Literally the best experience from start to finish!!! Parking lot isn't huge but don't really need one big because it's only a few appointments at a time! This was my very 1st place going to try on bridal gowns and it truly was an amazing experience!! I had the owners daughter she seriously was the sweetest peach ever!! We went to this store today to look for a formal dress for an upcoming event. The parking situation is kind of terrible. There are not nearly enough parking spots for the amount of people in the store! They had 1 dress in my size. We had been there a few weeks ago and there was an extensive selection at that time. I was with my daughter-in-law to be looking at wedding dresses, and I found the most beautiful dress for the wedding! Even though I had to travel an hour and half, it was well worth it. Service was excellent, when the dress came in it needed a few alterations. When I went back and tried it on it fit perfectly! I even found earrings to match. This was my best experience at a bridal shop. I certainly will travel there again in the future. They are so friendly and it is a third generation boutique. I highly recommend Lilla's. read more

If I could give a zero star review, I would (and I hate nothing more than to leave a poor review because I love to support local businesses). If you can picture how Julia Roberts felt on Rodeo Drive in Pretty Woman, that's exactly what my mom, sister in law, and I felt when we were greeted as we walked in the door to my bridal appt. When I made the appt. and even when Lilla's called to confirm, I was told to arrive early so I could look at bridesmaid gowns in preparation for my bridesmaid appt. in February since having 7 bridesmaids was clearly an issue from the start. The associate was extremely rude from the beginning and even rude to another colleague in the store. It was very uncomfortable looking through bridesmaid dresses to narrow options down when we had a half hour before my appt to do so. The associate had some not so nice comments she should have kept to herself, especially when she told me, "as you can see, we can't accommodate 7 bridesmaids". The associate was not very nice to my mom and sister in law. I feel as though we were very easy to deal with considering I went in excited with a very open mind. I gave feedback of what styles I liked, but was very open to the associate's suggestions. I tried on several dresses and only one was meh. The associate actually told me to "suck it in" as she zipped up one of the gowns which was the icing on the cake. She didn't go out of her way to help make the dress look put together or offer any feedback. She pulled styles that I clearly wasn't loving. For anyone who knows me, knows that I am outgoing, kind, open to suggestions, and I was ready to spend money on a gown at Lilla's. I didn't have a budget for a gown as I was there to find the perfect gown for me regardless of price. I couldn't get out of that appt. fast enough. I was quiet the entire time and felt very defeated. I wanted so badly to support a local business and somewhere my sister in law and her mom got their wedding gowns. I didn't have that "aha" moment in any of the gowns. One I sort of liked, but not enough to drop $2K on it. At the end of the appt., she said "oh, you're not purchasing a gown tonight?" I'm not sure where in my body language she read that I was even excited at that point. I responded kindly that I needed to sleep on it since I felt overwhelmed. The point is, I didn't expect the red carpet to be rolled out, but the rudeness and lack of customer service totally ruined the experience you dream of as a little girl and that every mother dreams of for their daughter. I ended up cancelling my bridesmaid appt at Lilla's and having a better experience in Carlisle, a bridal shop that only has two fitting rooms and welcomed us with open arms. In fact I had tears in my eyes when I thanked the owner of the bridal shop for making it an unforgettable experience. I never wanted my bridesmaids to feel what I felt at Lilla's so I took our business elsewhere. As a wise woman once said, "Big mistake! Big! Huge!" I wish I could have left a better review for Lilla's because I dreamt of finding my gown there and would have loved nothing more than to support a local business. read more

If I could give Lilla's 20 stars I would! 5 stars is not nearly enough for the amount of magic and generosity from the wonderful staff in this sweet spot in York. Lilla's is the go-to spot for bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and much more--including a wonderful experience. I have been a bridesmaid in two weddings where we had appointments at Lilla's for trying on dresses. Both times we ordered beautiful Bill Levkoff dresses, they accommodated all my alteration needs and were wonderful throughout the entire process from scheduling to pick-up of my pressed dress ready for the day. This year it was my turn as the bride getting ready for my 2019 wedding. We had an appointment and I was overwhelmed and unsure of what to do, I ended up picking a dress that I wasn't 100% set on after trying on multiple dresses. Fast forward a few weeks, I couldn't stop thinking of a slightly over budget dress that was absolutely stunning. I called Diana at the store begging to see if there was anything that we could do to cancel the order so I could order the dress I couldn't stop thinking about. Diana was so amazing and she got estimated alterations for the new dress from her mom (Lilla), called the company to cancel my order with lots of persuasion from her, and called me back so we could set another time for me to come in and try it on again. I honestly don't know many places that would make so much effort to help someone out changing her mind almost two weeks later. This gesture was SO appreciated and I really couldn't thank her enough. I went back for my second dress appointment and decided to only try on the dress that I kept thinking of, a beautiful Maggie Sottero fit and flare dress. We tried it on with heels and veil and Karen spent so much time answering all of my questions. We really bonded with Karen over our appointment and I am seriously a forever fan of Diana and Lilla. They did not listen to me and when I got a dress, they insisted on ordering it a size up when my wedding was less than 6 months away and I'm someone who's weight doesn't fluctuate much. Well it did not fit correctly and their seamstress completely botched it. I took it to NY where the wedding was and had it fixed for $400 because the botched alterations caused double the work for the lady compared to just regular alterations. They also never got back to me when I called to complain. I wish I had photos so that it was apparent what she did to the straps bc they were just completely messed up. They also refused to order my dress in moscato which was the color I wanted stating it wasnt an option when I know it was as I checked the designer website and BOLI and confirmed that yes it did exist in moscato. read more

