First they showed up to a vacant property without a phone call so I could let them in as previously arranged (actually I had a key hidden if they would have called). When I got there they were already working. The brand new door knob was broken off.... I asked what happened and they said it was like that. That was the first red flag. Now today I get a phone call saying the inspector was there but couldn't get in. That I needed to run over there and open and wait or hide a key so the inspector can get in. I questioned Craig on why they never let me know the inspection was scheduled. He lied and said they sent me an email or voicemail none of which I ever received. When I expressed my disappointment over the situation and explained how I can't drop everything I'm doing Craig became very rude on the phone, and told me the inspection was now up to me to get done and hung up the phone. I believe the work is good but these folks lack any type of professionalism.

I called Jerry Dylhoff, the owner of Kitchen and Bath Unlimited, who originally installed the faucets. He told me the kitchen sink was made by Kohler and the one in the bathroom by Eclipse. He suggested I call Kohler and request the part needed to fix the problem. He provided their phone number and the part number of the faucet. When it came to the other faucet he told he'd have to look to see who made it. While looking, he discovered he had purchased the same faucet to use for display purposes. Since he still had it seven years later, he saw no need to keep it and asked if I would like to have it and if so, he would give it to me for free. I could not believe my ears. He even delivered the faucet to my house later in the day. This is a faucet I have been trying to fix for months and had resigned myself to having to buy a new one. I could not believe in one phone call he had helped me resolve two faucet issues in a matter of minutes. My wife was excited to as it meant the "honey do" that had been on her list for me for a long time would finally be completed. Folks, this is what outstanding customer service looks like and to me Jerry lives this everyday. On my next remodel or faucet replacement I have no question who I will call. I hope you do too. He made time WELL after business hours and sat with us for over two hours planning every inch of our kitchen. Our finished walkout basement flooded and I had heard all of the insurance renovation nightmare…read morestories. I was not optimistic about the time frame for restoration or the process for putting our nightmare behind us. Van Dam was on the job the same day as the flood, brought in huge dehumidifiers and a zillion fans and had the entire basement demolishened and dry in no time. After working out a quote for the insurance company and us agreeing to the scope of the work, everything moved very fast. I was in construction for 20 years, and I know how a well-run job works. I've also found that it's rare! Van Dam, their employees, and their contractors were amazing to work with! Shane and Darrien, their carpenters, and general go to people, were very professional and did expert work. Rob, my project manager was always prompt to respond and to get things done. We had about 800 square feet of finished basement and from the time they started to its completion, it was only about a month. The renovation included replacing drywall, removing and replacing a subfloor, painting, baseboard, removal and reinstallation of bathroom fixtures and cabinets, carpet and plank flooring, They moved the furniture and put it all back when they were done. All in all, I am very thankful for the work Van Dam did for us and I would highly recommend them to all my family and friends.
