All three of my boys are dyslexic, and I have spent years fighting a system that was fully prepared to let them fall through the cracks academically. By the time I realized how severe the situation truly was, thanks to years of the school district lying, manipulating and gaslighting me, my children were years behind and being pushed through school without the ability to properly read, write, or do math independently. Kellie helped our son to improve his speech, reading and writing abilities when he was 5 years old. Kelli's tutoring has been a life-altering experience for my son. He has gone from a shell of a child to a thriving, straight A student who has confidence, self-esteem, and a desire to learn. I've had the unique experience of intersecting with Kellie in two aspects: having had her as my son's therapist, and as colleagues taking the same Making Math Real courses together over the last few years. She and I took all of the math courses together at least twice, so that speaks volumes about how she dedicates her time to making sure that she learns the methodology deeply to help her clients in the best way possible. She is an excellent therapist having worked with my son during middle school. My son struggled with reading and spelling, and Kellie helped him tremendously. Ms. Kellie has been an absolute blessing in our lives. She provides us with Speech Therapy for my 3 year old who is currently on an IEP and recently diagnosed with Autism. At the first meeting, she got my son to sign and say the word, "eat!" Since then, it's been a game changer at home! Her office is extremely comfortable, clean, and has lots of items to help my son focus during the sessions! During an IEP meeting she was my advocate in my corner and man did that bring me to tears! Kellie has worked with my son (now 3) for about 5-6 months for speech therapy. From our initial consultation with her, I could sense how knowledgeable and passionate she is. We drove an hour each way for our sessions almost every week, but it was well worth it because my son has made such amazing progress over the past 5-6 months, specifically with his speech and articulation. Scheduling was tricky for us due to the distance and time commitment, but Kellie was always proactive, flexible, and accommodating, keeping us updated on any appointment openings from week to week. She started with a thorough assessment, so we knew what specific areas he needed to work on. We sat in on the first couple of sessions to get to know her better.
