I wish I could own one of these in my house! It'd such a cool machine for it's simple use. Besides the ramen, the store also sells Gimbap & their own drinks if you want something sweet to accompany with your drink. This is a must for those who want to check out a ramen bar. Bring some friends, eat some delicious ramen the way you want it to be, and have fun. It's a place worth checking out!

Your experience at Ramyun Zip depends on what you expect. If you realize that you'll technically be eating fast food ramen, you'll love this place - this was also the mindset we had going in. However, if you intend on going to a nice ramen restaurant, you better skip this. People working here were very nice and helpful. Ambiance - it's fast food. Definitely kid friendly. Great experience!

Finally, a Ramen bar in the DMV! If you've been to Korea or Japan, this is a welcome addition to the area. When you walk in, the first thing you'll notice is the impressive wall of ramen, sorted by spiciness with additional sections for Halal and Vegan selections. Across from the ramen wall are drink and additional snack options. Then you head to the cash register to pay and decide on your toppings ($1 per topping, or unlimited for $3). After you pay, then it's off to the toppings bar and the hot water machines. Be careful not to burn yourself, and if you get an egg, make sure you put it in at the right time. Then, slurp away! It was super-crowded and difficult to find a seat, but the food was great and the experience was great. However, it is a little confusing - so many people entered the Zip from the exit door. But I chalk that up to people now knowing how a ramen bar works - oonce people get the hang of it around here, it'll be a much smoother experience. Definitely going back - you should give it a try! Which ramen is your favorite?

This was a truly fun and unique experience, especially for Northern VA. 100% reminds me of the Korean convenience stores, where you just grab some food real quick, heat it up, and eat it then and there. They had some Squid Games merch and deals to look out for too! Since this is really just self-serve instant ramen, it's pretty affordable. And if you check out some of their specials, for example, their Squid Games Special, which includes a milk tea, kimbap, ramen, and unlimited toppings for $15, that's a pretty good deal! You can select whatever instant ramen you want, add some sides, toppings, and/or grab a drink. They also serve non-ramen options as well that I hope to try next time! Honestly the perfect spot to grab a quick meal/snack for work lunch or something. There is limited seating, so I don't recommend for large groups!

Cute concept and probably good for people who are interested but not as familiar with where to get ramen. I think it's kinda made to mimic the experience you can get in Korea but at a higher price (which is just due to it being in the states!). It's decorated nicely and I can see the appeal of getting together with some friends where you all want ramen but don't have the same taste

"It's just ramen" Nahh, definitely come AT LEAST once for the vibes. * Price: The ramen prices range from $5.50 to $13, depending on whether you go for the basic ramen or the unlimited toppings plus Gimbap. If you don't do unlimited, toppings are $1 each. * Food: You can't go wrong with ramen! I tried the Bul Jjamppong ramen because I hadn't had it before, but I personally recommend Neoguri and Shin as my go-to favorites. They also offer Halal and vegan ramen options. The Gimbap was okay, nothing too special, and heads up--there's no egg as a topping. (Manifesting it for everyone) * Cleanliness/Setting: The place is super clean and has a nice, aesthetic vibe. They've got cup ramen tables where you stand to eat, but also some chairs along the wall for a more comfortable setting. It's got that chill, comfy vibe. * Service: The setup is pretty much do-it-yourself. You pick your ramen, pay, choose your toppings, and then add the hot water yourself. The owner and cashier were both really friendly and checked in on us, which was a nice touch.

A cool concept and a fun idea to the area! It can definitely have a long term stay! A place for a quick cheap bite if you're out and about. As long as you don't compare it to doing it yourself at home. Fast and easy when you get a burner, if it's packed you'll have a bit of a wait time.

Friendly service, fun ambiance, delicious ramen choices...a great experience all around. My kids love this place as it is very hands-on from selecting a ramen option from their wall of choices, to adding any additional toppings, then pushing the button to add the boiling hot water in to the ramen bowl. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the place is very clean. This is a must return for us! Enjoy!

This place is so unique and cool! Think of a choose your own adventure type dining experience. There are so many different types of Ramen to choose from. I like that they were organized by spice level and type. There was an employee available to give you an idea of the process. After choosing your noodles and toppings, you get boil your own ramen. Very cool! The only tip I have is to not press the number button again after the first go around because it will fill your bowl up with water. I was trying to get my noodles to boil longer and accidentally added more water. The restaurant is cute but small, so I can see it being full at times. There are other items on the menu. We wanted to try a boba, but the machine was being cleaned at the time we went. Overall, a very unique dining experience. I will definitely return.

Came here for their free shin ramen event and the staff was so helpful! Jayden was especially helpful in helping us with our ramen, offering toppings, and even showing us the ice cream section! Plenty of ramen, categorized by spice level/broth or broth less, and even has additions like kimchi, ddukbokki, and rice. There is a topping bar with beanspouts, onions, green onion, rice cake, cheese, and etc for you to enhance your ramen as well. The ez cook machines will add your appropriate water and cook your ramen in a preset time! The drink selection and ice cream selection were great too. Plenty of seating to enjoy your meal with add ons for purchase like kimbab, fried chicken, and dumplings. The space was clean, well maintained, and plenty of parking in the lot. Right now they have their hours set up but hoping they adjust or open later because I could definitely use some late night ramen after a night in Centreville :)
