We had a one night stay here. Overall its okay. Some things can improve. First, on the day of check in, I received an email that my credit card was not accepted and that I have to call the hotel to confirm my booking. I never had this exprience in any other hotel. I called and they asked for my card details and the booking is confirmed. Is this usual process? It caused anxiety, is this the way how the hotel comfirms the guest is coming? Hoping for a response on this. Second, security latch in our room is broken. This is a security issue, even though there is a digital lock. I had to place the chairs on our door for 'more' security. Third, soap and shampoo in the shower are almost empty. I tried to use it but nothing comes out in the push bottle. Didnt bother to ask, luckily I brought my own toiletries. Fourth, top of refrigerator is dusty. Front desk lady was accommodating. Beds and sheets are clean. We had a room on the second floor on building 3. read more

Last night someone tried to enter our room using a key, but the safety latch stopped them. We also tried calling the front desk multiple times and got no answer. That's a serious safety concern Update to response: If you'd like I can send you the VIDEO of your staff informing me they do NOT have a key log or any way to track who could have made a key.Also that you do NOT have any on site camera, only in the main office. You also do NOT have a call log to show of me calling the office and emergency number for over half an hour. And telling me there is nothing they can do. Our door was 100% closed before another key was used to open it. I am very cautious of MY safety which is why I had the safety lock on and the roller chair in front of the door. Please do NOT accuse me of not caring about my safety while your hotel can't even answer a phone, keep a key log, or have cameras to protect their guests. read more

Was in town for a quick two night stay. I booked directly on the lodge's website (2 queen standard). Check-in was smooth and easy. There are quite a few parking spots too, but we did stay on a Wednesday-Friday. We were luckily given a room on the second floor, so we didn't hear any hard footsteps through the walls. I also didn't hear much noise from adjoining rooms either and had a good sleep. AC worked quite well - it could be a tad loud at times. The room itself was quite clean when we arrived. Mostly everything worked well (we never used the tv or housekeeping). There were some things that could be improved in the room - nothing quite major but worth noting: - The toilet paper in the bathroom was not brand new. It was almost 75% used. - There was also a tissue box under the bathroom sink which also seemed 90% used as it ran out after using 2-3 tissues. - The drain in the shower could not be propped up by itself. It would always fall back down, so I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like that or we couldn't prop it up correctly. Other than that, the room was good. read more

Checked in at 10:40pm and got charged a freaking huge late fee for being late check in by an extremely rude hotel manager. room is dirtier than my used laundry. disgusting. highly recommend to avoid if you can. doing this as a PSA for anyone that is considering. read more

The only negative: when I went into the office, the nice lady that was trying to help me was in the process of being berated by someone that apparently is a manager, but does not understand what customer service is about. He interrupted her, told me to wait until he was done haranguing her. This happened on two visits to the office during our stay. For goodness sakes mister, let the nice lady do her job. read more

I was charged double for the room despite a clear error in the booking system. Even my credit card company called to help clear the error, but the manager would not refund the charge. Taking money for a service not rendered is disgraceful, and I would never recommend the company to a friend. There's no telling what other poor business practices are to be encountered there. We liked everything about this place, it's proximity to the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite National Park, the room (clean, spacious, comfortable), the Lucky Buck Cafe next door with great V/VG dining choices, and even minor details that others have mentioned (piping hot water in the showers, the playground for kids, the large number of charging outlets for our phones/laptops), and the breathtaking view of the stars if you drive just 2 mins away.. We would most certainly stay here again, and heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay close to Yosemite ! read more

This review is half and half, part good, part bad. And I don't like giving negative reviews. First, the good. This motel is very clean, rooms are updated, all the bedding linens, pillows and bathroom towels are fairly new and very respectable. The water pressure is strong, hot water immediate and the bathrooms are huge. The grounds are well kept and overall, this is a great place to stay, especially if you're a Yosemite visitor. It's only about 40 minutes from the gate. Now the bad. I find the management to be rude. It's not the best trait to be in the hospitality business and this is after an encounter with the same man on two different occasions months apart. A quote from Stephen King, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us." There won't be a third time, unless I'm stuck in a snowstorm and there aren't any other choices, but it'll feel like walking barefoot on broken glass. Good luck to you future guests. The heater was not working, when we checked out and told the man working he said yes it does and we just don't know how to work it. I told him yes I know how to use a heater, it was blowing cold air. He brushed us off and didn't care that that was a bad experience at his lodge. It's bad customer service to disregard our complaint as nothing to him. I'm guessing the man is the owner or management. The reply letter they send out is just a template basically showing they don't care what you have to say. I myself work in customer service and if I have an upset customer, I listen, try to find a solution and offer them something to make them know I understand. read more

