So shame to have that in a Hilton property and have NO ALOHA in hawaii. A guy greeted us and I thought he was another patron that just came from the beach. Not presentable at all. Plain black t-shirt, beach looking hair, not well put together. He was discouraging us from staying if we had no intention to buy & I have kids. The kids thing I respect because there's people that let theirs run wild, but not me & this guy is a witness to that cause I scolded mine in front of him telling them to stay close. Anyways, as a niece of a musician and teacher who lives in & is close family friends with the WEALTHY in Los Angeles, I was raised to appreciate art & with my son who's quite artistic himself, I figured visiting this place would help feed the soul, but NOPE! No pictures allowed but someone who left a review took a picture and posted it. Where's your response to them to scold them? You're so all about "respecting" the artists by shaming people that are just looking and can't appreciate their work. Btw based on multiple sources from searching "gallery etiquette" to educate myself and verify what this guy said, because I was listening respectfully - this guy is just a jerk (to put it nicely). Google is free. Don't let him fool you.

Good thing because we found the exact same thing at several tourist gift shops for $50-60.

In addition he has collaborated with Patagonia, Hawaiian Airlines, and Jamba Juice, as well as had his art comissioned for various locations throughout the islands. As it was super crowed, I wasn't able to make a decision. Luckily he invited me to a Pau Hana event at this studio/store in Kailua right next to the Whole Foods store. At the store, it was super easy to visualize the various sizes and different frames available. They had prints as low as $26 for 12 by 18 travel prints, as well as canvas wrap and large prints. A wide variety of frames including wood, whitewash and Monkeypod wood. Ultimately we were able to decide on a few prints with the help of Nick and Dale at the studio, and chose a frame that we found suitable. We can't wait to get these on our walls to show them off.

It's unfortunate because art and creativity should be accessible to people of all ages! Anyway, we browsed the different pieces and I settled on a $20 print of a painting of an unconventionally beautiful Hawaiian woman holding a mango in her hands while standing beneath a mango tree.
