HORRIBLE experience. Bad enough I had to have surgery, the OR staff left a blade from a scalpel in me, leaning up against my spine.. see the X-Ray below. They're supposed to count everything going into surgery and check everything out at the end. ABSOLUTELY CARELESS. The nurses outside of the OR were very helpful as they were a few years back.

I have nothing but praise for the emergency room staff of doctors and nurses. I'm sorry I was in so much pain that I don't recall names but to the woman at the desk who whisked me in to the E.R. staff I want to say thank you so very much! Now to the nurses on the 2nd floor G Wing I believe I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sorry if I kept you busy changing 50 bags of fluid that kept my catheter flowing. You nurses are truly dedicated, hard working and go above and beyond. Special shout out to the ones whose names I can remember and those I don't . Amanda, Litzy, Brandon, Maria, Brianna and Tom the RN that was called in when I had an episode. You guys rock. Again thank you all that took care of me when I ended up at Mt. Sinai.

She did but with all those infections. In ICU. I had to wear full length berka thing even full over the head cover which I took off b/c my mom couldn't HEAR me thru that thing. They ended up giving her tube feeding which I thought would be reversed. Dr. said no, they don't live long after that!!! They even tried only giving her water-no nutrients which I caught them doing. They wanted her to die so they could get the bed back. I reported this via email to the so-called suits, that they were committing a crime! They all appeared at 10am-offered whatever help even the dietician. They started giving her nutrients & she, of course, rallied. A nasty young woman dr-last name Hoffman, threw my mother's papers on her bed. Said she had signed DNR paper. I had her taken off my mother's "care". She then came up to me, told me how she graduated so high in her class. So what? Didn't want her near my mom. When my mother was dying they wouldn't let me in-said shift was changing!! I sat in my car alone in the parking lot as the sun went down. When I was finally allowed in all her belongings were gone! I just wanted to go in & get them. While my mother was in this hospital & they kept changing her room they NEVER moved her belongings. I did. If you are alone, no advocate, kiss your belongings, your life a quicker goodbye! After the fact, when I went to get her things they were nowhere to be found. Security said that never should have happened-I should have been let in shift change or not. Security was the only decent treatment I rec'd during my mom's time there. STAY AWAY! Other hospitals in this area. Do not go here. They should have "Abandon hope all ye who enter here" above their entry door. IMO just an extention of HELL.

Brenda, I doubt you'll ever see this review, but you truly made the experience special. You were informative, welcoming, and made sure everyone understood exactly what to expect and where to go when the big day arrives. My partner and I were actually the only people on the tour who already had children, while everyone else were first-time moms and dads. It turned into such a nice experience because some of the other parents even came to us with questions or for advice whenever Brenda stepped away for a moment. It created a very supportive atmosphere. During the tour, we got to see the labor and delivery area, as well as the postpartum rooms. We also happened to see a new mom walking through the hallway with her newborn, which was such a sweet and special moment. Another nice touch was seeing the statistics for how many baby boys, baby girls, and twins had been delivered there this year. The tour was extremely informative and really helped ease any confusion about where to go and what to expect on delivery day. The hospital renovations also look great everything feels updated and well maintained.

An 10 hour wait in an EMERGENCY ROOM?! What exactly is the emergency at that point?? For one of the biggest hospitals on Long Island, this is absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing. People come to the ER because they need medical attention, not because they want to spend their entire day sitting in a waiting room hoping somebody eventually gets to them. Absolutely ridiculous. I live about 7-8 miles from all LIJ ER's and usually I would have gone to Glenn Oaks or Manhassett but since face tingling could be a pre cursor to either a panic attack or stroke, I wasn't taking any chances. I arrived around 7:15 PM on a Thursday night and was quickly triaged in about 10 mins. Another 10 mins later I had an EKG and was moved to a bed. The nurse came to set up the IV line and despite me telling her it was poor insertion of the needle she dismissed me and moved on. I'll revisit this. An additional 15 mins later I was wheeled to take the Cat Scan. Things were moving along quickly and then 2 huge cases came in via EMS. One was a 47 year old whose husband came home and found he unresponsive form what I overheard them saying was a stroke and another was 72 yr old male who they had worked on for 20 mins and he hadn't responded. I understand why I'd become secondary to them so I watched Netflix and waited... for the next 5 hrs and 20 mins until the Dr came. I'm the interim I can find no comfort because the needle feels like it's about to break off in my arm. Keep in mind, I'm not scared of needles and have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I get up, go to find her and ask her to fix. By then, my arm is buried under the bandage but my phone was also dead so I couldn't photograph. This is where things got weird. He comes over, introduces himself and asks what's going on. I give him a detailed oral report. He's not very tapped in for whatever reason and even before the EKG results return, he's already telling me " I doubt there's anything we can do about that". How? The whole point of me paying the $150 deductible and bypassing urgent care which has no copay for my insurance was because I wanted a more comprehensive overview of what is wrong. Never have I heard of someone being sent home like " we don't know what's wrong with you". Dude never made eye contact until he saw a Camo canvas bag from J Crew that was personalized with my initials and he remarked " your bag is dope". Well thanks for the compliments sir but I'm here for medical diagnosis and or treatment. This was a horrible experience. Despite this prognosis, our family continued to advocate for additional testing and treatment options. By the second week, we noticed that he was opening his eyes and attempting to respond. We informed the nursing staff, but they seemed unaware of these changes. When we later showed the doctor, he stated that it was the first time he had seen such improvement. We explained that these responses had been occurring for two days and had already been reported to the nurse, yet there was no documentation in his chart. In the third week, my uncle became fully awake. Unfortunately, our concerns about his care continued. There were instances where he remained soiled for extended periods without being cleaned, and when we brought this to the attention of the nursing staff, some responded rudely and dismissively, stating they had more important tasks to handle. We understand that healthcare workers are often busy and under significant pressure, but our family felt that critical changes in my uncle's condition were overlooked and that his basic care needs were not consistently met. Based on our experience, we were deeply dissatisfied with the quality of care and communication provided during his hospitalization.

Whatever happened deserves its own documentary because this place is now giving portal to purgatory. My husband and I came in on a Wednesday because of a foot injury. All he needed was an X ray and someone to look at it. We spent FIVE HOURS there, and the only medical treatment he received was having his vitals taken. They brought us to the back to wait for a doctor and then seemingly deleted us from the system. Three different nurses came over at different times, asked for his name, called him by the wrong name, and then asked, "Why are you still here? We haven't seen you?" FUN FACT... I'm wondering the same thing. WHY ARE WE STILL HERE?! After about three hours of this fever dream, they moved us to the "FastTrack" area, which I can only assume was named as a joke. We then sat there for another TWO HOURS while everyone collectively forgot we existed. Again. Meanwhile, two nurses were openly talking about how badly they wanted to go home. At that point we looked at each other and said, "You know what? We don't want to be here either, girl," and walked out. Now here's where it somehow gets even better. TWO HOURS AFTER WE LEFT, they called us to ask if we were still there. I'm sorry... what? At that point I wasn't sure whether to laugh or congratulate everyone involved on creating the most immersive escape room experience in New York. Honestly, you're probably better off going to CityMD, MedRite, or asking the guy at your local bodega for a second opinion. At least someone will acknowledge your existence. I'm genuinely convinced this place is run by NYU's psychology department as a social experiment to see how much absurdity people will tolerate before they completely lose it. I wish I were kidding.