Shopping for a wedding dress has been extremely hard during COVID times, but everyone at Lilla's Bridal has been incredible throughout the whole process! Specifically I would like to shout out Karen for helping me set up a loaner dress, when it arrived, Sam assisted while trying on dresses and was the sweetest! She made me feel so comfortable which is very important. Lastly, Ben has been in constant contact with me as my dress arrived, ordering extra fabric, etc and being so kind while doing so! Lilla's was spacious and clean, everyone was wearing masks, and overall everything with them has been wonderful. Will be recommending to anyone in the York area when dress shopping. After being frustrated with David's Bridal's lack of assistance from staff and prom dress selection, we sat in the parking lot and searched up bridal shops. We found Lilla's and drove over. They don't require appointments for prom dress shopping. The two friendly staff members were quick to greet us and ask my daughter what types of styles and colors she liked. They helped her pick out some dress options and explained how each dress could be adjusted to work for her. There were plenty of lovely unique dresses to chose from in the sizes my daughter needed. The two ladies were juggling several girls trying on dresses with ease and efficiency. The staff really made the shopping experience pleasant. We took pictures of each dress my daughter liked so she could think them over if she couldn't decide while there. She didn't have to leave empty handed because the associate found a perfect dress for my daughter. Thank you so much for turning our day around! read more

Do not come here if you purchase your wedding dress elsewhere and need alterations. My wife did, and it was a nightmare. 1. After working on the dress and having problems, the lady told us that the dress was disgusting and that she didn't even want to work on it. She should have said up front that she was not able to work on this dress if it was too complex for her. 2. The bustle was not put in correctly, noticed the day before the wedding. They were not helpful at all over the phone, acting like like the bride didn't know what she was looking at and insisted that the bustle was in. The maid of honor missed the rehearsal to go to the boutique and get it fixed. While there, the only helpful girl in the store gave a personal business card to her to do work outside of the store. The kicker, the owner denies that anyone was ever there to get the bustle fixed. 3. They broke the zipper on the dress, but insisted it wasn't their fault. 4. They got the wrong veil and proceeded to sell it to my wife anyways. They said it was because it was packaged up and they didn't notice it was wrong, when in actuality the veil was not in any packaging when they gave it to her. 5. The owner tried to bargain with her when she found out we had a business card from one of her workers. She would "help us out" if we gave her the card, but wouldn't say how she would help. Overall, the owner of the store is very rude, unprofessional, and lies to you to cover up any problems. They dispute all low reviews on other websites so they get hidden and their rating looks higher than it really is. I recommend that you avoid this place, especially for an occasion as important and special as a wedding. You don't need the added stress. read more

I am writing as the bride on behalf of two of my bridesmaids, and the mother of the bride. I ordered 2 long bridesmaids dresses and a shorter, lace MOB dress for my wedding in Arizona (my family is from PA). While Diana is nicer to work with and is accommodating, we had a terrible experience with alterations, which are performed by Lilla. All three dresses had something or another wrong with it--to include the bottom of the dress being up to 1 inch uneven on either side, to the bodice literally falling apart with a slight pull. It was so upsetting to me to see the dresses in the condition they were, and having to reconsider purchasing new dresses weeks before my wedding. It caused so much stress. While one dress was reimbursed the alterations, the other was not at all and the third was only partially reimbursed. Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend going to Lilla's Bridal for any service, especially when we spent approx. $900. It caused so much (unneeded) stress very close to my wedding. During the wedding day, the one bridesmaids dress snapped at the top bodice and it was noticeable that my sisters were uncomfortable the entire night. My other sister had to keep pulling the strapless dress up because it kept falling down while dancing. My mother had to wear an entirely new dress. read more

I bought my wedding dress from Lilla's and was highly pleased with the service I received. I showed Lilla a picture of the dress I had in mind, and although they didn't have that particular dress, she pulled one that was even more stunning. The staff was very friendly and even let me come in just to try my dress on for my mother-in-law. You definitely pay more for a gown here than you would at David's Bridal, but it's worth it for the high level of customer service and beautiful selection of high quality gowns. I LOVE this boutique. All dresses are reasonably priced AND the fittings are fantastic. They work with you to create your dream dress. The dress that I found there was ALMOST perfect, I just wanted to add a sweetheart neckline. Not a lot of choices if you're bigger than a size 10 in terms of prom or homecoming dresses. My mom had said the owner was rude and pushy when she came to look for a wedding dress, clearly nothing has changed in 20 years. The owner weaseled her way to my dressing room while I was halfway out of the second dress and basically hovered the whole time. She kept pressuring me to buy dresses. I get you have a business to run, but it just made me uncomfortable. The employee my age kind of looked embarrassed and I don't blame her. It was going well without the owner jumping in. I ended up leaving before trying on the last few dresses I had because I was really just exhausted with her. read more

