Last time got the Veggie Ramen. A bunch of noodles in shoyu broth. That's a broth made from soy. Came with lots of vegetables full of flavor. There was cabbage, cilantro, eggs which I left off, marinated bean sprouts, mushrooms, radish, scallions, and tofu. Filling bowls. It's kind of expensive but these are bowls packed full of stuff. In said review, I docked them a star for a disproportionate number of spots having sandwiches by any other name. I even went into Excel and made a pie-chart (true to form as a man in finance!) With Washington Hall, I could create a pie chart, but I don't see a reason to. Their offerings are still growing, but even with what's available now, the selection is awesome. Just going from memory, there is Indian, pizza, wings, hot dogs, Latin-American, Greek, and a Stan's Donuts (and probably a few I missed). The hall, including the restrooms are clean, and there is ample seating, plus more upstairs. The vibe is open and airy. Not as pretty or unique as Sterling, but I'm not really complaining - as long as it's clean and not depressing, I don't care that much. I am looking forward to making my way through trying all the spots within, and giving the bar a go when it opens. Hopefully most of the food vendors will be open in the evening.

The place itself is kinda hectic and yeah, the wait was a bit long, but once the food came out I forgot about that pretty fast. I ordered the Gyudon with domestic wagyu. Came with miso soup, yellow radish, and pickled cabbage. First bite, incredible... The beef was insanely flavorful. Super tender, almost melting. You get that rich fatty wagyu taste, but it's balanced by this savory-sweet sauce that soaks into the rice underneath. Every bite had juice and flavor, the onions and sauce just wrapped around the meat perfectly. I kept telling myself I'd slow down but suddenly the bowl was empty. Portion was solid. Felt filling without being heavy. The staff was really nice, and I liked that you can actually see the food before ordering. The neon market vibe almost makes you forget you're in Chicago for a second. I'm definitely coming back for that beef again.

I ordered from the kiosk and the domestic wagyu donburi was delicious. Although the portion size doesn't look enormous, this is packed full of rice with a generous amount of beef. The beef brisket texture was fairly good, but the flavor was excellent with just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness in a sauce full of umami. The sliced wagyu beef was even better, perfectly tender and flavorful. Surprisingly the miso soup was full of flavor, and went great with the toasted garlic, pickle radish, pickle cabbage, and tamago. Despite being sides, these were all done very well. Overall, worth coming here for the delicious wagyu donburi. You get a generous sized portion that's delicious and very reasonably priced.

This place is supposedly a high end mall, and I am 100% see the vision. There are 10 floors I believe, but it's only 2-4 stores per floor. They forget to put stores on certain floors in the directory as well. The highlight of the mall in my opinion was the American Girl place. It's large, and really informative and fun. I walked around a bit and they have a decent spread of stores. Fashion. Accessories. Toys. They even have an art gallery. I didn't talk to anyone, really. I shopped at Aeropostale, one of my favorite brands, looked around and that concluded my trip. It's a nice place for people touring, but don't make way for it while planning your trip. Think of it as a plan B. If I lived in Chicago, I wouldn't see this mall as a regular place to shop.
