The owner Alyssa and the other instructor I've seen are both super encouraging and refused to let me give up/watch from the side lines and gave tips on how to adapt moves to my skill level. I especially appreciated it in a particular class where I didn't think I was physically capable of a particular move and was able to get it with some assistance. I'll definitely be back and I also love that the classes in a package don't expire, which is great since its hard for me to find classes that fit around my work schedule and other classes. The class sizes are great (8 max for most classes) and the students have all been supportive and friendly.

I called The Toy Box and the spoke with the owner. She invited me to the studio the following week to try out a class & ask all the questions I needed. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner who instructs all the classes. The other women in the class greeted me too, and they all were encouraging and welcoming. The prices for classes were affordable. I signed up for 4 classes a month (once a week). That was 2 years ago and I still look forward to going to my weekly class at the Toy Box. You can sign up for multiple classes a week. The studio does not have windows and is private. Students are on their own pole for the whole hour. Classes are limted to 7 students Due to small classes the instructor is able to provide one on one instruction. Classes focus on teaching the sport of pole dance with a focus on acrobatics on a verticle pole. Individual instruction is given based on a students level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The instructor and other students are encouraging. The other women in the classes are fun supportive and at times silly. I had hardly no upper body strength and absolutely no formal dance or gynamstic ability when I walked into the studio my first day. The instructor started me with the basics, gave me tips on what I was doing in error and making moves more difficult for myself, and encouraged me. Through pole fitness I gained muscle tone, strenght, flexibility, confidence (it feels incredible when you are able to master a challenging move and do combos). I also gained friends and a sense of empowerment. The studio has offered special event workshops that are in addition to classes for students who are interested. These workshops are at the Toy Box and hosted by Pole Fitness Champions. The most recent being Veronica Solimano and Natasha Wang (have you youtubed these women, wow!). The classes here are great for anyone who wants to learn pole fitness, improve skills they may already have and be in a supportive fun enviornment.

I've only tried the mat classes so can't speak to their several other class types. There's always something new in the mat classes so never repetitive and target different strengths. Primarily only taken classes with Heather and really like her style! She's easy to follow and has a nice tone to her instruction. She's really flexible and nice about scheduling and using the package too. I've seen a few deals (Living Social & Groupon) around too so makes it more affordable to try out.

Being educated from a third-party is better than trying to learn from your own parents. For mental reasons, the third-party instruction is more forgiving to your child. Their prices are comparable to most, but by far, are more advanced than other courses around us. Their driving instructors are also law enforcement officers still serving or retired. The driving instructor completely lost his cool before even leaving the parking lot and continued to do so multiple times making the situation progressively worse. We heard from another new driver to avoid Brad S. at all cost, but didn't catch it in time. In my opinion, if the instructor is instigating and escalating a hostile driving environment, using bullying tactics while in a position of authority over minors, it's time to find other employment. I called and left an angry parent message and the office called me back and was very polite and a couple days later the owner called and said he'd look into the situation and took the incident very seriously.
