This is a multi part gratitude letter. Bear with me. To the kind hearted house keeping staff, You give us a sense of belonging and comfort providing and maintaining sparkling showers, clean restrooms, warm and comfy beds and fresh smelling common areas. Most importantly you have shared your hardships and experiences, which have felt like loving guidance to me. I want to express how much I appreciate the hugs, the laughs and tears we have shared. I will take the lessons with me and strive every moment to be as strong and resilient as you are. I hope that you never feel under appreciated as you have saved my life by making sure I knew I belonged and deserved this as much as anyone else. I won't forget you. I will look for your beautiful smiling faces whenever I visit. I love you very much. To my stand up comic of a counselor, Where I came in a confused mess, I will be leaving a confused mess! BUT you have helped me be patient and loving to myself as a slowly grow into a well rounded and level headed man. I will always appreciate the challenges you presented me with, daring me to get over the obstacles and come out stronger each time. Although I am still a mess, I have learned to be grateful for even the worst experiences as they turned out to be the biggest lessons I could take with me into my continued sobriety. I will never forget your awful jokes, the ones that flew over my head and the laughs you shared with me when I told my own jokes. You are good man and I love you. To the Killer Kitchen Staff, Sometimes a simple thank you just won't cut it when we want to truly express the gratitude we feel for the work we do in the kitchen. It's can be grueling and thankless at times but knowing from personal experience, and being fed so well by you all, I hope you find this message as rewarding as it was for me to write it. When you put your heart into it, I can taste it mostly because I am a demon. Just Kidding!!!!! The delicious and beautiful salads replenishing lost essential vitamins and minerals; bacon so thick and crispy you can hear the snap from a mile away; a wildly diverse menu taking our taste buds around the world in a weeks time; coffee so strong that an almost 40 year old man grows new chest hair from it; smiles and music that bring joy even to the most grumpy and miserable feeling guys. I hope that one day I get back to my passion of cooking. You inspire and motivate me to do it. I loved working with those of you that were around when I was a chef; those of you I met this stay in treatment, it was a massive pleasure getting to know you. Thank you for putting up with me. I probably won't eat this good for a long long time, thank you for restoring the shine in my beautiful green eyes, the color back to my skin, and giving me this big recovery gut. It's gonna take awhile for me to get rid of it but I wear it as a badge of honor! I love you all. And how could anyone forget the Super Hero Support Staff, As you know I work in a construction related field so I would like to use an analogy relating to my field. There is a type of construction called a tilt up. When the foundation is poured and set, so are the walls. On the ground they cure and get ready to be tilted up and when that happens, it needs a lot of support before they are attached to each other and then the rest of the construction comes after. As I worked on putting my recovery foundation in place, you guys helped and provided the tools and materials I need ed, building the main source of protection from the storms I will likely face in the future. It was ultimately up to me to implement everything you provided us on a day to day basis. The basic upkeep to have a proper cure and then when I was ready to start putting it all together, you continued to keep me upright, even when the vandals moved in to try and knock me down, you stood fast and made sure I didn't fall. I really hope this tracks because you all treated me with massive respect and dignity. You helped shaped me into a big beautiful structure of sobriety. I have so many tools now that I should be able to managed any cracks that may appear, and I know if we have a little collapse of a wall, you will be right there to help me up and support me once again. I had made some amazing friends who we still keep in contact for support and as listening ears for each other. I was taught many many tools and methods in dealing with my addiction from the great staff and councilors at the LIGHT HOUSE. MIKE " DONT DO LATE" Thank you for teaching me that being on time was so important in any aspect in life thank you for caring for us and still being stern with the rules it taught myself and many others that rules are to build great character in us and to ready us for the real world. The Lighthouse Treatment Center saved my life. I am a lifelong drinker. My alcoholism started at the age of 13. I am 51, almost 40 years of drinking. Today, I have 90 days sober. Being able to say that is a miracle