Basically this is a storage space that is unloaded and reloaded for the flea markets. ANd we hit it on a day that it was "full." As in, nothing out to pasture to be sold. This mean we walked into a long and narrow space toppling with chairs, art, glamour shots, furniture, nudity --- basically, we stumbled into a hipster wonderland. The music is so loud you won't be able to talk to the person that is barely visible behind all the "junk." This seems to be by design according to their web site. It's a free-spirited shop. No organization, no price tags...and no way to really find out what things are or how much they cost. I guess this is part of the fun. We admired the action figure window display, flipped through a few of those ridiculous Glamour Shots, admired the cushioned headboard hanging from the far back wall that resembles a "moneyshot" woman -- and were on our way. Their website gives a great story. I wouldn't hesitate to stop in again. I'm pretty sure if I wanted to buy something they'd list out a price -- but maybe not. That's the fun of... a HOT MESS.

Gone was the mix of locals and tourists, cool music playing, great shopping and tasty food! The place was full of shops loaded with cheap, generic junk! It makes Times Square or Pier 39 look eclectic! Want a cheaply printed tee or bag you can also buy on Amazon - check! Want a 'vintage' Amy Whitehouse vinyl for 80 pounds that you can buy on eBay for $5 - check! What about a 'French taco ' aka a tortilla filled with French fries ( seriously) check!! Want to walk shoulder to shoulder to shoulder with unsuspecting tourists buying all of the above - yep they have that too!! We ended up escaping the main drag and finding a local brewery - and even that was empty and devoid of culture! The cool market; with unique finds and great street food has been replaced with a generic experience that you could find at any tourist trap and it makes me sad that areas like this are losing the very identity that set them apart !

I enjoyed a quiche. My daughters enjoyed strawberries topped with Nutella. We all shared a fish and chips meal from Poppie's which I highly recommend. Probably the best fish and chips we had while in London. There are olive bars and paella and all sorts of amazing foods to enjoy. The main market was built in Festival of Britain modernist street form, and this has been added to in recent years with a glass-roofed centrepiece. You can buy fresh fruit n veg, fabrics, pots and pans and general household goods in the main market. And there's a lot of cheap shops in the buildings surrounding Chrisp Street. So here, you'll find discount furniture shops, good butchers, bakers and pound shops. Truth be told, it does look and feel a bit shabby. Especially surrounded by the glittering towers of East End regeneration. But well worth checking out, whether you're an architecture geek or just looking for some bargains...

Since we were so early we were able to browse the market, vendors and food options without big crowds or lines. There were two areas of the market along with the brick and mortar stores in the area. The food options were great, and if we had more time during our visit I would have made this a regular spot for us to visit so we could try more of the options. There's a wide variety of cuisine offered from Dirty Bagel's pulled pork sandwiches, which we bought, to hand pulled noodles, coffee, chai, baked items, and so much more. I wish we had tried more of the food vendors! The other vendors had a lot of clothing, gifts, art and accessories and there were some that seemed to have more than one booth, while others were very unique. There was free wifi in the market, which was great since our hotel had terrible wifi. They also had plenty of seating for those who wanted to enjoy food. Next time we're in the area we will be back!

One of the better vintage fairs around…read more Takes place every few months on a Sunday (approx 5 times a year). Can be a queue to get in but it's worth it for finding good quality clothes and accessories. It's a good space too, at the Urdang. Not huge, but there's three rooms to browse and I was really impressed selection on offer. It's not a jumble sale like some vintage fairs. I find those give me a headache whereas this is a pretty relaxed shopping experience.

We enjoyed walking around and seeing a wide variety of food options! The whole market area was clean and organized when we got there at 9am. No lines yet. Long lines did start forming around 9:45am when the hot foods were ready but moved pretty quickly. It is a farmer's type market with some prepared foods, which were top notch. We walked the entire thing and grabbed as much as we could to eat. There are plenty of food places just outside the space that are open later as well. I got some meat sticks from a vendor, sort of farmers market style. There was also another stand that had fruit in a cup with chocolate.Our best deal were some arepas that were half off because it was closing time and they wanted to get rid of them. This isn't the place to take pictures, but rather to immerse yourself in all the goodness that is here.
