This is a great store with very helpful and friendly employees! We had been shopping for outdoor lights for a while now and my husband and I finally managed to find some we agreed on at Lighting Design. They had a lot of options that were better quality and a more custom designer look than just the basic stuff at the big box stores. And we had been to Lamps Plus but that place is just plain overwhelming. At Lighting Design they just had one wall of outdoor options with one sample from each design. The friendly salesman explained that each piece was available in various sizes and finishes and so once we narrowed it down to a couple we liked he could look up what the options were in a catalog. So, you actually have a lot of choices but it is not so overwhelming when you break it down that way. They also had a lower installation charge ($20 per piece) than any of the other stores we looked at. And when the guys came out to do the job even though I wasn't there, my hubby said they were friendly and quick. read more

So I am going thru first-time-remodeling-a-home-anxiety (hellloo... the 80s called and wants all their light fixtures back!)... Call me naive.. but where do you go to find light fixtures after Lowe's, Home Depot and Lamps Plus?! By chance I drove by this store after a Lowe's light fixture purchase that I wasn't completely in love with... THIS is my holy grail lighting store (does it count if I've only been to 4 places?! But I don't want to order online... I'm a touchy feely home decorator apparently...) Many styles without being dated & cheesey and prices of all ranges (whereas Lamps Plus just made my eyes bug). The sales assoc was so kind and friendly, willing to climb up and down ladders to look at price tags and gave me info sheets on the models I was interested in. Disappointing. I walked in there this morning (I was the only customer there).. I asked for the ladies room and the lady behind the desk told me where it was. I thanked her and said "When I get back I am looking for Deco lighting." I came back, assuming that she or someone would help me, I started browsing, and after 3 passes around the entire store, no ones said a WORD to me! With a friendly, knowledgeable staff and a great selection of lights this is a great place to shop for your lighting decor. Take time to look around because they have a wide range of products other than lights - they have funiture pieces, mirrors and misc art that can make get accessories in any room. Shopping here is fun as well as beneficial. And an extra bonus is that the prices are comparable or better when they have a sale. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Went in looking for a ceiling fan light for a fan I currently own. The man there didn't want to help me find a light, then told me that lights for my ceiling fan are specific, which is incorrect, if the attachment is the same the light will work. Didn't try to help was rude and sent us away within a minute of being in his store. If you are looking for any kind of lighting go somewhere else, dont waste your time or money here! read more

We came to this store looking for new lights and ended up ordering new lights for the new house we are moving into. The lights here are high quality and good looking. Josiah was great at handling a few issues that we had with 2 of the lights that we ordered. He called and provided updates on those issues. Josiah provided excellent customer service. The reason for 4 stars is because of the process. We ordered the lights and were notified almost a week later that the lights were discontinued or backordered. I feel that the process should be much quicker. We ended up ordering another light elsewhere and getting the floor model as the result. Anyway, the staff is great here and I would recommend this place if you don't have a tight time frame. read more

Will never buy here again...rude girls! Bought a light fixture for bathroom and light bulbs. After discussing in detail about having bright light bulbs but would put in dimmer sales associate ordered non dimmable bulbs. Then wouldn't admit to mistake...finally ordered correct ones...took forever to get. Then 2 blew out 1 was flickering took back and they were so rude! Let me start by saying we love the Chandelier we purchased through Lighting Design. Our problem was the service we received by the staff. We informed the Staff that we needed delivery and installation by a certain date, First problem: They completely forgot to check on the order status, therefore, the Chandelier was never ordered, yet payment was processed. Second problem: After using there express service, which we had to constantly call them for updates, the installation team finally arrived, but put the Chandelier together wrong and didn't assemble the item correctly. Additionally, they dropped a couple of the crystals, requiring them to be reordered. Our rating for the experience with Lighting Design Service: 0 - Chandelier: 5. Would not recommend! read more

We moved into a new home in March and needed 4 new outdoor ceiling fans. Jeff, the Sales Manager at Light Design in Chandler, was extremely helpful in guiding us through the options available and providing alternatives that would meet our needs. We purchased the fans in July and really love how they look. And the air flow is outstanding. What a difference they have made on our patio. I'd spent ages trying to find the right drum shade for our newly remodelled kitchen. I went to a number of light stores and just couldn't find the right one. Most sales people suggested I look online but Niki at Lighting Design took notes about my preferences and came up with three styles to look at. We chose one which needed modifying (longer electrical cord) and she arranged for that. Whilst there were some problems with the light fixture when it arrived from the supplier, Niki worked with them to get a replacement and their crew installed the shade for me. Showroom was a little smaller than I was expecting based on reviews, however staff went above and beyond to ask about my needs and show me more options in catalog. Pricing is also competitive. I went to the manufacturer website of a light i was considering to get more specs and found it was $40 more or about 25% more than here. The most impressive selections were in chandeliers and pendant lighting. I was window shopping, would likely buy here vs a home improvement store even if I had to special order . read more

I found myself in a last minute panic for a light today. My electrician was at the end of our major remodel and the light fixtures ordered from another company had been unexpectedly back ordered. I dashed into Lighting Design hoping beyond hope for something unique. They had the perfect one and they made the purchase of an exquisite floor model easy! I had broke a crystal to another light fixture at home earlier today that we were moving. I happened to ask if they by chance would have one available for purchase that might be similar to complete my damaged chandelier. To my delight, they had a perfect match as an extra...and they just gave it to me! Who does that these days?!? They so saved me anguish, they have no idea how pleased I am. Had a great experience shopping for lighting and ceiling fans here. They have a nice variety of lights and fans on display. They can also order anything from a huge selection of catalogs. Ashley and Shawn were both extremely helpful with all our questions. They helped me find a kitchen under-cabinet LED lighting system to fit my needs. They showed me samples, explained installation considerations, and custom-fit a solution for me. I bought all the parts from them, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to go with it due to a problem my electrician uncovered in my kitchen. Lighting Design cheerfully refunded my full purchase with no hassle. Will definitely shop there again for lighting or ceiling fans. read more