because I couldn't make it a few hours without drinking. When I arrived at The Lighthouse, I was dying. My liver was going to fail. I had a complete physical dependence on alcohol and had surrendered to the idea I was going to die an alcoholic death. I could not quit on my own and honestly, did not see how The Lighthouse would be of any help. Little did I know that The Lighthouse is filled with angels. The first one I met was Karen St Leger. She poked her head into my room when I was ready to give up and with just a couple of words and eyes and a face that radiate so much strength, love, kindness, and compassion, I found some hope. This woman became my counselor, this woman helped save my life, this woman is heaven sent. I am forever grateful. My second angel was my therapist Deborah. I don't know if there is anybody I have ever felt so comfortable around. I always felt I could sit and talk with her for hours. Both, she and Karen, were able to bring me such clarity whenever my thoughts got murky. I thank God for them. The list of angels goes on, Counselors Jesse and Jose, both heaven sent! Thank God for you! Counselor Melissa DeMontier, I absolutely adore you! Thank you for the love and thoughtfulness you gave me! Counselor, Jolyn, another angel, Thank you! Counselor Karlos, I love you! Eddie, I learned so much from you about my disease of alcoholism! Thank you, truly life saving! All the Therapists and counselors are amazing! There is another list of angels in client care, Brandy, Vinissa, Stephanie, Katelyn! They go above and beyond! I love you all dearly! I've been to the Lighthouse twice now. Both times that I have attended have been amazing! I want to focus on this last time. I relapsed after 2 and a half years sober and I knew the only way to get back on track was to go back to the Lighthouse. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with familiar friendly faces. Kim, Lupe, and Sara sat with me as I cried and assured me that this was the hardest part, surrendering. I stayed for 2 weeks and all the staff that I interacted with was amazing. My main support staff were Brandy, Analisa, Amanda, and Jen. All 4 of these women are a beacon of hope. They love their job and care about their clients so much. Not only did they lead amazing group sessions, but I had great one on one sessions with them as well where I could talk to them about anything without feelings judged. My counselor was Karen who checked on me multiple times a week to make sure I was okay. Any question or concern I had she made sure to get me the answer or to teach me how to do something on my own. My therapist was Julie who is literally an angel on earth. There are no words to even explain how much she helped me. I will carry her advice with me everyday for the rest of my life. I also want to give a shout out to Melissa, she was not my counselor but she is one of the counselors at the Lighthouse. Her office was located near where I stayed so I saw her almost everyday. I would look forward to the days we had her as a group facilitator, she made the groups interactive and fun. Even with the tough topics I had no problem discussing them because she made it feel like I was talking to a friend. Other group facilitators that really made a difference were Deborah and Kaitlyn. They, like Melissa, made it easy to talk about the difficult subjects. They both have such a positive attitude about life and no matter what you said they never judged you, they would always validate how I was feeling was okay. I like to say that Deborah knew how to play devils advocate without being annoying about it. As someone who has never dealt with state disability before the whole Client Care Team, Vinessa and Stephanie, was very helpful. They walked me through each and every step explaining how it all worked and why I needed to do certain things. After it was all figured out they assured me that they would take care of the rest so I would not have to stress about it. Not only did they help me when I was there but they also help me after I was discharged. Although they have over 100 clients to handle they always made it seem like I was their top priority. Last I want to thank the staff that I did not interact with on a daily basis but who took time out of their day to come say hi and let me know that they were there for me if I needed anything. Jose, Shannon, Rocky, Michelle, Jose, Sonia (who makes the most amazing food), Christine (who made me fall in love with yoga), Arlene, and Jason. Thank you lighthouse for saving my life once again. LETTER OF GRATITUDE over 3 months ago, my life was extremely unmanageable. I was bankrupt in every way. All I could think bout was death. I didn't think anything or anyone could put me on the road to recovery. Boy, I was wrong! When I was 30 K miles above, on my way to the lighthouse, I had to surrender. When I arrived at 3 am, I was very judgmental of the place. I didn't sleep for days. After a few days of