When you consume wings, you're going to get dirty. There's no getting around messy fingers. Lily's has the answer for that. Wet wipes, right there at the table, in the napkin dispenser. It's little things like that that sets Lily's Wings, Burgers, and Things apart. They stand heads and shoulders above the competition. This small, local, independent eatery is located in a small strip mall adjacent to a gas station and Subway along Northway Drive not far from the YMCA, the Whitney Senior Center and soccer fields, and all of the medical offices located in the vicinity. Lily's serves large bone-in wings, boneless wings, drumsticks, country-style breaded chicken tenders, angus or bison burgers, fish sandwiches, commercial fries, handcut fresh french fries, onion rings, jalapeno poppers, cheese curds, and more. If you don't care for fries, they have homemade cole slaw. What's nice is that there's such a variety. Along with the wings, you can choose from various homemade sauces that range from fruity to spicy, depending upon what you like. I tried the teriyaki sauce with my boneless wing combo and really liked it. It has a kick at the end, but wasn't mouth-on-fire hot. The hand cut, fresh french fries are excellent - among the best I've had in the area. They were perfectly cooked served with homemade ranch dressing. I was given a generous portion of fries to go with my combo, which featured 11 boneless wings. You can sample the sauces before you decide on which one you want to go with your wings. The restaurant is kept clean, and the server/cashier was very helpful to this newbie customer. I've also had a hamburger here - the black and blue. It was done to order (medium well). The bun was soft and delicious, the hamburger was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings (red onion, lettuce and tomato) were fresh. My only complaint, and it's a small one, was that the previous customer had left some sauce residue on the table. There wasn't a lot, and I'm sure it's easy to do at a place like this - where the sauce is the boss - but they may want to check the tables more frequently to make sure they're wiped after each customer. On the downside, it's often the case that they are understaffed. Sometimes, this means that customers up front aren't getting attention because the person is in the back tending to cooking. There really should be more staff on duty or they're going to lose business. On the plus side, each meal is made fresh to order, so that sometimes means waiting a bit for your food. There are a couple of televisions here so you can watch the news or a game. Also, the Lily's food truck ensures that you can enjoy their food when you're out and about. The food truck is frequently seen in downtown St. Cloud, especially in warmer months. You can also order online, and they'll have the order ready for pickup when you get there. It's all these touches that make Lily's a restaurant worth visiting and revisiting. I still can't get over the wet wipes. Only a true wing place would have these, instead of dry napkins. Lilys is a caterer for our work on a weekly basis. we have a limited amount of time for breaks and they arrive late almost every week. The food is decent but it doesn't mean much when it cuts into the time you earn for lunch. The owners wife is very kind but he is not. Makes the clientele feel like we are in the wrong for waiting. Or being dissatisfied with his service. When you know what time lunch is served every week you think you would be able to prep better especially after over a year of doing so. Had a certificate bought on radio tried to use for 2 years- they were closed for about a year of that due to someone crashing car through the front. I wasn't expecting much after hearing very mixed reviews of this place. The atmosphere is decent but nothing special and the set up seems unorganized. I think this is better suited to be picked up/take out or catering and they don't seem to have that many people eat in. They were out of several things we tried to order (mozzarella sticks, rib tips and I don't even remember the 3rd one) and the wait for our items seemed excessive. I ordered the California burger and although it had good flavor it was dry. My Husband has the pulled pork and liked it. The kids had corn dogs which they also enjoyed. I was not pleased with my visit to Lily's even though I had been waiting a long time to stop by. It was my first visit there and quite possibly my last. The only reason why I'm giving them one star is because I enjoyed their mushroom & swiss bison burger. As far as everything else goes, they have some work to do. I was not the only disgruntled customer at Lily's on the day I came in. I witnessed multiple. A lady came up demanding new fries because hers were "charred." She said she wasn't paying for fries that were all black. The man who made them and served them seemed to know they were charred because he said they were making a new batch at the time. Two other customers came in to quickly leave because one of the features they had on their board, the Texas Mashed Potatoes, were not available "that day." I'm not sure why they would be written on the board if they didn't even have them. As far as my own experience, I don't plan on coming in again anytime soon. I called to order my lunch in advance and when I got there, I expected to wait while the food was being cooked, but the service I ended up receiving, was some of the worst I've ever seen. I felt for the cashier because he seemed frustrated with the cook/the person who seemed to be his boss as well. He apologized to me multiple times and expressed the lack of communication between him and the cook. I ordered a mushroom & swiss bison burger with lettuce and mayo. I also ordered hand cut fries as a part of my combo. The pop was completely flat so I don't recommend even ordering the combo if you do choose to come here. The fries were soggy and had no crisp to them (also, they were not hand cut but rather just their regular fries). If you don't like a lot of grease, the bison burger probably isn't for you. It was drenched with grease. The taste was nice despite the excessive grease. I would say the burger saved the entire order overall, but he did not put lettuce on the burger, so I ran back in to notify the cashier. I was charged for it ($1.00 per extra topping/veggie), so I did want to make sure to get my lettuce or get a refund. The cashier graciously went back to the kitchen and got some lettuce and cut up some tomatoes for me as