When my bridal party and I walked in, there was no one to greet us & no one asked if they could help (no "front desk" by the entrance - signage directed you to the back building doors). Eventually someone asked me "Are you the (I can't recall the name) party?", to which I replied "No, but we've been waiting for my appointment for about 5 minutes". The lady said "Oh." and just walked away! Eventually another lady began helping us (over 10 minutes after we arrived). I told her exactly what I was looking for based on trying on gowns previously. Instead of helping me find dresses based on what I told her I was looking for, or suggest anything they had in store, she told us to "browse their selection (which is not organized in any way by shape, material, etc. other than sale vs normal priced) and to tell her if there's any that I like. So we had to do all the work while she wandered off not paying attention to us in a fairly small and very crowded room. Once I began trying on dresses, she didn't offer to get a strapless bra for me (I forgot mine). I asked if they had one I could use and she replied that she could get one but it probably wouldn't look good with the dresses I was looking at trying on anyways. Yes the dresses were lower in the back & I realize the bra may show but the one I had on was bright blue. I'm not really a fan of a stranger seeing my lady bits, so I was stuck wearing my bright blue bra that showed through every dress I tried on. The icing on the cake was a little kid almost barging in on me half naked while I was waiting for help putting on a dress. Even if I would have found a dress I liked there I would have definately gone elsewhere to buy it. read more

I purchased 3 dresses here for three different upcoming events including a 10 year vow renewal ceremony in Jamaica. The vow renewal dress came in first and I had a long bridal gown shortened to knee length. Trying it on after the first alteration it was clear that the dress looked very different and the low back that I originally fell in love with was almost mid back now. I pointed out these issues to Lilla and she told me that I was wrong and that it wasn't her fault, it was the fact that I needed the straps shortened that changed the silhouette of the dress (so basically it's my fault). Also she added bra cups even though I specifically told her I did not want them, because she felt I needed them. I paid $1400 for the dress plus $350 in alterations only to be so stressed out about finding a new dress weeks before leaving the country. A few more alterations were made but it was never my 'dream' dress again. I took my other two dresses home and will have them altered elsewhere. read more

I am part of a wedding and the bride picked dresses from this store. I went for a fitting and all was well. I was not called when the dress came in but found out through the bride that the dresses had been in which was frustrating. I got the dress home and the sleeves need two inches removed and the bottom almost 7inches. The dress is uncomfortably tight. I am very frustrated as the dress was almost $300. I can't get over the fact that I was measured! It fit so poorly. I expected more, much more for the price paid. I do not trust to get alterations by them so during prom season I will be looking elsewhere in hopes to have it completed in time. I was looking for a " mother of the groom dress". I searched many places with very little luck. There are very few dresses to try on at the shops I visited here in the Baltimore area and the dresses available and labeled mother of the groom were old and frumpy. I Searched the web and found Lilla's on East Market Street in York, Pa. I drove the 45 minutes to York and was met at the door by Karen. I was extremely pleased to find several rooms full of dresses. Karen spent several hours showing me a variety of different materials and styles to find the look I had in mind. Karen was great and a tremendous help. I picked a dress that I loved for the color but the dress needed alterations to make it into the dress that would flatter me and meet my criteria. I was measured and I made an appointment to come back and get fitted for the final alterations. I had 4 weeks to the wedding day so Karen was kind enough to get me in for the fitting (it was also prom season). The seamstress who is from Italy ( love her. Sorry I cannot remember her name) was fabulous and expert at her job. She took my suggestions and made the necessary alterations. The dress turned out to be beautiful and the alterations and fit were flawless. I received the highest of compliments from everyone! I also had the opportunity to meet Lilla and her daughter, both lovely and helpful. Everyone at the store is courteous, the choices are many and the prices are great including the alterations. read more

I had purchased my wedding gown elsewhere without ever having visited this boutique due to distance. Two weeks prior to my wedding, I contacted Lilla's looking desperately for extra buttons for my Stella York gown after my seamstress removed and lost them. Karen was extremely personable, prompt with her responses and extremely generous. She was able to find several buttons that matched and mailed them to me without charge. I went in March 2015 to be fitted for a bridesmaid dress. The dresses arrived in late July and when I went to pick mine up, I noticed that they had ordered me a size 6 when I am a size 2. When I tried on the dress it was obviously enormous so I asked if they would include alterations since this was clearly their error. I was told they don't do that and it would be $60 just to hem the gown - which did not fit in the shoulders, bust, waist, or length. I paid $250 for a gown that does not fit any part of my body, which I now have to have completely re-built by another tailor because I am not giving this business one more dollar of my money. read more