taking everything in, my higher power gave me strength to give everything I had to the lighthouse. I picked up the BB and started my homework! "I learned to listen, but listened to learn" (DR)!! I put myself with the winners of the program! I found out quickly, this was life or death for me! The lighthouse has taught me so much. I could never thank you enough in one post! By the time I was to phase 2, I developed conversation with anyone and everyone! The people at the LH showed me that anything is possible as long as you have the HOW. (Honesty, Open minded, Willingness)!! I took everything the light house gave me and brought it home with me! They told me to: get a sponsor, work the steps,90 meetings in 90 days, get involved and put myself in the center of the program, read my BB and other materials, become part of the fellowship! They said if I did this I could stay sober! As I go today to my 100th meeting and collect my 3 month chip, I reflect on the past few months. I see the progress! I'm involved in every way I can be! I now belong to an amazing church! I'm half way through my steps, with my sponsor! I go to one or two meetings a day! I do service work any chance I can! Some of you think this might be a tall order?? Bull crap!! I work over 40 hours a week and still find time for my family and myself!! You have to find the balance in sobriety! It's worth it!! You will see a change, lil by lil , day by day!! Others will see the change in you!! Today I am so grateful for many things!! I smile! I laugh! I feel love! My life is filled with joy and serenity!! I came to the Lighthouse late May of this year ( for 2 months)as an Alcoholic a disease that I've been fighting with since 2006 along with 3 alcohol related hospitalizations. A Divorce (20 yr. marriage gone mainly of my drinking) and I lost a custody battle of my 3 sons. It was my decision to go into rehabilitation or I would find death ( simply put ) as I was discharged from the hospital from suffering my 1st Alcoholic seizure. The staff is well trained that shows a lot of compassion always willing to help. They also can fulfill your necessary personal needs (Dr.appts, business,family affairs etc.) Transportation if needed. Therapist are well educated in their position ready to listen to your concerns, giving the best advice at hand. The various programs they have are very helpful and informable to your needs with continuous A.A. and N.A. meetings around Orange County as you meet others that also suffer from this disease. Many guest speakers are presented at the Lighthouse facility also providing fun filled outings such as Movies, trapeze, Cart racing, Archery, Indoor trampoline arena, Beach outings as I experienced I'm sure there's many more different outings that they arrange. The Lighthouse Treatment Center is a very well kept facility with maintained housekeeping and maintenance with beautiful fountains and many plant landscapes to give you that calm respite atmosphere.Kitchen staff is very friendly with vast experience in culinary. Great meals. With constructive criticism a few younger staff could use just a little more training in professionalism in current occupation especially dealing with those that are old enough to be there parents ( not fond of using the word Elder ) I understand some are interns but most importantly there humans just like us. Bus scheduling could use some improvement which can be quickly addressed. I do HIGHLY Recommend Lighthouse Treatment Center to those who suffer from this terrible disease as I found out it is a disease thanks for the Lighthouse for pointing that out. I've been 4 months Sober now taking it Day by Day using the tools, handouts, personal written notes and most importantly the support that Lighthouse provides as you leave their facility to live a better, cleaner and healthier life. I was recently at the Lighthouse Treatment Center for a substance abuse problem which resulted in a detox and treatment process. Upon being picked up from a lighthouse employee at my front door (William) I was treated with the utmost respect and given a COVID test which was a requirement prior to my trip to the facility. Once I arrived I was explained what the process was going to be . I was processed in (Lupe) and taken to detox and given a bed and some simple instructions. The process was smooth and quick. I Remained in detox for several days before being transferred to treatment and a new bed. The facility was clean, the staffing was kind and very professional. (Michelle, Lulu, CC, Karen & Carla) These beautiful ladies really touched my heart. There's just too many to mention though. They all deserve kuddos and a mention. I was then given a counselor, a therapist, a client care coordinator and some very intense homework which would ultimately help me once I was released back into the world. I knew right away that I wanted as much impatient time as my insurance would approve. Unfortunately, I was only given