The ceremony itself…read morewas held in a small clearing in Heartwood forest and then you walk down a short distance where the cocktail hour/dinner area is set up. Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.

This place is nestled in the beautiful woods outside Yosemite national park so you know already what to expect. This place is the perfect backdrop for a fairy tale wedding, the views are amazing. The sun setting at the perfect time, the sun peeking though the trees DREAMY!

This year, I decided to finally host my daughter's birthday party here--and it was the BEST decision! July birthdays can be tough with the extreme heat, and in the past my guests would complain about other venues being too hot. Not this time! Everyone was so comfortable and happy, and I kept getting compliments on how perfect the hall was. From the very beginning, Cynthia was incredibly kind and attentive during our walk-through. She made sure everything was exactly what I needed. The hall itself is spacious enough that we were able to have: 2 jumpers and outdoor seating Taco catering and even our horse trailer bar outside Face painters and activity tables inside 6 snack carts, a balloon setup, and a photo booth--all with plenty of room to spare! My family and friends were blown away by how much we could fit without feeling crowded. The space truly made the party smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. I cannot rave enough about this place--it's seriously a MUST if you're hosting an event. I will definitely be booking here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect venue!

From the check in to the restaurant staff, all of it 1st rate! Opted for suite this time and it was so worth it! Super comfortable, the bed was cozy and perfect. Slept like a cat (cat ppl know what I mean). Rush Creek is especially great if you have small children. Lots of activities on the property plus there's a massive pool to cool off in or heck...do some zip lining. What kid doesn't like that? The restaurant on the property is still great! Plenty of options and the beer and wine selection (or boozier cocktails) are still a win. I recommend the bowl of chili! Overall, yeah it's a bit of a drive from the Yosemite valley if that's what you want to do...BUT... there is tons of stuff to explore on this side of the park as well. Staying at Rush Creek has allowed our family to visit new sites and trails that we'd probably not be motivated to see if staying in the valley. I can't recommend Rush Creek Lodge and spa enough! Great service that leaves a lasting impression for future visits. See you there!

The manager and her hostesses were very sufficient and friendly. We got an outdoor table. We loved their selection of mocktaiks and tried a few though their specialty cocktails were also very good. My son tried What the Fig. My wife had Piba-Co- N ada. I had the Magar- Bada. Fior apoetizers, we had the Wild Mushroom Flatbread, which was delicious. We also had a board of Californua Cheese, the Smoked Wings, and the Crispy Cauliflower, which appears just like Firecracker Shrimp. I loved the Bison Chilli, but I got so stuffed afterward and had to oack my Fish n Chip to go. King Salson with bok chop and mushroom was great. Cicopini, which has several seafood with garlic bread sticks in tomato sauce was impressive. Mushroom Regu and Beet Sakad were delicioysly perfect for vegans Our servers were super friendly on a busy night. We were so glad to find this place on our trip to Yosemite. Reservations are highly recommended.