well. Being that there is a window between the front and kitchen of Lily's, you can hear the conversations in the kitchen. As the cashier cut up the vegetables, the cook was telling him that I did not ask for lettuce on my burger and that mushroom & swiss burgers don't come with lettuce, which made me upset because there is always the option of putting whatever toppings people want on any kind of burger. He kept talking about me and my order as I was standing right there.The cashier did not respond to the cook and when he came back out, he looked noticeably uncomfortable. He apologized to me once again and I told him I knew it was not his fault. Customers should never be discredited or made to feel they are wrong. I paid for terrible service and to listen to a man who was very negative both toward his customers and employee. I would've loved to see that guy crack one smile...he should not be in the food business with his attitude. Half-decent food and a nasty demeanor isn't a good look for a business. read more

A friend told me that Lily's is a hoppin' place. So, my husband and I took a chance and ordered online for delivery. These were the BEST WINGS I've ever had. They were cooked to perfection and SO tender. Both the wingettes and drummettes were so large that I can't even imagine the mutant chickens they came from. All I can say is that they obviously grow BIG chickens in Minnesota. All three sauces were absolutely DELICIOUS! We'll never be able to settle for Buffalo Wild Wings again. Since then I gave them a second chance as I believe in doing so, because every place has their bad days. The second chance was a success. I tried Lilly's wings today only to find out the following. 1. If you are short on time such as a half hour lunch this is probably not the place to go. I was unable to even finish my food as it took so long. The sad part was i am just across the street and it took me 3 minutes to get there. 2. Watch how you order. I asked for a California burger as I wanted the lettuce, mayo and onions and I added cheese as a basket. I got a 1/3 prime Angus burger with cheese and sauteed onions. I did not go back up as I didn't have enough time as it was to get the order corrected. This burger, fries and pop costed me 12.46. Kind of expensive for a burger and fries. 3. The girl at the check out counter was visiting with I believe friends and I was waiting to order, just a little rude on my part. This is my second visit here and to me there was something very off about this visit. First was the wings to me felt like they weren't cooked long enough, the meat wasn't right at all, it was kind of slimy like it hadn't been cooked thoroughly. The table was dirty, and they don't really check on you or ask how the food is, but I guess they assumed it was okay. I liked the televisions they had throughout the restaurant, and I also liked the bathroom being clean, there wasn't anyone there for lunch which was surprising. The cashier was nice and helpful and was also patient with me. Also what I didn't like about this establishment besides it's wings was the hand wipes that are in the dispenser were not ready to be used so with barbecue hands I had to dig in it to get it so that they come out every time. Also the wipes were not a good quality at all, they left a film on my hands that I didn't like at all. I have heard about Lily's since I moved to Saint Cloud. I made a visit to the restaurant. Wow!! I was amazed at all the different kinds of BBQ sauces. Fresh Black Angus and Bison burgers. We were looking for a good wing place. They definitely are good. Place is nice, clean and the owner very friendly. We got there just after they opened on Saturday. The owner took the time to go over the menu. Got to sample the sauce before we ordered. We like that the food is fresh and made in small batches. Not a bulk sauce sitting around in buckets. You can see a pile of fresh cut fries in the kitchen. Honey habenaro large combo for me. I enjoy extra heat on my wings and these were good. Lots of sauce and good flavor. Not just hot. This was my worst experience here tonight. I called in my order got there had to wait extra 10 minutes. Got home realize I didn't get my order of cheese curds. I call back to tell them and the lady was rude and hung up after I said I'd come back. Got back there the cook was like it wasn't on your order. I showed her my receipt it sure was on there. But what we didn't know was how yummy their burgers were...wow! This means that we can have a choice of hot, delicious, restaurant quality food delivered right to your door. A great hole in the wall place with amazing and different sauces. My favorite is southern blues. My only complaint was that my friend and I ordered both a small boneless wings. My friends had about 6+ more wings than me. I had a lot less, wondering if they just made a big batch and split them and didn't notice they gave her a lot more than me. And 3 of the wings were knuckley and chewy so I had to spit it out. Also was +40$ for 2 small batches (one larger than the other and only allows 1 sauce) and loaded fries with a soda. 20$ for one person. Might as well go to Bdubs for that price. Wish they'd change the pricing and maybe watch the quality of wings. Would try it again but if same thing happens I won't go back. Hope it changes a bit. read more

I dined here this past Sunday afternoon, during a Vikings game, so naturally we were the only customers. (ha ha) The gentleman working was doing double duty as cook/cashier, and he still got us our food (two 1/2 lb orders of boneless wings and a side of cheese curds) in a very timely manner. This place is nothing short of amazing! We ordered burgers, fries and wings. The burgers were hand made after we ordered. They were extremely tasty! The fries were thick but crispy! The wings were very very good. We tried the black and blu, Caribbean jerk and the honey habanero... Let me warn you the habanero ones were extremely hot! Probably the hottest wings I have ever had. The coolest thing was at the tables were the napkin dispensers.. Except they were wet wipes!!!! The place was clean, the service was great and the food was phenomenal for a little hole in the wall! We went to wing fest in St cloud and the next day we had cravings for lily's! My fiance got wings, the wings are crunchy and juicy. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders and they were so juicy and tasty! A little expensive, but the quality of the food is awesome. Order the jalapeño poppers! So good! read more
