Is my acrylic "amaumau fern" gallery-worthy?

Art is therapy. There's something peaceful about painting. Every stroke, no matter which media, captures a feeling that cannot be described with words. When you put every ounce of energy and emotion on canvas.....oh, it's such a release. I'm sure that everyone at Pow! Wow! Hawai'i has a similar story....passionate about creativity and expressing imagination. I love that this place supports art on a grand scale. During the opening reception of this year's festival, we walked around to see artists in action. Some viewers interrupted artists to take their photo with murals in progress. We enjoyed browsing the gallery and listening to the DJ. Congrats on your 10th annual festival! Great job everyone, your opening reception was a lot of fun!

Review #200! Every February is Pow Wow! The streets of kakaako (Auahi Street, Cooke Street, Keawe Street and more streets) and salt area are updated for different murals. 2020 was the 10th annual event in Hawaii. Artists local and from all over the world have a "wall" on many different businesses to create their art piece. I went on Saturday, Feb. 15 for the finale block party, endless summer jam night two, and paradise soccer club and kicks to the pitch tournament. All these events occurred 6-10pm ... I parked around 5:30 pm near Longs Drugs in Kakaako and walked the two blocks. Some people are there early to look at the artists, take photos with the artists and more. Look online http://www.powwowworldwide.com for the schedule at different cities and what they have for the two weeks usually scheduled. The finale block party had live concert, food trucks, live art, artist signing autographs in books or tote bags. They gave a tote bag by the tokidoki artist but the line was really long so I avoided that. The vendors sold shirts, food, stickers, art and many more. I got food from Banan. The monster tent was giving away free cans of monster and Heineken was passing out free beer cans with ID at one location. The endless summer jam night two was in SALT that had a stage for rappers, break dancers which they had a battle and music shows. The location at SALT is referred to as "The Barn" right by Orange Theory and Moku restaurant. The paradise soccer club and kicks to pitch tournament had indoor soccer tournament in "the barn." They had netting so the soccer ball wouldn't fly all over and it was like 3 vs 3 with a small goal net. Such a fun experience to watch artists, talk to artist, hear live music and DJ with breakdancing. Look forward to this event every year.

Alas, the annual Pow! Wow! Hawaii 2018 is winding down..it's always fun to see all the graffiti art in Kakaako, but there's something extra special about meeting the actual artists and watching them in action. Definitely take a Biki ride around the area, snap some artsy selfies in front of the murals along cooke and auahi st, and end your trip at Salt and indulge in some Butterfly ice cream!!

Street Artists UNITE!!! As explained by Jasper Wong himself: "The name comes from Comic Book Culture." POW!-"Represents the immense impact a piece of art can have on a viewer" WOW!-"Signifies a person's reaction to that art." Entering its fifth year, POW! WOW! Hawaii is a massive gathering of contemporary artists form all over the world that helps bring the community together through the expression and creation of art. The first one was in Hong Kong in 2010, But he decided to take it back to his hometown. Awesome move!!! Founder and Lead Director Jasper Wong and Co-Lead Director Kamea Hadar are the driving forces of the Pow! Wow! movement, and every year, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Since 2011, street artists from all around the globe have been gathering every beginning of February in Kaka'ako, transforming plain walls into masterpieces of art. This two week gathering of exhibitions, panel discussions, and shows on art, media, music, and culture culminates in a massive block party and a "Secret Walls" showdown at nearby Lana Lane Studios, another one of Mr. Wong's most recent ventures. It is totally amazing to see what these artists are able to express in just a few days with brushes, markers, and spray paint cans, and if you happen to be in town next February and love street art, music, and culture, do not miss the opportunity to come down to experience POW! WOW! Hawaii! ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5 To learn more about POW! WOW! This is probably one of my places in Oahu! I'd recommend if you're into street art and want lots of photo ops. I always make sure I stop by every time I'm back in Hawaii to see the new murals they have up!

An annual event (not just a one shot) in Honolulu. Come see some of the most outstanding examples of creative artwork in the Kakaako area. Starter review which will be expanded.

Like, the size of my pink nail. And the smallest acrylic stand. They didn't know the price, so the manager came over to look it up and even said out loud that the lowest price for acrylic stands was $1.25. So they charged me...$2.50. Yeah. That alone made up my mimd about never going back there again. Tourist trap, hoping to lure the ignorant and making them pay the Hawaii tax for sub-par gemstones.

Whether it's to enjoy the sunrise/sunset, calming ocean waves sounds, or a hike at any of our beautiful trails we are so blessed to basically have it all year round. Through crafting I've always been involved with crystals and power stone, even with travels in Japan it's huge there. Each stone does have it's representation individually or together here you can certainly find it in many shapes, sizes and ways to display them it's just your inspiration to create. I didn't have the most pleasant experience at the Kailua location but this one here newly opened in October was just a delight as there were many available staff at your convenience if you had any questions though they have many information for each crystals of it's information and prices are clearly noted. On this visit I just browsed to see what they have and they do have a wonderful variety considering the small size of their shop which is located on the street level steps away from the Center Stage in Ala Moana Center. Nothing really stood out for me until I noticed at the Rose Quartz section which is always a popular choice with my friends but it was a massage rod which I though would be great since I do work with my hands as not only it's beautiful cooling as well...after I took the pic I noticed the background lol! omg!! Well it is Rose Quartz the representation of love and emotional healing. Love seeing something different in this mall filled with food courts Kailua Crystals shines bright offering calming vibe in this stressed filled earth. Thank you!