less than a month. I knew that this was going to mean "Life or Death", mine. I wanted everything they would offer me. Aside from groups that were given by professional support there was also yoga (Christine) and crafts (Donna) and trips to the gym. I received 3 beautiful meals per day (Sonia) and a very doable instructional requirements. Each day I grew stronger in my sobriety and was loved until I could come to Love myself once again. Once I left treatment I requested an outpatient treatment program. Lighthouse Treatment Center has an outpatient program as well. Lucky me! I took advantage of that and continued on my sobriety journey, (Nicho) was of great help. I am reaching the end of my program and I am extremely grateful for all the folks at the Lighthouse and the clients that I've become friends with. Heidi, you've always been such a beautiful soul and your work with Alumni does not go unnoticed Melissa, (my counselor) your insightfulness and can do attitude will be etched in my coping skills forever. I was at the Anaheim Lighthouse Treatment Center from July 7, 2021 to August 9, 2021. The staff at the Lighthouse was a huge part of my recovery as well as possibly saving my life. The ladies that I had the pleasure to share this journey with are amazing. I would like to give so many personal shout-outs but I'm going to have to do it in general form as I'm afraid I may forget someone and that would not be because they were any less great. There are just too many to name. Special Shout Out to the Drivers - You were all amazing. Jose and Theresa, You definitely were special to me. So Much Love. ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT! The Lighthouse In Anaheim California is truly working gods plan for people in recovery. Everybody I met here was totally amazing. From maintenance, to cleaning staff, housekeeping, client staff, Counceling, Therapist, to client care and even the driving staff, I have nothing but praise and good things to say about the team they have established. First let me start with Client care. Vinissa and new to client care Lubna are both very diligent, respectful and caring hardworking ladies. Client staff is the best, always helping out the newcomer with emotional support or advise, to medications and concerns, they direct you on the right path. People like Angela, who no matter what she was going through, she made sure to keep you accountable for your program at the center. Then there is Bryan and Taylor ( the newest staff member), Evan, Gene, and Justin and Ron who held great check out groups, and my favorite staff member Ray, who showed us brotherhood and integrity.Ray also held morning check in group,his life story and always had the best messages and insight into living in recovery and working the steps.Then there's Eddy, Bryan and the wonderful Heidi who all were very intellectual and caring for the clients and their recovery needs, these people held great workgroups on 12 steps, cognitive distortions, health, addiction and the physiological effects of addiction to name a few. And let's not forget the founder of The LH Mr. Jesse who has unmeassurable wisdom and empathy for those afflicted and affected by addiction. The there's the cooking Staff, Danny, Old man Manny and Jeff who were curtious, respectful and great at cooking, the meals were delicious consistently, And the head Cook Manny who no longer works there. Sonja was the best housekeeper right up there with Mariana. The drivers were all friendly and kind, there was Bernard, Jose, Teresa,Kristine, and Han. All of the drivers are amaizing people. And last but never least, My councilor Mellissa and my therapist Ellena who were also two of my favorite people. Both are caring hardworking, strong and astute women. read more

This place is awesome.  At first, I did not know what to expect.  I was new to this live-in residence facility thing. So, I gave it a try, and it was a blessing, the greatest thing I've ever done.  The food here is superb.   The facility is very nice and cozy, there is a lot of greenery, a water fountain, and it's very peaceful. There are outdoor activities and games. You're not just stuck indoors. This place is downright, excellent, and the accommodation is superb.   The workers at the MENTAL HEALTH facility were sweet, warm, and accommodating to everyone's needs.  The support staff listens to you and gives comfort. Everyone here interacts with the clients that are here. The mental health Therapists listen to you here and are very good at their work, specializing in Psychosis, anxiety, personality, and trauma treatment.   I've heard from many other clients that came here from other facilities, that they were not as helpful and nice, gave them broken promises, and the food wasn't great either. Then they gave this place a try thinking it would be like the other facilities they have been to. But they were surprised when they came here. It is totally different and 100 percent better than other places, a total five-star facility.  Some of the clients here say they haven't smiled, laughed, or socialized with others in a long time, but here they have.    I've benefited from being here. It changed my life by seeing things from another perspective, to live a normal and healthy life. I would like to recognize the support staff and hope their management recognizes them as well OSCAR, TOMMY, MELISSA, ERIC, TERI, YOUNG, ALONDRA and Especially SHAUNA. Also, not to mention DINO, GIL, JESSICA, COURTNEY, SHANNON, JOLYN, CHRISTIAN, JOHNNY, SCOTT and all the other facility staff. They all made me feel like part of their family there. read more

