Health: Yeah this is about as healthy as you can get for real food. Veggies. Probiotic kimchi. Lean meats. Tendons. Light Sauce. Seafood. Tofu. This is literally healthier than most optimized refeed bowls for athletes and everyone else alike. This is what genuine cuisine, Korean in this case especially, can truly be for the body's future. Price: For the quality here, the price was good. I won't say perfect, but when factoring in the insane amount of food just default served, the freshness, and the taste, this was more than worth the money. Plus it's in northern Virginia. So. Good. Experience: A clean interior with little wooden boxes full of clean metal utensils on the table. Staff with genuine hospitality. Insanely quick service. Iced Korean tea and water served for free. And look at that menu. Korean. English pronunciation. A description. It even has pictures. Honestly amazing. Look at the menu. Look at it. Taste: This is the best Korean food I have ever eaten. Anywhere. For the menu variety ordered, the preparation was immaculate. Fresh. Balanced. Even the portioning was carefully curated to blend the variety of sauces and ingredients. Not too spicy. Not too salty. Not too sweet. But full of ingredient carried flavor in every bite picked carrot, spicy soup, or ox knee dipped in sesame soy sauce mix. It's even separated into convenient little bowls for customization, but without the inconvenience of basically cooking your own meals. Honestly amazing. I'll come here again if I stop off in Virginia. Maybe I'll go here just for this food. You should come here too. And bring everyone. This place doesn't deserve to get buried behind a mountain of fried oils. This is real food. The kind that helped define a culture.

Pretty good homestyle Korean spot. Orders delivered pretty quickly and the server was very nice. They have some interesting specials (i.e. super well priced soups 8-11AM weekdays). Will be back to try other menu options.

Always great service. Best soondae !!! I really didn't like soondae in America until here. Their dishes and soups (tang) very authentic. Love it here

I was very disappointed with my visit to this new korean restaurant. I usually frequent abbae, danji, or siroo for korean food but decided to try out this spot. The food tasted pretty bad. The bibimbap was unseasoned (usually the veggies are seasoned separately) and the meat was dry. The rice also wasn't cooked long enough so it wasn't crispy :/. The jokbal tasted like it was old/ reheated - the meaty parts were dry and the color looked weird. The gamjatang wasn't very flavorful and the meat was difficult to get off the bones. An overall unfortunate experience:/

Got the hangover soup and galbi tang -- both were super warming and comforting. The broths were rich and flavorful, perfect for a chilly day or when you just need a little comfort food. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving something cozy and hearty.

5 stars: would come back TL;DR: Extensive menu of a variety of Korean food - something for everyone's preference This space has lots of seating, and service is friendly and attentive. FOOD: We have tried several different dishes, some hits and some that were just okay, but nothing has ever been BAD. Our faves: ~Kimchi Jeon (4.25/5): the crispier type, but good flavor ~Gamjatang (4.5/5): great flavor and lots of pork ~Bossam (5/5): Very soft, flavorful, and huge portions ~Dwaeji deungalbi kimchi jjigae (4.5/5): great kimchi flavor and soft rib meat ~Myeongdong Kalguksu (5/5): broth was so flavorful. Dumplings and noodles were cooked perfectly. ~Bul Jokbal (4/5): Huge portions again and very tasty Others: ~Soondae (3/5): kind of bland. Better options elsewhere ~Jokbal (3.8/5): good flavor but a little chewier than I'd prefer ~Dwaegi galbijjim (3.9/5): more brothy/soup-like. Tasted very similar to Dwaeji Deung galbi kimchi jjigae Great spot for some Korean food. One of our go-to spots to scratch that itch.

To those tho love tosokchon in Annandale, I swear this place is a Tosokchon dupe. We ordered the Dwaeji Gukbab and soondae guk. The soondae in the soondae guk was the exact same as tosokchons. Broth was tasty for both soups with a good amount of meat. The kimchi jeon was thin and very crispy.

We are glad to found this place. A very cozy and located in a good area of centerville. We love every bite of our food. It has a right taste for everything. And the side dishes were on point!