A lot can be said... the staff are simply stellar. The location is amazing and amazingly affordable, let alone for a place so close to Yosemite. Proximity to the Lucky Buck Cafe makes for a great start to the day or closure after a long day at the park. Onsite charging makes EV visits super easy. One final point - I got a real pleasant nostalgia memory as the place reminded me of a place my family used to stay when we took trips down to Florida from the midwest when I was a kid. We stayed here for the long weekend in July. Perfect location to West entrance about 12 miles. The front desk lady was courteous and gave us a room immediately with all details needed. We stayed 5 nights and out of that only 1 night I got a good sleep, the refrigerator in our room was very loud when it turned on. I raised it with the front desk and she asked the maintenance crew to look at it, but they never did. When I spoke to the manager (Poonam) she did not even hear me or her worker clearly and just shook her head saying, NO WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, JUST UNPLUG the unit and sleep. We had food which needed to be in the fridge. The wifi was also very spotty barely worked for 30 mins in a day. And guess what the manager said, NO WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Poonam was very rude to me and to her worker telling us both we don't know what we are talking about. Most people I saw stayed for only 1 night. Only reason to go will be for the location, nice restaurant next good and Electric charging station. read more

We booked with AAA and we checked with this lodge's $150.00 deposit to get our reserved room which the desk representative gave us a handicapped room. The room was spacious but the floor could have been cleaner especially under the beds, (I dropped an earring which rolled under the bed). The property was cleaned and quiet since the winter season started, we felt safe. The lodge served our needs for economical stay so close to Yosemite. read more

The woman who greeted me at the desk was excellent. She found me a room that met my needs perfectly. She interacted with me and the many people that came in and out showing respect to each and everyone. She was calm, welcoming, and warm each individual. Very rude and would not recommend! I came to stay and accidentally locked myself out of my room. I went down to ask for help to see if he would come down and open my room. He, the middle eastern man, replied with, "It's not my job" in a very berating manner. Staying at the Yosemite Westgate Lodge for our first time was okay at best. The room that we stayed in was clean. The bed wasn't that comfortable though, being stiff and firm. The last night we stayed, there was a group of motorcycles that arrived towards the closing hours of the office, which is 10pm. They were loud and disruptive, not taking other guests into consideration. They stayed in the room next to ours, being loud with their conversations and movements. We attempted to call the front desk, but the office is closed after 10pm and no one is around. The disruptive guests didn't quiet down until after 1am. After we checked out, we saw a sign that said to call management after hours on a special phone that was outside of the office. It was very frustrating to see that as it would have been more useful if posted within the room. Another thing that was misleading was their advertisement that they're located 12 miles from Yosemite National Park. In fact, the motel is located 12 miles from the gate of Yosemite National Park. Yosemite Valley, where all the sites are, is actually an hour away. Thankfully we scoped everything out the day before we planned to explore Yosemite, saving us from wasting time. If you stay here, I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to get settled in and to see the sites. read more