Going to the Lighthouse was the best thing that could have happened to me. I had been to treatment about 15 years ago and at 39 I have struggled with alcoholism for the majority of my life. When I came into the Lighthouse I was scared, broken and had absolutley no self worth. Drinking was a small part of my problem. I had a problem with honesty, family issues, and living life. I was an emotional disaster and knew I wanted to change. What I didnt know was that I would encounter some of the most caring souls I have had the pleasure of meeting. From the cooks to the drivers to the therapist and everyone between. They all cared beyond measure and literally loved me when I felt I didnt deserve it. While there, there was work to be done and the rewards thus far have been tenfold. I spent 96 days in treatment and now have over 4 months soberiety. While there are SO many to thank, one of the turning points for me was when I began working with my counselor, Melissa D. Melissa pushed me to my limits, made me uncomfortable, and was the driving force for much of my change, including finding my worth. We laughed together and cried together. God did me a favor when she was put in my life. Due to her suggestions and my hard work, I walked out of the Lighthouse April 2 with my head held high. I am a woman of character and am confident in my ability to life a happy, meaningful life. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone who struggles with your addiction. I went into The Lighthouse on 12/9/2023. They sent a car to pick me up at my house in Palmdale and took me to Anaheim. Immediately, the admissions staff was wonderful to me and made me feel welcome and comfortable. I detoxed for 7 days, and Nicole, Dana, and Stacy took EXTRA care of me. I then transferred to WACTX (a most welcoming and supportive group of gentlemen) for the next 42 days of care. My OUTSTANDING counselor/therapist team was Johnny and Desiree. They took care of my clinical needs WONDERFULLY. Client Care (Lisette) went ABOVE & BEYOND to make sure that my concerns, medications, interactions with my health care provider, and many other needs were taken care of promptly. The staff was TERRIFIC, especially (Mike, Austin, Stacey, Estel, and Richard), ensuring that we were all SAFE and had our medications administered ON-TIME. The group facilitators conducting the sessions were both professional and knowledgeable and presented materials that were SPOT ON pertaining to our assorted addictions. These facilitators were Jaime, Jessie, Eddie, Ron Sabrina, Nicole, and Val. Additionally, I was introduced to Biosound Therapy by Jolyn, which helped my anxiety IMMENSELY. And, last but not least, by any stretch of the imagination, Teresa runs a very TIGHT SHIP, ensuring that the rules are both followed COMPLETELY and applied FAIRLY across the board. I am now very GRATEFUL to call myself a Lighthouse Alumni as I was accepted into the Lighthouse Alumni Team by Heidy, Lighthouse Alumni Team Program Manager. This place saved my life & Cornerstone taught me how to live. When I entered treatment in February, I was 92 lbs and still having auditory hallucinations. Julie was my therapist and she was a huge help & safety net, during that time. Jason was always bombarded non-stop, by patients. Yet he made the time to work on a very detailed exit plan for me, last minute. The food is bomb too, which helped a lot in gaining some healthy weight back. They have a 24/7 medical team on sight, which is probably the most important. You always have someone to talk to. My regret is not staying for extended care & giving it more time. With that said, I ended up back in treatment a week within leaving Lighthouse. Thirty day is just not enough time. Not for someone who has used half their life. This time my insurance referred me to another treatment center "Able to Change." It was the shadiest place I've been! No one is licensed to handle MAT (medication assisted therapy). There isn't an on sight Doctor to see you, let alone a nurse. The owners (40 something year old son) was texting my female roommates (other patients) at night. The worst part, his mom (the owner) knew he was doing it and did nothing to end it. Disgusting. Thankfully, Cornerstone of CA had a bed available and I checked into their program. After drinking