Lily's is incredible for vegan options in Boone. The tofu bites are so good (as were their predecessor: tempeh wings). The house made potato chips are something special, and at their best (in my opinion) dipped in the house made vegan ranch (vegan Lily's sauce is a close 2nd). Today we got teriyaki tofu nuggets, Buffalo tofu nuggets (both came with the chips and a dipping sauce) along with fried pickles (we got extra dipping sauces). It has a beach/tiki bar vibe inside (albeit slightly dark) with tables and a few parking spots out front. Dog friendly (outside) and even brought a dog bowl of water. We just love this place. Our son is done at APP State but made sure to visit one more time. The Staff is still amazing and so friendly. The vibe is relaxed. My adult kids love the snack wraps and loaded tots. Multiple drinks to choose from and always a few specials going on. There are different events throughout the week so check out their social media. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. It's supposed to be a more fair method where the emcees have random selections, however they seem to be easily persuaded to alter the order. The emcees typically let their friends go more often than others, and the removal of the typical chronological list makes the commitment to a simple night of karaoke particularly egregious.The model does not work and typically leaves patrons disappointed because they spent 4 hours at the bar just to sing once. I would appreciate if staff considered going back to the list signup so that we would know when we would be able to sing again. I think that the new setup has cost the bar significant attendance on Tuesdays, as now it is rarely full and does not cater to people who want to do karaoke within a set timeframe. To start, the ranch waters are a delicious post-hike sweet treat. The service was outstanding at the bar (shoutout Madi). Very knowledgeable about the menu and extremely helpful and conversational! Place is brand new. In the 3 years I've lived here, it's been many different places and I've never stepped inside once. I finally came here last night after hearing rave reviews from friends' friends. Food options are plentiful, and at least what I tasted, it was delicious. Presentation included. I was admittedly tipsy, but I don't think that contributed to how good the food was. The drink options are plentiful and are at a reasonable price -- including a controversial YooHoo mixed drink alcohol (it was delicious but people who didn't taste it thought it looked scary!). The photo booth stole my $5 which pissed me off, but otherwise I had a great time hanging out there. Cutty Bage did fantastic artwork in the restroom. The outside area is nice to hang out on - especially in Boone weather - and there's even air hockey. As an ASU alum and frequent visitor of Boone and the surrounding areas, my husband and I decided to try out Lily's as a pregame option before an ASU basketball game. I must say this is my new favorite place to eat in Boone! Our server was friendly and attentive. The owner stopped by our table to check on us as well. The decor was eclectic and funky and gave off a good vibe. There were so many delicious options for us to choose. We decided to go for it and ordered two appetizers... The buffalo cauliflower with (what looked like) homemade blue cheese dressing and the potato wedges fully loaded. They were both excellent choices and you could tell great care was taken in their preparation. For our main course, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich (cucumber tomato salad as the side) and my husband had the gyro cheesesteak with a side of fried pickles. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The bacon (crispy and plentiful) added a great touch! The tomato cucumber salad added a fresh kick to the meal. The feta and tangy dressing kicked it up a notch. The gyro meat was both flavorful and tender. My husband is a self-proclaimed "connoisseur" of fried pickles and loved them! Reading some reviews we were a little iffy... on first glance looks like a cool local divey joint with a nice outdoor area! We walked In vibe was low key...music was good but loud and we were only here for food and a quick drink as it's like the only place open! We chose outside seating because the music was loud but to our surprise there was an amazing heater and it wasn't as cold as we thought it would be...imfact it wasn't cold at all! I sat and waited fir my husband to get some menus when I saw the C.R.E.A.M. (COPS RUIN EVERYTHING AROUND ME) sticker and while I didn't appreciate the sticker since my husband is an officer and retired military...everyone is entitled to how they feel so it is what it is because the place is clearly a "stoner" college type hang out! Our food came out fairly quickly. I had lily's stack with potato wedges my husband had a burger and it was all absolutely delicious! So delicious! The cook served us and he was amazingly pleasant and was eager to go above and beyond though not necessary at all! The bartender came over and checked on us and she was as sweet , accomodating and as kind as can be! Upon leaving I used the restroom and it was rough to say the least with a broken trash can and urine all over the seat however I mean it's an awesome college spot and it takes a while to potty train puppies. Easily the best bar in Boone. Atmosphere is laid back and makes for an overall good time. Menu prices make beer and food accessible for everyone regardless of income. They have everything from PBR to unique cocktails (highly recommend the Lily's Iced Tea). Every Po' Boy I've tried was delicious and their burgers, similar to the Cardinal's, are by far the best in Boone. Staff is great and friendly. They really create a safe environment for everyone to enjoy. They also have a classic NBA Jam arcade that is great to play with friends. Can't recommend this place enough. An absolutely amazing find. We came in yesterday and couldn't stop taking pictures to send our friends and family. Every sign is amazing. Every single one! We felt so at peace and welcomed with the vaccination proof requirements and masking procedures. It was especially needed after finding out masks are not a guarantee in the surrounding areas. The food was great!! The service was even greater!!!The server was so helpful, with me being gluten free and vegan, he was never shy about checking with the kitchen and making sure every ingredient they used for the dishes was safe for me. I almost gave this place a lower star rating--- till I looked at their Facebook posts! Placing food on the hood of your car is how they are handing their employees safety during the pandemic. I made an order online, and was not aware of this policy, so it seemed odd to us, and a little uncomfortable since it's never happened at any other place we ordered from during the pandemic. Now that we know what to expect... feel much better. The burger was excellent, and made the mistake of ordering a double thinking I would get a smaller patty. Nope. Only juicy burgers from here.. which was a nice surprise. The okra I ordered was a bit soggy, and the bag was very greasy but the fried pickles were crunchy and seasoned well. Best bar in Boone hands down. Lily's is consistently fun, constantly introducing new signature drinks, and inviting new flavors to their menu. Their dance parties go hard and their employees are sweethearts. For drinks I would recommend the Pain Killer slushy or Lavender Limeade. For food I recommend literally anything, though my fav is the shrimp po'boy. The food is always good, reasonably portioned and priced. As a bar, Lily's does the most of any bar in Boone to ensure all people are comfortable going there to have fun. They make it known that racism, homophobia, transphobia and sexual harassment/violence aren't going to be tolerated there, and the bouncers are vigilant in enforcing that. AUGUST 2020 UPDATE: We came back (surprise) and Lily's has 100% regained our trust and our business over the past 9 months through the service and food we first fell in love with and speaking with the management/owner (y'all are fab).