Very nice looking facility, but the management is Rude and Aggressive and very hard to locate even though they live upstairs, our heater blew cold air and the room had a portable heater in it, the Floors made my feet black, meaning they dont clean the floors, the bathroom was not cleaned the whole time we stayed there, our TV didnt work and they wanted us to fix it, then they blamed the satellite, but i went to the office right next to our room and it was working fine, the safe would not lock, they NEVER offered us a room change, until I called Booking.com, they emailed them and within 20 minutes, he calls rudely to change rooms, it was 930pm and we were already in bed... NEVER had such rude customer service, the weeds around the place were over a foot tall, all I can walk away from the place with, is Disorganized, RUDE, aggressive, worse customer service from the Patels.... avoid, avoid, avoid. this lodge is in a fairly close location to Yosemite national park, that's the only positive. The room was unremarkable, but acceptable, it was clean. The bed was extremely lumpy, feels like it's 100 years old, and sunk down making it hard to sleep, killing my back. The first night there was some kind of issue with the water heater for our building. That meant that the next morning NO HOT WATER. No shower. And, the water pressure for the sink was down to a trickle. We could not flush the toilet. This went on until the following day. Speaking with management was extremely frustrating. The gentleman at the front desk was rude, and defensive. When I asked if he was the manager he lied. (Come to find out from the front desk gal, that he was the manager). To top it all off, NO TOWELS after the first day. Apparently the delivery didn't come..... so no towels to use at the pool, no towels to wash ourselves. the management could have cared less. Being in the hospitality business, ABSOLUTELY NO HOSPITALITY TO SPEAK OF! when we asked for an adjustment to our bill, we were given a fake email address, which of course gave us no response. When we asked the managers name, he refused to give us his name. No recourse..... so be prepared, no towels, no hot water, no cold water, no showers and no one cared.... I will never stay here again. I would give this place a zero star if I could. This place has horrible customer service! I booked this reservation months ago and the day before we were supposed to arrive CalTrans is showing the roads are closed and we can not get to the location. I called in the morning the day before our set to arrival and the gentleman that answered was completely rude and said he is not a weatherman and doesn't know what the road conditions will be. All I wanted to know was if I couldn't get to the hotel the day of my reservation would I be able to get my money back. Since the gentleman was no help I called Expedia who I booked my reservation with and the supervisor called the hotel and stated that the gentleman who answered was completely rude to her also and he has no idea what the road conditions will be. I called the hotel back and the hotel supervisor was completely rude, she kept interrupting me when I was trying to speak and pretty much called me a liar cause she said that the roads were open and she doesn't know what I'm talking about by saying they were closed. I told her over and over that google maps and caltrans are both showing the roads are closed due to a landslide and I did not want to make a 4 hr drive with 4 young children to not be able to get to the hotel. After the experience I received over the phone over my dead body would I ever stay at this location or recommend anyone to stay here. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there would not be one available the whole day that the front desk supervisor was the only one handling the entire hotel. We are here at the beginning of April 2024. Our room was on the second floor of building one. Room was very clean, very quiet, in a very good condition. Two very minor drawbacks: Coffee from the in-room coffee maker was horrible. Front desk lady was, to my great amazement, completely unaware of a nearby landmark called the Dead Giant Tunnel Tree at Tuolumne Grove. Otherwise, everything else was great. read more

Check-in: Arrived the lodge around 730pm, left the park at 5pm because we followed our GPS and it took us to the long way(CA140, 49 then 120). Anyways when we got there's a sign in the office says "Dial the night landline phone to speak to a staff". Did an easy check-in. Room: Got in to our room, we're amazed for the interior look that seems it just got renovated and with nice furnitures. But what I noticed and minus 1 star for this hotel, the garbage by the bathroom was not emptied and still has garbage from the previous people stayed in the room. Also, when we used the bath towels there's pieces of small fabrics coming off and sticked in our hair which means not a good quality of linen or possible old towel that needs to get replaced. Experience: Overall, it's nice especially we have kids they liked the mini playground. And also a restaurant nearby that has good choices of food. read more

We stayed here after two days in Yosemite National Park and before heading north to the wine country in late October. Our room was large and comfortable and was very clean. Do not stay here!!! My sister and I visited Yosemite and booked one night at this lodge.We stopped in on the way to Yosemite at about one in the afternoon and asked if we could check in early because we didn't know if we would make it back before the front desk closed at ten in the evening and they charged us twenty five dollars for an early check in on top of the one hundred and forty dollars for the night. We enjoyed our day at Yosemite and returned to the Lodge at about seven thirty that evening. I took a shower and the hot water ran out so my sister had to take a shower the next morning, an inconvenience but we were okay with that but had a horrible night because the heater didn't work and the room was very cold. Needless to say we were up and down all night because we were so cold and didn't get any sleep at all. In the morning when we checked out we told the man at the front desk about the heater and he was very rude to us telling us that we didn't know how to work the heater and that it worked fine for other guests. When he offered to show us that it worked and we agreed to go with him he changed his mind and told us that we were already checked out. I worked at a hotel for fifteen years and know how to work those heaters and reset them if they are not working and I know how the hospitality business works and have never heard of being charged extra money for an early check in if a room was available. I honestly have to say this is the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, motel or lodge that I have ever stayed at in my life. read more

Very disappointed with this place. We accidentally left a tablet on the bed after we checked out and called the front desk to help us locate it. We told them where we left it and they said they couldn't "find" it. We used a location finder and it showed that it was on premise. The gentleman who talked to us on the phone was extremely rude and did not offer any help whatsoever. Even though the rooms were relatively clean, I will not come back and I will not recommend this place. I rather stay at a place that values integrity and have better customer service. read more