Hannki was a local mom and pop shop serving authentic Korean food at a reasonable price in the centrevillenarea. We got the spicy chicken stew, meat platter, and chive pancake and everything was good! I do wish there was less tendon on the meat platter and replaced with others, and the chicken and potatoes in the stew to be smaller. Service was solid, it's a bunch of Korean aunties and the ambiance is homey and cosey

What a fantastic experience! The restaurant is small with an inviting atmosphere and the staff was super friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in. The menu is extensive with many pictures to help with their great selection of traditional Korean dishes. We tried a variety of things, and the highlights for me were the seafood pancake and gamjatang! The prices are also quite reasonable for the portion sizes. Parking is plentiful as it is in a shared lot with other businesses. A great spot for anyone craving authentic Korean food and a new add to our favorites list! We are definitely coming back. Enjoy!

Really great place for some korean soups! I have been here twice so far and it doesn't disappoint. I got the seafood soondubu and the soondaeguk, which were both delicious and flavorful. I really enjoyed the soondoeguk cause it has different kinds of meats in it and were all tender. My friends and I also shared the kimchi pancake which was also yummy. My friends also enjoyed their meals. I would probably reorder the dishes again or try something new!!!

Definitely worth 5 stars :) My partner and I love Korean food but have typically stuck with lighthouse in Centreville as our go to spot. He kept on insisting that we try Hankki as it was new and we are always looking for better options. I'll admit that I was a bit hes but I am so glad we went! First I just want to mention that their customer service was 10/10. The staff was so friendly! The female owner was so kind and nice to talk to! She checked on us many times and made conversing our baby :) she really went above and beyond! And they were busy at this time. The food was amazing. Large portions and quality was also great. We had no complaints about anything. It was also very clean inside. My part saw they offered a particle that he has not been able to find at other Korean restaurants, so we are excited to try that next time! Can't wait to come back.

Every dishes I had was good. Those waitresses were wrapping Mamdu (potstickers) which means they are 100% homemade, and each piece was big and juicy.

The menu was extensive, filled with lots of homey options that I don't usually see in other restaurants. After ordering, we were served six different banchans, all of which were incredibly homey -- light and not too savory. My favorites were the acorn jelly (which was mixed with salted seaweed and sesame seeds) and the white kimchi. Honestly, all six were really solid. AL TANG - 19.99 Super savory with lots of "sea sweetness" and umami, this stew was rich and piping hot upon arrival. I've never had al tang before, but have heard great things about it. Unfortunately, I didn't love the texture of fish roe (kind of reminded me of the texture of cooked chicken lungs). By the end of the stew, I thought it was too salty, so I didn't end up finishing it. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I probably won't get it again. My friend got the mackerel which he loved. I'll look forward to other items on the menu next time.

As a regular, here are a few tips: the $10 lunch menu is dine-in only--you can't order it to-go, and takeout has to be at dinner pricing (a bit unfortunate). Also, except for the seolleongtang, most dishes are pre-cooked and reheated, so I recommend asking them to make it piping hot; otherwise, some parts might still be a bit cold. Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 3 PM, but it's not available on holidays--also a bit of a downside. On the plus side, the servers are always very kind, and sometimes during lunch they serve an extra side dish in addition to kimchi. The stir-fried fish cake (odeng bokkeum) is especially delicious. Overall, still a solid spot I keep coming back to.

The restaurant itself is clean, orderly, and thoughtfully presented. The atmosphere feels calm and intentional, and the setup appears efficient. One person handles service for the entire dining room, which I was aware of going in, so my expectations for service were reasonable and aligned with that model. Unfortunately, the food simply did not work for me. This is where I found myself debating between three and four stars. From a purely functional standpoint, the restaurant did its job: I was seated, served a complete meal, and charged a reasonable price. But the food itself was a major disappointment. The dish had a sour aroma, and the flavor was difficult for me to enjoy. The dried pollack soup, in particular, reminded me of an extremely watery pho. After just a few sips of the broth, I knew it wasn't going to be something I could finish. I did try the fish as well, but it didn't improve the experience for me. That said, I want to emphasize the subjectivity here. Many other diners seemed to genuinely enjoy their meals, which suggests this is more about personal taste than execution. It may simply be a very traditional Korean flavor profile, more authentic than I anticipated,, and that's likely where the disconnect was for me. I was also the only white diner there for much of my visit, which reinforced the sense that this restaurant is catering to a specific cultural palate rather than a broadly Western one. Overall, it appears to be a well-run, authentic establishment. If you truly enjoy traditional Korean cuisine, this place may be exactly what you're looking for. For those who are less familiar with or less inclined toward those flavors, it may not be the best fit.