for 20+ years I had reached a point that alcohol was destroying me, and impacting every aspect of my life in a negative way. Thankfully I made the choice to enter treatment after realizing I could not fight and defeat the disease of alcoholism alone. Lighthouse Treatment Center was my first experience in any type of treatment. Early on I felt completely overwhelmed, I was naive and unaware of the complexity of this disease and the amount of work it would require of me and I did relapse a few times but that's my fault and not the lighthouse. And as soon as I was willing to give it my all and went back everything changed. The staff was always supportive and presented the steps of recovery in a way that was encouraging, positive and manageable the staff was not only very supportive and knowledgable but most were former alcoholics/addicts and could relate to my past and what| was currently experiencing. I found this to be extremely beneficial. I felt at ease when sharing my situation with the Lighthouse Treatment staff and other clients. I have made life long friends at the lighthouse and I am highly active in there Alumni program which is the best around for support after treatment. I am coming up on 16 months of sobriety and looking to work at the place that saved my life. I entered the Lighthouse as a last ditch effort to attempt this journey called "sobriety." What was meant to be another go at 30 days inside an inpatient treatment center (prior attempts) turned into a 92 day "experience". I am proud today to declare that I am 102 days sober. The Lighthouse allowed me to become whole once more. The tools I acquired during my stay to cope with my addiction are immense. I was aided in developing an after care plan that will allow me to continue head down, focused and successful in long term sobriety. The staff in this facility saw me at my worst but viewed/treated me as a human in my darkest time. I was consistently pulled aside by a particular Therapist named Leah, whenever she would notice in passing that I was not myself. She was not my assigned Therapist but would take time out of her busy schedule in order to lend an ear and listen. I am forever grateful for the emotional weight she freely helped remove from my shoulders. Stephanie in Client Care was also a helpful hand and in all honestly a huge part of not just my recovery.. but enabling me to piece my damaged life back together. I owe her more "thank you's" than I am able to list in this short review. If you are researching a facility which produces results both physically and emotionally... look no further. My son was admitted to lighthouse treatment center last Monday. We are from Reno Nevada- He went straight from the hospital medical detox to the the lighthouse. Last Wednesday I found him in his room having a seizure due to detox from a 3 week banger on alcohol. He has been fighting adiction since his late teenage years. I was so lost, didn't know what to do. His father, my husband,stepmother and I all called a parent meeting immediately. We knew we had to make a quick decision on a rehab center or we were going to lose our boy. I called several centers before talking to Laura at the lighthouse. After a two hour conversation w her I knew this was the place. My son was able to call me tonight. WOW!! I WAS THRILLED!! He had nothing but great things to say. I have so much hope right now. Amazing that just one week ago I was completely hopeless. He said the staff is wonderful, food is wonderful and he has met some really great people. For a boy who has had a very privileged life for 23 years to be so willing and comfortable to be in rehab and stay in rehab I couldn't be more excited as a mother. I feel like hes taking this program by the horns and becoming healthy and sober again. Im very grateful for the Lighthouses' staff in giving me a second chance, clearing the fog in my mind with their insight and providing a safe for me to begin practicing myself again. Thank you for taking care of health to the front staff during intake, thank you to my counselors for keeping me busy and grounding me, thank you to my financial counselor for her insight in both financially easing my worries and just hearing my worries, i thank the chefs in the kitchen for keeping me full with their nutritional options (even my family's as well during visits and just always being open-minded to talk,) thank you to the support of my drivers and maintenance staff for taking care of me while i was learning how to take care of myself, thank you to my care team for letting me know that I was on a better path to health and (kept me motivated), special thank you to my meds being handled by an insightful detox& treatment care team reminding me that I can choose my happiness (teaching me that each day can be different as its my choice to take care of my happiness) and Im eternally grateful for the support from my brothers as i needed their strength to show me how it's done!
